I was in town to visit someone in ICU. I needed something kid-friendly (tenders!). I ordered spicy crispy tenders through the app. However, the app switched my order to the blackened tenders. I called in, and they told me that the order came in as such. I checked the app and it showed that my order had indeed been switched over. Denise invited me in to correct the order. The team were very accommodating. In the end, Denise advised me to keep the original order, which I ended up giving to some homeless people nearby. They were grateful. Thanks guys! I returned for a smaller order and the service was just the same. I do recommend.

It was great. At the beginning they told us that they were short in staff yet they took our order and gave it to us quickly. The only two things that I would have to say is that the tables weren't supper clean and we asked our order for here but they gave it to us to go instead which is 2 minimal things understandable under the circumstances they were on. There was seriously a lot of people.

Dine here occasionally but pick up doordash from here more often. Workers are always nice communicative and do their best even when things are working against them

I had to update my previous comment which was a negative coment. I came back on 11.16.25 around 7;00pm and I had a great experience with customer service. They treated me very good. The chicken is always good. I have to give it up to all staff that was working on that day specially the manager, whose name I don't know, she was really nice..

Anyways the food was amazing spicy now the freeze I wouldn't call them cajun fries at all because there ain't no Cajun to him they're just a little seasoned maybe. But other than that the biscuits are hella soft and moist the chicken is hella good

Very good spicy chicken sandwich. The chicken was juicy and thick, but quite fried and greasy. I also suspect that the spiciness is just from the sauce and not any spice that is part of the chicken, which was slightly disappointing compared with chicken sandwiches that I though were more favorable from Wendy’s or Shake Shack.

The young man who took our order didn't make eye contact, mumbled & had problems telling us what items on the menu were. The food we bought was great! There is also a nice selection of sodas/drinks. The other customers, whom we talked to were very friendly.

This place has grown on me. It can be inconvenient sometimes when they are out of certain foods, but that seems more of a supply chain problem, than a store problem. The staff is always professional, friendly, and accommodating. The food is tasty, and the sauces are good and plentiful.

I have to tell you first I'm not in to chicken sandwiches but I had to see what all the fuss was about. I read the that everyone has the better chicken sandwich. So I decided to go to Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen and check out their chicken sandwich. I gotta tell you that it was probably the best chicken sandwich that I've had. So give them a try. You'll like it. Their hot crunchy and juicy.

The restaurant was clean and inviting. It's a nice family place to eat. The bathrooms were quite clean, due to the fact that they were both locked and you had to get a key. We ordered and and it took 5-10 mins for us to get our order since it was larger and to go. The food was good but I felt like my chicken tenders were a bit old or the oil it was cooked in might have been going that direction. The customer service was satisfactory. Overall this restaurant is good.

I prefer Popeyes over KFC! Chicken is good and their butterfly shrimp is great as well. Customer service is always good for me and the wait times are not bad. Food was always nice and fresh during my visits. Fresh fast food, friendly service, and decent wait times especially when you are lazy to cook and on the go.

I really want to like the new chicken sandwich more than I do. The first time I had it was pretty good, but the second time had waaaay too much sauce, which made it quite soggy. Just wish the consistency was better in preparation. The chicken tenders are still my favorite item on the menu. It's a convenient location from the freeway and the line moves quickly, so that's a plus.

Been here a few times definitely better chicken than KFC! The quality is good overall but not consistent across all visits. However, the people who work there are fantastic and offer great customer service which is rare these days especially in fast food establishments. I'm not a big fan of fried food but the food is quite tasty along with their sides especially their green beans!

My first time at a popeyes. Had the spicy chicken sandwich which was very good and juicy but nothing too incredible. Otherwise seems like pretty standard fare for fast food. Will go again Second time is just as good. Drive through line tends to be a little long but it's way better than the in and out across the street

I go here solely because of their spicy chicken sandwich. They do good fried chicken, and their biscuits and sides are tasty, but they're pricey. The sandwich is simple but the balance of flavors is perfect. A piece of battered, fried chicken breast, NOT a formed meat pattie, on a bun with slices of bread and butter pickle and a spicy mayo sauce. Mm mm.

