Opinions de Taco Cabana New Braunfels
Tried the steak taco and the brisket taco. Very good! Clean restaurant with friendly prompt service. Went back to try the tortilla soup that's back on the menu again with a few of those GREAT margaritas. Also brought back the salsa bar. Lookin' forward to margarita Monday. I will be back.
Haven't been to TC in a while, and made a couple of changes to my order in the Drive-thru. He was very patient and accommodating.
This was my first time at a Taco Cabana and I was extremely impressed. Stopped for breakfast and the drive thru line was super long, but moving at a decent pace. Ordered a bean and cheese taco and bacon, egg and cheese taco and they were the best breakfast tacos I've ever had! It was a little difficult to place my order and hear the speaker due to the traffic from the expressway. The lady at the drive thru window was delightful and told me I looked very pretty that day, which really made my day. I was very impressed with my first visit to TC!
Patty and her team this morning were outstanding as always. Despite the morning rush and overwhelming orders for local school events, they were polite, and professional. Unfortunately I witnessed a mentally unstable female patron verbally assault and harass Patty and her team, as they worked diligently to fulfill orders. I hope that TC takes legal action and bans that patron from the property, as she’s a danger to the staff and other customers. Nevertheless, my large order was fulfilled in a timely manner and I’m very satisfied with the quality of the food. See you soon!
The margaritas to go were a little weak but tasted great! The homemade tortillas are what made me rate this place so high. We had some carne guisada tacos and a shredded chicken pizza that were very good.
I was very impressed. Stopped by to pick up breakfast tacos. They were excellent. The young lady who fixed them knew what she was doing. Very friendly employees, this TC is a must do!
Way better than that other Taco place and affordable. The food was really filling and not expensive. First time going and the breakfast burrito will fill you up for the day.
I really like the food and good value
I made a mobile order. Food was hot and order was correct. But next time a couple of napkins in the bag would be appreciated.
Thanks for making my son’s holiday party’s awesome! Thank you Dennis for your fast service
I visit this taco cabana almost every morning for breakfast. My wife and I get lunch or dinner sometimes. I've eaten at a few in san antonio, but this one is always very consistent, Food and service wise. Olivia and Daniel at the drive through window, always take care of me and make sure I have everything I need before I go. Thank you guys!
Taco cabana is a nostalgia stop for me every time I’m in Texas. I stopped at this location on my way to San Antonio, and I just wanted to shout out the service. I always ask for a cheese quesadilla and then ask them to add ground beef because that was my favorite as a kid. Because this isn’t a standard menu item, I’ve sometimes had employees argue with me that it’s not possible. But not only did they make it, but their manager Marcy was so nice complimenting me on the addition, which was something she hadn’t seen despite working there for years. I really appreciate the service of this team during my annual stop to relive my childhood.
The employees are now making me feel like I should be there. There are two that stand out. I think she is the manager and perhaps the lead cook. They are both very enjoyable and make people want to…
We walked in at 4:45 asking for a take out dinner at 6:30 for a group of 30 students. Irene was so helpful in suggesting and working out a selection of large meals, and 2 boxes of tacos. We arrived f…
Portion sizes are good. Food was fresh & hot. Loved the ranch & jalapeno sauce. Difficult to pass up a Cabana when I have opportunity. Wait to order was longer than it should have been. Roughly 5 standing around just looking at us all while cashier had went to restroom apparently.
We can’t get enough TC. The breakfast taco combo is just right, so pick your favorite tacos. They offer weekly specials so make sure to ask or look around. We really appreciate the rewards program. We get so much for free now since we eat there each week. My husband drives trucks so he eats out every day for lunch. He may eat here several times a week. They have happy hour and have added more than just beer and margaritas now. Love the happy hour specials too.
Service is fast & friendly. The food was tasty & fresh. But the frozen mint strawberry margarita was terrible, it tasted like it was 55% mint syrup. Definitely won't waste money on that flavor again.
Food was good. Husband ordered crispy tacos, got soft, he enjoyed them. I ordered a carne guisada plate, there was barely enough meat for one taco, it was good but a much smaller portion than I'm used to. I asked for extra hot sauce and some pico, they gave me lots of hot sauce and no pico. Not entirely a bad experience just not what we expected. Edit. Carne guisada plate was good, more meat this time.
This particular Taco Cabana in New Braunfels Texas is a ok, but the salsa bar is never filled with fresh products, just not appealing to the eye. Their margaritas are yummy good, but the tacos were fair on this last visit of mine. I think the restaurant could use some TLC from the manager and crew.
