One thing you can be sure if with Chicken Express is consistency. And with consistency comes good food everytime. I recommend the gizzards those are my fave but with bbq sauce bc who in their southern right mind uses gravy instead of bbq sauce! 😆

I went through the drive thru about 20 minutes before close. The lady on the speaker was so kind and the guy at the drive through was very quick and friendly. They were out of a side we ordered so they gave us an additional side for free! We left absolutely happy. Before, we were cautious about this chicken express due to previous experiences related to service. I can confidently say things have turned around and I’ll be back.

I have not had Chicken Express in years, since they dont have it in my state. It is one of my favorite chicken places ever! Food was amazing. One thing is that I dont think the sweet tea is as sweet as it used to be, but it was still really good.

Great food, wonderful employees. I love coming here. Word of advice: don't brag how big and successful your chicken empire is while covering your stores with "Nobody Wants To Work" signs and offering a measly $10/hr. If you're charging $2 per chicken strip and the line of cars is still around the building, you can afford to pay the $15-$20/hr it costs to live in Lubbock. It is good chicken though.

Got the 4 tender meal with sauce instead of gravy, fries, and a roll. I got charged $1 for 2 buffalo sauce and still got gravy. Didn't get my toll. The unsweetened tea was really old tasting. Chicken and fries were fresh and hot, so at least theirs that.

We went through the drive up line today. We ordered a family meal and an individual meal. We drove all the way to Littlefield and discovered they left the gravy off both orders. Not a fan of dry mashed potatoes. Probably won't go back, even though our food that we did receive tasted good. I expect my order to be complete when I go anyplace.

My husband and I went right on time, like they were busy, but we were next through drive thru to put in our order and even though they had 1 or 2 cars(not sure) waiting they had our order ready. We ordered the $30 family pack(1/2 reg and 1/2 spicy), which we love their rolls and spicy chicken. It was delicious. I can't remember the lady that took our payment, but she spoke so clear. It was great

Customer service has really started to decline. Staff need training on resolution, courtesy and critical thinking. Food is still great if you manage to have no mistakes on your order.

Extremely disappointed! The food we got at 1:30pm was not fresh. It had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for quite a while. My livers, fried chicken, chicken strips and corn nuggets were all very dried out. Even the biscuits were old. Never gotten food like this in other Chicken Express restaurants. We were so looking forward to it and were very disappointed!

My husband and I got 2 of the 7 piece baskets with fries & I got a biscuit, he got a roll, we also got corn nuggets. The food was overall good. The corn nuggets were stale and half warm. The chicken basket was good though. The biscuit, for me, was the best part. Idk if the man that took my card at the window was having a bad day or what, but he was extremely rude, barely spoke to us except to tell us whatever he was handing us. But he did it in a way that was forceful, like pushing our food and everything out at us with an attitude. The tone of his voice was attitude filled, like he didn’t care to be there & didnt want to be there. He never said have a good day or anything, he looked at us like we were stupid or something. He really seemed like he was either having a bad day or really hates his job.. idk but that’s why I rated it a 3 star. If the corn nuggets were fresh & if the drive thru window employee wasn’t so rude, it would’ve been better.

I went there 2 times (close to my family that was in hospital) in a week & both times, had biscuit that was hard as a rock, some chicken was hard, & no bag & no napkins. It's hard to carry a to go order when the box is flimsy already...

Normally pretty good, went on a Wed night at 9pm they don't close till 10pm we got 2 #1's, but our fries are hard and stale, the biscuits are like a rock, okra is old. $25 just to get strips 🙄 😒

Went to order a number 1 with mash and a sweet tea, no biggy pretty easy. I get to window and employee asked if I ordered 2 sweet teas to which I responded no. He then looks at me funny takes my card swipes it gives my food and I ask for serendipity the regular one he hands me 2 spicy I give them back, and ask again for regular he looks at me funny and slowly hands them to me I then ask for my receipt he closes the window. I wait he opens it slowly looking at me very awkwardly again and hands me my receipt in which I was charged for another sweet tea and a jalepeno….but he literally asked me if I had 2 and I said no. So it’s too late to back up I go inside and try to explain I need a refund they are trying to talk me into letting them give me the extra items, no thank you they finally issues my refund and I get to witness another customer have issues with his order in which they demand the receipt for. So crazy how they care more about no voids and food cost then the customer and it’s everytime I go which is not often because I have an issue everytime