The chicken sandwich tasted great. I ordered a chicken sandwich combo, which included coleslaw and a soda. Yum! The counter sales person was friendly and repeated my order back, assuring both of us the order was correct. This Popeyes restaurant had clean tables and spotless floors.

Has potential like the other Popeyes I been too, but they come off standoffish if you come before closing. Which I understand, but if they close at 10 they shouldn’t have the doors locked at 930 and make people wait in the drive through just to tell them they are closed.

The chicken strips were ok, I ordered spicy, didn't really have much spice. Didn't get any butter or honey with the biscuits. Didn't get enough sauce for the strips. And the service area felt crowded. Did not have a great first-time experience.

Their $5 chicken deal is great. Wait time might take longer than 10 min. Don't try going there if you are on your lunch break because it will take a while before you get your food. I usually double check my order in case I get someone else order. Love the food though. Keep up the good work Popeyes and maybe in the future the wait time will get fix.

I had the $5 box which comes with 3 strips, biscuit, and a side. I prefer chicken that's not as crispy as it comes. The Cole slaw was okay, nothing special. I didn't try the biscuit. The place was clean. It's a pretty small space and might be crowded during a rush. The staff was friendly and when they mentioned that the hot strips wouldn't be ready for another 5 minutes I said I didn't know that the box was only spicy. They were nice enough to give me non spicy strips which I appreciated and thanked them. But again, the chicken looks like the commercial and is super crunchy. I just don't prefer them that way.

The staff here has minimum knowledge of how to deal with customers. They are disrespectful to customers by talking about them when they drive off. It's a total disgrace being in the franchise business. Please clean it up. Other Popeyes are not like here. I like the location and the setup. Clean. Just respect your paying customers and I think you'll be fine. Prices are a bit high during pandemic.

The chicken is delish!!! Popeyes cannot be matched. However, I have visited this location a few times and the staff always leaves much to be desired. I know this is a fast food restaurant and I'm not expecting 5 star service, but let's just be nice to each other and acknowledge that we both exist in a shared space. Every new meeting with a human being is an opportunity to be kind or be aloof or be a jerk. Let's be kind please.

Manager wouldn't use coupons available. When other employees will paid full price only to get 3 wings and a breast when asking for white meat manager is the worst manager I have seen running a restaurant she didn't care if she gets the sale are not treated me like a second class citizen

Very disappointed in this restaurant. I went 40 minutes before closing time and was told they were already closed. They said the manager already pulled the drawer because they were not enough employees working. That is absolutely ridiculous for any Popeyes restaurant to close down that early. Management really needs to get it together. The food is good at times. They have a $5 box where you get three pieces of chicken for $5. It was a joke. There was one small piece of chicken and then a chicken wing and a drumstick. The chicken wing was tiny with all bone no meat whatsoever. The drumstick was even worse it was the size of my thumb with absolutely no meat whatsoever. I was going to take it back and complain but why should I waste my gas. It seems to me management needs to step up train their employees and get it together because I'm sure they lose a lot of business because of poor management!

Not the place to go when in a hurry. But definitely faster than the In N Out across the street. Sometimes don't have the things you want. Especially the chicken sandwiches, which is a common item, runs out too fast. Would highly recommend more bulk orders delivered. Mac and cheese is sometimes a little overcooked. Overall, the food tastes how it should. The chicken is more than the usual amount than you can find at KFC. And it's perfectly breaded, not greasy, and NO BONES!

Negatives: 1. Just to go up and place my order it took 10 min! I almost walked out cause, but we were both so hungry so we Chanced it and stayed. It took an additional 18 min to get our food🙄 almost a half a hour. I mean fast food.. needs to be fast, especially for the price it costs! $33.75 for 2 people. I could of sat at a restaurant for that wait. The restroom was a little dirty. Paper towels on the floor. Positives: The people were really friendly, recommended their favorite sauces. Answered my food allergy questions. The inside of the restaurant was clean but no napkins, straws, utensils nothing. You have to get everything over the counter and interrupt their order. And it's busy. They have a drive through and a very tiny parking lot. There is handicap access. No changing table in the restroom. I didn't see high chairs. I usually take a picture of the food but I was starving. It was good and looked good too. I got a 3 chicken meal with a side of mashed potatoes with gravy and a biscuit and a strawberry chill drink.

