The Best Mexican Restaurant! Great food and great loving service. God has blessed this fine place to eat and Santos, the manager, and our server, Julio are very special!!
My family went here for the first time on a Friday afternoon. I was really impressed by the quality and flavor of the food. We had the crazy nachos, street tacos, and two burrito meals. The food was far more flavorful than the "authentic" Mexican restaurants that we've visited in the area. I guess Tex-Mex is the way to go out here in McKinney. Our server, Diana, did a great job and was very attentive as well. We'll definitely be returning.
One of the first places we wanted to eat after the big ice storm. Anamoas consistently has excellent food and service. And a great lunch menu!
The food is delicious. They used to have a location in Coppell, now I got to the one in McKinney. I especially lo w rheir brisket tacos, but everything I've tried is great. The staff is helpful and attentive. The atmosphere is nice and I like their paintings.
My husband & I came to McKinney on an errand today. We wanted Mexican Food & Anamia's was suggested on a Google search. We tried it & were so happy we did. The food is AMAZING ! The cheese enchiladas with meat sauce were the best enchiladas I have eaten in years! My husband had the Tacos Al Carbon & loved them. The service was fast & friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
First time visiting Anamia's in Mckinney. Marleny, and Pedro were very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and flavorful. The Margarita swirl was tasty also! Worth a try!! Thanks Marleny and Pedro for a pleasant experience!
I go here quite often and am very happy with their food and service. They have good brisket tacos, carne asada and their chips and salsa is very good. They also have really good sweet and unsweet tea (dark & rich flavor).
Their enchiladas, fajitas, and tacos all taste authentic and come in generous portions. The service is consistently friendly and fast. Marleny really takes care of you and makes you feel welcome. The restaurant has a clean, comfortable atmosphere that works great for both family dinners and casual nights out
We love Anamia’s! We wish there was a location closer to us. We live in Rowlett and drive 40 minutes one way. It’s that good! We’ve tried everything on the menu as we’ve been visiting one of their locations for years. Everything is delicious.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! The Barrio Bowl is amazing and I will always come back! Service is great, they always have a quick service too. Food is hot and amazing no matter if you take it to go or sit in and dine in. Absolutely MUST TRY!!
Update 10/21/25: Alex is still here and the service and food are still AMAZING! We love coming to see him and have some delicious food. The chimichanga is huge, Kelli’s queso is delicious and service is top notch. The manager usually stops by to check on things too. We love this place! Update: Alex is the best server here! We love coming to see him. The food is great but Alex is the reason we come. We can’t wait to come back to have some great food and impeccable service! This place is AMAZING from the food to the top notch service!!! We will be back for sure. Putting this in the regular rotation now that we found this hidden gem!
🗣️ New Restaurant Review: Annamia’s Mckinney One of my favorite restaurants is Annamia’s in Prosper. Last night, a friend and I dined at Annamia’s in McKinney and had a fantastic experience enjoying their outdoor patio. The ambiance outside was inviting, with a cozy and relaxing vibe, perfect for enjoying a meal on a pleasant evening. I ordered the Salmon Parilla, and it was a delightful dish and one I order every time! The salmon was perfectly grilled—crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The seasoning was well-balanced, enhancing the natural flavors of the fish. Accompanying the salmon was a Yucatán slaw, which provided a refreshing, tangy contrast to the rich fish. The slaw had just the right amount of crunch and zest, adding complexity to the plate without overpowering the main attraction. The dish also came with grilled vegetables, which were charred beautifully, offering a smoky flavor that paired excellently with the salmon. The vegetables were cooked to the right texture, maintaining a bit of bite without being too soft. Overall, the combination of the salmon, slaw, and vegetables made for a well-rounded and satisfying meal. My friend ordered the tropical salad, which was ample! She opted for the grilled chicken in the side. The chicken had a really nice char and a great flavor. There is indoor and outdoor seating available, and a small bar. I liked the painting selections on the wall and the decor that they went with. I liked the nod to Frida like the Prosper location. Sitting on the patio elevated the experience even further. The outdoor seating was comfortable, and the atmosphere was lively yet relaxed. It's a great spot for both a casual dinner and a special night out. If you’re in McKinney and looking for a place that serves delicious food in a pleasant environment, I highly recommend Annamia’s—especially if you're a fan of fresh, flavorful salmon dishes! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Food, music, service ALL were incredible. Best omelet of my life. Allowed me to switch things out however I wanted. My partners salad had some of the best charred steak I've ever had. Music was super enjoyable for the atmosphere. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Can't recommend Anamias enough!
I was immediately impressed with the bright, modern dining room. It was a pleasant departure from the usual Mexican restaurant theme. The menu was full of unique dishes that left me wishing I could order three dishes to try for myself. The service was friendly and prompt. We didn't wait very long for our meals. I really liked the modern cultural music that was played throughout our visit. The brisket they serve is succulent. The brisket quesadilla is a great choice.
