Opinions de Taqueria Los Charros Mountain View
First time here for banda and reggaeton, very fun atmosphere like a big city. The drinks are reasonably priced and the cover charge is only thirty dollars, making this a great place to visit. While the atmosphere is generally friendly, there are some more boisterous patrons there. If you're in the area and looking for a good time, I'd definitely recommend checking it out. Just be mindful of the crowd and be respectful of others.
If you like dancing to Latin music then you’ll enjoy this place. There’s a second floor with a smaller dance floor and bar. The bottom floor is where the live banda will play. It’s crazy loud but that’s what the people love 🤷🏻♀️ they have a coat check and bathrooms are clean. I saw reviews talking about dirty floors and bathrooms. At 11pm everything was still clean but at 11pm is when the crowds start flooding in. Dirty floors wouldn’t be a shocker on a busy Saturday night full of drunk people. Workers are friendly but if you’re drunk and rude I’m sure they won’t deal with it. Drink prices are the same as any other bar/club. Overall I would go back Sundays there’s a discount on the cover charge before 10:30pm if you follow them on social media but keep in mind the “party” won’t start till a bit after 11pm
This place is great! It’s always packed tho.. you can choose to go upstairs to enjoy some bachata, salsa, cumbias, anything Dj. Down stairs there is reggaetón, live Banda/grupo, and a very fun environment. Drinks are about 15 bucks. Just 20 dollars to get in! Again the lines get fricken long. Over all a really good night club.
I went during the reggaetonlandia event and the vibes were pretty good. The 5 stars go mostly to the staff who found my ID and kept it in the lost and found until I was able to get it back. They were pretty responsive to their DMs!!
I think the entrance was $25 We got there a little early around 9p m, I like that they have options to listen to the live banda, upstairs had different variety, like salsa, cumbia, reggaeton, we had a good time.
Amazing food, great service and smiles from the staff, not to mention the best mojito I've ever had!! A small plate of the nachos was anything but small. It had a generous amount of meat the right amount of spice and jalapenos. Delicious! Being able to enjoy good music and food in a nice outdoor setting is a big welcome during such unusual times. All necessary precautions are being taken and you can tell that their guests having a great time is their top priority. Such a breath of fresh air and greatly appreciated! It allowed me to feel like things were back to normal and was very comfortable enjoying my meal here! The restrooms are nice, modern and well maintained. I can't wait for Monte Carlo to open up fully to be able to enjoy it in its entirety. Thank you for the warm welcome and incredible service & food. This is, without a doubt, not my last visit to Monte Carlo!!
It was nice and packed great music! Bartender in the front with red dress seemed to be bias he’s picking her favorites to serve… wish it was better service like the bartender in the main room with the white dress she was very nice and got are drinks right away!
This place lowkey kept me alive in 2024 when I had no energy to cook. I've ordered takeout, delivery, dined in, brought friends, you name it. It's good, hearty Mexican food. Some of the highlights for me are: all burritos (I've tried all of them lol), but especially the breakfast burritos , ceviche, horchata, coffee (I'm not even a coffee drinker, but they have great coffee), churros, and flan. Really anything Mexican was really well done. I felt a little meh about the American breakfasts, but it's a Mexican restaurant. Overall, 10/10, thank you Taqueria for keeping me alive!
Recommending for their fantastic (and huge size) breakfast burritos. Both the meat version and veggie version are equally delicious. We have probably gotten 50+ breakfast burritos to go from this place over the last few years.
The quesabirria was delicious, as were the shrimp and fish tacos. The service was very good. The atmosphere is very casual and the prices are moderate. Great value for the money. The restaurant should offer additional types of sauces and salsas.
A delicious variety of Mexican classics. We had a selection of tacos (lengua, al pastor, and quesabirria) and the mixed fajita plate. All the meat was cooked perfectly. The chips and salsa are also good and come with a (tasty though mild) pureed salsa and a pico de gallo. Note: no alcohol sales.
What an amazing little spot. The atmosphere is perfect. It’s set in a really nice downtown area with lots of places to walk to. The service was excellent. The gentleman with the mustache was on top of it. Food was ready almost instantly and the flavor was on point! If you’re looking for a good quality Mexican restaurant I highly recommend it!
