Mama Mia in Morgan Hill is an amazing Italian dining experience. We loved LUIS - he is amazing. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, truly a mi casa es su casa kind of place. It is the kind of spot that feels perfect whether you are just relaxing, having a nice dinner, catching up over drinks, gossiping with friends, or socializing. I miss their 2 for $20 paste night. We loved the pasta, and the pizza pies were outstanding. The ingredients tasted natural, fresh, and delicious, and the buttery crust was absolutely perfect. One of the pizzas had ham, Italian sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, and bacon, and every topping stood out. The ham was flavorful and not dry, the sausage was juicy, the pepperoni was crispy, the mushrooms were perfect, and the bacon was crunchy, salty, and just right. The desserts were also fantastic. The cheesecake with blackberry topping was delicious, and the tiramisu was moist, rich, and full of chocolate flavor. The drinks were perfect for any occasion, whether you want to unwind, enjoy a full meal, or spend time talking and laughing with friends. What truly made the experience special was the service from LUIS. He exemplifies the kind of hospitality people imagine from another era, when waiters knew your name and made every guest feel welcome. He was energetic, smiling, and constantly checking to make sure everyone was being taken care of. He did not just check on us, he was attentive to the entire room. The young hostess was also very warm and welcoming, which made the experience even better from the moment we arrived. Mama Mia delivered excellent food, desserts, drinks, atmosphere, and outstanding service. We will definitely be back. Outstanding. Cheers 🥂 🍷 🥂 🍷 🥂
We had such a wonderful dinner at Mama Mia in Morgan Hill. We ordered the New York steak, the cioppino, and the calabrese, and each dish was absolutely delicious in its own way. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked, the cioppino was rich and comforting with tons of seafood, and the calabrese had amazing flavor with just the right amount of heat. And of course — dessert. The tiramisu and chocolate mousse were the perfect finish. Light, sweet, and so satisfying after such a great meal. The ambiance was cozy, the service was quick and attentive, and the whole experience felt relaxed and enjoyable. Mama Mia definitely made our night, and we’ll be back for sure. 🍝🥩🍰
This family Italian restaurant serves good, no great food. Loved the bread, and my dish spaghetti shrimp topped with fresh basil leaves. Well, I could have licked the bowl.
Excellent service! Great atmosphere! We came in for lunch and everything was wonderful. Food was fresh and fast.
From the moment we entered we were promptly greeted and seated. From start to finish the staff was friendly, quick, and highly available for ordering more and picking up used plates. The food was delicious, and we appreciated the special dietary requests and alterations we had being met with a prompt 'yes we can'. This allowed us to enjoy a wonderful Italian 'with a twist' meal that we haven't had in a very long time! The crab cakes were definitely top notch! We already have our next meal and appetizer plotted out 😉
Gorgeous resturant. Grape vine covered patio, lightfilled dining room, giant bar with 3 tvs, banquet rooms. More Italian than Mediterranean. Delightful menu. Our food was excellent. Spinch salad with large filet of grilled salmon and a pasta dish.

Good food, good service. Happy to recommend it. Pizza, hummus, Tatziki were all excellent.
Morgan Hill Mama Mia's -Wow excellent food and wine!. Excellent and friendly staff. Fantastic atmosphere what more do you want for dinner...oh great jazz too. I had the blackened salmon and my wife had the lasagna both were really, really good!!!
As I stepped into Mama Mia's, I was greeted by the inviting aroma of freshly baked bread and aromatic herbs—a promising start to the evening. The restaurant's cozy ambiance, adorned with Mediterranean-inspired decor, created a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Love their appetizers... try the fried artichoke hearts. We have a good-sized extended family with different dietary interests. They have something for everyone. Their service is friendly and quick and we always have a good time.
NEVER have had a bad experience here. Got married and had reception here. Had a Graduation celebration here last night. The waitress, Destiny had do deal with 5 separate tickets. The people on those tickets were not even sitting together. She kept it straight and all of our orders were delivered about the same time. The cook staff never fails to deliver food that is remarkable in taste. We had 30 people. Manager, Shawna Pacheco and her staff are so fantastic. You're treated like family. Make yourself happy and take a trip to this place for lunch or dinner.
Great entrees, terrific pizza, reasonable drink prices.
We had an appetizer that was humus , pita bread with cheese and another "dip" it was phenomenal. Very tasty . They offer patio and outdoor patio dining and with the weather it was a great experience. Our main entree were good portion sizes and very tasty . Great overall experience.
