Opinions de Ground Up Coffee Montebello
I like stopping by for a quick coffee and pastry before heading to work. It's right next to the 60 freeway and has decent coffee prices. Coffee tasted great too! I've tried a variety of their brews and espresso and you can't go wrong with any of the caffeine pick ups! Plenty of seating every time I go, the only issue is finding parking.
I was looking for a great coffee spot and saw that this has a perfect score. It definitely up there with the rating and solid customer service. I ordered a large latte, extra shot espresso and with almond milk. It was the perfect temperature and the flavor was just right. The cookie that was freshly baked was one of the best chocolate chip cookies I had and really complimented my coffee. The banana bread is excellent and one of the best I’ve had, wish it had nuts, but great overall. I’d definitely come back again and try their other menu items. Parking is limited to the street and it’s next to a solid golf course.
Best 👌 in the Eastside located in montebello parking available and easy access to get in n and out ...coffee is awsome 😍 👌
Great local gathering spot with good coffee and indoor & outdoor seating offerings. I got the vanilla cinnamon latte which was good. They didn’t have many pastry offerings, just some coffee cake, so more so just a coffee spot. You can bring work here, but this is really a pace to catch up with friends or stop to grab a local brew. 20-minute parking is available right out front which is nice, but it might be more difficult to find a spot if you’re looking to stay awhile. The baristas were nice. They also have a selection of books that you can check out which is fun.
Great coffee! The iced mocha had a hint of honey, which i did not hate. It was very good! Would try this place again when in the area. This shop does not have a drive thru.
A gem of a coffee shop in Montebello, I was looking for a nice place to meet up with a good friend and we found Ground Up Coffee half way between us. As I drove up, parking is located behind the shop and there are street parking (short term) around. The coffee shop seems to serve the locals and their coffee is very good!! My friend and I ordered their pour over coffee and we enjoyed the two different options (Las Iluvias wet & the yirgacheffe). Their baked good also seemed good; I had their tasty chocolate chip cookie. The barista that helped me was friendly and knowledgeable, and the shop was super clean and welcoming! Though a little small, it seems to have enough space for a few people to sit inside and a few tables on the outside. This place is very well done and cozy, and I highly recommend you check them out. They know their coffee!
I ordered "The April" and it was delicious. It's a cute little coffee shop. The interior is small and simple with very limited seating and good tunes. There is a nice outdoor patio with lighting and succulents. It's a nice little spot to chill or to meet up with a honey for a dose of caffeine. Mad props to the owners for being very considerate and having a kids drink menu. Too many coffee shops are lacking that.
Just visited this place the other day and I have quickly become a regular and committed customer. Had some of the best black tea!! It's such a cute and cool looking place. The owners are really nice too! It's got a great vibe and it's dog friendly! I would 100 % recommend this cool new coffee shop to anyone in the area. It's clean and totally comfortable to come and do work or if you need a quiet place to read. Another cool thing is there is a book shelf with a great selection! Stop by and check it out!
an overall great experience and nice little location easy to access off the 60 freeway. we came in on christmas day 2020 to grab a cup and were met with nice staff and quick service. i'm happy that they were open today as there were other people waiting in line as well. i think i'll have to visit again and try something else too.

This coffee shop is one of my top favorite. Coffee is always delicious and the service is great. It’s maintained very clean. Pet and kid friendly.
Down to earth spot that serves a solid cup of coffee. Their hot banana oat latte is great! Definitely a place worth adding to your regular coffee joint rotation
I visited Ground Up Coffee early this week. There was parking behind the coffee shop. I ordered 2 hot drinks and 2 pastries. The coffee was delicious and the pastries were great. There are plenty of chairs and tables. The decor is nice. Service was great and we received our drinks fast. Definitely a good coffee shop and I will be returning. #D-LOrecommended😃👍
My local spot. Literally the fastest coffee service ever. Your coffee is out in seconds. Usually that means you sacrifice quality… nope! Not here. Solid coffee and ownership that obviously cares about its product, service, and experience.
great place, we found ourselves here via Holiday adventuring! Staff was very helpful in helping us each decide on the best options to our liking, and they handled our (admit: weird!) special request with efficiency and perfection, we loved the coffees, and the staff was just so kind and friendly.

