My best friend and I had a wonderful dinner at Fire and Smoke. She had the lamb chops and said they were delicious. My filet was and cooked to perfection. Our server was wonderful and very attentive. Only complaint was the cake it was a bit to dry for us but other than that it we had a great time.
We ate here on a recommendation for a nice place with good steak for our daughter’s birthday. It was outstanding - our daughter said it was the best filet she has ever had. I enjoyed the Long Island Strip steak - the charred flavor is unique and so tasty. We also liked our appetizers which were also delicious. We were tempted to return even though we were only in Myrtle Beach for 3 nights, it was that good. Would definitely return.
I have dined here a few times with my friend had a great time sitting at the bar and meeting new friends. Food presentation is gorgeous and it tastes just as good. Carrot curry soup had a great flavor profile and I am still thinking about it. The pork belly just melts in your mouth. I got to full for the chicken but had to try some and it has a great flavor to it.
Food is incredible and consistent as this was my 7th or 8th time dining there over the past 3 years - always a must go to when I am in Myrtle Beach. Food portions are appropriate for the course and beautifully presented. Enjoy sitting at the bar as the locals and Alex (bartender) are great to talk to. Many specialty cocktails offered - never have had a bad one as I like to try different cocktails each visit. They care about their customers as the owners/chef will often visit to make sure everything is okay and that you are happy. Going back again next week before leaving town.
What a great dinner. All of the food was prepared perfectly. I started with the scallop appetizer. Perfectly cleaned and cooked. Best scallops I've had in years. The beet carpaccio was fantastic and the smoked sea salt to finish it was an excellent addition to the dish. I had the elk chops for my entree. I am now an elk chop lover. The chops were tender and cooked to my request at medium rare. I highly recommend eating here. It is definitely worth the price.
Had a great anniversary dinner here. We were visiting the area and found the place on a google map search. Here's the deal - this may not have the newest and modern ambiance... But it has a small charm and your probably not going to get a better dish somewhere else. Food was stellar, especially the scallops. The smoked old fashioned was perfect. Will definitely look this place up again if we visit Myrtle Beach again in the future.
More stars needed, this restaurant is a must for locals and travelers alike, you won't be disappointed. Ryan H. was our server very knowledgeable and attentive, truly a great asset. Ordered the filet mignon and the elk chops and for dessert. Had the coconut cake with coconut ice cream and creme brulee. Really enjoyed a great experience and meal. The chef is fabulous, sure works culinary magic. If you don't check this place out, it's your loss.
What a hidden gem! 💎 A place you must try in Myrtle Beach. I've been to a lot of places on The Grand Strand and this place tops them all. Family owned and operated, staff is friendly and knowledgeable, food was prepared fresh and smoked to perfection, cocktails and wine recommendations paired nicely with each course, and we were lucky enough to come in on a Thursday night and enjoy live music. 🎶 Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time to reserve your table! Keep up the great work. 🙌
Came here to celebrate my boyfriend’s 35th birthday! The food was incredibly delicious and the atmosphere was so calming. You feel like you’re at home when you eat here. Leslie was so welcoming and sweet.
If I could give this place 6 stars, I would! Every single bite and sip was on point! We went with a large group so I tried quite a few things. The scallops 🤤🤤🤤 amazing! You can’t go wrong with what you order. Solid wine menu as well, however they were out of a couple bottles we wanted.
Being from NJ/ close to NYC, and the best restaurants, we’ve had “ok” food in N.Myrtle Beach - until here. Food was excellent- cooked and seasoned to perfection. Service was great. Price was fair for what you get. Not inexpensive but the quality was worth it.
If you don't research the food places in this area, you are bunch to miss this gem. We called all over town trying to find an upscale eatery to celebrate our honeymoon. As soon as the host answered the phone we knew this was the place. Amazing food! I had the Elk (house special) and the Mrs has Lobster escargot. For drinks I had the smokey glass bourbon. Then...the dessert...I mean WOW. 12 layer caramel delishiousness and a house made Nutella dish. 10/10 absolutely recommended for a upscale experience.
