I want to start my review with a quick statement. If you've been here before and have had some kind of bad experience with the food or with the staff, then you must have been somewhere else!! My wife and I stopped by to have lunch because we're new to Midland Texas and have passed by the Cotton Patch Cafe long enough to finally give it a shot, and let me tell you we were very happy that we did.. The Hostess sat us down very quickly and our server ' Sayra ' greeted us, took the drink order and then brought them back along with these amazing warm and fresh Homemade house dinner rolls!! The rolls reminded of a famous old school (Parker House Roll). Anyway, I ordered a Chicken Fried Chicken Sandwich with fries and my wife ordered a the Patty Melt with Fries. Now. My chicken sandwich HANDS DOWN was the best I've ever had and if you ever put it up against Popeye's, Wendy's, or KFC, this sandwich would slap them down to a " go back and learn something level!!" Yes, it truly was just that good. The Patty Melt my wife ordered was next level as well, with a hand formed patty, juicy caramelized onions and melted swiss cheese, all on toasted bread. That Chicken Fried Chicken Sandwich is a perfectly breaded chicken breast laid on top of a bed of pickles and Bacon Mayo, along with this toasted buttered bun!!! The fries were perfectly cooked and the appetizer of deep fried pickles were some of the best I had in my travels around the country. Ask for a side of Bacon Mayo, that stuff is good on everything 😋

Kat was absolutely wonderful! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out just right. Her service was quick and genuine, and she checked in at the perfect times without ever rushing us. She really made the experience enjoyable—definitely one of the best servers I’ve had at Cotton Patch!

Cotton Patch Cafe has been a go-to for our family for a while. Today's visit was wonderful! Great food and even better service/staff. I stop by at least once a week. The facility is always clean. No one seems to ever be left unattended. This is a place I recommend. Always ask for Ta'Lor she will take great care of you. Just remember to do your part as a greatful customer and leave a good cash tip to anyone who does attend you. Just a psa on my part.

It’s nice to see cotton patch’s service back where we expect it to be, Cat was great! She helped me figure out what I wanted to eat, the menu changed a little bit so some of my favorite are gone but Cat helped me figure out what a good alternative would be! I also saw the whole staff being very friendly to each other and helping each other out with cleaning, setting up big party tables, etc. I hope this is how cotton patch continues to be!

It's been a few years since we've been here., no particular reason why. I must say that our server Nick J was amazing! Friendly, upbeat, smiling. She was on top of everything from greeting us, refilling our drinks, quick with rolls, appetizer and our meal till the very end of taking our payments and sorting out who was paying for what. She did not get agitated or rush us out. We really appreciated her service and smiling face! The patty melt, and the chicken fried chicken tasted just right. They were hot and delicious. The to-go order I placed for my wife was placed towards the end of the meal and came just as we were finishing. My wife said her food, small portion chicken fried steak was cooked to perfection and tasted great. It hit the spot for her.

It's mid overall, and the name sounds a bit like it came from a minstrel show. But the discounted lunch size meals and the daily deals, specifically chicken fried steak on Mondays, make me happy. So it goes. The sides are hit or miss, but my favorite would be the loaded baked sweet potato with marshmallow on it.

It's a nice atmosphere but the service was slow on this day. The waiter forgot our silverware & drinks. Service could be better. The food was decent presentation was nice but it lacked a little flavor.

We usually have Jessie wait on us. She knows us so well that she has our drink order ready when we walk in the door. Sweet girl!

I do not typically select cotton patch as a place to dine, but today the other person I was with wanted to go here. The parking lot was empty which made me leery, but we stuck to our decision. The food was decent. The squash casserole needs some work, the broccoli and rice appeared to have been sitting in the back a while but was still okay. The side salad was good. The chicken and dumplings was rated a 4 star meal by the other party. The sweet tea is delicious and our server was amazing! She was the best part of the whole meal, very kind, hard working woman.