Pizza, calamari, and tiramasu were wonderful. The waiter kept our beverages full and was very attentive without being bothersome. If we lived locally, this would be our regular pizza joint. Lots of fresh ingredients.
Held a birthday party here, in the private dining room, and it was fabulous! The staff were spot-on with attentiveness and professionalism. The manager, Damien, always made himself available to us in the weeks prior to the event, to ensure everything would be perfect. The food and atmosphere are both great and the patio is beautiful.
Good food and a great outdoor patio gives this place an A +. This place has a charming patio with tables and chairs placed with good social distancing. I ordered the Angel hair pasta. A delicious variety of fresh tomatoes, spinach and pasta. Added prawns to the dish.... delicious!!! Very good service too.
Amazing place with incredibly nice and welcoming staff! My friends and I had an amazing dinner experience. Thumbs up from appetizers, to main dishes all through desserts!
Highly recommend this Italian restaurant! The food was outstanding, with authentic flavors and generous portions. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made the dining experience even more enjoyable. A must-try for any Italian food lover.
I am delighted that food at Mama Mia is so good. I will definitely comeback here and try every dish that they have on their menu. Can't wait on our next visit. Good job Mama Mia!!!
Growing up in Gilroy and having mama Mia's here and there had us stunned when we came to the Morgan hill location. There was a waterfall and live band playing. Great food, wonderful service. Overall we will definitely be returning here. Great experience over all
Went for lunch not very crowded. Very nice interior with option to seat inside or patio. We went for patio which is partially covered. Ordered our food. Drinks were served quickly. For the amount of customers there we did have to wait for a bit too long but when we were served our food it was well worth the wait. I enjoyed this place
The ambiance of this place is great. There is bar, indoor, patio and outdoor seating. The service was excellent, fast and friendly. My friend ate so much bread with oil and vinegar he didn't eat his meal. My meat ravioli was delicious. Perfect place for an event with private room for birthday or family get together that easily fits about 40 people or outdoor area can hold about the same. Didn't try any cocktails but i do hope to return to do so.
I looooooooooved this place, we went for a dinner date before Valentine’s Day. It was perfect we sat at the bar and enjoyed everything we ordered from the appetizers to the entree and still had room for dessert. Service was great from the waitress to the bartender. Manny has such a good personality he had my husband and I laughing and enjoying being out. Food was hot and soooo delicious 🤤 that my husband and I took our group of friends for dinner a Sunday ago and they enjoyed themselves.. I give this place higher than 5 stars if I could. Can’t wait to try it out when the weather is warmer.. Thanks manny again for such an amazing experience. my hubby made a great choice of choosing the bar and coming in to dine!! My husband is the best..
I recently dined at a charming Italian restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere. The warm, inviting decor and soft lighting created a cozy yet upscale vibe. The food was delicious, with a well-rounded menu of classic Italian dishes, each prepared with fresh ingredients and rich flavors. The highlight, though, was the patio area—a perfect spot for an al fresco meal. It was beautifully landscaped, offering a peaceful and relaxing setting to enjoy the meal. Overall, a wonderful dining experience with great ambience and solid food, ideal for a casual evening out or a special occasion.
My wife and I came in tonight and Nichole was our server. She was absolutely AMAZING. The food was delicious. 10 stars
The owner is very professional compassionate & generous with the successful restaurants.
Sitting outside under the grape leaves arbor is wonderful during the spring and summer. Damian the manager has everything under control and the food is consistently delicious. When I suggest meeting my friends at other restaurants, they insist on going to Mama Mia's, and I can't say they are wrong from the servers to the meals. All who work there are pleasant and customer service-oriented.
I've always loved Mama Mia's. The patio seating is wonderful and the water fountain is gorgeous. The other day the kitchen had messed up a pizza someone at my table ordered and the manager Michaela came over and helped us out and made it right! She and all the other staff there are very friendly and helpful. The food and drinks are always great. Will be returning!
Very nice grape vine covered outdoor eating area, with a cool fountain, quite. Salmon linguine was excellent, as well as the bread and dipping sauce. Lots of parking. Service was good. Prices were 15-25.
Food was delicious. Service was good but a tad slow. Lovely atmosphere. Damian is an awesome waiter.
I had spaghetti it was so good, especially the next day when I brought The Leftovers home. Everybody had a great time and loved their food.I didn't hear any complaints.
