Opinions de Cafe Ü Mineola
Just what Mineola needed! Super friendly employees and great coffee. I'm quite picky about where I get coffee and this place does not disappoint! Not to mention it is in a beautiful historic home. Finished my entire coffee before I got the first photo, haha. Second photo is from my next time back. My order: Iced Black and White Mocha with Breve
Great atmosphere and drive thru. The owners were so nice and attentive. Great coffee and the place was beautiful
I used their drive-thru for a quick cup of coffee before going to an appointment. Great service, very friendly and the coffee was excellent. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to go inside but it looks like a unique place to visit in an old Victorian home.
I'm actually surprised I've never written a review for this place. I go here at least once every week. The drinks are always delicious. The food (although I don't get any often) is tasty and satisfying. I really like the recent redecorating, it's got a nice vibe going on. This place manges it's mix of tables, and more comfortable seats well, it also has appropriate seating for solo visitors, groups of two or more, and places that work well for whole parties (upstairs). The staff, although faces have changed over the years, always have a friendly way of dealing with customers. They manage to get drinks out without much wait, even when the place is busy. Highly recommend this place.
I got recommended this place from a friend saying they had good drinks. My S.O. ended up going for brunch and got a strawberry and a strawberry banana smoothie, and avocado toast w/ egg. The drinks and food were really good. I definitely recommend coming here. Along with the atmosphere it is a little rustic, but I think that's what gives it an old cozy feel.
This is hands down the best coffee shop I have ever been to. And to make it even better, it is Mineola. There are so many wonderful things about this place. The staff are nicest, sweetest people I've ever met. The coffee is always, and I mean always, just right. There are fun and comfortable places to sit. It isn't hard at all to find a quite corner, or you can even sit on the porch. I never thought I'd say that a coffee shop has Fried Green Tomatoes vibes but this one certainly does.
I’ve been coming to Cafe U for a few years now. I’m surprised I’ve never left a 5 star review yet, but after being there yesterday and enjoying a caramel macchiato and bagels & lox, plus relaxing in the nice Sunday breeze, while reading a book on their beautiful front porch, I decided to take the time to leave one today. Love this place, the staff and the overall vibe of the place. Such friendly and helpful folks and the food and coffee are delicious. Wonderful place to chill, relax and read or write. Highly recommend them.
Such a cute little spot to enjoy coffee and lunch! The soup of the day was delicious, and I especially appreciated how welcoming the place was of babies ☺️
Love this place! Their coffee flavors are so creative! Vibes are RIGHT! Family owned and operated, the owners are so sweet!
Firstly the Victorian house offers so many comfy and roomy spaces, both up stairs and down. The staff were very friendly and the coffee was excellent and served in a nice mug when I dined in. For breakfast I had the burrito and it was absolutely stuffed with delicious ingredients. I had not expected my burrito to beat me but it did. I was introduced to the rewards system which I signed up for and on my very first transaction I earned a free pastry. We will be back Cafe U.
This place is a gem. Great coffee and great atmosphere. The whole "house" is open. So if you need a quiet place to read or work, you can wander upstairs. It's my wife's favorite when visiting Mineola.
This is the best cafe i have visited in over 7,000 miles of travel this summer. Don't miss it. Highly recommend their decaf or coffees. The Sammy or the sausage breakfast items are excellent. The best part of this is the 1890s Victorian house it is in. I recommend eating upstairs, however the main floor has cozy nooks too. See my photos to experience it. Prices are not elevated too high.
Sweet staff and I love the atmosphere. Very welcoming and peaceful. Great place to stop by to have some coffee and read. Or have lunch with friends/family. I love the old time look inside.
Absolutely am a fan for life. The ambiance, the staff, and then there is their food, all simply divine. The moment you walk in a sense of peace and serenity greets you and it’s like seeing an old friend again. Highly recommend it for a morning coffee or a late 2:00pm brunch. They were also very well trained in serving customers with Service Dogs.
