For a restaurant that's located in a highly touristy spot, the food is quite good! The ribollata soup is hearty and full of flavour. Tastes like health and all good things. I found the mushroom tagliatelle absolutely delightful, simple but high quality. We also had the pear-filled tortellini in gorgonzola sauce, which was such an impressive combination of flavours. And we were still hungry, so we ordered a simple tomato gnocchi which was very very good. Of course to finish, their delicious tiramisu. It is a great option in a busy place if you don't feel like walking to the more secluded places to find the good restaurants in Florence.
Come to Florence and experience this gem! Love this authentic restaurant. So many choices on the menu with great reasonable prices! The people there were so amazing and very patient with some of our more challenging guests. To give an idea, we were a party of 8, 2 seniors, 4 adults and 2 kids and there was something for everyone! Can't wait to come back again.
This is a really good restaurant. The waiter gives me a good impression by not trying to push us in the restaurant. The menu steak is a must try! The price and taste are super great.
“I enjoyed every bite! The pasta and steak were absolutely perfect. The service was warm, and the atmosphere really amazed me. I highly recommend this place!”
I'm not sure how we ended up at this restaurant, but it was a nice choice. I think I googled best place to eat near our hotel. We were skeptical as it was right smack in the touristy area. The wait staff was attentive and helped us choose several dishes. The place was a reasonable size with hand sketch Italian landscapes on the walls. This was beautiful. The food was really tasty. I think they are known for their meat options. The goal was to try something that we hadn't so far. We did and the standout dish was the Ribollita. Our waiter stated that either people loved it or hate it....well we loved it! The house wine was actually pretty good. Nice evening meal. Don't shy away from this location because it is in the tourist area. Worth a visit.
Perfect food, perfect waiter ! It is an adress to come back ! We loved every minute of our time in this restaurant ! I recomende !
Great service and the pasta was amazing. Would definitely recommend for an authentic Italian meal at a good price
A Hidden Gem Near Ponte Vecchio! This cozy Italian restaurant, just steps away from Ponte Vecchio, truly captures the spirit of Florence. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with attentive but never intrusive service. The food is absolutely delicious. The wine list is fantastic, with a great selection of local Tuscan wines. Whether you’re a wine lover or just looking to enjoy a great glass with your meal, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine in the heart of Florence!
The experience at this restaurant was absolutely amazing! The steak was perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. We originally ordered French fries, but since they weren’t on the menu, they kindly prepared country-style potatoes instead—and they were incredibly delicious! The focaccia was also outstanding, fresh, and full of taste. We also tried the mixed bruschetta set, which was simply delightful. To top it all off, they treated us to a complimentary Limoncello at the end of our meal—a lovely gesture! Our server, Denaldo, was extremely polite and attentive, making our visit even more enjoyable. The service was truly top-notch. Highly recommend this place!
Lovely place to have our evening meal. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. We highly recommend.
Denaldo was fantastic! This was our third time here and it has never disappointed!
Such a nice place! The food we ordered was totally delicious, the atmosphere is really enjoyable and magic. The staff is friendly and helpful, and look at the size of authentic Florence steak we got!!
The bistecca was absolutely amazing, the service was great. Would recommend for anyone looking for a good spot with great prices
The food is delicious!!!! But what is really amazing is the ambiance and the service. We were honored to have Vincenzo (he did not ask for the review). He made our dining experience above and beyond. What a nice guy. Berta was a sweetheart too. Please take all his recommendations, even how to take pictures of your dishes LOL A place you can't miss.
Delicious food and friendly servers. One of the best Pasta Carbonara I have ever had!!
We came across this restaurant while walking around the city. We shared a pizza and carbonara and both did not disappoint. The carbonara was perfect; had the perfect amount of pecorino romano and guanciale. Price was of course a little bit more than average given its location but it was worth it!
Perfect place to escape the crowded streets! With the lively jazz music playing in the background, we had a lovely table overlooking the street. My friend and I were both eating Strozzapreti del Ponte Vecchio, which was fresh and tasty, the amount of spice was just to our liking. Service was also pleasant and nice.
We wanted to try a few local pastas to get a better feel for what we like and we also wanted to walk across Ponte Vecchio, so we gave this charming little trattoria a try. We found the service very friendly and helpful and the food delicious. We tried the papperdelle with wild boar ragu, the strozapretti, the gnocchetti with gorgonzola and walnut and the fiocchi with peccorino pear and creamy truffle sauce. The pear and peccorino pasta was a 10/10 for both of us if a bit pricey. Highly recommend if you'd like something special in Florence.
Such amazing food! The people are lovely and speak english but are very kind if you want to try to speak italian! Such amazing restaurant so close to the ponte vecchio!