Our first visit was above our expectations. Will, our server, was pleasant, knowledgeable, and engaging in conversation. Made our reservation with a special request, which was honored. This means a lot, but the host didn't offer congratulations or any acknowledgment of our special occasion. That's ok because the food and ambiance were over and above. Everything was almost perfect. The only downer of the eve was a 3% service charge for using a credit card. A high class restaurant should not penalize folks for using a credit card in a cashless society. The "average" person typically doesn't carry that much cash. Smoked Manhattan was very good.
First time here (for our sons 21st birthday) and it was excellent! WOW on the flavors! The server was correct in her preface in that they use wood/smoke flavors. Excellent experience. It was high priced for me… but the food, service & experience was worth it. I’d go back, and will.
The appetizers were fantastic, the wood fired steaks were also great. They need to lighten up the paint & the prices.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary and absolutely enjoyed everything! The service was amazing, everything spotless and clean! Our food was VERY delicious. Tuna tower had so much amazing flavor and incredibly fresh. My husband absolutely loved his burger and upgraded to truffle fries. I also got the smoked Manhattan, which had such a deep flavor. We really loved our experience here. Everything was perfect, looking forward to our next visit.
Top tier...our anniversary spot. No freezer...all fresh and the host is awesome. Waiter on point and very professional. The chef...hello...he does not disappoint.
The location feels a bit like a hole in the wall until you walk in, but this is easily one the best restaurants at the beach. I would recommend this to couples or small groups, as the food is excellent but price and menu wouldn't work well for kids (at least mine). Check it out if you're looking for a great dining experience.
Pacific Halibut with coconut rice - absolutely delicious! Elk chops (medium rare) with bread pudding - the elk was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Bread pudding reminded me of thanksgiving stuffing. Grand Marnier crème brûlée - a very nice twist on the crème brûlée. David was a wonderful server! Top notch service. We’ve been coming to Myrtle Beach for 15 years. I wish we had found Fire & Smoke before. We’ll definitely be back.
Amazing dinner! Great drink selections. I had the fish special and it was delicious. Summer watermelon salad was such a light and refreshing dish. Steak was perfectly cooked and melted like butter. Everything delivered to the table was melt in your mouth good and is easily the best food in MB! Grab a reservation & check it out!
What an amazing place. The atmosphere is on point, the drinks are really good and creative. Service was a 10/10, and the food is the star of the show. This place is worth every single minute and dollar.
Food was absolutely incredible. No other way to put it. The Wagyu was cooked so perfectly. Great steak house with a good atmosphere.
This place has me coming back over and over again, just to try all the new dishes on the ever rotating menu. Bomb bartender and staff, killer chef. Food is always on point here. Great spot for sharing dishes with colleagues or friends.
Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in the grand strand. I’ve gone here several times and have been even more happy with each time I go. It’s got a casual-dining vibe yet the food really delivers. They always have new and changing specials on the menu, yet they also keep their signature dishes present as well. Their wine, beer and cocktail list is awesome as well with bartenders willing to make suggestions. This has become a place I take Visitors to if I want to show them some really amazing food. Their bison meatloaf entree is to die for. Also their goat cheese and pear salad is divine! Just go here you’ll thank me later I promise you won’t regret it!
Don't judge this book 📚 by its cover! The outside is tiny but great atmosphere and service on the inside. Oh and did I mention the food is "Slap 👋 Yo Grandma 👵 Good"!? Just walking in the door the aroma made me instantly hungry. The Chicken 🍗 & Biscuits with Corn 🌽 Creme Brûlée was great. The biscuits were sweet and probably my favorite part. The Corn Creme Brûlée you could barely tell was made from Corn as it was puréed finely. The Duck 🦆 Confit Nachos were delicious too and had a great Salsa that I believe was pineapple 🍍. Fresh Fries 🍟 with AMAZING Truffle Butter Dipping Sauce. Had to ask for seconds of that. Will definitely be back. Very unique menu about a half dozen other entrées i'm dying to try. Also have a great steak menu which ranges from the $40-$80 range. A bit pricey but I'm expecting quality would be great.
I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. The food was PHENOMENAL!!!! I had the elk chops, and my mom had the lamb chops. So.Good. Our waiter, TJ, was super friendly and made us feel very welcomed. Don’t be afraid by the price tag, the food is SO worth it!! Enjoy!!
Our waitress was very nice and polite. She did a great job serving us. The place very loud and noisy until a large group of people left. This is not the restaurants fault. The food was delicious.