The food is great and the staff is very friendly! I tried the Mediterranean Chicken, the 5 cheese pizza and the chocolate cake. My husband tried the chicken Toscana, the 5 cheese pizza and the canoli. We both enjoyed the generous portions, the delicious taste and the fresh ingredients! 👍👌
We ordered lasagna, chicken Alfredo and calabrese trays for a family gathering. We also had a garden salad with rolls. All the food was simply amazing; the salad and rolls were super fresh and the pasta dishes were far above expectations for that large of quantities. The service from ordering to bringing the food to my car completed a great experience.
Took a cheese pizza and garlic bread as takeout. Brilliant pizza! Super cheesy and very well baked. Loved it. Garlic bread seemed a little well done, but was delicious with a nice portion of warm marinara. Definitely fresh tomatoes and mozzarella. Would try it again for a done in, but would definitely recommend this place. Oh and it has a bar with some large screen TVs to watch a game and chill.
The food is delicious. I've had most of the items on the menu. My all time fav is the Linguini Pescadore
Went with a group of 6 for dinner. The front of house staff were great; friendly, helpful, attentive. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. We had a reservation and were promptly seated. We ordered bruchetta and calamari appetizers. For entree's we had the Poached Pear Salad, Mediterranean Chicken Salad, Linguini Pescadore, Calabrese, Fettuccine Alfredo w/Chicken, and of course..a pizza. Everything arrived in a timely manner, served hot. Portions were a good value for the price. Feedback from my dining companions was that everything was great! The Linguini Pescadore had plenty of clams and seafood. My colleague was very happy. Another person in our party said he always stops in and orders the Calabrese when he is in town. It is his favorite. None of knew about the outdoor seating area. We would've sat out there. It was very nice. The water feature was pretty. Would recommend!
My new favorite lunch spot for girls day out! I had the cheese tortellini pomodoro and I'm obsessed! I can't wait to go back and have it again! The staff is amazing. They are so pleasant and attentive. This is definitely a place that is perfect for lunch but also very nice for a romantic dinner. They have inside and outside seating.
Great parking, great aesthetic, and great service . Elias went above and beyond to ensure we always had bread , water , etc. at one point I was choking and Elias ran to get the pitcher of water. Overall good experience . Shout out to Elias .

Solid food and options. Had the salmon risotto and Gorgonzola salad with shrimp. The salad was very large and shrimp juicy. The salmon was tasty but just slightly overcooked. Overall good comfort food. Service was great. We came 1/2 hour to closing and they were very accommodating.
We had the eggplant scaloppini and lobster ravioli with minestrone and clam chowder. The chowder was excellent, the eggplant and minestrone were good. Overall, the ravioli was good as I could see and taste the shrimp, the green onions. The shrimp had the expected texture. However, the ravioli filling had neither the texture nor the taste of lobster, so I was disappointed. The outdoor patio's waterfall was working and added to the ambiance of our dining experience. We were looking for a venue for our 50th anniversary and are considering this location. See attached pictures.
Atmosphere is great, food was outstanding, service was okay. Menu is extensive and well prepared and presentation is terrific. I had tiramisu for desert and it was very good. Plenty of parking and great easy to get to location. Will definitely be back!

After living in Morgan Hill for a couple of years – and after passing by Mama Mia's numerous times – my wife, daughter, and I decided to give it a try. We normally see the parking lot full and often wanted to visit. Finally, we went in on a rainy Friday night recently and were seated immediately. The place was about half full at the time and we were seated at one of the first tables in the main dining area. Friendly staff made sure we had filled water glasses and food came fast. Wine was recommended by the waiter and it was a good choice. Started with nice bread and an antipasti: Fried Artichoke Hearts. These were not overdone and were great. For dinner, I had Calabrese and downed the well portioned plate. Happy. My wife had a minestrone soup and Mama's wedge salad. The minestrone was tasty and had no pasta as an ingredient. The wedge salad was great, too. She didn't finish it all, as she filled up on bread and artichoke hearts. My daughter, not very hungry at the time, ordered The Mediterranean pizza. I had none, but my wife and daughter had a couple of slices, so we had leftovers for sure. They said it was great, but I didn't find out until a late night snack. Awesome. All in all I give it a 4 based on service and taste. We'll see when we go back during a busy time...