Easily walkable from the main downtown shops, and definitely worth it! Very friendly staff. Cozy and comfortable atmosphere that was clearly designed with special care and attention to detail. Although we didn't order food (we had just eaten before trying Cafe Ü for the first time) the food dishes we saw being ordered looked amazing. Look for a small board on the counter containing a menu of seasonal items seasonal items. Highly recommend a Cold Brew with a pump of syrup (they have multiple sugar-free options). Next time we're in Mineola we will definitely come back!
This quaint little cafe nestled in this amazing Victorian Style House was the most pleasant experience I have had in some time. I wanted a light breakfast, (brunch) that morning and a really good cup of coffee, so I decided "enough", it was time to give this mystical diner a try. Wow...I was not disappointed. I enjoyed the most delicious spinach, onion, and feta quiche. It was paired with a green salad that had an amazing vinegarett dressing. As I appreciated each bite, it was obvious that the staff took great pride in their craft and the preparation of this wonderful meal. But, the details were obvious in other areas too. The vintage plates and large picturesque window in the "period" dining area, all created the most delightful experience that's not easily forgotten. I definitely recommend giving this hidden gem a try. The price point was good and the customer service was excellent!
I recently had the pleasure of visiting this delightful coffee shop, and I can’t help but rave about my experience. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The soft lighting, cozy seating arrangements, and welcoming smiles created the perfect ambiance for relaxation and conversation. The menu boasted an impressive array of delicious treats that complemented their exceptional coffee selection. I indulged in the chicken salad sandwich that was pure bliss. The food surpassed my expectations, and I found myself tempted to try everything on the menu. What truly set this coffee shop apart, however, was the extraordinary service. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about their craft. They took the time to understand my preferences, making personalized recommendations that perfectly matched my taste. Throughout my time there, I observed how seamlessly the team worked together. Despite being busy, they remained composed and attentive to every customer’s needs. It was evident that customer satisfaction was their top priority. They went above and beyond to ensure that everyone felt welcomed and well taken care of. As a coffee enthusiast, I’ve visited numerous establishments, but this coffee shop stands out as an exceptional gem. The combination of mouthwatering food, cozy atmosphere, and outstanding service left me with an unforgettable impression. I highly recommend this coffee shop to anyone seeking a memorable coffee experience.
Cafe inside Beautiful older home . Great atmosphere. Food and drinks were really good too!
First time trying Cafe U and will not be our last. Just a beautiful Victorian house serving up delish food and beverages. For all those work from home people, please check it out. Tons of little rooms/spaces to utilize free internet while enjoying a nice latte or smoothie.
Beautiful little Victorian house! I love how they’ve fixed it up and made a cozy coffee shop for the community. We found this on our road trip and loved stopping by! We heard they just opened a spot in Hawkins, too, and liked the dirty soda there!
This place is so amazingly beautiful and full of history. It’s so much better than your mainstream BS coffee places. Has all the comfortable vibes you want from a place
This is a beautiful coffee shop!! Set in an old home that has been joey up beautifully, it's absolutely gorgeous. Love the speciality drink offers. Vanilla peach dirty chai was heavenly! The barista was super nice and helpful and answered all my questions. Also love the unique gifts offered (LGOT candles, soups, tea, Hammond's chocolate bars, and much more). Highly recommend this place!!
Cafe U is a nice, little coffee shop that also has homemade pastries as well as soups, sandwiches, and salads available for lunch. There are a few places to eat with tables and chairs, or you can sit in the Victorian styled living room on couches and look out the large windows. This is a nice, tranquil place in Mineola.