Ashak was great! We really enjoyed our pizzas (vegetarian and neopolitan) and the service and atmosphere were wonderful. Would definitely visit again on future trips to Florence!
Walking down the street to see a friendly face by the door. We decided to head in to find out that we were the first customers. Ordered bruschetta and caprice for starters. It was amazing with fresh tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. We had the pasta with clams and also another with mushroom. The flavour is amazing. So simple yet so divine. A must go the next time we are back in Florence. Can’t wait to try other dishes!
Amazing, quiet, and fun for people watching! Best bread in Florence! Nice service, we enjoyed making the waiter laugh!
Incredible food, flavor and experience. The best meal yet. Denaldo was our server and all recommendations were PERFECTO
Denaldo was amazing and food was the best we have had yet. Pesto was the best I’ve had. Spinach Gorgonzola app was good enough to have our own.
ChatGPT said: During our recent visit to Florence, we had the pleasure of dining at an authentic Italian trattoria that left an unforgettable impression. From the moment we walked in, we were transported to a cozy, rustic corner of Italy, where the warmth of the atmosphere matched the deliciousness of the food. The ambiance was charming and quintessentially Italian, with red and white checkered tablecloths that perfectly complemented the real candles flickering on each table. The soft glow of the candlelight, combined with the intimate setting, created an inviting, relaxed vibe that made us feel right at home. As for the food, it was absolutely exceptional. The beef dishes, in particular, stood out as the highlight of the meal. Each cut of meat was perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor. The seasoning was spot on, allowing the natural richness of the beef to shine through. Whether it was a perfectly seared steak or a flavorful beef ragu, every bite was pure bliss. The service was equally wonderful, with attentive staff who took the time to explain the dishes and offer recommendations. They were friendly and knowledgeable, making us feel like we were part of the trattoria’s family. In every way, this trattoria in Florence offered an authentic Italian dining experience that we will cherish for years to come. Whether you're a fan of great food, exceptional service, or just looking for a warm, welcoming atmosphere, this place is an absolute must-visit. We can’t wait to return!
I was in this wonderful restaurant with my parents. It was one of our best dinners in a long time! We were very hungry and tired in the heat, but as soon as we entered, it immediately became easier because of the coolness inside. Afterwards, we ordered a salad and a hot dish, also tried red wine, white wine and champagne. Everything was delicious! At the end, we decided to get tiramisu and it was just incredible <3 Our waiter was a wonderful guy named Leo, he was the nicest and kindest waiter we met in Italy. I want to say a big thank you to the wonderful restaurant Trattoria Ponte Vecchio, for the wonderful atmosphere of Italy and Florence, delicious food, great staff and super location right next to Ponte Vecchio! I recommend absolutely everyone to go to this place.
Fernando was friendly and provided us with great service. He made some great recommendations. I loved the bruschetta, the seasoning on the tomatoes was absolutely delicious. The Margarita pizza and the Caesar salad was also delicious!
Absolutely beautiful atmosphere immersing your dining experience right near ponte vecchio. We had their special of a T-bone steak cooked medium rare and the taste was incredible. Quick service and fantastic recommendations. Right off the Arno river it was so gorgeous to be here in the evening. 32 euro for a 500g steak, potato’s and a glass of wine. Where could we go wrong ? We will definitely be back !
We treated ourselves to the mouthwatering Pappardelle al Ragu di Cinghiali (£15), a traditional pasta adorned with a delectable wild boar sauce. In addition, we couldn't resist trying the Bistecca Nella Costola (£28), a classic Florentine ribeye steak weighing 600g. Grilled to perfection, it offered a tantalizing smoky flavor. The meat, marinated simply with salt and pepper, was bursting with rich flavors. We also enjoyed a glass of their Vino Locale (£8) to complement the steak. Without a doubt, it was one of the most remarkable steaks I've ever had!
Come here for the amazing food and hospitality! The veal with porcini mushrooms and mille feuille honestly blew us away. Kudos to chef and team for the creativity. We enjoyed the meal thoroughly.
Honestly some of the best food I have ever eaten. The staff are very friendly and all of the food was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly, and my pork was delicious. Even the potatoes were so amazing. They have free WiFi and the bathrooms are even beautiful. Definitely worth a stop!!! Lots or gluten free options.
A wonderful atmosphere in an enchanting setting. An excellent selection of Italian specialties that captivate with their flavor. Special praise for the waiter Ashak, who is very kind and friendly. Simply put, top-notch service and an outstanding offering of Italian dishes.