Standard Italian fare. Really good garlic cheese bread and a generous portion. Spaghetti sauce average but the meatballs are really good. Our server Daniel was awesome. Very attentive without being over attentive. Really seems like a good guy and was a pleasure to have him as our server. Nothing fake about his demeanor just to get a tip. A little on the pricey side.
Everything was good. I wish the veggies and bacon was chopped into smaller pieces in my linguine aglio olio supreme. My water was never filled up a second time. There were a couple fruit flies buzzing around probably from the indoor plants they have that were healthy.
Wonderful place. Great for meeting up. Had a wonderful meal and great company. Woulf come again. Check it out.
Food is above average. We have had pizza, seafood pasta, salads and more and have always enjoyed them enough. Atmosphere is good. Hit and miss on the quality of wait staff but generally ok. Nice bar area and outdoor dining area. Happy hours are fun.
Went last night. Got there at 5:30. Was very warm indoors so opted for the patio. It was great out there. Sun was blinding a couple of times but other than that it was an awesome venue. The food was much better than previous reviews. We loved the Calamari and Artichoke appetizers. Drinks were average at best unfortunately. Meals were awesome. I had the Paella which was cooked perfectly and had just the right bite of spice. My wife have the Salmon which as great. My best friend had the spicy sausage pasta which he enjoyed and his wife had the Moroccan Chicken which was also very good. Will go again. Well worth a little drive from San Jose!
Had a party of 8 for my father's birthday dinner. Our server was friendly and professional. All items arrived at a good pace and were very well prepared. Portions were good for the price.
Seafood pasta dishes in white sauce are Outstanding. .. Service is Always excellent. Entire crew hustles like their pants are on fire. Well oiled team here. Waiters Always friendly and Polite. Never had to wait for a table. Excellent place for large gatherings.
Spacious and Covid compliant. Had the strawberry salad but added salmon: delicious! Salmon was very fresh. Only bad thing was the drink! Ordered a mango margarita: watered down & zero mango taste. Hubby ordered the chicken parmigiana which was decent. Overall, would certainly return and try other menu options. Nice waitstaff!
The best fried calamari in the South Bay. Friendly atmosphere and great live music in outdoor courtyard on Thursdays during the summer. Great happy hour with excellent pizza for a reasonable price. And the house baked bread with balsamic and olive oil dipping sauce is awesome.
Food is excellent and so is service. Prices are reasonable. Atmosphere is a bit wonky. They could use a professional to redo the interior. The outdoor patio may be nice but it was too cold when we went
Ambiance was fantastic outside for lunch. My food was waaay too salty though. Had the smoked salmon and Sun dried tomato linguine and it was so salty I couldn’t even eat it barely. I took my leftovers home and added tons more pasta to it that I made myself so I could finish it. But I will say there was a lot of smoked salmon. Maybe even too much for the amount of pasta you got.
Been going here for years really love there food. I go for the Moroccan Chicken every time wife jumps around the menu. Today I was disappointed chicken portion has gotten smaller.
We were in a hurry so couldn't relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The waterfall and relaxed atmosphere. My friend and I found the food to be very good. The server took our order quickly and we were able to eat and pay quickly. We made it to court which was just around the corner on time. Which was a plus.
My guest and I had the Lasagna and Fettuccine Alfredo respectively. Both dishes were tasty and quite filling. We ordered some garlic bread which was slightly burnt, but tasted pretty good. Bathrooms were clean and appropriate. Service was above average. It was everything one would expect at a restaurant that serves (amongst other things) Italian food.
Good service! The food is a bit overpriced for the portions and what it is (American wannabe Italian), but the ambiance is great. The wine selection is horrible, specially for a place surrounded by wineries. Why not add those local wines?? Bring your own wine and don't expect authentic Italian and it's a decent spot for a local night out.
Good Italian fare in Morgan Hill. Good service, reliable food quality, good place to eat. It can get quite noisy, especially on a weekend for lunch with very large parties of kids. We came again on a slower Saturday and ate outside - lucky for us it was an unusually cool suumer day. It's quitr beautiful outside on their veranda covered by vines growing grapes.
This place has a beautiful atmosphere with such a nice dining area, bar and patio. I love the open concept of the dining and just being here is really beautiful. We sat on the patio and the waterfall and everything was nice. The bar drinks you definitely get what you pay for. Nice and strong. The food was all delicious and the cost was surprisingly not as high as anticipated. Definitely recommended.
