Their food is amazing. So much flavor and great quality without breaking the bank. Chicken korma and garlic naan never fails me. Great customer service too! Perfect for cold weather.

Quite literally the best Indian food this side of the Nile. I've had a lot of the dishes here and they are all so good. I think that the vegetarian dishes here are very scrumptious. All the other dishes are very delicious too! I like how this place has goat options, which are very hard to find. Great service, and the room is decorated very nicely. While the prices may be a bit steep, you must remember that this is a small business, and they're doing the best they can. While taste of Punjab may be infamous for their $7 rice, the price is completely worth the rice.

Mango milkshake baby!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently visited The Taste of Punjab, and I have to say, it was an outstanding experience! We tried a few of their specialties, including the Lamb Boti Kebab, Tandoori Chicken, and Chicken Tikka, and each dish was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and authentic, transporting us straight to the heart of Punjab. The Chicken Coconut Curry was a delightful surprise, perfectly balanced and creamy. The Mala Kofta was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the Goat Vindaloo had just the right amount of spice and tanginess. The location on Los Angeles Avenue is convenient, especially being close to Glenwood Park and the Tuscany Square Shopping Center. Next time I am ordering online for carryout but definitely try dine in first. The staff was friendly and ensured our order was correct. Whether you're dining in or taking out, The Taste of Punjab is a must-visit for anyone craving high-quality, authentic Indian cuisine.

We've been eating their cuisine for 5 years with takeout... We finally dined in for the first time, and the experience was top-notch. Bravo and thank you for such fine offerings, and a pleasant experience on top of it! Cheers

We love Taste of Punjab! We were there last week and had our usual meal which is always fantastic. Service is excellent and the family that runs it are really wonderful people that make everyone feel welcome. We love Taste of Punjab!

Excellent lunch with wonderful service. The samosas were hot and crispy - the chicken coconut curry and vindaloo were perfectly seasoned. It was cool and clean inside . Highly recommend!

This place is great and for the lunch buffet it can't be beat. One of the best parts of this buffet is the spice, most things are actually Medium spice instead of most lunch buffets that have zero spice. Not only does it make it more authentic, it really shows the pride they put into their food. Also the food in the buffet is always very hot which is great. Thanks for the amazing food and once our daughters get old enough we'll be coming for dinner. Also open a second location in Simi please ;)

The food was excellent and the restaurant was very clean. They promptly provided service and very courteous. The menu offers a variety of vegetarian and vegan options. The decor and Ambiance gives a wonderful feel where you get enjoy a nice romantic meal or a nice meal with your family. They also offer takeout options. The restaurant offers access card discounts and the food is excellent.

I haven't dined-in this restaurant yet but I order-in all the time. It is consistently amazing. The food is so great my family and I keep ordering from them over and over again. I recommend this place to my friends all the time. So I definitely recommend you give it a try!

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I would put Taste of Punjab up as my #1 Indian restaurant in all of Ventura and most of LA. We order doordash delivery from here at least twice a week! I'm vegetarian and the selections are all delicious! Their garlic naan is amazing as well as their regular naan. The rice is delicious, I mix it into everything, recently even mixed it in with medium boiled eggs (not on menu). I highly recommend the saag paneer!

This place is AMAZING! From the service to the food, it is truly and experience you do not want to miss. Fabulous service & delicious food? What more could one need when going out to eat? Also the boy who serves is the sweetest and has the best manners. Highly highly recommend!

We have been going to this resturant since it opened! We love this place! Their food, family feel and welcoming environment is the best you can get in Moorpark and surrounding cities! Not only do my husband and I love their food but our kids do too... making it a win / win! The food is delicious and we just love supporting a family in Moorpark who tries so hard to please the community!

Had an early dinner. We were the only customers in the dining room for most of the meal. We ordered Lamb Korma which was very tender and delicious. We also tried the Shrimp Coconut Curry, and loved it. Topped the meal off with plain rice and garlic naan. The only reason for a lower star on the atmosphere was a TV with the news on in the dining room.

If you like Indian food and haven't given Taste of Punjab a chance, you're doing yourself a disservice. Friendly staff greeted us right when we walked in. We were instructed to seat ourselves. I like that because them we get to choose the exact table we wanted. The food was so good I forgot to take more than one bad photo. We started off with samosas. Hot, crispy, and packed full of flavor. For our main dishes we chose chicken curry and lamb curry. Of course the chicken curry was good but let me tell you, the lamb is a must! Literally the best lamb I've had at any Indian restaurant. Succulent and tender, the curry enhanced the meat and didn't overpower the flavor at all. I got medium spice. If you like spicy, you'll want to go up a notch. Medium is flavor, with a kiss of heat. We also had jasmine rice and garlic naan. Both good. The naan was fresh out of the oven and had the perfect amount of garlic. I love garlic and can eated a head of roasted garlic by itslef, but I appreciate that this didn't have a lot. You get the taste, but it didn't overwhelm the other flavors of your food. If you like Mango, I'd also recommend the Mango Lassi. Very refreshing! I will absolutely be coming back and implore you to give this locally owned business a shot.