This was the best pasta I have ever had 😋 If you like sweet and savory, Fiocchi Ripieni is for you. We went there at our first night in Florence and I fell in love with the pasta. The next day which was my birthday, we went there again. I had the same dish and had a vegetable soufflé as our antipasti which I also 100% recommend. Both were out of this world. The waiters were so kind and friendly. They celebrated my birthday and put a candle on my cake. It was such an amazing experience. Thank you so much 😊
The first time we experienced Florentine steak is at here. 2 peo with 1.2 kg of T-bone steak in perfect way of cooking, superb Tuscany wine and signature home made salad by their Chef. I met the Waiter who was very nice and specifically look like De Gea of MU. We had super good time with food and atmosphere. Tks for the great service, all was perfect for us (including pricing). 5 Star.
This became "our place" in Florence, the moment we had our first bite. The dishes are creative and impeccably prepared, the wine list is extensive, the atmosphere is both sophisticated and welcoming and the owners are warm. We had such an amazing time, almost three hours had passed without us realizing.
This is a lovely restaurant with a really warm and kind owner. He was a wonderful host and went the extra mile to make our experience great. The food was fantastic and the wine was amazing. The chef even split up the dishes without being asked because we wanted to share. I'd highly recommend visiting here on your trip.
The food was excellent and the service was very good. Quiet little restaurant with a cozy atmosphere right by the bridge. The truffle tagliatelle was delicious. Our waiter was friendly and even offered to call us a taxi back to where we were staying.
We were a group of 5 women of different ages, we came here as walked past, it had a set dinner menu of Biscatta, wine and water. And the reviews on line were good. The waiters were not particularly friendly, perhaps we all had the set meal which was not big spending. Anyhow the florentine t.bone steak was absolutely delicious which made up for the non- friendly service. We didn't stay long, justs had our set meal then moved on to another bar. Other places we usually stayed for more drinks and a desert, as we were not made to feel welcome here, we moved on
Pros: I think they fired their rude waiters because service was fine. Steak was seasoned nicely, seafood was great. If you order the right things, this would be a decent place to have lunch. Cons: Carbonara was meh and weird in consistency. Service was a bit slow.
Came here for a dinner, the food was good. A lot of mixed reviews about here but we had an overall good experience. The bruschetta was tasty and flavourful. Our pasta main dishes were good, cooked and seasoned well. The desserts were also good, biscotti were nice and crunch and the wine accompanied it was sweet.
Overall food was good, nothing exceptional but not bad at all. Service was great all around. I thought the Scaloppine a la limone was a bit too sour, could've been more balanced. Everyone else enjoyed their pasta, pizza and the lamb with potatoes.
We had a great lunch at Trattoria Ponte Vecchio. Perfect location and delicious meals. They offered a lunch menu that is really worth it for the price: T-bone Steak + Cold Cut Platter + House Wine. The wine wasn’t as good as the rest of the meal, will recommend to order another wine. The steak was superb, it comes with wedge potato’s and some veggies. Around 30€ / person.
We got the cold meat platter, gnocchi with walnut sauce and the mushroom risotto. The food was pretty standard; a bit over priced. However, the cold meat platter was absolutely heaven. Highly recommend getting it. It is a good amount for two people. It is located near the bridge so if you sit outside you have a great view of the river. Apart from that it is more of a touristy restaurant than a local one.
The atmosphere in this restaurant is a bit strange, however the staff are friendly, charming and engaging. The food was delicious. The bruschetta starter was as expected but the beef stew and roast potatoes exceptional. The Scaloppina Al funghi porcini was equally delicious. A Lovely evening of food and wine
We had a wonderful dinner experience! Fernando, our waiter, treated us very kindly and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing perfect for an enjoyable evening. The wine selection was also excellent. Definitely a place I’d recommend!
Delicious food, great location, pleasant atmosphere. Our waiter was kind and answered our questions. Overall an enjoyable experience but it would have been nice if staff would be more welcoming when we first came in and explained the menu or made suggestions. They didn’t seem very interested in sharing the culinary art of their Italian restaurant.
We were looking for a place to have dinner in the center and stumbled upon this cozy place. Ended up having the firenze t-bone steak which was to die for. Also had the typical tuscan bean and bread soup which was good too. Service was nice, kind and attentive. House wine was good but for the price maybe could have been better. Only minus is we came quite late and were finishing our meal around 30 minutes before closing but they were already closing the place up, turning off the music and it felt like they were indirectly urging us to move on so they can go home. Otherwise it was great and would recommend the place to everyone.
I recently visited Trattoria Ponte Vecchio in Florence, and I have mixed feelings about my experience. On the positive side, the food was genuinely good. The flavors were well-prepared, and the dishes reflected classic Italian culinary traditions. I particularly enjoyed the pasta, which was cooked perfectly, and the sauces were rich and flavorful. The presentation of the meals was also appealing, showing some attention to detail in the kitchen. However, the customer service was extremely disappointing and overshadowed the food. From the moment we arrived, the staff seemed uninterested in assisting us. They were dismissive and, at times, outright rude. Requests for clarification about the menu were met with impatience, and it felt like they had little regard for the customers’ experience. The atmosphere suffered because of this lack of attentiveness, making the visit less enjoyable than it could have been. It’s a shame because the food deserves praise, but the poor service makes it hard to recommend the restaurant wholeheartedly. If you come here, be prepared for excellent food, but don’t expect warmth or friendly service. Customer care should be improved to match the quality of the cuisine.