First time there the experience was amazing, but is was so crowd and the ambient was awesome , nice place to forget your bad days
Sometimes overcrowded, but it makes up on great music, good mexican bandas, and plenty of security.
Happy we stumbled across this place. The tables and chairs are painted and carved which was cool. You have the option to order to stay or to go. Rather quick turnaround. We keep coming back for the breakfast burritos. Definitely worth a shot. Unsure if it’s authentic Mexican as I am just a white girl.
Nice cozy shack. Experience is traditional. Wide assortment of drinks. Unfortunately we had coffee from another establishment since the hours were adjusted. I don't blame them, the foot traffic picks up later. The chilaquilles were okay. Ranks low on my list. My friends omlette had craft slices. I really trying to leave a positive review ..the food was very edible just not memorable.
Bottom line -- I rate 3+ stars and mildly recommended this resturant. Many nights after work I go to a taqueria in the city where I make my last delivery. I've been to so many I feel like a taco eating expert hahaha. This was my 2nd time at LA Espuela in Mountain View, CA around 9pm. The first time the place was packed with dinners. This time I was the only patron. There was an hour before close, I was the only order/customer but they got my simple order of 2 grilled chicken tacos and 1 steak taco wrong. Initially brought me 1 chix and 1 steak taco. I reminded them I had paid for an additional chix taco and they soon delivered a 2nd steak taco (not what I had ordered but I didn't say anything). They were very polite and I felt welcome but have to ding their service rating. Both the chix and steak tacos had plenty of meat and we're seasoned well. The chix taco was really good...almost slammin' (but not quite). The steak tacos had a gamey wild meat kind of taste. Won't recommend or order it again. I still have sticker shock of the price of tacos -- these 3 tacos plus 2 cans of Dr. Pepper cost $21.58. Wasn't that long ago when this would have been less than $15.
Needs Margaritas and music. Also more service instead of us going up to the cash register. That would be nice since we're coming there to relax and eat. EXCELLENT Jarritos Tamarindo Agua Fresca GOOD Chips and Salsa. The fresh salsa has great flavor. Cups are too hard and flat tasting. Fish Taco
Solid Mexican food. They also have American breakfast fare like pancakes etc. The specialty dishes have a fuller portion, we had the enchiladas chicken and camerones rancheros, both were good. The chicken burrito is quite large sized. They offer chips and two types of salsa when you sit down - $1.99 with unlimited refills. They are good. The restaurant is a bit cramped, not unreasonably so.
Very close to main Castro street and so easily accessible. Fun place with friendly and efficient staff. Indoor and outdoor seating available. We tried their fish & prawn tacos, super carne asada burrito and plain tamales. Good food overall but very small portions. Menu had great breakfast and lunch options. Very good option for Mountain View but not the best Mexican I've had.
4/5 vibes, 2/5 everything else. $20 cash only cover at the door (men and women). There is an ATM outside. Water is $4 and will be charged even at the bar. Shots about $11 each. Go after 10:30PM for best attendance. Lines will get long but move quickly starting at 10PM (Friday night). Note there is a bar both upstairs (much emptier) and two downstairs (one at entrance, would NOT recommend because of the line, and one near the dance floor). For beer, just go to the second floor dance floor ($8).
Food was not ok, drink was good. Ambiance was ok. It's a Mexican pub so the songs were playing were Mexican but soothing
Monte Carlo "Night" Club? More like light club, Everyone too shy to dance. Kill the lights Service ok Drinks great.
It's a nice club for people who like reggaeton, cumbia, merengue, Banda. Basically latin music. The only complaint was I made a VIP reservation and I chose the tables I wanted and on the day I went they said there was a bigger party so they gave them the tables I had reserved. I had more than 10 people attending.
So sad Los Charros is gone. Fiesta Del Mal Too as well. New owners for the past 5 or so years and place is just OK now. Burritos not big anymore and have to pay for chips. Hard pass. Go to Super Taqueria instead.