A Myrtle Beach hidden gem! What a nice place to go eat with charm and charisma that’s not your tourist Trap this is your place. Between High class and casual tucked away quietly in the corner you would love this place. Our server was a nice local gentleman that gave us great service.
Definitely a gem of a hole in the wall type of place. Tremendous food, great service, and well made cocktails. We were recommended this restaurant by staff from our hotel and I was beyond impressed with their spot-on review of the food. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a memorable and delicious evening.
Walked in and sat at the bar for dinner. Bartender was awesome and the meatloaf is absolutely amazing. 10/10 for sure. Will definitely be back.
Was a little worried when we walked into the restaurant however the bartender Austin knew his stuff it was from drinks t9 what to order for dinner. It was 3 of us. Starters we order the Caesar salad it was a wedge of roman lettace enough to share for 3 people. The dressing was out of the world. Afterwards we ordered 2 elk chops and a ribeye the elk chops taste just like a filet just melts you away. Amazing food and service. The owner Tyler was a gentleman who gave us a tour of the kitchen and the cooking process. Definitely will be back again.
My husband Mike & I went New Year's Eve with 10 other people. We had met Tyler the owner a week earlier & he was telling us about his restaurant, we are new to the area so we decided to give it a try. So happy we did! We all loved our meals, service was amazing & cozy atmosphere! We will definitely be back. Highly recommend! PS Mac & Cheese was the best I've ever had!!!
Last night, I celebrated my anniversary at this restaurant and I must admit the food was fantastic, but incredibly overpriced. Average price is 35.00 for scallops not almost 50.00. The dessert almost 20.00 when the average price is 8-10 dollars. I could have gone to a supermarket and purchased a whole cake. Perhaps, if the restaurant offered an ocean front view there would be reasons for these prices. There was no ambiance in this setting as the restaurant appeared dated. Other than prices being steep, the other disappointment is a charge for bread, where most restaurant offered it free as a courtesy to your meal. I must add why a 3 percent service fee for using a credit card. It seems punitive as a business owner, I do not penalize my consumers 3 percent for the use of a credit card. Overall, great food and service.
What a WONDERFUL place! Staff are VERY good at managing expectations, and the Front of the House manager makes sure to support all of her staff in ensuring a great dining experience. Now the food...freaking awesome! The charred Cesar was smokey, with just the right amount of anchovy to give it flavor without willing out the rest of the pallet. NC-caught crabcake was sweet and moist (and the Low Country succotash was a good flavor to offer the cake. I had a perfectly done 45 day dry aged KC Strip while my wife had the Elk chops. And if you like white chocolate macadamia nut cookies, get the cookie skillet desert. It's made to order so it takes a little longer but it is SO worth the wait. Enough butter to choke Paula Deen! This will CERTAINLY become a regular spot to dine for future trips. Reservations strongly suggested...
Our family of four had dinner here on a Monday night. The service was excellent. We ordered fresh baked focaccia as a starter. Extremely small portion, but it was only $3. We could have had two for the four of us. Starter salads were delicious. Warm ceasar was easily the best Caesar salad we have tasted. Pear salad with goat cheese also very nice. For entrees we had bison and boar meatloaf -amazing; scallops with squid ink linguini was exceptional, chicken Diane was really special and the truffle burger was the best burger my son has ever eaten. For dessert we shared creme brulee and chocolate chip skillet with ice cream. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the espresso martini wasnt very well done. We would visit again and highly recommend it. So delicious!!
Food was best I've had while visiting Myrtle Beach BUT this chef doesn't have much competition because the bar is pretty low honestly. I 100% recommend this spot & will return. The steak was very flavorful, price wasn't too crazy and service was great. I also enjoyed the German Chocolate Martinis!!