If you’re in McKinney Tx and looking for a Tex-Mex restaurant, look no further than. This family run operation is providing exceptional food and service. I judge tex- Mex restaurants by their enchiladas. My experience rating restaurants by this dish has proven reliable. You can’t fake the most basic of Mexican food. These enchiladas were perfectly made, The con-carne and cheese toppings were delicious. The soft cheese taco offering shows they are authentic tex-mex recipes. The chips and salsa were fresh and savory. Make sure to order the at your table made fresh guacamole ( very entertaining). The cup of queso is a good appetizer too. The fajitas combo is off the chart . The MIA comes with two enchiladas two different toppings, crispy beef taco, rice , and beans. Good atmosphere inside and nice patio area outside. The bar is separate and attended by knowledgeable bar tender. The server, wait staff, chef, and manager are the best team I’ve had in years! Overall this establishment rates in the top 10 Percentile Don’t wait too long to dine here yourself See you there soon .
I have been there twice and was impressed by the atmosphere, eclectic and elegant food, and service. This is an overlooked place in McKinney.
This is not what most west/ southern Texans know as Tex-Mex, but they do have a good menu, I don't recommend the cheese enchilada,(it's chewy) not what we're use to. They conform to their clients. The spinach/ chicken enchilada 👍,just ask for the poblano cream sauce and some jalapenos, if you like spicy. I will say try the Savignon blanc from New Zealand. Superb with any meal.
We haven’t dined in at Anamia’s Tex-Mex yet, but we order their chips and salsa almost every other week (sometimes weekly!) because they’re just that good. It’s become a regular in our house. Their soup is also a go-to for us — especially when my son isn’t feeling well. It’s actually the only soup he asks for when he’s sick, which says a lot. The flavor is always delicious, comforting, and consistent. The only suggestion I would make is to consider shredding the chicken and cutting the vegetables into smaller pieces. When people aren’t feeling well — especially with a sore throat — they usually want something easy to swallow and not too chunky. I usually end up shredding the chicken myself and blending the vegetables smaller at home, but I do wish I didn’t have to. I think making that small adjustment would make an already great soup even more comforting for those who order it while sick. Overall, we really enjoy ordering from here and appreciate the consistency. I hope this suggestion is taken into consideration!
Getting an average of 4 stars (the food was quite good, service not so much). Went in for an 8:30pm dinner. Waited and waited for someone, anyone to notice that I was waiting to be seated. Seems like there were about 5-6 visible workers but they all had other things that they were doing back in the kitchen including the host, bartender and any servers. Finally got seated. Looked at the menu, made a choice and waited another 10 minutes for my server to notice. I knew exactly what I wanted by then so I ordered Jerry’s Chicken. Finally got some chips from someone new. Jerry’s Chicken was quite good actually. Nobody came to offer refill on my water after being served my food. My next interaction was an additional 20 minutes later when they noticed I had my card out to pay. I never saw a check. Second mistake. Got charged for a “sprite” for water. But I wasn’t going to contest it since I literally didn’t want to waste another 15 minutes of my time waiting for this to get fixed. OWNER… if you see this, you have a potentially wonderful establishment that is being hampered by your employees lack of their willingness to scan the guest area often. The “go back in a few minutes” rule that servers usually employ isn’t working here. That few minutes is turning out to be a very long time for some reason. In the end I was charged $23 plus tip for one entree and water. Yes. I did leave a tip. I’m not a monster but I do expect better service. Food was really good though.
Decent food, I would say maybe a little to pricey for the quality. For the Shrimp Fajitas I liked the veggies, but I was disappointed in finding only 5 shrimps. The red salsa had huge pieces of tomato with hard skin on, never saw this before. The rest was ok, I added an extra star for Diego who was very nice and took care of us.
Was excited to try a new place with my elderly mother. She rarely tries new things and of course I wanted this to be a good experience. We came in at around 11:30 for an early lunch. Took about 5min for someone to come seat us which was a little frustrating but not a deal breaker—maybe fewer employees at that hour. Got drinks and chips (salsa a little too spicy for us) but then a long wait to order and again another long wait to get food with no service from waitress in interim. Food when arrived was good—3-4/5. But then to get the check—wow. Waitress was siting at another table and ignoring us for about 10 minutes. Finally came over after waving at her twice which I hate to do. We had asked for some something to go and that didn’t come out with check. Had to order it again and another long wait. Not sure if they are short on employees but it doesn’t help if waitress is sitting at another table for so long—I can understand couple of minutes but that was ridiculous. So this place is off the list for me. Perhaps you’ll have better luck.
