Opinions de V6 Coffee Bar Marathon
Being the only breakfast place means they could have terrible food and still have customers. But that's not the case, the food was really good!
Much better food than expected in a town w/ so few options. Super nice staff. Attached to a gallery & high-end souvenir shop.
Consistently great menu of classic dishes for breakfast and lunch, made with quality ingredients and with care. Tow particular breakfast standouts: Huevos Rancheros; Biscuit and Gravy. Coffee is from Big Bend roasters and the barrista is very skilled on the cappuccino machine. Very much worth the detour!
After a night spent in the [Big Bend] Panther Junction parking lot, this was an ethereal treat! Coffee was the best within a 300-mile radius. Tuna and pita chips were well above par-and a good portion for the price. Service was quite nice, as honestly I didn't know what to expect from this remote city. Seriously, go here. I can't recommend enough.
A really nice stop for all kinds a real nice coffee, cortado, capucino, latte and breakfast choices also to go options.
We came here every morning during our time in Marathon! Would highly recommend the cold brew and the green smoothie (can’t remember the name. It has spinach and avocado, but is still sweet). Super clean, nice staff, and quick service.
Excellent sandwich and best ever cesar salad. Welcoming atmosphere.
Best speciality coffee in town and the food is amazing too!!! Very friendly staff
Bring your appetite because the breakfast burritos are big and had a nice flavor!
This place has amazing coffee and simple but tasty breakfast options. I enjoyed my iced latte with oat milk! Ingredients were fresh, location was clean.Highly recommend this cafe.
They serve a delicious Mexican Mocha latte and Blueberry muffins
Love the vibe and the ham, egg, cheese croissant was absolutely incredible.
Wow! This meal was such a nice surprise. I was excited to find gluten-free bread and delicious breakfast food so close to Big Bend. It was a great respite after a few days of camping. I got the traditional breakfast with bacon - the eggs were cooked just right and the bacon was nice and crispy. While I loved this place, I will say that the coffee was all served a bit too hot, and tasted a bit burnt to me - like it had been brewed with water at a full boil.
This place is a treat on a road trip back to SA from Marfa. Stopped in for a late breakfast, and glad I did. The Green Chili and Chorizo eggs were epic. The smoothies were the best I've had. and the gift shop/art gallery was so cool! Just stop in, you'll love it too!!!
What a great find in a small town. We didn’t know this place was here until another place we we’re going to try was closed. The staff here at V6 Coffee Bar were very friendly and helpful. There were four of us and each ordered something different. I had the breakfast burrito and my wife had Avocado Toast, bacon and eggs. The burrito was very large and hot. Plenty of food per portion. Prices are good and place is very clean and modern looking. And their coffee drinks were perfect. I highly recommend V6 Coffee Bar if you’re in the area.
V6 Coffee in Marathon is a strong breakfast stop in far West Texas. The coffee is solid and dependable—maybe not the highlight of the visit, but a good way to start the morning. Where V6 really stands out is the food. The migas are excellent—well-seasoned, flavorful, and satisfying without being overly heavy. The fresh cinnamon rolls are wonderful: soft, warm, and perfectly sweet. The herb cream cheese is a must on toast and adds a simple but memorable touch. Service is genuinely great—friendly, attentive, and efficient. Combined with the thoughtfully designed space, it’s an easy and worthwhile stop before heading to Big Bend. We are there twice and enjoyed both visits.
We stopped by for a quick bite and were glad we did! It’s a cozy coffee bar near the east entrance/exit of Big Bend. The warm salad bowl is well made and delicious (it is vegan based and has option to add chicken for protein). The coffee is fresh roasted and tastes great too. They also sell the coffee beans.
Go if you're close to Marathon! Excellent coffee, nice people.
Very cute little coffee shop and the owners were super friendly and we had a great conversation. The drinks were yummy and we took it to-go and hit the road! They had a lot of options available for milk replacements as well.
After a wonderful experience in Big Bend National Park, we wanted a non camp breakfast and this little place fit the bill. Delicious latte and the avocado toast was so good. Thick whole grain bread with crunchy crust. My husband had the Cowboy Burrito with avocado and it was so well prepared that he almost ordered a second. You won't be disappointed if you choose this little gem.
Did a quick stop at this cute coffee shop to grab some food and coffee before heading back to Austin, and it was a great decision. Super friendly staff, plenty of drink options and great breakfast menu. I ordered a flavored latte with vanilla and oat milk, and a cowboy burrito. Everything was delicious! Highly recommend to make a stop here on your way to Big Bend.
We absolutely loved this coffee shop. The coffee was spectacular, and the service was super friendly. I asked advice for a few places to see while in town, and their recomendations were perfect.
Second time to visit this awesome little coffee/tea/wine shop- The owner is from New Zealand and he is SO NICE...the tea is the best tea I have ever had before as well...Especially with the hibiscus flavoring in it...(the lavender sugared shortbread cookies were to die for too) Great atmosphere, great snacks, sandwiches. and overall a nice chill out place- super clean too!
A quaint and refined café with a wonderful gift shop next door. I appreciate that their lunch options range from smoothies and salads to heavier and more substantial meals. Their menu featured vegetarian and vegan options. The coffee was delicious and sourced locally. Restrooms were clean and the service was stellar - would highly recommend if you are looking for a bite to grab before/after embarking on a long drive.
We had a great lunch here the other day. I have a food allergy. They were very accommodating. The service was great! The atmosphere was fantastic and the food was delicious!
Open early and excellent for coffee and breakfast. Fresh and tasty. You cant pick a bad dish! Staff is super friendly and nice. Clean, and fresh feel in the shop. Attached to a gift shop. Not much in Marathon, but this is a definite must stop.