EVERYBODY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO RUN A BUSINESS!! There I said it Went to chicken Express spent almost $80 got home made the kids plate and then proceeded to get my food How come my gizzards were old old and hard as a rock. I'm immediately upset call the manager of said store and he immediately jumps on defense because he gave me old food. Not once did an apology come (on the phone) So me being me I told him I dont like your attitude. I'm on my way keep that same attitude. I get there fully expecting the law to be there already😂 they wasnt but that still wouldnt change anything 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I tell him an simple apology for the old food would have went a long way especially since we waited in line over 20 minutes. There was no reason for anything to be old 🤷‍♀️ He told me gizzards have a 45 minute hold time. I got my receipt at 2:18 and made it back to him at 2:52 Yall do the math I drove home, got the kids plates made and back in that length of time. So the obvious explanation is the food was already old. Just own up to your mistakes and stop trying to make it about others. And if your wrong respect your guest enough to at least apologize for your short comings😡

Generally, I like chicken express. The past couple times I have gone, however, have not been good for one reason and one reason only. The music that is played in the drive thru. You can play whatever music you want, but blaring Christian music over the speakers does not make me want to be a Christian nor does it make me want to eat chicken express. You pull up to the window and the music is so loud and annoying I can barely hear the person at the window

Honestly I’ve given this CE plenty of chances to redeem themselves about they never seem to be able to. I’ve been here various times and they are notorious for telling me my sauces are in the box- they NEVER are. I come to this location because I live pretty much outside of town and it’s the closest one but I won’t be anymore :/ Tonight they forgot my whole family side of corn nugget. Manager was nice enough to offer to remake them or send me a gift card but driving back to the store wasn’t worth the hassle. I just wish quality control was better because the people at this location are very friendly people.

Usually awesome experience Today not good. Ordered 3 pc Fish. (I know but it came highly recommended) usually Tartar Sauce will come with Fish but just incase it didn’t I asked for it in the comments and still didnt get any. Had to eat DRY fish. Menu shows this plate comes with 6 hush puppies but only got 3. Not a good experience this time.

We got in line at 7:43pm and did not get to the window until 8:18 . Totally unacceptable. This was on a Monday night, Feb 5, 2024. We were 2 cars behind the order kiosk. They came to the car to check our order.. Order was wrong. People were leaving and orders were confused. When we got to the window we had to reorder. It was crazy and unacceptable. We could hear staff arguing at the window. Our receipt was printed out as receiving our food at 8:18. It was actually 8:23. We love this food and come regularly, but you lost us after this. Get your staff in line.

The Hispanic lady at the front counter with glasses & short hair was very rude. I ordered the 2 piece chicken and accidentally said white when I meant dark when I realized it before she even cashed me out I told her I messed up I wanted to change it. Her response was “I already put the order in” I had to tell her “ok well just change it you haven’t even cashed the order out yet we are still ordering” she refused to change it on the computer bc I’m sure of the price change.

Usually don't have a problem with this location but today was a joke. Take a drink and something slimey was in my mouth spit it out and found this in my tea. Called in and who ever answered the phone and just kinda laughed it off. Went in to show them what it was and the manager said it was sugar build up in pipes and it wouldn't kill me or hurt me. Just asked if I wanted more tea. Wasn't a surprise to them so it tells me 2 things. Whatever pipes they're talking about haven't been cleaned and it's happened enough to where they know it's an issue. Manager didn't seem to care either. Love the food but dang won't give my business to this location.

I ordered thru chicken Express app. For delivery. I was missing my gravy for my liver and gizzards mixed. And I got scraps for the liver and gizzards. Not even whole pieces and not fresh. Guess they didn't care enough to cook some for my ory. So they gathered up the scraps and called it a meal. I call and spoke to an individual al he could say was sorry But he could and would not do anything since I ordered it on Chicken Express app. I will tell you this. Shame on this store. I get better service from store on Slide. Unfortunately I don't have a choice but to use this store due to my address. Well you have lost my business. Have a blessed day you need Sorry wrong store. The pandemic is over and yet Chicken Express still allows no dine-in. This is a terrible management decision that stems from laziness, mis-management and petty greed from a franchisee owner looking to penny pinch. The excuse on the drive thru window reads some political drivel about not being able to hire people. There are kids looking for jobs all over Lubbock currently. The line still takes literally 25 minutes or more to get through. A model of inefficiency here that kind of boggles the mind. And STILL NOT using the secondary lane!!! Hire some kids, give them manageable shifts and bear the brunt until your ROI gives you profits again. Take a business class online while you're at it...