We had great service when we ordered our breakfasts. Our breakfast tacos came on the freshly made tortillas--and they met the Taco Cabana standard. We had to request salsa, since the salsa bar is still out of commission, but I was actually offered more than I needed! Our tacos were tasty, and we enjoyed eating inside once again.
Typical location for this franchise. The interior is a bit in need of some TLC -- more frequent cleaning and touch ups especially at peak periods (the salsa bar definitely needs more frequent attention). Staff are hit and miss, and there is a a decided "off" feel inside the restaurant. Plenty of parking. One star less since they skimp on items like peppers and onions (a mainstay of the menu).
On my recent visit to Taco Cabana the drive thru was pretty busy. It was late, so there weren't many options. The person taking the order let me know there would be a wait and was very courteous. Once I got to the window the order was almost ready. They made everything exactly how I ordered it. The tacos were tasty! The Mexican pizza was nice. And I have tortillas to snack on for today.
They can't issue straws for purchase to go alcohol drinks!
This meal has changed my mind about this restaurant! The food was really fresh & really good! The guy at the drive thru was super nice & helpful with a great attitude! I wish I could remember his name so he would get some credit for this great experience I had this evening! I hope to go back to this restaurant again very soon!
200% better than a couple of years ago.
Lunch af 2:30 PM in a quiet empty dining room with one unbussed table, cheery holiday Muzak, and two delicious brisket melt tacos. I can't give five stars to the food because each taco included a hard dry chunk of beef. On the whole, the tacos were quite satisfying, but whoever assembled the tacos should have set aside the offending nuggets of jerky. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
Second favorite breakfast drive-in in NewB. Food is tasty, not expensive, pretty fast. Nothing is over the top "best in class" but always reliable and good for a change up in the usual fried chicken breakfast that I get. Only down-side is all the road/highway noise when ordering. Surprised after all these years they haven't put some sort of greenery or wood screen on the other side to absorb some of the sound. Oh well, that's an investment. Anyway, my go to is either a bacon, egg, cheese breakfast taco or chorizo, egg & cheese. Both I recommend as an occasional grab.
our order was wrong (missed a carne asada taco) it was ordered but I wasn’t charged for it so… just my tummy suffered 🤣 also, I was supposed to get 2 free tacos for signing up for rewards but somehow this location conveniently blocked the reward? wow, BUT the food was delicious
Wow, lot of hate on here for Taco Cabana. It isn't fine dining but it delivers what it advertises: cheap, fast, tasty, texmex. I don't do anything but breakfast tacos and it works. Not the best in to…

Flies in the dining area, dirty tables, and mold/slime on the ice dispenser. chips were stale but the tacos were fine.\n\nI wish I had waited and eaten at another restaurant.
Long line no problem, quality of the mangonada margarita was gross. Tasted like tequila and chili pepper hardly any mango flavor at all. Irritated that waiting in line that long and paying 6$ a margarita that's pretty small would at least taste good. Don't recommend
This location was decent. I must say I've had better TC food but this one seemed cleaner than some, though I did get breakfast so the time of day surely had lots to do with the cleanliness. Either way though the food was ok. Not a fan of their pancakes now but good would I ever conclude that without ordering them so lesson learned. Just not my favorite for sure.
I generally enjoy the food at Taco Cabana, and the prices are pretty reasonable. The main reason I only gave this location a 3 is that it is generally just in some state of dirty and disorganized. The last time in, the entire salsa bar was empty during the middle of dinner hours. Tables are usually not wiped down, particularly on the patio. It just lacks the attention to cleanliness and organization it needs.
Thebb by place is filthy, no women’s restroom and the men’s restroom is absolutely disgusting. We came here early, so it should be clean. Smelled so bad, people are gagging when they come out. Drink station is very dirty as well.
Ordered two small chicken quesadillas with pico and they had Harley anything on it. It was just tortilla.
Ordered some boxes for next day pickup and when I arrived and said I’m here to pick my order up, the woman behind the counter said she doesn’t see my order and walked away. I stood there until the manager saw me and asked if I wanted to order. I said I made an order the night before and she found it and made it and that’s probably why SHE is the manager and the other woman will never be in management.
The husband and I wanted something different for the lunch break today as we already tried everything else in the surrounding area. He ordered a ground beef burrito meal deal, which included the burrito, chips and queso, and a medium drink all for only $9.99. First impressions are, what a deal cause all this for only $10 is great. Now the menu stated ground beef, but my husband found himself eating chicken fajita which he said he he's not complaining, just was looking forward to the ground beef, but he didn't want to bother the employees for a remake. Over all great value, and service for a quick lunch break.
The cabana bowl with chicken was decent, prices pretty average but did go back another night and ordered the combo plate. It was delicious!