Amazing historic building with great atmosphere and great people. Mary helped me decide on a lovely hazelnut and cinnamon latte this morning which made my day.

Lovely little bistro. Great soup and sandwich lunch. Live musician with soft guitar playing. Very nice to enjoy lunch. Coffee was excellent!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Super Unique Coffee Shop in the heart of Mineola! Kind and Friendly Staff - Matthew was welcoming and offered suggestions. Shop is loaded with antiques and good vibes. There is an upstairs that is more private for meetings, etc. I really loved looking around the shop taking in all the local artists creations for sale. I can tell a lot of love went into making this shop a home away from home. We will be back for sure!
A touch on the expensive side, but the food, service and atmosphere were amazing. Relaxing and cozy, music plays quietly. Indoor and outdoor seating. High quality food and coffee. Great find! Also, you can tell that the owner loves both her shop and takes care of her employees.
This is an old house turned into coffee shop and it's really great. Lots of seating and there's an upstairs too. A lot of things to look at and they have a guitar in case you want to play. They are limited with bakery items, but the blueberry scones were good as well as the coffee. Don't be in a rush cause they are a little slow, but it's worth it.
Fantastic! My first time in and it was a good time and experience. Great for solo family or outings groups. Favorite items were the green chili soup and basil pasta. I will he back and so should you! Opens early at 7 am if you need a pleasant and hearty start of the day

EDIT: Coffee got much better. Giving an extra star. Never stop improving!! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I enjoyed visiting Cafe U for the decor and the location, but felt disappointed at the actual coffee I received. The setting with its furniture and comfy atmosphere is very nice, and I loved all the history in the house. Also enjoyed the friendly staff. I came really wanting a good cup of coffee, though, and Cafe U's brew seemed really weak and watery, with hardly any acidity to the cup. This seems like one of those places for people who really want flavors in their coffee, but not the coffee itself. Specialty coffee is hard, but it can be improved, so I'll come back soon.
We always enjoy the times we get to pop in. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing. The food is cooked fresh and is absolutely delicious 😋. Great place for meetings and study groups. Actually, it's a really great place for students. There are plenty of open spaces and plenty of more private places that are perfect for studying or doing online meetings. Definitely give them a try. #instantrelaxation
I saw a billboard for this one while on the way home and figured it might be worth the stop. For your value it’s not really there but if you want to eat coffee shop style food in an old house they fit the bill. We had salad and sandwiches, no coffee this time. But a peach smoothie, that was tasty. You could eat upstairs but it’s a turn of the century house and in summer or early fall, it’s a tad warm. They do have a drive thru if you happen to be in a hurry. And it looked like you could have meetings or little events as well. It was counter service where they called out your name when ready.
1st time there. Was not sure where and what to do when we first walked in. Ordering was a little confusing. The food was good, but not compared to cost. I enjoyed my lunch, my friend did not!! I had the turkey club wrap with green chili chicken soup 👍, and my friend had chicken salad on croissant and a salad. Said both were very dry. If in the area, I might try it again.

Very cool small town coffee shop. A little chilly on a cold morning but coffee was hot. Great historic building with great decor. Be prepared in the bathroom to be interrupted as the sliding door latch chain is long and can be opened by over 2 inches if someone tries to enter when you're using it. See pic. Good thing I wasn't shy.

My wife and I visited Saturday morning. She got the Cadbury coffee and I got the Cheese cake coffee, both on the list of April coffee specials. The Cadbury coffee did not taste anything like the expectation. No chocolate, nor Carmel flavors came through. The Cheese cake coffee I got was served cold, as recommended by the barista. It was horrible! I was so disappointed. The barista called my wife's name to pick up the coffee and did not even realize that we had ordered two coffees. The food smelled wonderful though we did not try any. The atmosphere there seemed good. We left with our coffees to get back on the road, but we left so very unimpressed.
The food is always good, but the coffee is very inconsistent. If you go on a Sunday expect burnt coffee with no sweetener, on other days it can be amazing but randomly through out the month the coffee will be borderline undrinkable
The food and coffee used to be amazing. Now it seems like every time I go , my coffee is extremely bitter to the point I can’t even drink it… like the espresso was left out way too long before it was mixed. Just today I had to go back up because they filled my coffee up only half way. If I’m paying 8 bucks for a coffee, I expect it not to left out too long and get bitter and to get a the cup filled