🌟✨✨ Fire & Smoke Restaurant Reviewed by the Son of a Chef✨✨🌟 Yesterday, my wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Fire & Smoke, and I must say, it was an overall delightful experience! Our waitress was absolutely top-notch, providing 5-star service throughout the evening. 👩🍳💯 To start, I had the pleasure of trying their signature Smoked Old Fashioned, and let me tell you, it was one of the best I've ever had! 🥃🔥 The smoky notes elevated the classic cocktail, leaving a lasting impression. The Caesar salad was a revelation! 🥗🔥 Grilling the romaine lettuce gave it a unique, hot twist that I had never experienced before. Topped with shaved Parmesan and their house-made dressing, it took the salad to a whole new level of deliciousness. Moving on to the main course, I opted for the ribeye. The flavor and crust were exceptional, truly one of the best ribeyes I've ever tasted. The slightly sweet reduction sauce accompanying the steak was a knockout! However, there was a small hiccup—the steak was cooked to a well-done stage, lacking the desired pink center or expected juiciness. 😔💔 Given the price point, I expected a steak with a better texture and juiciness. I believe requesting a rare steak in the future might be the way to go. It seems that the thinness of the steak and the amount of charring make it difficult to achieve a perfect medium-rare. The mac and cheese, though decent, fell a bit short of my expectations. 🧀🤔 While the cheese itself was of high quality, I felt that an à la carte mac and cheese should have something special to set it apart. Perhaps the addition of bacon or crab would have added that extra flair. LongHorn Steakhouse, for instance, offers more flavorful options. At a restaurant of Fire & Smoke's caliber and price range, I anticipated a dish that would leave me astounded, thinking it was worth the extra $100 spent. Unfortunately, it didn't quite reach that level. 😕💰 Now, let's talk about my wife's meal. She ordered the meatloaf, and hands down, it has to be the best meatloaf on earth! 🥩😍 Each bite was packed with mouthwatering flavors and made for a truly memorable dining experience. In summary, Fire & Smoke provided a wonderful ambiance and exceptional service, with some standout dishes and minor disappointments. I would definitely recommend trying their unique cocktails, savoring the grilled Caesar salad, and exploring other enticing menu options. 🍹🥗🍽️ While there were a few misses in terms of my steak and the mac and cheese, the overall experience was enjoyable, and we left with satisfied taste buds and cherished memories. 💫✨
Food was great, and so was the service, but the place itself does not look or feel like an upscale restaurant. It felt more like an old dingy Chinese restaurant. Aside from that I recommend this spot The steak was very flavorful, we enjoyed the Creme Brulee.
The food was excellent — everything from the appetizers to the steaks was flavorful, well-prepared, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The service was decent: polite and efficient, though not particularly standout. My only real critique is the decor and atmosphere. For the price point, I expected a more upscale and polished environment. The interior feels a bit dated and lacks the refined ambiance that typically matches this level of cuisine and cost. Overall, I would absolutely return for the food alone, but I hope they consider updating the space to match the caliber of the menu
Tonight was such a disappointment. My grouper was excellent but the sides were just okay at best. My husband ordered the stroganoff which he has had before - they made it wrong! It was very spicy. Our server didn't come back to check on us until we were almost done. And my husband didn't really want to send it back and wait for a new one because he was hungry. Let's be clear- my husband enjoys spicy Thai and Indian food - but this was Stroganoff and he said I would not have been able to eat it. The server checked and confirmed that was not supposed to be spicy - he apologized but no manager ever came out. We opted to just have water tonight and its served in smaller glasses - our server never refilled my water except for the one time I asked when he brought out the first course. I should probably add that it was not very busy - our server seemed to only have one other table. To top it off as we were leaving - I heard another server reading off a list of daily items including a scallop dish that sounded great! Our server never told us any of that! I'm not sure if there has been a change of ownership or what but this is not the place we have loved. It has been one of our favorites for like 8 years. We have a place in MB so we are in town several times a year. Up until tonight, I probably would have given 4 to 5 stars. They have always had a limited menu that stays pretty constant but the execution has always been spot on. Tonight was really 2 stars but I added one because of our past experiences.
The food was good but way overpriced for value returned. Placing “market price” on a ribeye steak imo is just a way to charge what you want. $110 for a bone in ribeye that was average at best is ridiculous. The interior was rundown and dated. It needs a massive update and based on the prices they can afford it. Paint was coming off the walls, and the ambiance was weird honestly. It was a glorified small bar that served steaks and chops. Service staff was just odd to put it lightly. Just off put delivery of information, with the awkward feeling. Also the waitress didn’t inform us that soft drinks were per item when ordering, at the tune of $2/can. Bill was $360 after tip for three people, having no alcoholic drinks, no salad, and only two sides ordered. Also a random convenience fee of 3% added before they even knew we were paying by card. I was so bothered by the entire experience, that I didn’t even bother asking. 2/10, would not visit again.