We have been here several times and Always the same...One person on the register who has NO clue to what they are doing and 10 people working drive thru and kitchen. The menu has been reduced so NOT everything is available. Inside tables have been reduced for Safety which is Good to see. Aside from the cheap margaritas not much else to go for. Maybe they should focus more on Service.
I can understand a restaurant being busy, but waiting an additional 30 minutes to get your food is ridiculous. With the number of cars going through the drive-thru and people inside the restaurant didn't make any sort of sense. We opted to get our money back and walked to iHop next door. We were seated almost immediately and only waited 15 minutes for our food. Hopefully this place can get its act together.
Time in the drive through was astounding. 30 minutes for 1 order of street tacos. Didn't get our tacos until 10 minutes AFTER cashing out. We watched the cook take his sweet time and saw he didn't start making our tacos until 5 minutes before receiving them. Only reason i give them 2 stars is because the tacos were delicious, i had to re pack them though because they looked like they'd been thrown into a wall, half the filing had slid to the side of the little box i received them in.
Food is the same as any other location. The facility left me feeling nauseous, constant sound effects from the sticky floor. Kitchen looked quite unkempt, then saw a cook come out of the bathroom running their hand along the bar at the waiting area, front counter tops, and almost every other object along the way to touch the food. Fortunately saw this when waiting for a to-go lid. Had to wash my hands before I felt comfortable getting in my vehicle
Tacos were ok but the service was bad. Manager was at register was giving attitude. She needs to be more suddle when trying to explain how her margaritas can only be ordered with food. And how you can not pay ahead of getting margaritas. I have worked in retail for many years and no matter what you have to be nice to your customers. If you don't like your job look for another one. We will never go back.
I went to the new braunfels location and ordered street tacos with out onion. But never said anything about the cilantro and lime . I got home with plain tacos.no cheese or anything.
Had to repeat my order three times. Asked for a shiner bock beer and was given dos x. Condition of the facilities is poor. Bathroom is dirty. The whole building needs to be renovated.
They had accidentally served off our order from their kitchen screens, and after 5 or 6 other customers (that came in after we did) got their food pretty quickly, I went and asked what was taking so long. They got our order out pretty quick after that, but none of the staff asked why we were sitting and staring at them for about 15-20 minutes with a table tent number that didn't exist on their order screens...I had to walk up to the counter and literally grab someone's attention to be helped.
Quality of food not great. My soft Taco was old, it was getting hard. They did not put in a fork, no napkins and I didn't get my water bottle either. At 5 pm the dine in area was closed, so we would have to go through the drive through again to get the missing things. And they take the orders so slow. Not going back there. Not sure if I ll try a different location.
The dine in is not open due to not having enough workers. The missed stuff in our bag so we had to go back and the wait was excruciatingly long all ready. The chips were a funky texture and the salsa tasted bad. The cheese enchilada bowl was weird.
I have never been to a Taco Cabana before and I wasn’t sure how the process worked. The manager that was taking my order wasn’t helpful at all. As far as the food I asked for no cheese and guess what I got. I went ahead and kept it rather than complain because I can’t see what they are doing to my food when they fix it. The food was ok. The tacos shell was a crunchy one and very good. The fajita on the other hand was not good at all. You get very little lettuce and that’s it to go with them. For all intents and purposes they should have called them soft tacos. Not sure I would go back.
We ordered online through the app. The only option to pick up the food was at the counter yet when we got there to counter was closed. Spoke with the employee at the door who told us to go through the drive-thru. The drive-thru at a long line. When we finally got to the window to pick up the food I asked the employee at the window was the food cold because we had ordered it a long time ago and hey I told us to go through the drive-thru when I came to the door to pick it up. I was assured that it was not cold and the order was complete. Got home to find out that both of those statements for false. The food is cold in the order was not complete. Not only was it not complete and cold the chicken feed at Cabana bowl had a very little chicken in it. Beans. I had to remove some of the beans because it was a ridiculous amount of beans. Very disappointed with this trip to Taco Cabana and won't be doing it again. I wouldn't recommend this Taco Cabana to anyone.
Twice they have forgotten parts of my order. Ya know I get it. They're young and it'd hard to fully staff businesses these days. I got to work and realized they had forgotten my ranch (2nd time this month) I drove back to TC. Whe I got inside a girl said someone would be with me. I waited for over 5 minutes until a young man helped me. He was super sweet. I wish I got his name. But everyone else just kinda stared or walked by. It's so weird.
