Opinions de Cafe Papillon Miami
Such a key spot for breakfast if you're in Miami!! The croissant with ham, egg and cheese is delicious and massive. I still think about it. My boys loved the waffles! Very reasonable priced. Can get busy and be a bit of a wait but it's worth it in my opinion!
One of my absolute favorite places to go nearly everyday! Highly recommend. Very pretty place with the best hot chocolate for blocks. Amazing orange juice and amazing eggs. Absolutely try the French toast as well!
I got the omelette sandwich and it was soo yummy. The caramel frappe was also very refreshing and sweet! Would definitely come back.
I was looking for some breakfast options when I found this place and I realized it was such a great decision. The size of their food portion, flavor and prices make me to come back at any time.
Lovely local cafe, we past it a few times on our walks to and from the hotel so we went in on our last 2 mornings for breakfast. You order and pay at the till, then take a seat. The decor is lovley, all neon signs and plants, theres a few TV screens but they were just showing a screensaver. The food was excellent and set us up for the day, think we skipped dinner we were that full. Crispy bacon and maple syrup is so nice. Infact thats why we went back a second time.
The food was good. And the service too. They serve a lot, so have this in mind when you order.
I definitely adored this place! The food was amazing and prices were very affordable. The service was great, friendly staff that make you feel at home. I had brunch with friends after taking a walk and it was definitely a lovely way to finish our morning. Excellent atmosphere with beautiful decoration and great choice of music to complement an ample variety of delicious plates!! I recommend the Dulce de Leche Croissant waffle 😄
Cafe Papillon is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure every detail is perfect. The food? Simply divine. The croissants are flaky perfection, and their coffee is some of the best I’ve had in Miami. Whether you’re here for breakfast, lunch, or just a quick coffee break, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy spot with top-notch service and delicious food! Five stars well-deserved.
We been in the restaurant several times, always great..This time around we went for tapas and wine, Yes! They are now open at night!! Isabel our server as always was amazing, she knows the menu upside down and her recommendations were on spot! Kudos to the Chef, delicious food, desserts were out of this world, having the chef visit our table and recommend their wines and food was a nice touch.
Fantastic, well priced food! Maya was super helpful and friendly. Thanks so much for greeting our group with a smile and fantastic service. We will all be back!!
Great location on side street. Quality of omelette- great. Portion size - good. Overall would recommend!!👍👍
Cafe Papillon is a unique gem in downtown Miami, across from Bayside Marketplace. Presenting as a chic, European-style café and wine bar, Papillon offers gourmet coffee, breakfast, and lunch. Pair your meal with a mimosa, wine, or beer. The coffee beats starbucks. Breakfast options include made-to-order omelettes, wraps, waffles and pastries. The sandwiches are also freshly made and can be paired with soup or salad. A group should try a Tapas platter to share. Cafe Pappilon is a pay before she you sit restaurant without waiters and offers indoor or outdoor seating. You can easily sit here for hours if you order a houkah to smoke after your meal. The manager, Osain, treats every customer like family; he earns an extra star for the rating by giving the Café a "fine-dining" feel. One critique would be the table bus-service. If a table hasn't been cleaned, just ask when you order. Overall, Café Papillon is a must-try for locals and tourists. Call ahead for take-out as each meal is made fresh with quality ingredients. Better yet, sit down, relax with a gourmet latté and people watch while you wait.
Excellent service, the ladies were very courteous and friendly and the food was delicious.I’m really recommend 😉
Fantastic place in Miami! The food is not only delicious but very filling. It is beautifully presented, and did I mention how delicious it is? Because it absolutely is! Great prices, clean, beautiful place! MUST TRY! Magda's Combo Breakfast is the best! We visited this place twice during our short two-day stay in Miami, and we wouldn't change it for anything else. 5 stars!!!!
Food was delicious and service was excellent definitely recommend. I have never seen a breakfast platter this good and with so much food we got the #83 platter and everything was good
The small intimate cafe barely contains their enormous menu. I had the omelette special which was paired by a delicious sauce and hot potatoes. The gentle piano and the sound of the chefs working made reading my new book on Effective Egoism so pleasant. This place is worth the walk from the overpriced hotels. If you are in a hurry, this is not the place for you.