The food here is fine - if not great most of the time. The customer service is POOR. They seem a little understaffed and overworked - the drive-thru is always clogged. But my issue is that I pre-order and pre-pay on the app and they NEVER get my food ready until I show up. What is the point of ordering ahead of time then? To make it worse - yesterday, a woman came in and ordered a TON of food and she got her order within 2-3 minutes of finishing her order. How does that happen?!?! Meanwhile I have to wait for my order - which I already ordered and paid for. The guy even said that he was getting mine ready - which he wasn't. Makes no sense. To compound that, he gave me my drinks and no straws - I had to wait a few minutes until someone showed up so I could get straws. I wish I could say that I won't be going back but not many other good options in the area. I will say that I'll be going a lot less and not even bother with the app.

Over price, not organized. My daughter bit into the chicken tender an tasted nothing but oil. Loved the biscuits an red beans, but they don't fill up the cup they come in, only half way filled up. The jambalaya looked nothing like the picture. Fries are awsome. We won't be going there soon. They also ran out of chicken nuggets. They didn't offer sauce with our tenders.

Stopped by for a quick bite while waiting for a smog check. Found hair in my food, showed the manager he didn't even apologize or comment😝 not sure if he understands English (didn't even blink when I was talking to him). Maybe he zoned out & was just standing there thinking about his next break 🤔 Makes me wonder if the chicken was dropped on the floor, stepped on, or a disgruntled employee just said enough😡 Long wait time on food too 👎 Never had a problem with their food. Should've snapped a picture. Maybe it happened at the factory, the hair was inside the batter & part of the hair was sticking out. Made me sick that I ate the other pieces before finding the hair. Yuck 🤮

Me traveling with my job I'm always excited with Popeyes, Well this is the first time I've visit a Popeyes Chicken in a long time and was totally unsatisfied.

Food wasn't good at all only thing that was tasty was the machine and cheese but you dont get alot for the price which is a rip off you barely get a small spoon for each for a family of 4 basically ,chicken had no flavor ,dry ,mash potatoes was more gravy then potatoes didn't like how it tasted at all ,biscuits hard as a rock and super dry and they also didn't give us butter 😅 yea we won't be going to Popeyes ever again

The restaurant is very clean and looks to be good, but very poor service. I ordered on the app and decided to pick up in store. There's no line to order, but there is a group of people waiting on their food. I see large piles of mild, spicy chicken and tenders cooked and ready to package, but nobody was preparing orders. It's just sitting there. I'm not sure why we all had to wait if the food is all ready to go. If I want Popeyes, I'm going to drive up to Livingston and get it there. Not coming back.

Food was okay but $4.19 for a regular size fries is not worth it for the amount of fries you get.

Chicken was good but only had regular available (spicy was a 12 min wait) biscuit was incredibly salty, coleslaw was way to wet iced tea tasted off. This was the Merced location. I have been to other locations and everything was good. At least the chicken is consistent.

Just save your time and money go somewhere else. Tried it for the 1st time. Order trough drive thru they made me wait for my food on the side. Once the food was out. They did not give me forks or napkins with my meals. Really disappointed. My chicken was dried and chewy dough like texture. My shrimp was okay. The only thing good was my cold coke.

I have been here twice and both times they forgot a majority of my order. Once it was shrimp meal. This time 3 chicken sandwiches. Girl on the phone told me to call back in 15 to 20 min to speak to manager because shes on lunch. They wanted me to wait to to speak to someone about the food that should've been in my damn bag. Horrible this place deserves zero stars.