I like going here. They have very good priced kids portions and I love the sauce they put with their tortellini. Sometimes it just easier to get it to go. But I can't post any real complaints about the place.
The food was good and service was great. I had the seafood pasta and it was delicious. In a prior visit, I had the lasagna and it was pretty good as well. Just needed accompanying sides and it would have been perfect. That may be on me though since I didn't have my glasses and couldn't see the menu all that clearly 😄. Overall, a good meal!
Went for a funeral reception. The staff were very responsive and the food was very good for being buffet style (organized by host). The bar was perfect. Try the patio seating, looks very nice!
A good solid offering of food. Excellent service and a quiet atmosphere. Food offerings span middle eastern to Mediterranean. Lamb burger is superb and a welcome change from the usual beef. Pasta dishes are substantial. You may need a take home box.

Food was just ok. I don't know if I would eat here again if I had the choice. Place feels like it needs a makeover. Outside patio looks nice but dated. This place is just OK and for just ok, I would rather eat a home and save money. I mean, if someone offered to take me here for dinner and pay the bill I would happily go. I just can't rave about my experience.
We went to Mama Mia for the first time on Mother's Day recently. It's a very big restaurant with even outdoor seating. We had to wait as it's was very busy. Eventually we found a spot. The outdoor seating is really nice with grape Vines and fountain. The service was super slow. At one point we thought the server actually forgot our order. Good thing they got some complimentary bread and dip.. Being vegetarian, we order the hummus plate, which was okay. The pita bread was too crispy. Then we ordered the goat cheese veggie pizza which was very good along with ravioli pasta and garlic bread which didn't impress kids. Overall ambience is very nice and food is okay .
The food was good not great but we would go back for the bar. Drinks & food took awhile to come out but our kids food came out quick. They do have a beautiful patio which we will be back for in the summer. My wife did really love her shrimp salad.

I came here a few years ago and it was fantastic. Great food heart service perfect value. So when I found myself in Morgan Hill again I for sure was excited to go back... I guess it was too much to expect good service, or good food. The waitress was so impersonal. Gave us menus didn't say anything and walked a way. Finally came back and took our drink orders. The restaurant looked like there was just a bunch of teenagers. Servers were more interested in hanging out with the chefs, talking laughing telling jokes. There bus boy did a better job then out server.. she was bothered when we asked for more water, she was bothered when we asked for more drinks. She was bothered to do anything for us. She would much rather play with the others servers with the chef. The good was but not great. The night started off bad when she sat us and it stayed the same. I was very disappointed in this place. No, we will not need back again
Food was good but felt rushed. Waiters kept coming to our table asking if they could take our plate even though we were still eating. Finally we just removed our pizza from our plates and put it in a to go box so they could take our plates. This was around 7:40pm and they don’t close till 9pm.
This place is rather disappointing. They didn’t serve polenta, which is as Italian as pizza and pasta. I had the Moroccan chicken. Yes, it’s an Italian dish. Recall that Rome conquered much of that part of the world, with Italy becoming modern-day Rome. I thought the Moroccan chicken was decent but not great. In general, everyone at our table said that the food was of average quality. Remember how I started this review by saying that an Italian place doesn’t serve polenta? We did order dessert and tried to order a cappuccino. The waiter was embarrassed to say they don’t serve cappuccino. He added the machine is supposed to be arriving soon. Word of warning: For parties of 6 or more, a service charge is automatically applied. That being said, I have to give them props for still rendering good service and checking up on us often.
Adult food is excellent but my child’s order got messed up. Fine- it happens. But instead of bringing a new pizza with correct toppings, they took the pizza back, picked off the pepperoni (missing a bunch) and added the correct topping on top.
Service was good, people were really friendly. But unfortunately food was below average, prawns were undercooked. Plates were not clean.
We ate a memorial lunch here, and the reserved area didn't seem large enough to hold the whole party. Half of the family/friends had to sit outside, which was separated from the inner room by a wall, therefore half of the party was unable to sit and watch the slideshow or hear anything being said. None of the tables were marked for the immediate family, so they were left to find seats whenever they arrived (which wasn't as soon as some of the other guests). I feel like the event could've been handled better, but it also could've been a lot worse...
Atmosphere is soothing, with a backyard waterfall and indoor TVs focused on the SF Giants. Food is okay. Service is good, but they need a few more waiter/bartenders.