We spent 4 days in Miami. From the new trendy area of Wynwood to South Beach to downtown Miami. We tried a new place to eat for almost every meal, every day. This place became our favorite almost instantly. Not because of anything fancy or trendy, but because of the amazing staff and amazing food (#17 of 100 restaurants in Miami on trip advisor) and a price unmatched in downtown Miami. Best Cuban Colada I've ever had! You'd think it would be a simple thing to make, but it wasn't until I had one here I realized how awful it was everywhere else. We ended up having breakfast here 3 of our 4 days because of how good the food and coffee are. Again, the food you get for the price is unmatched anywhere else in the area and quite honestly, we found the taste and quality of the food to be better than other places we visited, such as Bakan over in Wynwood, which is supposed to be a higher end dinning experience (the food was mediocre at best, hidden behind an array of sauces and creams). Before our flight out, we stopped here for the Italian toppa, which includes four glasses of wine and a board of cheese meat bread pesto and fruit and olive, all for only $35! The hotel next door charges $10 per glass of wine alone, and that was just a cheap house red. Finally, the staff here is amazing, friendly, and attentive, despite how many people are constantly coming in and out, ordering, and picking up takeout. The inside holds about 15, and another 15 outside. Yet they keep track of everyone, get food and drinks out quickly, and make sure you have everything you need. We didn't find this kind of service anywhere else while we were here. I highly recommend checking this place out for breakfast or lunch. Keep in mind they close around 3:00 or 4:00 depending on the day. A special shout out to (I hope I get this name right, I apologize if it's wrong) Alejandro, who helped us on multiple occasions, making this a wonderful Miami experience.
I recently visited Cafe Papillon and had an incredible experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from. The service was excellent as well - the staff was friendly, attentive, and made me feel welcome throughout my visit. I highly recommend Cafe Papillon for anyone looking for a pleasant experience. It's definitely a place I'll be returning to!
This is my favorite cafe in Miami. I've been going here for years and have basically tried everything. From breakfast to lunch to snacks, this local gem wins everything. The Italian Tapas with some mimosas is a vibe with some good company. I recommend the nutella french toast as well as the steak sandwich (pro tip: add an overeasy egg!). I also highly recommend the BLT sandwich and the breakfast wrap. I've watched the quality of their food get progressively better and better to the point where it is so hard to choose just one dish. They also have a new cloud foam iced latte that I cannot get over! Highly highly recommend Cafe Papillon.
This place offers a cozy and reasonably priced experience. The food is great, and the service is excellent. The French toast is a must-try. However, the construction outside is quite annoying, and it’s hard to find seating inside, which contributes to the overall atmosphere being a bit disappointing, despite the good food and service.
I rarely find myself in the need to review places I go, but the place really deserves it. A spectacular, very cozy place with a well-thought-out menu and outstanding service. Everything we ordered was exquisite but the dessert really was something beyond the imagination, a Croissant waffle. It is a Waffle made of croissant dough and with the flavor you pick on top. Sweet, salty or both… truly out of this world. We will definitely return. Congratulations.
Café Papillon is the best place either if you want a quick delicious breakfast or lunch on daily basis or if you want to enjoy quality time with family and friends on weekends. I personally had the experience of a surprise birthday party my family organized along with all the Cafe Papillon staff. All the staff went above and beyond our expectations. Whenever my husband and I visit Café Papillon, the food is delicious and beautifully served. Kudos to Café Papillon!
Came here for breakfast before cruise. Don’t let the construction across the street stop you from coming here. The food is excellent and coffee is delicious! We got the Magda’s and I am shocked how delicious and affordable everything is! They have cold bottled beer and mimosas as well. The outdoor space is beautiful and the inside is aesthetically pleasing. It’s a small place, but well worth a visit!
I was staying in downtown Miami and found this place nearby, and the whole experience was amazing! So many different breakfast options, and they were prepared quickly and were so good! The coffee was also made perfectly, and the baristas/servers were so friendly, and helpful with suggestions and made everything perfect! I highly recommend the salmon eggs benedict!