The white ladythats the manager at night there is very poorly customer service. I was door dashing for a customer and an employee had let me in to pick up my DoorDash order. She told the manager the manager came and took my customers order away from me and told me that I had to wait in the drive-through and I was in a drive-through for about 10 minutes with about eight cars of head of me, very poor customer service. I do not highly recommend them at night time especially if you’re doing DoorDash or pick up deliveries or anything

Was there for lunch on Friday about a little after noon. There were three of us trying to get lunch. First person orders pays gets her meal second person orders and goes her drink. I am the 3rd person to order and go get my drink. Once me and second person get our drink we wait. They have given meals to 4 other eat in customers while we wait a little more thinking maybe there's a hold up in our food. After a while I see the lady still packing for only eat in. I go up to the counter and ask her excuse me do you ladies still have our order pending? She looks confused takes out receipts and try to get our order together. However after two tries of switching out my order I still ended up with an in correct order. We never got our receipts back either. During this whole exchange there was another dine in food on the counter getting cold. No apologies were given or explanation why we were skipped so many times. If you go here make sure you have time to waste because you will probably have to wait while they try to fix your order.

First off, drink machine was out of 90% of options. Second, we waited over 20 minutes for our food. When we finally received the food, my coleslaw was warm! They had sat it on the tray and let it sit there the whole everything else was finishing. That is not only gross but a health hazard. Will not be eating here again!

We were at the Merced location about 2:30 p.m. on 3/28 for the first (and probably last) time. The place was really slow. They didn't honor our coupons and when we questioned it the counter girl said "I only work here, do you want to talk to the manager?" We declined, but felt her attitude was lacking. The tables were all in need of wiping - we wiped our own. The drink machine was out of the first 3 beverages that I tried. The one working bathroom was messy and had no t.p. The food was only okay. The chicken tenders coating wasn't crispy, it had a hard, stale crunch to it. The girl never asked me if I wanted sauce for them and I didn't think to ask for any until I noticed that it stated "No sauce" on the receipt. My husband went to the counter to get some and the girl was friendly and accommodating (not the same one who served us first). As we were eating we could hear the workers chatting and laughing behind the counter. We were surprised no one was cleaning tables or checking the bathroom. All in all not a good experience.

The service was slow, they forgot items, the food tasted like old grease, and the fries were inedible. The bathrooms were gross. Drive on and find another place to eat.

Drive through cashier wasn't friendly. I saw the guy that was cashing for dining area pick his nose real quick then wipe on his pants. He kept touching his nose and face after that. He was doing all that touching food preparing the boxes with food and touching money. The food was cold for waiting in line for 20min. The coleslaw tasted like old dish water. Minus 5 stars.

I've always loved Popeyes food and was so excited for it to come to my city. It's now been open two months. I've been in there five times and managed to get food three of those times. They are 0:3 on getting my order correct. The first time I went (two weeks after opening) they left out HALF of EACH COMBO I ordered. They are 1:3 on getting me food that's still warm.They are 4:4 on having only ONE cashier during the lunch hour rush, hence my having to leave twice without ordering. 2:2 on having absolutely no toilet paper in the ladies' room. Really. Who is running this place?

HORRIBLE customer service girl at the counter wouldn’t even look at my husband and tried to help other people who came in after him. When he tried to the manager about it she still didn’t care. It’s sad to see adults at like children in a work place like grow up and get some customer service training. Popeyes as a whole needs to really evaluate who there hiring because it’s rude people like that, that make a one time bad experience a life time of not ever wanting to go back. It’s not right and my husband did not deserve that. Also corporate was called and they will be investigating it. Also to that girl that was rude to my husband YOU NEED TO GO TAKE SOME CUSTOMER SERVICE CLASSES ASAP!! 😡

This place always runs out of chicken. It was barely 10:15 PM and they close at 11 talk about all they had was chicken sandwiches and a few biscuits left that's it. This place is horrible. If I can give you zero stars I would do zero stars management team please talk to your workers about cooking chicken because there's a lot of people in line but they loosing money cuz they don't want to cook chicken

The workers need to understand what their position requires. It’s Popeyes and a paying customer is supposed to be understood. It is your job to fulfill a customers order. The Mexican dude that works cashier is extremely unprofessional and charged for sauce packets. To my understanding this Popeyes location never charged for sauces. And anytime I’ve asked for extra it was given with no additional charge. So what’s with the pocketing customers cash? Save your time and money and go elsewhere at least another Popeyes location. This business isn’t worth your money and will steal from you. The owner needs to do serious revaluation on their staff.