Great ambience to dine with friends and family. Portion size is generous and pricing is reasonable for the quantity. Good service from staff. However, my Lebanese scampi lacked salt and the bruschetta topping had shredded cheese in it which I didn’t like. Also the fried artichokes were way too oily, though I ordered because of its good reviews in the past.

I went for dinner the other night with my boyfriend and the food and servers were amazing but the restaurant was extremely hot and uncomfortable. I overheard from servers saying how one of them felt like they were going to pass out and complaining how they weren’t allowed to use the air conditioner? Is it broken?? That is ridiculous!! If it was hot for me sitting down and having dinner imagine the poor servers running food back and forth?? Something needs to change because I will not come back if this is how they treat their employees
We sat for more than 20 minutes with no attention. Our server never checked on us. Someone else brought the entree and appetizer at the same time.
Every time I call and make a reservation, when I show up they say my name is not on the book and they end up giving me a table off on the side that gets minimal service. The food is amazing. But the experience is poor. I suggest to DoorDash from here I stead. Maybe if you're friends with the owner it's different.
Pits and Scores. Overcooked coconut shrimp—chewy, exterior slightly burned. Maybe worth $8.00 but not $15.00. The sauce was way too spicy! I was overwhelmed to the point where I had to stop eating the sauce. I am a chili lover from an Hispanic family who was raised on spice however this sauce was not to be expected at an Italian restaurant. I ordered the Greek Salmon. I picked out about a third of the Romaine lettuce and set it aside on a separate plate as these were colorless, tasteless Romaine ribs. Our waitress understood immediately without me uttering a word. She replaced it with a bowl of greener leaves with additional olives, artichoke hearts, etc. One of the olives had a pit All other olives did not. I pointed this out the manager who explained “we don’t check our food before sending it out…that’s the way we get them.” That’s not to say that the Rosemary rolls weren’t absolutely delicious: warm, tender on the inside and just a slight bit of crispy crust partnered with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Despite the food, our waitress, Viviana, and servers were great: prompt, courteous, and on top of their game: water, bread, etc. were there within a few minutes of seating. There’s something to be said about Mama Mia and perhaps it is more about the manager than about the 4+ ratings. For one, the manager on this Sunday evening (November 12) was very consumed with the football game playing on the big screens. I assumed he felt guilty as he was folding dinner napkins while watching the football game. On the other hand, he didn’t appear to follow up with the kitchen after my waitress relayed my concerns. He certainly lacked what I expected from a manager and that is to say doing his due diligence. I think his defensive remark about the pit says it all. I am not a critic or food snob and I don’t particularly care to go into someone’s neighborhood and bash a local favorite eatery. But the prawn appetizer and salmon salad entree are not worth the $38.00 that I shelled out. Manager’s attitude made an unsatisfying experience only worse by impressing upon me his disregard for what comes out of the kitchen compared to his greater regard for what he watched on the tube
Had the Capplini Fresca. The dish would have been great because of the flavors and spices, but was so salty I couldn't eat it.
We went for lunch on Sunday afternoon. Service was very slow. The food wasn’t all that special and really lacked in presentation too. I could have just cooked at home. I had the linguini aglio. The setting is really nice and I love the outdoor seating- I just wish the food were better. I don’t think we will be back.
Last time there. Mediocre at best. Dinners were not served at the same time had to wait up to 10 minutes for the last one to be served. The food is nothing exceptional pretty much the same quality that you could get at any pizza parlor. Dessert was served creme brulee did not have it topping of the burly. Very disappointed Morgan Hill has so many good restaurants to choose from this will go to the bottom of the list.
We are regulars at Mama Mia, or a lest we were. The waiter was great, he was attentive, he was personable. We ordered a nicer bottle of wine ($49.95) off the menu, they were out. We were offered 2 alternatives being told they were the same price, chose the 2004 Markham Merlot ($49.95) over the 2010 Stags Leap Cabernet . When the Markham came it was clearly bad so we returned it and chose the Stags Leap, it tasted great.. Salad was good, food was good, conversation was good, nice night sitting outside. When the bill came I saw the price of the Stags Leap was at $49.95 which was expected, our food was all correct but there was an additional charge of $30. I figured they made a simple mistake and added a corkage fee and asked to have it reversed. Major discussions took place as I was informed that the price of the wine was actually $79.95, hence the $30 add. Well, the General manager came out and explained to us that they were not going to absorb the $30, we were taking home at $79 bottle (we only consumed half the bottle) and were accountable for it. I told her to keep the half bottle and refund the $30. We were amazed at the lack of customer obsession, we were amazed at the argumentative attitude, must have been a power trip for the new GM. The few times in the past we've ever had a bad bottle the wine was completely compensated or an upgrade was provided with the difference being taken by the restaurant all due to the inconvenience. Sorry to say but the new management has lots to learn, immature and lacks any understanding of the customer experience. We'll be dining elsewhere from now on.