This was one of the best breakfast we have had. My omlet was a great portion, I saved half for the next day! One of my sons got the French toast that was a beautiful presentation and fantastic flavor. The other ordered the bacon and egg wrap which he took half of home for the next day. The indoor dining was quiet and a nice set up. We sat outdoors to enjoy the beautiful weather, there is construction going on across the street so that was a noise level we expected and dealt with. We will be returning if we are ever in the area again.
We just had the best breakfast at Cafe Papillon. Fresh and delicious food, amazing people, loving atmosphere. We are from NYC and the coffee was superior! I will definitely be stopping there every time I am in Miami! A must try for sure!!
You HAVE to go if you're in Miami! The location is right near the beach, the food and drinks are AMAZING! So many options and great prices! Our server Emilio was wonderful! So kind and genuine!
Cafe Papillon in downtown Miami has great service for the size of the restaurant. Rebecca, the manager, was very attentive and rewponsive. Last BUT NOT least, the food is super delicious. A favorite of mine is the Avacado toast with eggs.
100% recomendable!!!
A good start to the day in Downtown Miami. A very atmospheric place and few empty seats. That's a good sign given the competition. I deducted one point because the eggs Benedict were slightly overcooked.
Very small place, just 4/5 tables inside available, but the location is good. No free parking around, so you gotta park on the spot which is $5 per hour. The service was quick and no much hassle. We liked fresh squeezed juices which were delicious but the food was just mediocre, not too much taste and flavour, just a basic experience which i think wasn’t worth for the price we paid for it. If you want a nice coffee or fresh squeezed juice while walking around downtown, this is a good place for it.
$4 champagne $6 bellinis cant beat that. Nice big breakfast portions cant beat the price for the amount of food. Nice ambiance. Super soft baguettes. Tasty french toast. I enjoyed my meal. The food compared to the price, location and ambiance is unbeatable.
Place is small inside, but there's some seats outside. Servers are very relaxed. Need to speak slowly and confirm your order. Food is really good they rush so make sure your potatoes are fully cooked. The Cuban coffee is BANGING! great! They make fresh OJ. French toast is great as well.
Wow this by far has probably been one of the best cafes I’ve been to in Brickell . The meal was cooked to perfection , the eggs were scrambled perfectly no burnt pieces . Bacon was made EXACTLY how i like not overly cooked so i can still get a crunch as well as a chew . The only thing i would say is if the French toast got cooked not too long so i don’t get as much char on the the bread but overall The taste of the French toast itself More them compensated for the look which is honestly fine with me ! Lastly the guava cheese pastry absolutely to die for the best I’ve ever have and i seriously mean that the outer crust made to perfection not overly baked to the point the pastry become brittle it’s baked so well and the filling is so warm and tasty I’m salivating just thinking about it . So worth it ! And i would Definitely be a regular here .
This place is a real gem. It's got a great location across the Biscayne from Bayside Market, with a decent enough view from the outside eating area. It was packed when we got there, so the wait for our food was about 35min, but it was well worth the wait. Both the breakfast offerings and burritos were top notch, with portion sizes to give you more than your money's worth. Even though it was busy, the staff were really nice and our server came around a few times to check on our table and they were very personable. It is a small place, so seating is kinda limited and would be difficult to accommodate groups larger than 4 or so
The food was excellent! The food was fresh and cooked to order. However, a little bit of a language barrier and a few items that we ordered, were not received. They were unsure of what we were asking, when we asked that our receipt be checked for the charges. Otherwise, great food. I would return for their breakfast again.
A passed by here for a quick breakfast early one day, before I had to work a few weeks ago. Overall it was a great spot to have a regular priced breakfast in an expensive part of South Florida. The breakfast was large and filling, only downside is you have to pay for parking - but nowadays you have to pay for parking anywhere you go. Would definitely come back soon!
This place was amazing the first time we ate here! They offer turkey bacon and it is sooo good. I have been wanting to try it and this was definitely a good place to try it. they have really good menu options and there is something for everyone. The only reason I give this place four stars is because when we ordered from here through door dash our order was incomplete the first time and we reorder and still received someone else's order.
