She is so polite and answered all of our questions with a smile. Our experience going there along with her service I’d rate it a 10 out of a 10! Ask for Melanie also!

A Montgomery Gem That Never Misses – Phil’s Roadhouse ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’ve been coming to Phil’s Roadhouse for over 10 years now, and it continues to be one of the most consistent, comforting, and satisfying dining experiences you’ll find in Montgomery—or honestly, anywhere in the area. This place isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a tradition. From the moment you walk in, the laid-back, country-style atmosphere makes you feel right at home. It’s the kind of place where you can truly relax—quiet, cozy, and full of charm. The tables feel like they’ve seen a thousand great conversations and a million satisfied smiles. Now let’s talk about the food—wow. The portions here are beyond generous. You’re always guaranteed to leave with a to-go box, and trust me, you’ll be thankful for the leftovers. The onion rings? They’re absolutely to die for. Perfectly golden, crispy, and flavorful—honestly, they should be famous for them. Every dish is made with heart, and you can taste the difference. Service is another high point. The staff is friendly, attentive, and never overbearing. It’s the kind of place where the servers remember your face and maybe even your usual order if you’ve been a few times. Friendly, quiet and cozy atmosphere. Customer service was on top of their game. Food was served fairly quickly, onion rings were crispy and special sauce was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Baked potato was huge and delicious. I wish the bbq sauce wasn’t included in the chopped brisket… but on the side… Burger was juicy and bread was sourdough, yum yum!! Spotless restrooms. Overall, A very nice experience.

We stopped by after p6 farms visit and we had a large group. They were quick to set us up and get all orders, great staff and great options on the menus. Food was definitely great if you're in the mood for quick casual dining experience. We ordered many things but catfish and mac &cheese were a hit.

Atmosphere: Upon entry to the restaurant, it gives off a rustic homestyle vibe. From the outside, the transition to the interior decor is almost fluid with all the wood and metal signs. Moving to the bar area on the right side of the establishment you will see a fair amount of TVs to catch up with latest news/sports and wasn't relatively loud, so you could converse amongst your group. Service: The service was attentive, due to once we were given our menus, the waitress asked if we wanted anything to drink and then went to assist another table in which she then brought our drinks and asked if we wanted any appetizers prior to our meal choice. After our entree selection, she made us aware that she would bring out the salads first, upon receiving our salads, not too long after did we receive our entree. Quality: I ordered the Beef Tips and the portion size was very generous,but on top of that the flavor of the meal was great. I thought I would have issues with the mushrooms but they didn't even bother me, if anything I think it enhanced the meal. The combination between that and the mashed potatoes made it a dish worth getting again in the future. I would highly recommend getting the banana pudding if you have a sweet tooth, so much flavor and hasn't disappointed me whenever I get it.

⭐️ 3/5 — First Visit for Our Anniversary It was our first time visiting Phil’s after a friend’s recommendation, and we were excited to celebrate our anniversary there. The food was good overall, but we found it too expensive for what we received. The quality and presentation didn’t quite match the price point. One major issue was the paper placed under our chicken fried steaks. We were told it was for “sanitary reasons” to prevent cross-contamination, but as someone who has worked in restaurants for years, I found that explanation confusing. Dishwashing machines sanitize trays and dishes at high temperatures, so using paper under food (especially something covered in gravy that you have to cut) felt unnecessary and even unsanitary if the trays aren’t being properly washed which is the only explanation I could come up with for this. I really hope that’s not the case. Trying to cut the steak without tearing the paper was difficult, and I ended up dipping pieces into the Styrofoam cup of gravy just to avoid soaking the paper — not ideal for an anniversary meal. The flavors were okay, the atmosphere was cute, and our server was very nice. However, the strong Fabuloso cleaning scent was a bit overwhelming while eating. Also, a small note for management: please mention that the onion rings are slightly spicy. They tasted great, but I can’t eat spicy foods anymore and would have ordered differently if I had known. Lastly, just a safety tip — the light fixtures without bulbs could pose a hazard for small children who might touch the open sockets. Overall, there’s potential here — a few changes to presentation and details could make a big difference.