We stopped in for lunch and were blown away by how good the food was! This is a must visit for lunch . We had the turkey Rueben and the warm power bowl. I highly recommend this coffee shop. You will thank me !
V6 in Marathon, TX is an unexpected gem—serving excellent coffee, delicious food, and offering a clean, welcoming atmosphere. With both indoor and outdoor seating, it’s a perfect stop whether you're passing through or staying nearby. Way better than you'd expect for such a remote town—don’t miss it!
We stopped in V6 for lunch on our way through Marathon. The staff was super friendly and the quesadillas were amazing. It was a great place to stop.
Best breakfast spot in town! I had an amazing burrito and delicious avocado toast. Isaac makes the best lattes, and Holey was incredibly kind.
Amazing coffee shop! One of my favorites I've been to in a while. Great food, great service, great wifi, great music – couldn't ask for more! I had a great vegetarian bowl for lunch if you're looking for options in the area!

Cinnamon honey decaf latte with oatmilk was good! But the Caramel latte was pretty weak and bland. Odd to have such a difference in the two drinks. All the breakfast foods were delicious! Service was a bit slow. But the games were a nice touch for the kids during the wait! The photo is a little of each dish we shared...biscuits and gravy, chorizo scramble, traditional breakfast.
Ordered a cortado, Mexican mocha latte, and the green chile chorizo skillet. The cortado wasn’t traditional, but I greatly enjoyed it nonetheless. The cinnamon in the mocha was just perfect. The skillet was good, not quite the “green chile” experience I was expecting (there was only a hint of green chile flavor), but thoroughly enjoyable. I ordered the corn tortillas, but the flour tortillas my brother ordered looked even better.
We arrived in Marathon around noon, and most places were closed. Seems like they open at 6 pm. The coffee shop was the only option. It’s located on the Main Street, by the Gage Hotel. They had a few sandwich and wrap options, served with chips or pasta salad, also tea and smoothies. We had the turkey club and a cheesesteak quesadilla. Food was tasty and was served quickly. Atmosphere is nice with some outdoor seating.
We didn't have time for food, but the breakfast plates coming out looked darn good. Drip coffee was B+, daughter loved her latte. There's an interesting ctocksky shop attached that has a range of knickknacks including cards, books, and expensive wall art. Would certainly come back to try breakfast if we get the chance.
This was a great surprise! Good lunch options and nice vibe, there is a super cute local souvenir store right next to it that is worth visiting.
Cute spot, ok service, kind of a gem after being a food desert

Service was terrible - 2 girls working there were concerned with their phones then customers. My order ended up being wrong and when I told the one that took my order she told me I was wrong. Then gave so much attitude and talked about me to the other girl right in front of me while I waited for her to correct. Very disappointing and not what you expect from The Gage.

This photo is half of my $13 turkey Ruben from v6. After eating the first half of the turkey Ruben I thought boy, sure didn’t taste any turkey. So I peel the second uneaten half of it to reveal that little sliver of whatever the heck that is. I actually had to take a moment to realize that was the turkey on the sandwich. Like I get brickvault is expensive so maybe get a new supplier. But that amount of turkey on a turkey Ruben is no less than embarrassing and a lot more of something else. It’s quite shameful. Slapping a bunch of jarred kraut and dumping dressing on it doesn’t do anything for it. It’s so bad, how that leaves the kitchen is beyond me.
We stopped here early Sunday morning. It was very busy. We ordered 2 large lattes (cinnamon honey and Mexican mocha), a small coffee and a medium hot chocolate. As everyone's drinks were ready the young lady making the drinks, was placing them on the counter, was calling out the order name and what the beverage was. Our small coffee was ready first, after a few more minutes the 2 large drinks were placed on the counter and my name was called out but she never said what drink was what, as I approached the counter I noticed they weren't labeled either, so I asked the lady which coffee was which, she looked at me annoyed and said "just open them". I was at a loss of words and could not believe the attitude she had. We waited a few more minutes and my daughter's medium hot chocolate never came. I approached the cashier and brought it to her attention, she didn't even acknowledge me and walked directly to the lady who was making the drinks and told her we were missing the hot chocolate, the lady making the drinks turns around annoyed and says "I already made it but I guess I'll make it again." At that point I decided to walk outside and it wasn't until we were already on the road that I realized she gave me the hot chocolate instead of my latte. The visit was so disappointing, if you dislike your job that much, do something else.