Cotton Patch in Midland TX review. 09/2018. I attached multiple pictures- like the menu, our food and receipt. Caesar salad pretty good. Chicken and dumpling soup was very good. The bread rolls were also very good. We ordered the 3-cheese bacon burger with fries and 10oz NY strip with shrimp. The shrimp were a bit too salty, but I put the lemon juice on it and that made them better. All the rest of the food was very good. Only thing I was upset about was the waiting time, there were not a lot of customers but we stood there for like 15 minutes and none of the wait staff acknowledge us so I took some chairs to sit right in the front until they came and got us. Once seated they attended to us quickly. They had continuous country music on the speakers which I can’t stand but I just tuned it out. Waitress Cara was very nice. The restaurant has a country style interior. My honey loves going there so we’ll be going back later.

My first at Cotton Patch Cafe. It has been a very long time since the server was excellent! You actually felt like you were out to eat and had an experience. The restaurant on my visit was super clean and our food was ample. It was not bad it was not great. Maybe next time I'll try something else. We had fish baskets and a pasta plate. The sides were tasty to me it tasted a bit like a chain restaurant. Again may have been our selection. I'll give them another try soon. Again I believe (Sida) was the server she was excellent!

Diverse and thorough Texan and southern inspired menu items. Portions are generous. Salad is a bit faded. Fish offerings could include catfish instead of swai or tilapia. Servers are a bit hurried, the music can be loud at times. Price point is fair.

I am a first-time customer today. I tried the fried bacon, and it was interesting, but I don't see me needing it again. The chicken fried steak was the toughest I have ever had. The sides were pretty much all bland like the cream gravey. The server Jose G was great and doing an excellent job. I haven't been to a Cotton Patch restaurant in a long time. That said, I remember the food was a lot better than what I got this time. Not only were the portions extremely small but it was covered in tons of salt. It was so salty it actually, burned my wife's tung. She took a bite of her stake and it was crunchy from the salt. She had to scrape it with a knife and still didn't finish it and threw it away when we got home. My patty melt was the same. I ate half of a half before I stopped myself because the salt was overbearing. The only reason we didn't complain was that we had gone there after her sister's funeral and just couldn't. The service was good, they did a great job. I just think you need someone else in charge of the salt shaker! I take reviews seriously and don't say anything I don't have to. It was just awful. I gave it two stars because the appetizer was good and so was the drinks.

Food portions are large ill give it that. Girlfriend ordered a medium rare steak got a VERY rare steak. Menu pictures implied chicken tacos were nice and thick but was mostly filled with lettuce. The chicken fried bacon was kinda bland with little seasoning. I wouldn't have been so hard on the review if for the fact the steak made my girlfriend sick and my chicken was burnt.

Cotton Patch in Midland is normally a very nice place to eat, nice variety, good food, wonderful staff (we have our favorite waitress Ta’Lor)… but today was, shall we say a less than optimal experience. The waitstaff was working hard, but in back, it seems that things were a mess. We actually felt sorry for the waitstaff-they undoubtedly had to put up with complaints with a smile. Our food arrived and my wife ordered the grilled avacado chicken which arrived with no avocado… the waitress went back to check and you were out of avacado… and her lettuce was turning on the edges. Should have been tossed out yesterday! I assume the same story with my mushroom and Swiss burger that arrived without mushrooms. We asked to speak with the manager who was off today. The assistant was there but evidently she was hustling in back. We didn’t want to bother. If this was my business and the store manager was out when staff was short and things ran out… he’d be finding a new job! Kudos to the staff you have for trying to pick up the slack, but goodness… the manager needs retraining at the very least!