They were disorganized from the second we walked in. They had empty tables that they couldn't get cleaned up and reset. There were two couples in front of us, 630 reservations and we didn't sit till after 7:00. My $69.00 ribeye seemed like one you could bye at Walmart and my girlfriend could even eat her filet mignon... They put some bizarre sauce on it and it tasted terrible.
Second time there. 6:15 PM Reservation. Took two couples with us who had never been there. Our first visit was over a year ago and was awesome. Our second time with first time guests not so much. I have never been to an "upscale" dining establishment where the server struggled with reviewing (reading) the evenings specials, have no chilled glasses in which to serve beer, charge for bread ($4 gets enough for two people) and offer no soup. In addition the only thing hotter than the food was the room. By the end of the meal we were ALL sweating. Based on the prices they are considered an upscale dining establishment. While the food was excellent the overall dining experience was extremely disappointing. Our guests, while acknowledging their food and drink selections were very good, said based on pricing, service and overall experience they would not return. Many different places truly worthy of being considered upscale dining become viable when spending $300 plus for dinner for two people with 3 domestic beers and 2 House drinks.
This was our first time at this restaurant. I chose it for my birthday dinner. I reserved the table 2 weeks prior to our going. We were sat all the way in the back by the kitchen and bathrooms (strike 1) no the restaurant wasn’t full and other tables WERE available. It took about 15-20 mins for our server to come greet us (strike 2). No lamb chops were available (strike 3) so we orders 2 medium (temperature) plates of the elk chops. The server asked if we were sharing a plate we both said NO. Only 1 plate was bought out to the table. We both looked at each other and asked where the other plate was. He said oh I assumed you were going to share a plate. We asked for it to be packed and we paid the check and left. We had more than enough to pay that check plus the rest of the restaurants. But to assume we couldn’t was a slap in the face. Then he packed the meal without the glaze on the chops. That was the highlight of the meal. And for strikes 4-10 they gave us burned food! They will never see another penny of my money. And all of that I still left the server a $25 tip! Needless to say my birthday meal was not how I would’ve wanted it to go.
We were a party of 4 with no one else in the restaurant, and Took 45 min to get our food. Steak was looking so raw we asked waiter (who was very nice) to take it back and correct it. Between me and my wife, 2 plates , 2 drinks and Tip… our meal was $212!!!! The steak when corrected was ok. The ambiance and visuals inside is very boring and plain, and super humid inside. Experience is no where near that $ amount at all. Highly disappointed
Don't waste any money here. Look at all the bad reviews. And ugly management replies, they even lie in a reply- lie- we tipped 25%!!! Picture provided. What a nasty management Kelly your manager is. You guys are liars on top of being a poorly managed restaurant. Kelly the manager who has some serious issues including accusations. The appetizers were ok - and the steaks are literally just burnt and charred with no flavor, but just burnt /charred. nasty. And yes I've experienced wonderful aged steaks at some of the best in the US. This was a $120 ribeye, aged and charred to the point of no flavor. We told them it was not as expected or ordered and they basically didn't care at all that it was not good. Bad experience. Bad food..Bad management. KELLY especially, she should be fired, and who didn't even offer any resolution. Go to any other places , try Sea Blue in North Myrtle Beach. They told me on their review don't come back to their restaurant. I won't. Screw this place, Kelly and you gonna have to pay me to bribe me to come back. This was Sorry service, sorry reply, seemed prejudice, and was 120,% a lying place!