I went in this chicken express and the manager well I guess she’s the manager. She was the only one not in uniform and walking around like she owned the place very rude woman. The only reason I gave them two stars is because the young man at the register was extremely nice. She was extremely rude. She made me feel like my business wasn’t wanted. The manager came up to the front, counted money, turn around, picked her nose and walked over and started serving food. Not washing her hands or using gloves. Luckily, I was only getting a gallon of sweet tea or I would’ve asked for my money back. All these negative reviews would probably stop if they got rid of that lady.

Absolute worst customer service experience in my life. Apparently 30 minutes is a normal wait time when you are the only one in line. Employees are allowed to be rude to customers. Absolutely no way to contact corporate or file a complaint on an employee who has no business working with the public. Food has always been good but I am done with Chicken Express.

Waited for 10 minutes at the window with no cars in line. Also had to pay for extra condiments that usually is free. The lady at the window was rude and unprofessional. Just heads up for everyone that the owner of these chicken express here in Lubbock is incredibly greedy. Will not be coming back

This location is near me, but after the last few times of going here, I would rather drive across town to one of the other locations. From the person taking the order with rude, rushed tones to the person at the window (after a 30 minute wait in line) promptly telling me to pull up for an 8 pc family meal... I'm not sure how management allows this behavior of their staff. I had to call after being pulled up for 15 minutes to remind them about my order. It was magically done as soon as I called. No apology for the long wait, just handed me the bag and walked away. When I, the customer, treat the employees of the establishment with kindness and respect, I expect that in return.

I went through the drive thru to order 4 meals for my family. I asked for some spicy serendipity and received nothing. When I went inside to get some I asked her if I could have 4-5 packets. The old rude cashier lady handed me 2 and said “I don’t know how many meals you got so I can only give you 2” when I asked her if I could bring my receipt in to show her that I got more than one meal, she raised her voice and said “Uh no. I don’t know how many meals you got so you only get 2. go through the drive thru if you want more.” so that’s exactly what I did. After waiting in the line for 20 MINUTES FOR SOME SPICY SERENDIPITY I got to the front and the drive thru lady gave me a whole handful without even asking how many meals I had.

I went to Chicken Express on 4th st. and ordered 9 chicken gizzards! I went to window and paid for my order! They told me to move up and they would take my order to me! 10 minutes later I get out of my car and asked what is taking so long and come to find out, they had forgot about order and had to cook my gizzards! That took another 10 minutes! I was late getting to my 4pm client and the skinny white lady did give me extra gizzards so I asked for a bbq sauce due to her giving me a few extra gizzards! She stated no that I had to pay for the bbq sauce! I asked to speak to manager and she stated I am the manager! I said that’s a joke and walked out! The price in food has gone up enormously so you figured the food would be good and customer service would be good! Once I got to my clients house I was eating my gizzards and they were not cooked and they were all stuck together! Never again! This place is trash!

I took my family yesterday for lunch and got the worst food and service I have ever got and will not return to this location. The young woman that helped us was rude, disrespectful and should not be employed at any of your locations. She not only gave us cold food, she refused to even warm it up, she was vulgar and even flipped us the bird on the way out after she refused to give us a refund . When asked to speak to the Manager on duty, he came out and was non responsive and continued to let this young girl be vulgar and disrespectful even in front of my young grandsons. He came out afterwards taking pictures on phone taking pictures of us and our vehicle. He refused to even give us his name. I don't know who trained either one of these employees on customer service but they all three need to be fired. I have worked in customer service for 25+ years and have never come across such disrespectful people in my life. Someone needs to look into these two individuals before you all lose more loyal customers! Horrible customer service and horrible food !!!!!!!!

Why is the dining room not open? And why is the wait 30 plus minutes. This place has gone downhill since covid. Management is the issue obviously. So this past Saturday (6/18/22), we decided to give this place another shot. On our last few visits the wait was terrible and the order was wrong. Well we made the wrong decision and we’re stuck in the drive through for a good 30 minutes. We didn’t even get a chance to order…. The only way we were able to get out was a car in front of us decided to bail and about 3 other cars did the same. This place has gone downhill, like at a free fall rate. Food is decent, the wait and attitude from the workers is terrible. The franchise owner needs to can the managers and start from scratch.