Homeless always sleeping in this strip mall. The managers apparently allow it, as they've been there for days. Funny, In and Out and Taco Bell don't. Why? They immediately call and have them removed. Your losing good paying customers like me.

Our order was 100% Wrong. No sauce, no biscuits. The chicken was not spicy as ordered. Our side was coleslaw, and we got mashed potatoes. Usually, I check the order before leaving, but the drive-thru was so long the person two cars back was honking. I called the store when I got home, and they answered the phone and hung around up—avoiding calls. Extremely poor customer service skills for everyone at this location, and most have a nasty or rude issue. I also noticed that the store has not responded to any of the comments left for them. Most companies I have rated before always respond and either state that they will do better or that they were happy with my experience. Clearly, Popeyes doesn’t care what kind of reviews they receive. 🙄

Generally, I like to give good reviews and I love Popeyes but the Popeyes in Turlock across the street from where I live on Golden State is absolutely horrifying every single time I’ve tried to eat there five times. The chicken is so hard that it’s like a bouncy ball you get from the $.25 machine in the store. Employees are very rude, they’re very slow every time I go there they’re out of something this last time they were out of chicken now how are you going to be a chicken restaurant that your whole basis of your restaurant is off of chicken but you’re out of chicken that doesn’t make any sense to me that’s going to the store to buy shoes and go to Payless and they ran out of shoes Make it make sense this Popeye has been there for over two years and they are still doing horrible. I thought at first it was just because they are new. They can’t keep the same employee for more than a month. I know four people that I’ve worked there last time I went there to eat they were out of chicken and then I found a fingernail in my macaroni and cheese. When I tried to call to tell the person about it that answered the phone that worked there they left at me and hung up. I don’t know if it was a manager or regular employee but yeah, they laughed at me. I will never go there and eat again I’m done.

Every time I come here there’s always either missing food or it’s the wrong order. It’s the second time they say they’re going to remake it but never did they say it expired in two weeks to be able to redeem the food. WHEN IT WAS CLEARLY NOT MY MISTAKE. Unprofessional and a waste of money.

Very disappointing lately. Todays chicken sandwich was not even edible. Hard rubber slab of horrible meat that I couldn’t even bite into. If I hadn’t ordered drive-through it would of been returned. Second trip in the last month and both were disappointing, used to love these sandwiches but not anymore. I won’t be back, hope they get new management.

We went to this restaurant (take out) noon on Sunday. The initial wait staff was good and checked to make sure our order was right, but we had a completely different order when we got home. We ordered butterfly shrimp and got popcorn chicken. We ordered blackened fish, and got chicken strips. We ordered honey mustard and got none. We ordered green beans, and didn't get that either. They were out of fries. They were almost out of biscuits. They ran out of jambalaya. I understand that this is a new restaurant, but it seems like management could hold things together better. We saw other people returning their food, and we should have checked better too.

The only reason I still went was for the good coupons in the app. But logged in today to see that they hardly have any available. It sucks that fast food has gotten too expensive unless there's a good deal on the app and it sucks even more when they take away all the good deals. Being back the 4 can dine offers, please! It's too expensive out here.

When you order 2 tackle boxes and ain't got no tackle!!! Then the manager got an attitude talking bout some why didn't you come in after you got it....I shouldn't have to explain when I'm about to eat my food and I just now opened it. And this is what I see... EDIT: I went to get my replacement meal and the manager didn't write my name down and lied about what her name was. Who is that childish? I do not recommend.