This place always hits the spot ❤️ iv been coming here with a friend for the past 2 years since it’s one of our favorite spots. The food is ALWAYS delicious 😋 the menu is large and the restaurant itself is beautiful and most of all CLEAN 🧼. Highly recommend everybody to try taste of panjab at least once because I know you’ll be back for more 😃

Went here with my sister and mother who said they never tried Indian food before. I’ve been to a couple of other places before and told them it would be my treat to try it. I thought this food was very tasty. We split between appetizers of samosas, chicken tikka masala etc. I enjoyed it, especially their garlic naan bread. Wonderful service too!

I've been wanting to go to this place for a while and while the Chicken Tikka Masala was great it just doesn't go great without the Basmati Rice and is more better than the typical frozen food you'll find at Target since there's no personality or soul attached to it...But it's too bad the buffet is no longer available although will come back soon.

Very good! I normally don't like tofu, but my wife decided to order the tofu soup for us to share. Amazing flavor! We also enjoyed the chicken tikka masala and tandoori chicken masala. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The food is always great and the service is unmatched. Easily the best dish here is the Lamb Vindaloo but realistically you could get a good meal here with any option. I find the best way to eat is with a side of garlic naan and a side of rice. I did not hear any microwaves that other reviews mentioned and the food seems as fresh as any I've had elsewhere. The waiter is very handsome and the customer service is unmatched.

Objectively the best restaurant in Moorpark. Even though most residents of this town probably have a mild palate, this place really does not skimp on the spices! My personal favorite is the lamb saag - the flavors are heavenly and fragrant. It's very apparent that they take pride in their food and don't cut corners.

Great food. What a surprise dining in. Delicious Indian food is so close to home. I love soup, and it was wonderful. Among the other dishes we ordered. It was just a quiet night dining in, so it would've been nice if there were a bit more patrons. But the service and food were wonderful. A dine in or takeout for sure.

As a connoisseur of Indian cuisine, this one was recommended by a coworker who resides in the Moorpark area. Upon arriving at the establishment, I noticed the prominent family ownership and was graciously assisted by one of the children who happened to be present. The restaurant had a strong cosmopolitan design, but decorated with images of Indian culture. The buffet had about a dozen choices available, including favourites such as chicken tikka masala and samosas. Sampling a few of the provisions, the quality was excellent and appetizing. The staff were polite and grateful to provide the service that I extended much thanks. I always leave my ratings short of perfection, for that kindly encouragement to always strive to improve. But the experience at Taste of Punjab was very pleasant and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone who is fond of Indian cuisine. Many thanks to the staff (and the child) who provided a most enjoyable visit with good food.

This was my first time eating at Taste of Punjab and I was very happy with my experience. My daughter has gotten take out several times but this was our first time eating inside the restaurant. It was a Wednesday during lunch time but the restaurant was empty. I’m guessing that most people get takeout. The staff was very friendly and the food was flavorful and very comforting. We had the samosas which were very flavorful but a bit too spicy for me. We had the butter chicken with basmati rice and garlic naan. All of which was delicious and quite filling. The serving size was perfect for two people and the prices were very reasonable. I will certainly be back to try their other dishes.

I dined in Sunday evening 6/4/2023 and the restaurant was empty except for one other person dining alone. I figured most people take orders to go. The food was good. I ordered Goat Vindaloo hot, chicken korma medium, aloo golbi medium, garlic naan and white rice. This was plenty of food for two people, but was around $60, including tax before tip. That said, my experience has been that Indian and Pakistani restaurants tend to be on the more expensive side, so relatively this place wasn't any more or less expensive. The goat vindaloo was very good, however some pieces of meat were tough, while others were tender. The sauce was thick, savory and spicy, but not so hot it wasn't enjoyable. Any dish can be ordered mild, medium or hot in terms of spice level. If you're used to eating spicey food, I suggest ordering everything hot. The ambience was OK, but the restaurant is dimly lit. They have many different Indian beers in the bottle you can try that come in different sizes, with largest 650ml at $9. The staff is friendly and attentive. There is plenty of parking right in front of the restaurant. I would dine here again, but probably take it go.

Had a nice dinner at Taste of Punjab. Dishes were made fresh. I liked they don't use too much oil in their cooking. Paul the owner and staff were nice. Will go back again. They also have good options for delivery including GrubHub.