This is the worst chicken restaurant in Lubbock. The food is terrible, the service is awful, and the atmosphere is non existent. There are premade signs on the drive through windows listing the excuses of why it takes so long to get food when you’ve waited in line for the better part of an hour. Do not bother calling the store, you will be met with extremely rude staff and management. How they are still open for business is a mystery to me. Do not waste your money at this location.

Called to make a change on an order, the lady was very rude and refused to help me. Tried canceling the order because of her attitude and they said if I did I wouldn't be able to get a refund. I wasn't asking for anything difficult, I just needed to change from reg to spicy tenders, but they wouldn't even listen or try to confirm order details.. She just kept saying "that's the policy". I understand rules, but if a customer is willing to offer additional details to confirm it's actually them... I do not understand why they wouldn't make the small but extra effort to help the customer. Very disappointed 😕 especially with how much I paid for this.

Me and my family ordered a family order and they didn’t give us the corn on the cob but charged us for it, they only gave us 5 jalapeños for a family of 6, they always miss something in your order so make sure to check your order before you leave the drive thru! still love you chicken express😂 but cmon work on getting the food out right!!!

The Truth

The guy in the black shirt walked straight from the bathroom to the back line, without ever washing his hands. Then he grabbed a bunch of food from the fridge as if it was nothing. Then, the manager in the purple shirt told him to wash his hands. Immediately after he washed his hands, he pulled a drink from under the food line and started drinking out of it, holding the lid in his hand, before going back to touching more food. Although the manager told him to wash his hands after I complained, he proceeded to tell me that I was lying and he personally watched him wash his hands. Rather than care about food safety, the manager got upset and told me to leave, that's why I took the pictures.

My wife and I went for fish and gizzards whenever we got home half of the gizzards were in the box and it had chicken tenders mixed in with the gizzards. I called the store because we live on the other side of Lubbock and they were not willing to be customer oriented in any way form or fashion. I was told I would have to drive back across Lubbock and bring them the food in order for them to fix it, and this was after I sat in line and drive-through for 30 minutes, so as much as I love fried gizzards, I will never return to chicken express in Lubbock Texas again

I haven't been to chicken express in a long time and now i remember why. Waited in the drive through line forever. For what I paid I should have gone to a nice restaurant. Food was barely warm. They charge a fee for paying with a card. Not at all worth what I paid. The guy at the window was friendly but everything else is very disappointing.

An example of a restaurant that absolutely does not care what you think. Anybody that rates them above 1 star, has never eaten outside of Lubbock, because this is trash and a complete joke. They aren't cheap in price either. There are at least 5 other places that are better than getting a nasty box shoved at you, with no napkins or anything......... um it's chicken, who doesn't need at least one napkin? Can go on and on. If you eat here, you deserve whatever you get, because you have been warned.

No complaints on food. However, I ordered my food through the chicken express app. I was charged pricing for DoorDash delivery and I picked up my own food. Very angry and dissapointed that the staff did nothing to fix this nor cared to do anything about it. I got a careless shrugged then he handed my food.

Went through the drive thru waited over 10 minutes in the window to get my food as soon as the employee handed me my food he immediately shut the window. I’m glad I checked it before I actually left because it was completely the wrong food! I had to go inside to get it fixed! Too many dang kids working there they need to make sure they have people who ACTUALLY CARE working. With the amount of terrible reviews I’m seeing be ready to shut down in the next couple of years Chicken express.

Yesterday I ordered a tender dinner through the drive through. I drove home (over 20 minutes away) and found out that they didn’t include the gravy with my meal. No big issue. The next day, I was on my way home and stopped by to get the gravy so I could have gravy with my leftovers, but they refused to give me a side of gravy unless I paid an additional fee.

We went through the drive thru and ordered 3 meals. As he rushed me off since they were so busy they forget my drink. I also always purchase extra gravy to have just in case. Well I get home and the 7 tender meal which is pricey is just tenders and a roll. No fries that came with it. No extra gravy. And of course my missing drink. I immediately call give them the receipt number requested and they say come back and get what was missing. I do not drive too much at night so I informed I would go another day and he got my name as well. When I went back I just ask for my drink since I wasn't hungry and this kid says sorry I can't do that. I proceed to tell him my name and a copy of the receipt to which he goes to a heavy set woman and she says NO we're not gonna do that. Like I was lying!!! I was left there with no apologies nor anyone one else talking to me. Never again will I visit that location!!!