While strolling through Florence in the evening, we stopped by this place for an aperitivo without doing much research. We ended up ordering some food as well. The service was very fast, but honestly, the dishes looked like they had been prepared in advance. Overall, the food tasted good, but it felt a bit overpriced for the quality offered.
The food was not tasty at all. So far, the least tasty place we have eaten in Italy. The stake was not that good. Caprese salad was not as tasteful either. It seems that the vegetables were not of that good quality and the lamb (for lamb chops) was pretty old. Overall, I would not recommend to eat there. Instead, look for better places around.
Helpful and friendly staff, beautifulness plated food, and tourist prices. The menu has many of the popular dishes found in the restaurants around Florence. The markup shouldn't come as a surprise given its prime location right on the river in the heart of tourist foot traffic between Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery. We had a grilled steak and a filet with truffle. The steak wasn't bad, though there are better available in the area for a better price. Knowing that, I still enjoyed it but wish the fat was rendered a little more. The filet with truffle was also tasty but the same dish at another restaurant further away from Ponte Vecchio had the same dish with a more generous portion of truffle for less cost. Be warned the wine is also heavily marked up. Many of the bottles on the menu are available at other restaurants for 25-50% cheeper. Overall we enjoyed the meal though.
Food was tasty but waiters were very disinterested. Taking our order seemed like a chore. It appeared that the staff do not like their job and do not want to be there. Our waiter did not check on us to see how our meal was or whether we would like another drink. For these reasons I would not recommend this restaurant. There are many others to choose from in Florence.
You are in Tuscany, the land of Antinori… having as options Tignanello or Sassicaia and you go there, ask for a glass of red wine, and they tell you you can not try / taste the House Red Wine (!) but its good so you should buy a glass !! No eh ? By the way, none of the people serving the tables are Italians, all Asians. Nothing wrong with that, but you re in Italy, in Firenze , funny, isnt’t ? No, better go elsewhere, trust me 👌
We had good hopes because of the ratings, but it definitely fell short. I ordered the Carbonara and it was disappointing. I have seen better in north america and made better myself. This one had split. My partner ordered a steak medium, it came on the rarer side of rare. I get that they like rare steak here, but when we brought it up to the waiter he argued that our beyond rare steak was actually a medium. To put in back on the grill, they cut it mostly in half and seared the two inside parts. Should have gone around the corner instead.
Ok I have no idea who says that this place is "amazing" and that they have "great food." Because it is a total lie! But then the hint should have been that those who gave glowing reviews are those who have only reviewed one or two places. That's a hint that they aren't real reviewers. But back to the restaurant. The service was decent. Our server was nice and helpful and attentive during our meal. They had a wide selection of Italian dishes to choose from. Our appetizer of mozzarella and thin sliced ham was decent. But the main dishes were disappointing. We opted for the Florentine steak and lasagna. Both dishes lacked any flavor! The steak was undercooked (we wanted medium it came out medium rare) and was not tender or tasty. The lasagna was bland lacking any taste. Not a good way to end our trip to Florence. If you want good food while visiting Florence, this place isn't it. Go spend your money somewhere else. Trust me!
Truly disgusting. Took one bite of my porcini pasta and that was enough. Tasted like boiled water with some kind of slimy fungi. Even though porcini mushrooms are now in season, these freeze dried “something” had been soaked so long they were completely void of any flavor. The waiter asked if I liked it, and I said it was “terrible”. He took it to the owner who shrugged his shoulders. Expecting them to (at the very least) take it off the bill, they did nothing. Shame on them.
This is more of a warning and less of a review: do not go in here. I don't know how this place has a 4.4 rating, maybe they changed staff or cooks because this was absolutely horrible from the service to the food. The service felt bothersome and unwanted so me and my partner told ourselves "as long as the food is good, it is whatever.." and then the food came. My partner had a lovely supermarket level warmed-up gnocchi for €16, and my salt-bombed Napoli pizza came with an amazing headache for only €14! And just when you think it is over, they'll charge with an amazing €2.50 "service" fee PER PERSON. If you see this place, walk by quickly and do not look back.
Forget this place. The service was so terrible. Such attitude from both waiters. The food is ok, the place is just old now without charm. We came to this place a few years ago and it was great. It might have changed management. It's not cheap, so at least make an effort, a smile, don't drag your feet. It's not hard to make tourists welcome. We pay your bills you know.