original review in 2023: I can't speak more highly of this place. Everything we had was so delicious - the bread (pillow soft inside and crunchy outside) and oil (perfectly seasoned w oregano), the roasted red pepper & lump crab soup (a special that should be added to the menu), filet (perfectly crusted w minimal seasoning, which would've overshadowed the melty tender inside, cooked perfectly to mid rare), the roasted tomato on the side (w panko crust), the twice baked side (a whole personal crock, super cheesy, very rich, incredible), and even the house red (idk how to describe wine, but it tasted really good). I wish I could eat here all the time. The only thing stopping me is the price. This is a special occasion place, but I recommend you start looking for occasions to make special. updated review in 2025: We were having a goodbye dinner w a good friend before we moved away. Since we had a gift certificate (see story below), we made reservations here. Res was a 3 top at 2030. Our friend arrived at like 2015, but he waited outside for us. We all walked in at 2037, and the staff informed us that we were too late to dine there. They said they waited "several minutes" for us before shutting everything down. Apparently, 7 minutes constitutes "several" in their eyes, even though 15 minutes is standard across the board before canceling someone's reservation. No apologies or anything were offered...just a self-righteous shrug. They even audibly locked the entrance before we'd even made it the 12 feet to our parked car. We went around the corner to Lombardo's and had an extremely lovely meal there, for a little less than F&S would've cost. Guess they didn't want the $400 tab w proportionate tip. Re: the gift certificate - after our first time there (spent about $400+ that time), my husband realized (maybe 40 minutes after we'd exited) that he'd left his *very expensive* and prized custom engraved, gold S.T. Dupont cigar torch at the table. We called immediately and were relieved to learn that they had found it and were going to hold it at the host stand (locked up) for us to pickup within the next couple days. However, when I arrived after work 1-2 days later to pick it up, it was nowhere to be found. In fact, they never "found" it, and I had to call 4 or 5 times to get them to finally admit that fact. They even insinuated that they hadn't found it to begin with, despite saying those exact words on speakerphone to my husband in front of me and my FIL, less than an hour after we left the restaurant. So, seemingly, one of their staff stole it...a designer lighter with someone else's name engraved into it. They didn't offer any sort of remedy at all...nothing. We had to insist on *something* to stand as restitution for what was very obviously a lack of integrity on their part and were eventually granted a $25 gift certificate, which barely buys you a small bowl of mashed potatoes and a side salad at this place, in exchange for their staff stealing/losing a $300 engraved (rare) cigar torch they'd confirmed they had located and assured us would be safely secured. If we hadn't had that stupid gift certificate worth nearly nothing at a place like this, we'd never have planned on returning for the goodbye dinner in the first place. But after the lighter fiasco and then closing up shop 6 minutes after our reservation time, we would never patronize this place again and, after recommending them to easily a couple dozen people, will stop recommending *for* and strongly recommend *against* this business. Go to Sea Blue. The steaks were better there, anyway.
Stay away 6 total people in the restaurant and it still took 45 minutes to get our food and it was wrong when it came out. (There were only 4 people in our group). The server was very kind, but that was the only good thing. with this expensive of a price you would expect “fine dining”, and it is the complete opposite of that. Save your money and go somewhere else.
I wanted to like this place but unfortunately I do not have a good review. We ate here for my wife’s birthday last week and there were 3 in our party. I ordered the $60 filet, medium rare. It came out deep dark red and very cold in the middle. I told the waiter and he took it back however when when he brought it back, it wasn’t any more done. He took it back twice and it wasn’t any still rare and not edible for me. I just sucked it up and paid for it without eating it. Not only was it very rare, it also was cooked with way too many spices. I was very disappointed, was charged the full price and never once got an apology from the gruff waiter. Terrible!!!
We have been longtime customers, but this visit confirmed a consistent decline in service quality. My steak was ordered rare and arrived medium. While this wasn’t a big deal to me initially, the way the situation was handled was the issue. When I politely brought it to his attention, the bartender scoffed, pulled my plate away and said nothing again when he returned 15 mins later with a perfectly cooked steak. He was visibly upset with me making me very uncomfortable. There was no acknowledgment or effort to address it professionally, and the interaction was dismissive. I asked him if I offended him in any way and he got very defensive stating he did not cook my steak and I didn’t cut it far enough in the middle. I worked in service industry for many years as a young adult and know when to pick my battles. I know the difference between rare and medium is a big one. I’ve sent food back only a handful of times in my entire life as I typically just deal with it. The steak was so overcooked I would not have eaten it and wasted $60. A friend of mine spoke a similar instance of being treated rudely by the management. I didn’t even ask to speak to a manager regarding my instance, as I know this level of disservice starts from the top. Taken together with several similar experiences over time, this visit made it clear that the level of service we once valued is no longer present.