Ordered drive thru. Food was lukewarm and tasted like it had been sitting a while. Fish fillet was so thin there was no fish to speak of and breading was tough due to fish being so thin. Paid with credit card and was charged a fee for it. No sigh posted indicating that fact. Definitely would not recommend the fish or paying with credit card.

Let me start what to expect nothing exceptional but not bad . But the Price and Qty are outrageous. We ordered a 25 piece family meal with 2 sides and 6 rolls. this came out to $62. In shock we reluctantly handed over our card, at that point it was more embarrassing to drive away. Some of the tenders we received were literally breading no chicken. Usually there is a line out to the street But we were the only car in the drive thru should have known something was going on. Chicken Express you have priced my family out of eating here. We will go elsewhere.

I was so excited when I seen chicken express, but unfortunately, I will never be excited again to come to this location ever! Being that I am also out of town makes my experience even worse. As I walked in and came to the front counter and older lady, with short hair, black in the back and blonde brownish streaks in the front with glasses on. As I walk up to the counter, she looks at me and then proceeds to look straight backed out. I am completely ignored without a hello welcome to chicken express or anything. I finally speak and say were you going to say anything? I’m still ignored and then I choose to place my order.. I asked for the fish snack meal and ask can I have a roll instead of the hush puppies? Once she tells me you’re not able to do that I tell her to just keep it how it is then I proceeded to come with a beverage? The older lady tells me it does not come with a beverage so then I tell her OK. I’ll just grab one as I look up at the menu to see if she’s rushing me to pick a size of beverage that I would like.. Then I tell her I also would like my roll with my meal. After I’ve paid, I asked her did she include my role and she very rudely snaps at me and says you told me you didn’t want that! In which that is not the truth and she was extreme About it once again. After I see the manager come he says he will just give me the role and as I moved to the side to get my drink, she makes it clear and very well-known to address. Every customer that is in line other than myself with extremely happy greeting! I still have no idea why she ignored me and was rude to me. I was never allowed or disrespectful to her. I am only in town for another two weeks and this location will never see my face again!

Came & ordered my food waited was told apple pay wasn’t available at the window, which i’ve previously done before. I then go inside to pickup my order the elder lady at the window wasn’t very friendly seem she didn’t enjoy her job much. I go inside the lady at the cashier helps the other guy behind me & my order is ready terrible service.

I ordered a #1 spicy, but when I got home, I realized they gave me the wrong order. I called and spoke to a manager named Mark, and he was incredibly rude. He kept interrupting me while I was trying to explain the situation. I do not recommend this location.

Albert at slide location in Lubbock texas!!! , HORRIBLE MANAGER!!! Expressed MY frustration about receiving OLD chicken . Nothing was done but he said for me to return with ALL the food with receipt and I should have came back last night … that’s what he said at first then he said I can return. I ordered about 9pm I live 20 minutes away!! Returning the food wasn’t an issue it’s still OUTSIDE for my dogs to eat which they haven’t cause it’s OLD chicken!!! The problem is HOW he delivered the information to me! Then threaten to call the cops if I kept calling! I will never do business with them again!

Simply put, Chicken Express has tanked since the pandemic, and it's not the cause nor a valid excuse. Service and food use to be top notch but no more. My biggest complaint is their workforce management and inability to keep their dining room open. They obviously don't care about customers who wish to dine in. I have given them more than enough opportunity to get their act together but it's obvious the owners and management just don't care. They've lost who was a loyal customer forever, if they even care about that.

No idea on food as I never got any. Was coming back from a trip and went out of my way to go there. It was roughly 5:15 and I was greeted with a sign "dining room hours - 11-5". !! Who does that on a weekend, or anytime for that matter? The last thing I wanted was to eat in my car! So....if that's all you think of your customers - never again. Went to Church's and sat in their dining room and enjoyed my meal

The chicken tenders are thinner than they used to be, I went during lunch time and waited 13 minutes from order time to getting my order with only three cars ahead. I understand if the people ahead of me ordered family meals, but that wasn’t the case, and despite the wait, I opened the box before leaving the parking lot to eat fries on the drive home and they were cold. To top it all off, they were out of spicy tenders so I asked for spicy serendipity both at the microphone and while handing my card off but they didn’t give me any.