The food was good. They were playing great music. We ordered picanha and eggs, the supreme omelet, and a side of bacon and sausage (delicious). For dessert, banana nut french toast. The portions are big, so I wouldn’t recommend ordering sides or desserts. When you are ready to order, you have to go to the cashier; this was the only downside for us. They still take the food to your table. Friendly staff.
This is the cutest little breakfast place we have been to on vacation so far! The inside is instagram worthy vibes with plenty of photo opportunities! My only complaint thus far is we couldn't sit inside to eat because it was so hot! It could be tolerable but not comfortable.
In Miami for my brothers graduation and when my family and I travel we love to go out to eat. My father saw a plate of food go by and said we are eating here. Honestly this is a great way to pick a place. The food was delicious. DANIEL was very attentive. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because the food took a bit to come out. The wait was worth it. I highly recommend this cafe. Yes please go.
We found this place by accident. So glad we did. The food was amazing. Their menu looked so good I wanted to try a little bit of everything. There is a wait for the food as they make it when it gets ordered. That’s a good thing and a bad thing. The food was worth the wait though! The only reason I give this place 4 stars is because the inside is small and does not have a lot of seating and there is a longer than usual wait for food. The seating they do have is limited and cramped. Outside seating is good but it’s hot with no fans and there is the smell of urine outside (NOT the business’ fault as they can’t control outside environment)! We were going to sit outside but we ended up sitting inside at tables by the windows because of the smell! Overall, this place is very cute and the food is good! I would definitely eat here again!
Within walking distance from our hotel, the Cafe Papillon provided so many options to choose from for Breakfast. I chose the Magda’s combo breakfast with eggs over medium. The eggs were not too oily or buttery or salty. The bacon was also not very salty or greasy. The French toast was the perfect way to end the meal on a sweeter note. Coffee was great, as was the cappuccino.
Food was not bad, but wasn't a wow factor. Though trying to get the drinks in the refrigerator was hindered by a bar stool. Lol. Will try the waffles next since I had the French toast and Super Magda, but then again, it was takeout, so when i got to my room, it was not as hot and fresh anymore.
Excelente para desayunar La atención de los chicos fue muy buena. Y tuve una experiencia agradable. No hay muchas mesas así que….paciencia o anda temprano 🖖
Quick food, lots of choices, big menu, veggie options were limited and hardly any veggies, tried burrito bowl, not impressed, veggie omelettes were ok, good tires leches though. Overall fine. If you are in downtown and don't want to eat Mall food court stuff, this is a good place to try.
Had breakfast here, was not the least bit impressed. The coffee was just awful. The waffle was actually a cossaint in waffle form which was ok, if you like cossaints. The breakfast burrito was cold and not very flavorful, and the service was slow. My order was completed and just sitting there, I had to ask for my order. Wouldn't return!
came for a quick breakfast / brunch before heading on my flight. ordered a hot coffee with milk, got no milk. asked for milk, was met with confusion and given like half a shot of it. whatever no big deal, some places use creamer mainly. we ordered a waffle and eggs benedict. the eggs Benedict came with balsamic glaze on it?? not sure why but that's not usually a dish that needs acidity. and the waffle was "like cardboard, no flavor" according to my friend. i guess i was expecting more for it being near so many hotels and the ports. if you need a quick bite go for it, but don't expect too much.
The line is super long and the food is below mid. If you like hair in your water and your food and fake “squeezed” OJ from a Tropicana bottle then this is the place for you. You’ll wait about an hour for food and by the time it comes it will be cold. They didn’t even have enough egg for their lame French toast…
Food was good - service is atrocious. We would have had better service at the Holiday Inn self-serve buffet, I’m sure. We had to order at the counter and when I asked if they had real maple syrup and she said yes. Not what we got. I ordered for bacon with my waffle and none came. We ordered coffee and had to stand at the counter and add coffee-mate creamers with plastic stir sticks. When we asked for more coffee, she said they do not give refills. Music was blasting (at 9:00am) electro pop and rap. For $42 I think they could up their service game a bit. My two stars are for the food, which was not bad.