I rarely post reviews, but today was enough. This is my second time eating at Mamma Mia's this year. We tend to go here because my MIL enjoys the food and because their seating can accommodate larger parties. Both times we made a reservation in advance for our party of 14. I understand that serving large parties can be difficult so I'm patient to a point. Our first visit this year was on a Saturday night and our dinner took 3 HOURS. Tonight, which I understand is Mother's Day, 2.5 HOURS! When you have 7 children in your party under the age of 8, that can be very trying. The final straw tonight is I'm sitting at my kitchen table eating my food because after 2.5 hours of waiting, I finally said enough and got it to go. Our food all came out at different times over the course of an hour, by the end three meals still had not come out including a kids pasta with sauce. I'm sorry, but how hard is it to cook some pasta and throw some sauce on it that is made in advance?? The kitchen in the restaurant needs to get it together! We will be looking for a new restaurant to have our family meals!
I don’t know what’s going on but this place is on a bad downhill slide. The restaurant literally smells terrible. The bathrooms are absolutely horrific and you can smell them from the hostess area. The service is unbearably slow. The food is disappointing to say the least. I don’t know what’s happened here. They used to be pretty decent, but something needs to be fixed and fixed fast.
I normally don’t leave reviews like this. I’m a big believer in giving places grace, but this experience really left a sour taste in my mouth. My husband, daughter and I had dinner here last Thursday night, and up until the very end, everything was wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious (no complaints there!), and the waitstaff we interacted with were kind, attentive, and professional. It honestly felt like such a lovely little night out. Unfortunately, as we were leaving the restaurant, we witnessed something that completely changed the tone of the evening. Right outside the entrance, a woman who appeared to be the manager was involved in a very loud altercation with two customers. I am not one to be nosy, nor do I know the full context of what happened, but it was impossible not to hear, as she was yelling offensive profanity in front of the restaurant. It made both my daughter and me extremely uncomfortable. Regardless of the circumstances, it felt very inappropriate and unprofessional for that kind of confrontation especially involving management to take place so publicly. There are ways to handle difficult situations, and this just wasn’t it. It’s such a shame because the food was great and the rest of the staff were lovely. But if this is how management treats customers, even during conflict, it really makes me question whether we’ll be returning.
Worst experience ever! I’ve been coming here ever since it first opened and I have to say from service, food, and our waitress this was just horrible! Our waitress was only worried about the large tables. Who were there a total of an 1 hour and 37 minutes we ordered two simple dishes. That’s how long it took her from start to finish. One got highly screwed up due to a severe shellfish allergy. You have to take that seriously she did not she didn’t pay attention I had to call her out she did not seem to care. So the manager had to personally take my plate and remake it. If someone tells you they have a major shellfish allergy in the food industry you know to take that seriously! Cross contamination happens more than people realize but if you don’t have the allergy you don’t even think twice about it because you don’t have to worry about it. Then came the the birthday surprise I told them from the beginning and I let two waitresses know. So at the end someone who wasn’t our waiter him got my credit card did not give me a receipt and said I’ll take care of that now! I said what about the receipt don’t I get to see how much it is first? So then out of nowhere where our waitress comes and brings me my credit card and receipt. And she said well do you guys have a nice night I said wait a minute what about the birthday surprise and she said oh I didn’t know anything about it! I said I told you and I said now the person who I’m with knows that I was going to surprise him with the birthday something now knows. She said oh!! I said no big deal I said I’ll take that just to go. Then on the check I was overcharged. When you order a meal and your waitress says oh for your side would you like soup or salad that implies that it comes with your damn meal. So my check was all screwed up!! I said are you going to fix this and she said no and then she walked away! This place has taken a serious cliff dive starting with our waitress. She’s not even new and she didn’t take her job seriously. Not to mention being there an hour and 37 minutes and asking for simple things multiple times silverware water refills on our tea. I would give service zero stars but it doesn’t allow you to. Not coming back here, not worth it!!!