I waited about 25 minutes in line just to receive old tiny tenders. Not only did they look and feel like they were made hours ago, i didn’t even receive the correct amount that i ordered. If you’re going to a chicken express i don’t recommend this specific location. You don’t get what you pay for!

Order two meals at 4:48pm Sunday 6th. You would think it would be fresh. Had a busy day didn't feel like cooking, so decided to go there since close to home. Got home food was so cold. Fish so hard , over cooked and stale. Called up there manager saying to bring it back and they will replace it. Why should I go through that when you the manager in charge serving this crap . I stay 10 minutes away and want me to take another 10 minutes out of my time with horrible food. And have the audacity to put a verse on the receipt and service is not good. I am pretty sure they wouldn't eat this and I spent almost 30.00 for two meals. I see why people don't like to go out a lot lately because of poor food service.

This place messes up my order every single time. There has been a missing item every time I’ve gone there. I like the chicken but it’s not worth it when you pay for something and they leave it out. Basically it is stealing. Maybe I should check my order every time before I leave, but I shouldn’t have to. Who screws up every order??????

To start off the so called MANAGER “MARK” is terrible excuse of a manager. If y’all care about this food chain location at all you’d FIRE him. The amount of other reviews who have the same issue with him is baffling. I normally go to this location because it’s the closest, but the reviews on this place are accurate. Ordered 2 number 1’s $25 worth of food mind you, didn’t get my rolls, didn’t get my mashed potato’s. So I called asked for manager, of course I get a response “I am the manager” with a nasty cocky tone. I told him I’m not about to drive up there as it was already late, tired & annoyed. He rudely scoffs into the phone and said “can send you a card in the mail” I said sure whatever. Moral of the story, they’ll get your order wrong & the manager is just as careless as the rest of them

They obviously know what I ordered in the drive-thru because they read it to me before they charge me. However, somewhere between taking my money and giving me my food, they somehow forget to read. I am constantly getting the wrong meal, despite there being a label on the box saying what's in it. I am constantly getting the wrong damn box because they can't make sure what is on the box and what they charged me for are the same thing. Maybe it's on me for not always checking. God forbid I actually expect someone to be good at their job.

Rudest service I've gotten, the person taking my order talked like I was wasting his time and the person at the window had to be asked to read my order back to me (which was wrong). The people I saw working here seemed to be more interested in playing and talking with each other than doing their job. Won't be back here, and wouldn't suggest other people visit.

Ordered food . Spent $70 Ordered livers. Got gizzards. Should have known better. They blamed door dash although tgwt did not xook food. Everyrime i ordered there they have excuae as well. Waist of minet i sid not have to give out. Wont bexeating there again the ovioualt cant read or cook.

This place has really went down hill, after waiting 20 minutes for our food we went inside and it was just sitting there getting cold, then we get home and every meal is missing a side, they were rude about it like it was our fault they didn't put all the food in the box

Chicken was dry! The rolls had been squashed FLAT!!!! They had forgotten one of my orders, had to remind them. The sides, okra, mashed, Mac and cheese, was not even WARM! Likely will not go back!

I came to this Chicken Express thinking I'm going to get some chicken that's going to just melt in your mouth well I ended up getting a dry chicken with nothing but breading on it it was like 2% chicken and 98% breading. I called the manager to tell him about it and he wanted me to bring back the meal after I already got home which is 20 minutes away from this place and all he could say was well we can't do nothing unless you bring back that meal that is so rude and inconvenient. I would never come to this Chicken Express again

This location near 4th and slide! Seriously, are you even trying to get the order correct? It's just not that hard....check the bag to make sure everything is correct. 25 piece tenders family meal! no gravy in the box or bag. What's worse is that this was the "make up order" for the last visit where they handed me someone else's order. 2 visits back-to-back. They must hear that they mess up all of the time because there's zero emotion associated with the situation. $60 purchase and just an "oh well" attitude. I'm embarrassed for the owner.....because they must be unaware. P.S. Chicken tenders are overcooked and dry! Mostly just batter!

