Minturn Country Club

We love this place and try to go every time we go skiing in Colorado. Great steaks, salad bar, sides, service and ambience. It's not your fancy steakhouses atmosphere, it's very low-key and fun. Our server Alex did a superb job as well.

Stopped in for my “Let’s Go Brandon” special and was greeted with the same All American Service as the first time I wandered into the valley’s hidden gem! Thank you annnnd LET’S GO BRANDON! 🇺🇸🔥🥩🔥🇺🇸 Compliments to the chef👏

Minturn never disappoints! We only get to visit every few years but boy is it worth the wait.

It's different, you have to cook your own beef, but it's easy and fast. Great service.

Lovely experience. The stuff was very kind, accommodating us and an infant. Fun experience, you get to choose and cook your own steak. The appetizers were also good. The salad bar could use some love, but the passion you feel from the stuff supplement it :)

A good example of a Unique Funky Colorado Bar Restaurant. Staff was very kind. Mushroom appetizers were amazing. Salad bar and steaks were fantastic. A really unique experience cooking your own food on an indoor grill you can cook them exactly how you like them. The night we went we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Kind of like having a private restaurant without the price. I appreciated that you could split a steak between 2 people and just pay for the Salad Bar. Has a vibe like Little Bear Bar in Evergreen or Bucksnort Saloon in Pine.

Love this place. Old style supper club. Salad bar, great service. Prime steak that you cook yourself. If you like steak rare or medium rare I would cook a few minutes less than suggested on the wall. We grill alot and used common sense. Turned out excellent!

Great local place, casual. The choices of beef were so delicious. This is a cook your own meat place, though the staff will for you on request. The whole dinner was really good. We plan to return soon.

TJ is the best and the reason we drive out to Minturn. He always gives us the best hospitality and magic show. Can’t wait to see him again.

Besides that you have to grill your steak everything else was good , I recommend you try the stuffed mushrooms their are delicious, Jaír was our waiter and he was on top of it , the atmosphere was good as well , great place to eat

Great experience. The owner and staff were top notch. Excellent cuts of meat and terrific sides. Unique experience grilling your steak to your liking. You must try the ice cream dessert- delicious!

After coming off a five day backpacking trip, it was so awesome to have a wonderful meal and experience here. Enjoyed talking with the owner, love the concept and it will make me do a better job on my own personal steaks at home.

Absolutely incredible experience! The steak was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. A cook your own steak place. Good choice of steaks and seafood. My wife had salmon and I had NY. Sides and salads were plentiful and tasty. It is a small place and does get crowded around the grills as. You cook but good place to strike up a conversation.

This place is great, my entire family frequents the restaurant at least two or three times a year for a reunion. Cool atmosphere, the bar is fun and the owner is super nice. Cooking your steak on the grill is fun and unique. It is conveniently located in Minturn, definitely should check it out!

We visit the Vail valley once a year and always make a point to go to Minturn Country Club.

Have been here many times; if you can follow simple instructions you can grill a perfect steak and have fun doing it. The cuts of meat here are consistently wonderful and you’ll definitely want to get the dessert potato!

Such a fun time cooking your own steaks! The steaks were cut great! Fun experience for children! Highly recommend! I had the NY Strip 8.0 ounce it was great! The grill was fun! The twice baked potato is tasty! The salad materials from the salad bar make a pretty good salad!

Fascinating and very local steakhouse where you choose the steak you want to eat from the butcher and the take it straight to the gril for you to cook it. Very professional staff. Very nice atmosphere.

Awesome food, great atmosphere, solid service. Great value too vs everything in Vail Valley. Anyone fussing about how bad this place either A) doesn’t know how to cook steak or B) should just eat sushi in Aspen.

A very unique and fun steak spot in Minturn! I love the concept and the salad bar is delicious! High quality cuts of steak far cheaper than anywhere else and an excellent bourbon selection! Try the twice baked potatoe and the Minturn tater for desert! Excellent!

This is a great local find. The bar area is fun and the food is good. The highlight of the visit though is magician TJ Ricci - he does card tricks at the table and is beyond amazing!!!!

Cute place for a casual dinner après-ski. It’s a cook your own meal kind of place so it’s fun for younger kids. Salad bar is unlimited and we loved the grilled bread. Has a lovely char from the grill. If you don’t know what to pick as a side, highly recommend the double baked potato.

I really enjoy the experience of making my own steak at Minturn Country Club. We love going there every time we're in town. I recommend adding some truffle butter to the steak – it’s fantastic! The salad bar is excellent, and the atmosphere is great for kids. A def 8/10✨🥩🥗

Same place after many years. Good steak and sides in a nice casual setting. All the various cuts are good, truffle fries and crab cakes are great. Also the double baked potato is a must.

The inside is “well-loved” and could definitely use some repairs, but the food is delicious! Pick your own protein and grill it up yourself. Whatever is in the marinade at the grill is so flavorful. The kids loved the unlimited salad bar and bread. Pro-tip: slather some butter and garlic powder on the bread and grill it up too!

Nice surprise find for the family. Three pre-teen boys each polished off a steak. First time they ever grilled their own. Very good cuts of beef. My wife and I each devoured ours too. Very friendly staff. Dee was quick and attentive and explained things well. Gave good instructions on how to cook the steaks. Decent little salad bar but not the largest selection. But then again, we were there for the meat. It was a good atmosphere that is reflective of the Wisconsin Supper Club. Good drink menu and the bartender sounds like a card. It is worth the stop and the money (but yes it is pricey).