Overall: 7/10. This coffee place is pretty good. I would recommend going here if you like good coffee and relaxed vibe. *** Cappucino: 7/10. Their cappucino is pretty good. Their coffee machine seems to be top-notch. I just wish their coffee was a little more creamy and intense. Just to let you know that my 7/10 is pretty high). I rate Starbucks cappucino 3/10, Blue Bottle cappucino as 8/10, and my own espresso machine cappucino as 9/10 and 10/10 probably doesn't exist in this world. Service: 8/10. Nice guy at the counter. My cappucino was ready swiftly. No wait. I just wish he could smile a bit. However, I respect seriousness and professionalism. Interior: 6/10. Simple. Nice, relaxed vibe. Everything you need is there. Cool mural on their wall. They even have a terrace (facing a super busy street, tho). I like it, but... a little empty inside. Would be nice. Their chairs are basic plastic chairs with a lack of character. I wish they had a bar counter (or a long narrow table) at the center, with bar stools. Prices: 8/10. Just right. Small good cappucino is $4.50. That seems kinda correct price nowadays. Extra point: They have really nice reaxing music inside. Playing The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan and Etta James is always a big plus. Kudos here.
Ground Up Coffee is a small coffee shop on N. Garfield avenue in Montebello. They have modest selection of coffee and very limited pastries. They only offer a regular and large size cup coffee. Prices were fair. Indoor vibe was very chill and inviting. Staff was obsequious and amiable. I ordered a large Hazelnut Latte. It was perfectly brewed. Front and rear parking available. Overall, I had a good latte and order experience. I highly recommend this small coffee shop.
Super cute space! Parking in back is very accessible given that it's located on busy street. The staff definitely enjoys their work and spreads their joy to customers.

Nice environment. The Baristas are friendly. Also, I notice the place is clean and organized. Love the bookshelves full of books to read. Nice!
I’ve been seeing their drinks all over social media and since I love checking out new coffee spots on my days off, I was really looking forward to trying this place. It seemed like they put a lot of love into what they do, and I got the vibe that they’re really trying to grow their business and make sure everything they serve is high quality. I ordered an iced chai tea latte, and I’m just gonna be real—I wasn’t a huge fan. It tasted pretty watered down, more like spicy milk than a balanced chai. I could kind of taste the tea and spices, but not as much as I expected. The vibe inside the shop felt a little off too… the people behind the counter seemed a bit distant, which made the experience feel less welcoming than I hoped(i understand they’re most definitely tired from their busy days just stating my experience) I really liked the way the place was decorated. The little library nook was super cozy, and the outdoor area with all the plants was beautiful perfect for just chilling out for a bit. I just wish my first visit had gone a little differently Who knows maybe I’ll go back and try their coffee.

I tried giving this place multiple chances but the drinks are not very good, they’re a little expensive, and the service is not the best. Also, I’m lactose intolerant so I order drinks that already have oat milk in them, yet they still charge me extra for it. I questioned them once about it and not only did they act/respond like I was asking a stupid question but they told me it was already made with oat milk and there were no substitutes, yet still charged me extra for oat milk… it makes no sense to charge extra for something that cannot be substituted. It deters me from wanting to come back.

My fiancé and I drive past this little coffee shop almost daily. Today we decided to try it out since we were grabbing food from next door. As soon as we walked in the door staff immediately glanced at us and then continued to do as they were. No acknowledgement at all. We ordered our coffee’s the barista who took our order was not approachable at all. As she took our order, my fiancé who ordered first wanted to add an extra item, that’s when the barista said she had already charged for what we had. And walked away, there was no attempt to maybe add what we wanted we weren’t expecting it to be free. She then walked away and started to whisper to her colleague. I had to ask for her to add what we wanted clearly we knew she had to charge us. It was a very unpleasant experience. The coffee was good. It didn’t really taste like the flavor I asked for not sure if that’s how it is or maybe we were just given bad service. Hopefully the owners can fix this problem. They made us feel like we were bothering them. Besides that the establishment is very nicely decorated and they are pet friendly which is so nice. But your staff really sucks it kills the vibe.
Kindly asked oe of the owners for a cup of hot water. I thought he was going to be kind to me since I am a reular at this coffee shop, and show hisbemployees how to treat a customer. But he was very rude and denied the hot water. This coffee shop is too noisy, hard to concentrate. Do not recomend.