This was the worst experience iv had at a restaurant in a long time. I ordered food online for pick up at around 5:50 pm and the website said it would be done around 6:04 pm. I understand those times aren’t always accurate. After the website saying my order was complete I got to the restaurant around 6:10pm and told them I was there to pick up an online order. They asked me to give them a few minutes. People came in and ordered food and received their food before I received mine. After about 20 minutes I asked about my food and was told it was still not ready. Still more people came and went I still did not have my order. After about another 10-15 minutes I got up to ask again and someone who looked like a lead or manager asked the cashier if I was waiting on something. After it had been about an hour after I had placed my order someone who looked like a manager came to help and my order somehow got split into 2-3 orders. So it had really been setting in the warmer the whole time. There were orders with my name on it and they had looked in the warmer for my order multiple times. The one who looked like a manager threw away my food and made me a fresh order.(I am grateful for that) Which after the hour wait was still missing fries. After an hour I finally received my food. Neither the one who looked like a lead or the one who looked like the manager ever even really looked at me nor did they apologize or offer to make up for the inconvenience. After I had to ask for my missing the only one who apologized was the cashier who looked like he was new and thrown to the wolves. After all of that the food wasn’t even that good.

This place is one the most disgraceful and unprofessional places I've ever eaten. The chicken was old , warm, not fresh, greasy. The workers inside the restaurant were very disrespectful and the manager was the worst one. Rude, called me a racial slur under his breath. I was a long time customer and know when they're chicken is fresh. Well I stand behind this, you've lost a lot of money from this long time customer and to the owner, you're and your workers will be your downfall sad to say. Good Luck. Fire Mark He's causing you to loose customers and business. He's a waste of life up there.

I’m not sure what happened but this place has the worst chicken tenders. There is barely any chicken in the tenders and what is there is so over cooked that it’s so dry. It’s been this way for a while and with the rising prices, you would at least think there would be edible chicken in the tenders. I don’t recommend coming here.

Usually the food is edible. Today we placed an order and all of the food was cold. They didn't put no gravy, the mac and cheese was disgusting. I guess the scraped the pan and decided to sell it. The chicken was old and dry. I dont think they even had it under the heat laps. This place is pretty expensive when it comes to fried chicken. This will be the last time we order from there. But im sure there are plenty of customers that one less wont make a difference. I have never asked for my money back over food. This is the one time I would and I eat anything.

I got a number (25 ) 25 chicken strips and two sides and not only was my gravy cold I couldn't get half of them mixed with spicy. For 70 dollars... Employee said they already made it and they wasn't going to change it. But I'm the customer and I'm paying almost $100.... And I requested it before they even gave us the food and paid for it. Actually ridiculous and very lazy work.

I normally love Chicken Express, but this location is always hit or miss. Yesterday I spent almost $50 on food for my family, and my order was completely wrong — missing okra and mashed potatoes with gravy, and my 7 Tender Dinner had old, cold tenders that were clearly not fresh. When I called the next day to get my meal replaced, the manager (Mark) was rude, showed zero empathy, and didn’t even try to help. I called again later hoping for a different manager, but it was him again — and he actually refused to give me corporate’s contact info. Then he told me to “dig the food out of the trash can and bring it back as proof.” That’s absolutely unacceptable behavior for a store manager. At this point, I just want my full order replaced and for corporate to address this. The other Chicken Express locations in town are great — this one is being run very poorly and needs serious attention.

I ordered 3pc fish dinner combo with reg fries and cole slaw and paid $17 the fish was stale and it felt like I was eating jerky and I didn't even get my fries. I will never go back . I don't even like Long Johns and I probably would have had a better experience ordering food from them. From reading customers bad experience the owner of this place definitely needs to train and hire better staff.

This place was a total bust today I am highly disappointed in it by the way my food looked and the service I asked for gizzards and asked if they could be cooked fresh while I waited and was told oh I don’t know (seriously) a customer can’t get freshly cooked gizzards ok then the two pieces of chicken were nowhere near being golden brown in fact it looked as if it was cooked in old grease this location has been my favorite but lesson learned I don’t plan on returning until they can get their stuff together I would have loved to post a picture of what I was served but for some reason it won’t let me attach it! I don’t usually do reviews but when I’m spending my hard earned money I expect better than what I received!!!!

Went to drive thru because I live 36 miles away. ordered 2 piece chicken and decided to start eating my chicken leg on the road . Something didn't taste right so I checked and it was still raw. Mark the store manager was very disrespectful and incompetent. We had freezer burnt food would not give us a refund would not here us out or give us an exchange on the food. He threatened to call the cops after I asked for a refund and all he could say was that it was hearsay. I have never been so disrespected and appalled by a place that claims to be a Christian establishment. Ordered food the other day and there was a huge fly in my sweet tea. After I called to tell the manager about it he was very nonchalant about it and didn’t even offer to give me another sweet tea not that I wanted another one after that but not a coupon or anything. Flies are disgusting and I know things happen but at least try to lead with good customer service.