The food was only okay when compared to other Indian Food places in the Conejo Valley. The sauce in the chicken coconut curry and in the chicken tikka masala were pretty good, but there was hardly any actual chicken meat. The saag paneer, which is normally one of my favorite dishes at other places, was flavorless and disappointing. They also forgot the rice we ordered and we had to go back for it.

s
shreya ciryam

Waiter was borderline demeaning. He spoke as though one should know everything on the menu. Food tasted okay, nothing that had a wow factor. The mint chutney has green food coloring in it, not a fan of food coloring. Indian cuisine /cooking does not require coloring, disappointed with that. Overall just an average 3/5 kinda place, nothing too fancy, nothing too great, prices are similar to standards, wouldn’t return unless there was compelling reason to.

I got lunch take out from here since the reviews are pretty good. I ordered the chicken Tikka Masala and garlic Naan. The food was pretty good but to my surprise, the chicken Tikka Masala does not come with rice. This is the first Indian place I've gone to where the rice isn't included. I would say for the price this isn't worth it.

Taste was not as good at all, the food was not fresh, it seems that they just repacked leftover food and gave it to us. The chicken/aloo paranthas we ordered had no chicken/aloo in them at all. Overall a bad experience. Only the samosas, the Owners and their service are good rest of everything i would suggest you to avoid.

If I compare food back home and from this restaurant, I would be honest and say it doesn’t match anything to Punjab. I ordered medium spice and everything was sweet. The mint chutney looked so fake it had a strange green color and a jelly like texture. Chicken tandoori was dry. There was more onion and bell peppers in the curry than actual meat. I have never seen bell pepper in curries in india. I was so excited to try the food from here but I guess not again.

I don't normally write negative reviews and neither do I send back food unless I absolutely can not eat it. just want to say that the staff here is incredibly rude from what I can assume is the owner. The food is mediocre at best but the peshwari naan we got was burnt and the chicken makhni was under seasoned (the owner says it's because it's mild, I've had mild makhni at other restaurants and it was plenty flavorful) and the quality of meat was poor as in really bad. I felt sick eating it. That's not my issue though, it's the service and cleanliness. I barely ate any of it and any other restaurant would have comped the meal while this owner forced my mother to pay for the meal saying he spent money making it. My mom also walked by the kitchen and said the floor was disgusting but we thought it's difficult to clean floors and we'd give it a shot. However, I would tell anyone looking to eat here to look elsewhere. There's a reason this restaurant is empty at lunch on a weekend, and if it's not the staff and owner that are rude it's the food.

I went with a friend to this restaurant for the lunch buffet. The ratings on this site are mostly very favorable. Mine is not. This review is for the buffet only. The buffet was very limited. When we arrived the buffet had two types of chicken, with 2 pieces of each type! They brought out more as more people came in. The amount they brought out was in small quanity. I've been to many Indian buffets and this was was the smallest I've ever seen and amongst the most expensive. For two buffets and ONE drink,it was over $28.00..PS..there was no naan put out for the first 15 minutes we were there.

Ordered chicken tikka dish , it was literally raw ! Tried to tell me I didn’t know what I was talking about , it was solid pink and I could not cut it . I asked for a refund , they refused and tried to tell me that I switched the food with something else .. this place sucks go elsewhere. The lady cook in the back was screaming at me . No wonder this place is empty

Absolutely horrible food and customer service. Placed an order online, picked it up, got home and the chicken wasn't fully cooked, still was pink on the edges and chewy that a fork couldn't even cut into it. Went back and got questioned stating I doctored the picture showing the raw chicken, then after getting a refund got yelled at by both the owner and the lady that was in the back cooking food. Such horrible customer service and felt super uncomfortable being an alone woman at this establishment and getting yelled at by two people. Not a single person was even eating here and it was dinner hours, that should have said something right there. Stay away from this establishment.

We order over 100$s of food from here every couple of weeks and have never been dissatisfied. But a recent experience has us convinced this place has turned into a dump. We ordered multiple items and fish masala. The fish had gone bad and was smelly. We've ordered it before and have never got it so stinky and rubbery. I called to let them know so they can fix it and prevent food poisoning to their other patrons. The lady on the phone was outright rude and defensive that she's served the same fish to so many people today and no one has complained yet. Extremely pathetic tone and no common courtesy when speaking to a customer. Don't recommend this restaurant to anyone...go elsewhere for Indian food instead of spending money here and becoming sick.

We gave this place a try tonight because we live close by and have been wanting to try it but we won’t be back. The food was not good. Everything was overly sweet. It tasted like pure sugar had been dumped into each dish. Rice was watery and mushy and naan was soggy and rubbery. Really disappointed considering the $$$ we paid for it.

Ordered a simple Chicken Curry ($21), the container already had fat floating at the top, which was a red flag for me. The chicken curry was VERY watered down, I could barely taste the chicken curry. I was very offended, seems like they're trying to save money on spices or whatever. I'm sure if I had given the food to an Indian person they'd also be offended.