So me and my guy wanted some breakfast while in Miami we came across Cafe Papillon the pictures outside the door looked great and I glanced at some of the plates through the window they looked great so we decided to go in . We had to order at the register and pay before we ate ok didn't like that we found a table sooo presentation is everything to me and when she brought the breakfast out I looked at my eggs which supposed to be egg whites but the were gray the cook either burnt the butter or just didn't care what was going into my bowl the food wasn't good it seemed like they just threw it on the cutting board and served it to us . But I was really upset when I seen the gentleman on the side of us platter was perfect looked just the picture. They treat us tourists any kind of way and their own like a celebrity which I don't like.. Sorry I'm giving you guys a thumbs 👎 👎👎👎.
Food looked pretty good when it came out. Everything tasted ok in the end, it was just lacking a bit. Staff thought it was a good idea to give us plastic forks and knives to cut steak. Had to ask 4 times and wait 20 minutes before we got it. Service was worse. It really felt like none of the staff members wanted to be there.
Cafe Papillon has great food, but unfortunately the service really fell short. After paying, we asked for milk in one of the coffees and never received it. The Turkish coffee also wasn’t prepared properly. When we were seated, the table hadn’t been cleaned, there was still a bit of a mess on it and we had to call the server back to wipe it down. The space itself is very small and tightly packed, with chairs and tables extremely close together, which made it uncomfortable. On top of that, some of the staff came off with an attitude. I understand early mornings can be rough, but it still affects the experience. Overall, while the food was good, the poor service and lack of attention made it disappointing. Wouldn’t recommend.
They don't value their customer's time, prepare to wait. Prices are subject to change with out notice, lol. They add service fees and include gratuity. If you order uber eats it's actually cheaper but, don't start preparing your order until you arrive. Today I ordered a chocolate chip cookie, they put a hot cookie in a styrofoam container. I took a bite of the cookie with out realizing. I'm super grossed out. Isn't common sense to put the cookie in a napkin first??? When I came back to politely show them and ask for replacement- I waited 10 min for a replacement cookie. She still didn't put it in a napkin, luckily this time it wasnt hot.
We waited an hour after ordering with no food, it was endangering our check in for our cruise. I had them refund our card, completely ridiculous, they're not even crowded. I'd hate to see their service time if they were crowded. No food is worth these wait times or prices, in my opinion. Also quite small, with very loud music. There's a lot of great places around here, I'd avoid and find another location.
While the food is decent, the service was very poor. I wouldn’t come back because of the service.
Trash I like flavors there was none I got a lil sick afterwards stomach started to hurt my hash brown was freezer burnt eggs over cooked no salty or pepper was offered my mimosa taste like the champagne or orange juice was spoiled also there was no where to sit hated everything about it never returning
My response to management's response: I physically showed your employee my UberEats application showing that my “order was ready for pickup” and you proceed to call me a liar. I did not have a bad attitude. I was frustrated that it was the third time your service was poor and unprofessional. But that was my fault, I should have never returned. Your cameras are apparently not working, because my tomatoes were definitely missing from my order and UberEats reimbursed me for that. I will add my photos for proof below. Thank you for your response in calling my a liar. Have a great day! Original review: If I could zero stars, I would. The worst service ever. First time I visited, our order was lost and we waited over 1.5 hours for food. The second time, I thought it would be smarter for me to order for pickup via UberEATS....wrong! My order was extended an extra 30 minutes. Upon saying it was ready, I arrive and am told the order needs an additional 10 minutes. They blamed the timing due to Uber, meanwhile, the restaurant had two tables they were serving and my two item order took over an hour. On top of their terrible wait time, the order was completed wrong and missing parts (ordered avocado toast with tomatoes and tomatoes were missing). I ordered 16oz OJ and 8oz was given. Very mediocre and overpriced food. Save your TIME and money and eat somewhere else.
Terrible service the little girl with black hair didn’t bring my food for 55 minutes and I asked for my drink 3 times and it never came. Food was dry no flavor and there was a hair in my food. Worst place I have ate in Miami so far
Worst service experience in my life. We waited for 90 minutes until the food came and then the eggs were cold. There was no information about wait time and the barista was grumpy
Food took over an hour as we were the only two tables in there. Toilet did not flush. Fruit bowl was warm.