At 9/10/25 4:30 I went through the drive through. I ordered my food it was $28.00. My food was luke-warm all of it. The gravy, the mashed potatoes, the chicken. I ordered a roll and but got biscuits (got a hockey puck)

On 9/7 we ordered 8 pc fish meal, fish was dry and rubbery, brought meal back, spoke to Mgr. Mark he initially said needed product when reached for bag of food, he then came up with a different excuse for not exchanging, brought meal back again on the 8th said Mark was still there, again would not exchange, not seeking entire meal just fish. Mark adamant would not replace. Not asking for money, just want fish cooked properly .

If you’re going to charge $0.50 for ranch, at least make sure it’s actually included with the order. I’m tired of paying for extras like ranch and never receiving them. On top of that, the chicken tonight tasted like it had been sprayed with chemicals it was awful. I’m sick of paying more and more while the food quality and service just keep going downhill. I gave Chicken Express one last chance. They disappointed me again and for the last time. The chicken has no seasoning. No salt or pepper, nothing. That is just basic cooking 101. Once food is cooked without seasoning you can't really add anything to make it taste good. I went at 6:27 p m and ordered the 12 piece mixed, just the chicken with no sides through the drive through. I should have looked at the food before driving away but I didn't. I live 30 miles away and when I arrived home and opened the box I realized the chicken looked old and overcooked. My family and I tried to eat it but it was too hard and actually cracked when biting into it. We ended up throwing it away. I used to love Chicken Express but in the last few years it has changed and not for the better. The service has also declined throughout this timeframe. When complaining about the food I get attitude and no acknowledgement of crappy food and service. I looked at the receipt and was going to call to get a refund but I saw at the bottom of the receipt the following statement. "We are proud of the products we offer. Any issues with our products require a receipt and the product returned in order for us to resolve the issue." I had already thrown the food away and I could have taken it from the trash and took it back to the restaurant but was actually fearful of them trying to sell it to someone else. I wasn't going to drive back to Lubbock and just looked at my charge of $33.43 as a lesson finally learned and a goodbye to Chicken Express for good. The location went to is located at 210 Slide Road but I have gone to the other one off University avenue and 82nd street and the one off 82nd and Milwaukee just to compare and it all sucks. Goodbye Chicken Express, I will miss your jalapeno poppers a little bit.

Today I went to chicken express at this location. I had ordered a 16 piece family chicken strip meal and a #3 meal with all breast side of mash potatoes and fries. They forgot my fries and mash so I went into the dine in for my sides. They ended up giving me someone else’s order and I didn’t realize until I got to work. I called them and let them know they messed up my order. They laughed and thought it was a joke. One guy said can I come back I told them no I am at work until 7am. They said if I want a refund to bring the food in the morning, while laughing. Then another guy named mark had got on the phone, told me that they will send me a gift card I asked when would I received that gift card and they said idk so nonchalant while having an attitude. I also asked him who was I speaking with before him and he said idk they just handed me the phone like how do you not know your coworkers name.?? I then told them that his attitude was so unprofessional and he said who cares and started laughing. I asked for the number to corporate and he said no and told me to have a nice day. I will never go back to that place again EVER…! If this is how chicken express runs they business and let their employees talk to customers any kind of way. That place should either be shut down or have they employees go through some kind of better training.

What happened to chicken express? We were served chicken breading as strips. The pic is after we had thrown away half of our meal. We paid $40 for our order, you can eat out at a nice place for that amount. $17 for a 7 strip combo, can you believe that? Macaroni was cold and old. Strips were dry and chicken was non existent. Shoved our extra rolls into a bag with our mashed potatoes and gravy smashing them up, like what the heck. Over the years these locations have all gone downhill. If you go during peak hours you might get fresh food but as other reviews say you'll deal with rude employees and wait times you wouldn't believe. This location sucks.

I went to chicken express today when I noticed my chicken strips were still pink in the middle! When I went to tell the manager she said it was cooked and they couldn’t cook them any longer when I recall her saying they needed to drop some for my mothers order! Not even 2 minutes we’re up and they were done?? Yeah I don’t think so this is the worst experience I’ve had a this location!! I eat here often but not anymore!!