It is the third time that I eat at this Merced location and the chicken there and IT DO NOT TASTE as good as any other location, my chicken was cold and plain in flavor and it is a couple of bucks more expensive than any other location, why???? I have no clue but definitely I will not go there any more. Merced location NOT recommended at all.

We had'nt been to Popeyes for quite some time so my husband and I decided to treat ourselves. Neither of us could get what we really wanted because they no longer served it. Also there was NO ice for our drinks!!! I'm pretty sure we will not go back to Popeyes again

Made an order, it went to the wrong place ie Merced versus Modesto. I called the Merced store personally because the app is stupid and doesn't let you cancel an order. I was told no problem and that I'd have to contact corporate for the refund it should be refunded within 2 days.Corporate which is EXTREMELY hard to get response from responded days then basically tells me to bad no refund, the order was over $40! I would have drove to get order an hour away if I was told no refund. Why say it was ok and I'd get refund within 48hrs and lie? Bad business, that's stealing!

Not only could they not manage to get the order right, but they also couldn’t manage to cook the food that I did get.

First time to a Popeyes, drove 25min from where I live to this location. Got there at 9pm..drive thru open till 10. No more chicken. No more ghost pepper or sweet n spicy for wings either. Finally ordered a tenders meal 12piece, paid for my order $40+ only to be told that there would be a wait for classic because all they had was spicy. I didn’t order spicy. I ask how long the wait will be, and come back to tell me there will not be any. Only spicy left. So wasted my time and left with no food. Popeyes..don’t know when I’ll be back. Thanks

Do not order from here. System crashes without allowing you to pay for food. Had to wait in drive through for 25 mins (not even long line) and when we arrived at window to pay we were unable to while our food sat in our bag. Employees gave no other way to pay and said all we could do was leave. No coupon given, no alternative solution. Just poor service. Would have rather waited in the wrap around line at In N Out.

Tonight at Popeyes location 1445 Martin Luther King Jr Way, Merced, CA 95340·68 ft I was stuck behind 3 cars unable to even order, due to first arriving and trying the lobby door at 9:57 pm they were locked with two people already inside ordering, so we went to the drive threw and asked what time lobby closes they said 10 pm I said it's still only 9:58 pm she said yeah but we close the doors soon as we cleaned it, I don't think it should have been locked till 10 pm if that's when lobby closes. And then me and the person who went there were each buying a meal and had coupons they refused to let us use two coupons cause we are in the same car didn't matter that I said we were making two separate orders and each paying for our own meal, they said they can not take more than one order per car, I find that hard to believe.

Terrible service from workers that just don’t want to work. Wanted to make two orders but I guys that is too much work for them so they flat out said they won’t do a second order from pure laziness. It’s sad that fast food companies are forced to pay these people $20 an hour but they still won’t do their job. Sad

Every time I get something here they forget something important. Just another establishment succumbing to the incompetence that plagues Merced.

I went in to get 3 pc chicken meal they got my order wrong and gave me 3 pc tinders I went back to change it and I got just some small wings no breast I had to go back again to fix it the manger came out being rude to me and told me if I went in one more time to get something fix they would have to charge me for there mistake !

We ordered 2 wraps and a lemonade, meat in wrap was rock hard and both wraps where cold as if they were just taken from fridge. Google said drive was closed and dine-in was open but when we arrived dine-in was closed and drive was open. App was bugged so we couldn’t order it and pick up.

They serve special fries with hairs which I didn’t ordered, complaint forwarded to the customer service but no resolution provided. Specifically ordered boneless wings but got with bone. Absolute waste of money, all gone to bin.

Horrible. This is supposed to be 1/4 of shrimp, no sauce. They dumped our fries in the bottom of the bag and the fries were cold. The lady at the window was rude.this horrible experience cost me $40. First time trying the merced location. Will not be going back. Wish I could get my money back. Will be leaving a review on yelp as well.

I asked for an item that was on the drive-through menu, and they said, "No, the advertisement was not for this month." When I got to the window, the girl was beyond rude, basically throwing the bag of food at me without saying a word. Then she slammed the window. I was surprised to be treated in such a manner when nothing negative was said. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.