Ok, I will admit going in that I knew you could cook your own steaks here, but I thought it was optional. The prices are very comparable to a traditional steakhouse but you must work as your own cook. Even other entrees are cooked by you. Appetizers and sides are not cooked by you but take a very long time and are not that special.

Place needs some tlc, although the concept and the straps and salad bar were fine. Place has a ton of potential, but needs a refresh.

I made a reservation online for six of us on 11/16 for 5:30 pm which is their opening time. When we walked in, the hostess asked if we had a reservation and I answered yes. She finger pointed(not escorted) a table at the left corner right inside of the entrance to sit which was the darkest area of the restaurant. A few minutes later, another group of six white people walked in and they got seated inside room that was obviously much better than our table with better lighting. I asked server if we can moved to be the room inside where the other party was sitting. And then we were moved but our table was right in front of the exit door that was not operating at the moment. My legs and feet were cold the whole time. My party is all Asian and all of us felt that we were not welcolmed and some of us felt that we were discriminated. Our server was nicer but she could be friendlier. When we needed something, I had to walk over to the front to ask for it because the server never visited us other than taking orders and delivering foods. The entire time, there were only two tables including us and one guest at the bar. I understand that it was off season(according to the server) but I doubt if the restaurant is doing okay. We are staying in Vail and chose this restaurant over the ones in Vail or Breckenridge because the reviews were good for steak dinner but it was not a pleasant experience.

I don't understand the allure of this place. Salads in plastic wrap. Pick and cook your own expensive steak. Which may be fine for some people, but the open fire grill is one temperature. So getting a nice medium rare without heavily charring the entire outside was not possible. Interesting experience, but it's not for me.

We were sold a bottle of wine before we knew it was a cook your own steak place lol, didn't know cooking your own steak was a thing outside of my own home. Would have paid a few bucks more not to have to cook my own steak. 2 stars for the Hi Chews on the way out, steak quality was pretty good too.

I’m so sad to write a negative review but this place was terrible. For the price and the value it’s just so sad to say this does not make sense. The quality of meat is sub par. We got all different cuts for our 9 top group and only one person was happy their strip steak choice. Aka, me. The sides were Cold and not great to say the least. The only thing tasty was the truffle fries. The asparagus was a criminal act. Criminal. Tasted like poison. I’m sad to write this but it needs to be shared that this place is not at all worth its price. Our autograted check was $550 and sadly ate less than an 1/8 of our food.

Disappointing experience after wanting to try for many years. The waiter did a poor job of explaining how the restaurant worked, which is very different than most restaurants. He sort of mumbled and disappeared. The salad bar was good, but the tongs used for selecting food were laying on top of the lettuce when we arrived, which means anything on the previous customers' hands would now be on the lettuce we were about to eat, gross. The process is, to select your meat from the meat case and take it to the gas grill. As an avid steak cooker, I have developed a fairly good eye for quality beef, looking at marbling, etc. and this is average choice beef you would get at a US grocery store, although they have a prime option which was a little better. Not great, but ok. Some of the steaks in the case were turning brown, oxidizing after too much time in the case. Don't choose those! The grill is small and a bit awkward when multiple people are cooking their steaks. Since I cook steaks on the grill at home, I was fairly comfortable getting the correct temp. I found it odd that there were no workers around the grill to provide support to people that had no idea what there were doing. A couple of people around me were cooking 3" thick Filets, searing the outside, and taking them to their tables. They were most certainly very raw on the inside. Read less

The steaks were great but everything else needed attention. The drinks were slow to come out (we only had one round of beers during the whole meal). After the big deal about ordering sides with your steak, the sides came out when we were 75% thru eating our steak. One of the 3 sides was cold too. There are better options in the valley after the moment.

This was an extremely disappointing experience. We were previously told by family to give this place a try. A group of 5 friends, and I were very excited to grill our own steaks, and have a unique experience here in Colorado. What we were greeted with was nothing other than frustration and dissatisfaction To begin, when we walked in, we were not greeted kindly. After being seated and waiting a little while, our waiter came with water, and then just took off....no menu, no information, nothing. We asked about it, and he said he couldn't give us a menu, but could not explain anything either....so we were clueless as to what to do, or what our options were in regards to drinks, appetizers, etc. AND THEN HE DISAPPEARED AGAIN. Finally, we were taken to the area where we were able to grill our steaks. There was no guidance, no instructions. We attempted to figure it out for ourselves, and ended up with a few raw steaks despite following the only posted instructions on the wall. There was no one there to assist, or answer any questions on how to avoid that issue. The food was decent once we finally cooked/received it all. (Some sides arrived after we were finished eating our entree because our waiter never returned for us to let him know we never received it.) Some of our fries had to be sent back also because they were cold. To top it all off, for the lack of service, and for the mediocre food and experience, our bill was more expensive than prior places we had tried that were 10x better all around. All in all, the concept of cooking your own steak with your family/friends is great. The potential for it to be a memorable tourist destination is there. However, the way this place executes it all makes it nothing short of a disappointing experience. We will not be returning.

I rarely leave reviews but I’m sick the $ we spent for horrible food & service. WAY over priced. You cook your own meat great concept but the cut of meat was awful . We had filet & ribeye . Twice baked potato dry & awful flavor ,asparagus chemical sour taste shrimp cocktail slimy . Waitress should have noticed when we didn’t eat much no ask or offer to remove cost of sides. It appears your sides are included with your meat NO $8 for potato $9 for asparagus. Where I sat I stared at bottles of cleaning products pine sol window cleaner dirty rags . Our fault we should have left after walking in .