The fried pickles were pretty good. However, the patty melt was not so good. The bread ruined it. Was not so fresh and was hard as a rock on one end. I was advised next time to let the staff know so they can fix it. However if it was done correct the first time it would not have had to be fixed. It's not like the meat wasn't done correctly. First time at Phil’s and very excited to try a local place. The restaurant is as cute as it can be and the staff very friendly. We picked up dinner for 5 to take home. Unfortunately the food was the worst of frozen, deep fried, stale no flavor bar food that left us with old grease heartburn. Ordered a steak “medium”. Cook must have stepped out for his own break cause the steak was cooked well past well done. Zero flavor on the 3 bites of it I had. Seriously—do not come here. This place completely ruined my Christmas.I ate here two days before Christmas Day, and shortly after, my debit card information was compromised. This was the only place I used my card, so the timing isn’t a coincidence… Not to mention that I’am also out of state I was visiting my family for the holidays… And because of this, I was left without a debit card for an entire week during the holidays. No access to my own money, dealing with fraud claims, canceled cards, and constant stress instead of enjoying Christmas. Having your finances messed with over a restaurant visit is insane!!!! What makes this worse is that it we KNOW it was clearly someone who works here and handles payments. I reached out to the restaurant expecting concern or accountability, and got absolutely nothing. No apology. No explanation. No compensation. They couldn’t even refund the amount that I paid for at lunch before they scammed me of my money LOL. If a business allows its employees to mishandle customer payment information and then refuses to take responsibility, I don’t know about y’all but that’s a massive red flag. The lack of professionalism and care here is unreal. There are plenty of places that won’t put your money at risk. Please do yourself a favor and do not eat here.

This used to be one of my favorite places to go; the hour drive was never too much. However, it seems they've replaced all their staff with teenagers who appear to be in a rush. They were mopping the floor while other customers complained about the smell. I couldn’t even finish my phone call or my meal because a young girl kept telling me that her manager was trying to close up and asking if I could please pay. I told her I couldn’t find my card and to hold on, but she was very persistent. It was a big disappointment. I suggest making improvements or perhaps advertising to bikers; this would be a great biker club. Also, I noticed they serve side orders in small cups. I assume they do this to save for future use. If you need help sorting things out, please feel free to call me. I’m willing to assist.

Everything stated in the review is true regardless of someone I know getting terminated YEARS ago. For you to think I’m holding a grudge over that and leaving a review years later is an insult to my character. The customer is always right 😊 I was truly hoping to support a local small-town spot, but my recent experience at Phil’s was disappointing on several fronts, primarily centered around value and atmosphere. To start, the pricing feels completely out of step with what is being offered. Paying $35+ for a single appetizer and a side dish set a concerning tone right away. The portions and quality simply did not justify that expense. Compounding the issue of feeling nickel-and-dimed, I noticed their policy considers only six people a "party," which seems unusually low and restrictive for a small-town eatery, likely leading to unnecessary confusion or forced gratuity for larger families. However, the most noticeable and off-putting aspect of the visit was the palpable stress of the staff. The entire dining experience felt tense, like walking on eggshells. The main manager appeared to be nit-picky and constantly on edge, and her demanding presence seemed to filter down, leaving the rest of the staff visibly overworked and stressed. This tension led to awkward service. While some staff members looked exhausted, there was one employee who seemed completely oblivious to his surroundings and his actual duties. He spent time doing random, unnecessary "busy work" like meticulously wiping down an already clean area seemingly just to avoid being noticed or yelled at by the manager. Overall, the high prices and confusing policies are bearable, but the stressful, overworked environment created an incredibly uncomfortable meal. Until the management addresses the staff's well-being and re-evaluates their pricing model, I cannot recommend dining here.