Service was extremely slow took forever to get two orders made. One order had been made and was just sitting there after I had asked the hostess if it was ready. She said it hadn’t been made. I saw a take out bag by the bar and asked another employee what the name was on the order and it was one of the orders I was waiting for. I asked to speak to manager and the hostess said “He is just gonna tell you what I said”. I asked to speak to him anyway. He was not helpful. I let him know the situation and he broke out telling me there were only two cooks and I was being impatient and let it be known, “He was running the show” his exact words smh. I canceled one order cause it was not ready after being there over 35 minutes terrible customer service mind you they weren’t even busy and still couldn’t get food out in timely manner. My family went for supper one night, we got seated in a servers section and waited for what seemed like an hour (wasn’t an hour but very long before we even got drinks) our server finally came over and was all I’m sorry the hostess didn’t tell me they sat a table like what you should know what tables are yours and not rely on a hostess to tell you especially if it is not busy!!

Left without my order we waited over 45 min for 2 plates the dinner was getting full and only 1 waiter according to the waiter they forgot order. I went ahead and asked to pay for my drinks and the manager would not even turn to apologize or even acknowledge us this was very bad service from management not even offering us an apology I will never go back , It was seriously our first time there but never again.

No one here but NO service. Not sure if it was me or what I might have done for them to not want to give me any service. The manager came out of the bathroom saw me and still nothing. I've been there before and the food was good and a service was decent. Might have come at a bad time might have come in the middle of some drama in the back. I don't know. But these people don't own this place and their paychecks come regardless. But if I were the owner or in corporate I would want to know what happened and why. Just got up and left.

So today we decided to come eat dinner we got sat down and waited almost 20 minutes for our drinks other tables around got there drinks before us that's that we were seated first we ordered appetizers West Texas chicken wings and fried pickles the wings were cold and the fried pickles just tasted like they have sat in the grease proceeded too order our food and we got two fish and shrimp baskets and the fish and shrimp wasnt fully cooked asked to speak to the manager Ash she blamed it all on the waitress that she took on too many tables and was taking too long to hand out the food when I believe the manager should have taken full responsibility for her crew and not blamed it on a new crew member so then when and said she could remake the shrimp and brought out the shrimp in 3 minutes and said oh I freshly made it this time so you're telling me that the food wasn't freshly made the first time?

They are starving for employees. We waited over 10 min to be seated by the manager. 15 minutes later we realized no one in the building g had food and they all had their menus still while the manager was standing at the bat chatting with a female employee. We then left after a few other tables walked out. Normally this is one of my favorite confort food restaurants but today was pathetic. Do better cotton patch.

The service tonight was HORRIBLE!!! although the food is always so so good there. I didn't even get my plate tonight. We told our waitress I didn't get my plate. She assured me my plate was coming, 2 hours passed by and I still never got my plate! Not to mention the waitress never even refilled my drink. It was the worst service I've ever gotten at a restaurant, ever. Which is super disappointing because their food at the Midland tx location is the best one!

I was extremely disappointed in the potatoe soup. I have been buying this soup from this establishment for years. Every since they came to Midland Texas. I was so disappointed when they removed it from their menu. I went as far as wrinting into corporate office to have it brought back. I was so excited when i was told they was bringing back. I went yesterday to get some potatoe soup for my disabled daughter and the soup was horrible. This is not the homemade potatoe soup that they have always served. It was given to me in a smaller container and was only half full. No potatoes in the soup at all. It apoeared to be chicken condensed soup piured out of a can. No crumbled bacon or onions or cheese on top. I threw it in the trash. This establishment needs to hire more reputable friendly staff as well. Extremely Disappointed...

Went there for the advertised bottomless fish fry. Didn't exist, wait staff was less than mediocre. They say they have a great chicken fried steak, will try but if the same service won't ever be back. Waiter was rushing, kept disappearing, as soon as my food was done, waiter immediatly printed my check then disappeared again, I had to track someone else down to pay my check and 24 bucks for 2 arnold palmer, 2 thin pieces of fish, 7 shrimp in a batter that needs improving, 2 jalapeño hush puppies and maybe 5 oz fries which were half way to cold. Not worth the cost.....