Really basic place that isn’t worth to go for breakfast. I’ve ordered avocado on toast with egg. Came as dry baguette with avocado from the tin (!!!) not even fresh avocado. It was disgusting to eat it. I never had avocado from tin at breakfast place. And I paid for it 13 bucks. To the owner - isn’t expensive to give fresh healthy avocado instead avocado with all E415 etc….unless you don’t care what people eat, but then you should change profession.
Wish I could give this place negative stars. Food took an hour with us being only the 2nd table in the place. Food was cold and hollandaise sauce is like yellow mayo pudding.
Unmarked missing items from the menu. Food is mediocre. Drinks from the fridge not cold. Rude service when asked to correct an order. Decor is cute, but seating is awkward. Surprised at this place having such a high rating on Trip Advisor. Wouldn’t come back.
This place is terrible. The service sucked. We all got our food at a different time. They sold one of our meals to someone else and told us it was gonna be 30 to 45 minute wait for them to make it again after we’ve already been here for an hour. Don’t waste your money go somewhere else.
Ubered here from 20 minutes away for a precruise drink and breakfast. Get there and met with a cash only sign on the door. I ran to an ATM to get money, only to go inside for them to tell us they're not taking anymore orders. It's before 1030am, they served the couple in front of us. Honestly felt discriminated against because we clearly weren't locals like the others inside. Just don't expect a reliable operation if you're coming here.
Don’t give your money to dishonest businesses. I went in for a regular hot brewed coffee. The cashier (black hair and beard) treated himself to a 15% tip when the machine was flipped to his side. It’s the standard machines that ask you to add a 15, 18 or 22% tip. You can see it in the receipt below. It was never presented to me to add a tip. When I confronted him about it, I told him how unprofessional it is to give yourself a tip. He went into denial mode and asked me, “are you crazy?” since the machine will “sometimes automatically do it” As someone who’s traveled the world, I’ve had the experience with plenty of these machines. But given that this city is Miami and has never had any class, I expected nothing less than behavior like this. If I was the manager, I would have immediately fired this cashier for the dishonesty and for the gaslighting alone. EDIT: Thank you to management for getting back to me and refunding the amount. Funny thing is I would have tipped him had this whole thing not happened.
Small establishment without room to stretch out without feeling crowded. Regid menu with no flexibility of swapping items ( baguette for toast, coffee for juice). Baby roach at checkout counter crawling on pay tablet. Dirty tables. Avoid this restaurant!
My experience here was nothing short of horrendous. I just came off of a flight and was excited to sit down at a nice breakfast spot in between my time for my cruise and from the start was given attitude. One of the coffees I had ordered was made incorrectly and asked for it nicely to be corrected and was given attitude, co workers talking in a different language negatively about us, hand gestures directed to us. That was unfortunately just the start as we patiently waited for our food we saw 3 couples order food after us and receive their food in a timely matter. As I go up asking what’s going on after I had waited an hour from when I ordered, they acted clueless and then proceed to say that it must’ve been a mix up of the receipt in the kitchen. As they issue the food refund I noticed they ADDED another coffee and charged me for 3, meanwhile I only got 2… I was at a loss of words and to make it even worse instead of them being apologetic for my experience they were bickering back at me and didn’t issue a full refund of all of my menu items… would never come back here with how I was treated and would certainty not recommend it.
Very poor service and waited close to 1 hour. Totally understaffed and no proper response either from the staff. When ordered they mentioned it will be 20 mins but ended up waiting 1 hour. We had kids who were hungry and asked to expedite and all we got is sorry. Definitely not recommending the restaurant as the staff need to be trained on customer service. Chocolate chip cookie was mentioned as 50 cents in the menu but was charged $2.79. We did ask about the cookie before ordering and was misguided. When asked about this all we got is just sorry again.
AVOID THIS PLACE!!!! It’s very dirty and Owner won’t fix website. I ordered food and was charged. I showed up to restaurant and they said they had no order and told me it was my fault their ordering system wasn’t updated and didn’t want to help me at all even though I had a receipt and everything.