How the food tastes depending on the dishes and the mood of the cooks. The chip and salsa is $1.75 and is free refills, but we never feel the need to even call for any free baskets. The soup and tacos are good, but the ham and cheese omelette are really bad. The restaurant is decorated in Mexican style. Very pretty and colorful, reminds me of the animated movie, Coco.
We ordered lunch through DoorDash for the entire office. All boxes were mislabeled, e.g., a fajita meal was marked as enchiladas. No box had the person’s name, so it was chaos just to find the food. I ordered flan napolitano (more expensive) and got flan casero (cheaper). Food was as average flavor. Not ordering from here again
Was excited to practice my new salsa moves. Entry was a bit high. Drinks were strong, niceee. The non-dance floor upstairs was sticky! Experience was good until the DJ started playing Daddy Yankee and Pitbull; that's when ear damage came into play. My partner didn't notice any pain but my ears started hurting. We were tired and went downstairs to leave and we both heard this deafening ringing in our ears!!!!! I didn't pay $40 bucks for two people to get ear damage! The DJ and sound techs don't know how to operate there gear properly. I can't imagine how many other people left last Saturday night with screwed up ears. Yes ear plugs would have been great... but I have never ever gone to a club that made my ears ring until around 7PM the next night. I went to the tea place across the street and the girl at the counter had the hardest time with our order because we couldn't hear anything. I don't plan to ever go back to that place. I would like to sue them for inflicting bodily harm but I don't see how I can prove this happened unless I came in with a decibel meter.. maybe I'll do that just to get this place shut down. Thanks for the tinnitus!
they have a fake bat that screams every 2 seconds outside their shop. very much a public disturbance
The security guard is unprofessional. The security guards, are very rude and disrespectful. The security guard is not allowed to beat up the customer or punch the customer. this is what the security have done to the customers in Monte Carlo nightclub. The security guards should not work there if they do not know how to appropriately do their job the right professional way. Some of the servers where even a bit rude to the customers. The servers need to learn how to treat the customers or they will loose customers. This is a place that I would never come back to ever again. Somebody needs to professionally train the security guard on how to do their job better. This place needs better customer service and better security guards.
Place is an absolute dump and there was bugs in the bathroom along with everyone doing illegal substances in there. The bartenders will take your money for a shot and they will pour water in their glass. The security guards are unprofessional and have no idea what they are doing. This is not a safe place. Do not go to this club! Your night will be ruined!
We had an event. It was ok, but come on why would you charge 20 glasses and we only saw one that broke that should be part of your pricing. Incidents happen and the party continued after the event. I know for a fact that they spent over 5000$ that night and you are petty as to charge 90$ 18 glasses that supposedly they broke. Very disappointed.
As someone said in the comments SCAMMERS! For bottle service, they asked for a deposit and literally placed a table for us halfway in the dance floor. Someone thought it was a trash table and put their dirty corona bottle. It was terrible and when we asked for our deposit back they refused. We noticed a bigger table available and we were ready to buy it, and purchase many bottles. The bottle girls said they were waiting for someone who had paid full price for it and was on their way but to wait in case they did not show up. They said to wait until 11, then 11:30, then 12. Until finally we realized what they were doing and were definitely playing favorites. The owner said the table was for an employee. They should’ve said that from the getgo!! Instead of having us wait there like idiots. We left and they kept the $100 deposit. Obvs this is not the first time they do it if you look at the comments, they really are discriminatory. Literally avoid this place!!!! Should be investigated by the bbb. Never again.
I don’t recommend this place, never found a table, the place is full and you can not dance.. PLEACE PEOPLE GO TO MIAMI in San Jose.
I ordered a veggie omelette that was burnt. Only 2 eggs were used and the avocado was rotten. I asked for a replacement but it was the same…maybe worst. More bell pepper and onion than one could eat. Tables were sticky and we should have ate somewhere else. Next time I walk in a feel a bad vibe, I’ll listen! Not a breakfast spot at all. The potato’s were not fully formed, looked like they fried mash potatoes. Service was nothing spectacular and you have to pay for chips and salsa here as a dine in paying customer.