I don’t understand how this place passes their health dept inspections. This is the filthiest non-Chinese restaurant in New Braunfels. I gave em two starts because I did end up eating some of the greasy, dripping tacos I ordered but I’m pretty sure that was my last trip; unless it’s late late late at night and I’m drunk and I forgot how filthy and gross this place is. And, OH GAWD! Don’t even get me started on the condiments bar… you’re better off digging condiments out of the trash. Picked over, never refreshed, 10% full, dried out nasty looking crap. If I ever go back, I’ll take pics but you’re gonna puke.
Placed an online order over an hour ahead of pick up time and it still came out 45 minutes late. Unfriendly staff and unapologetic.
Some of the staff is nice and efficient, but not all. The speaker for drive-thru faces the highway, so you spend half the time repeating yourself over the noise. The food, though... the food is the worst part. I don't think I've gotten one single thing there that was worth commenting on. We'll leave it at the food quality has a LOT of room for improvement.
I think it's over for Taco Cabana. I ordered a carne guisada taco today. It was maybe worth $2 at most, but I payed almost $5 for a taco with very little meat and a lot of gravy. I also ordered one…

We came here at 10:15pm on Friday, May 10th. 2 cars in front of us. Each car got 1 bag. We waited 25 min to finally get our order. And when we did the carne guisada had no meat. We told them and they fixed. This is not fast food. OWNERS pls figure out what is happening because this seems to be happening more and more. We plan to go somewhere else in future.
Did an online order for a curbside pickup. The app says to call the store. The doors are locked. But no one answers the phone. No matter how many times we called. They aren't slammed busy since they have the doors locked, so that part isn't the problem. Went through to the drive up window (only two other cars were there) and they seemed surprised that I was there instead of parked at the curbside spot. (Well when you don't answer, of course I'm going to find a different way to get your attention.) We got our food, which was the usual mostly okay. Ordered a large chips and guac and got queso instead, and the chips were extremely stale, like they had been sitting out for days. Can't say I plan on going back to this location ever again.
I ordered a Chicken enchiladas plate and they just sloped some chili on top of it. Nothing in the middle and it was soggy.plani gross. If I had eaten there i would have sent it back.Plus they gave me the wrong order to begin with. Maybe I should took that oder it instead
They were extremely rude because they couldn’t hear me although I was already borderline yelling; and when I got to the window they were once again rude and didn’t give me all of what I paid for which I didn’t realize until I had already left and parked.
Do us all a favor...CLOSE THIS PLACE IMMEDIATELY! Ordered online, prepaid for the entire order, $72 dollars. The Manager REFUSED to give me all my food. Said I bought too many bean and cheese tacos (a dozen), and saving them for "normal" orders. WHAT?? Then REFUSED to give me my money back, and was extremely RUDE about it. Beyond awful service, and the food I received, was wrong - ordered chicken, received beef.... and was not good at all. TC - PLEASE CLOSE THIS ONE!
Taco cabana has an issue with using cheese.. twice I have placed orders with items that had cheese and barely a drink left was added to the "Mexican pizza" even though the picture looks good no where close to what u get. Enchiladas had 0 cheese not on top not inside nothing. They acted like the cheese was being paid for by them.
Walk in mid-day on a Sunday. Lots of people waiting. Had to wait about 10 minutes to order. Waited another 15-20 minutes to get our food. They missed half of the order, so I had to go to the counter and complain to get the rest of my order. Rubbish was overflowing and the tables were messy. Obviously understaffed. Corporate needs to step in.
Will never go back again. After years and years of inconsistent meals and hoping the old tc I enjoyed was still around - Tonight’s meal was completely inedible. Meal I got through the drive through was not even recognizable as an enchilada plate - cold, wet tortillas flung together and unmelted cheese. No beans, just rice. No guac. Everything was horrendous and it still took them almost 30 minutes to get it to us in the drive through. This place is finished. Don’t go.
Tried to eat here over the Labor Day weekend. It was around 5pm on Sunday. Parked and walked to the door but a sign on the door said the dining room was closed so I went through the drive-thru. Waited in line for 15 minutes and only moved up one car length so I left before I got trapped in the drive-thru line. This TC location is definitely below-average from my experience. The drive-thru is difficult to use due to road noise; a sound wall would help. I’ve had better luck with the San Antonio locations. I’m sure they’re having staffing issues like everyone else but there are still some drive-thru places that manage to do better. Let’s Go Brandon.
I love TC! I go fairly often & have been craving some tacos. The last couple times I have been, the service has been dismal. Today I walked in and stood in line for at least 7 minutes if not 10 and no one even looked at me. They could have said "ma'am, we are busy, I'll be with you I'm a few". But avoiding eye contact is apparently customer service now. The lady waiting in line behind me left because she hadn't been helped and she was right to do so. I left too. Why give my business to a place that won't even acknowledge my presence?
I ordered to go food after meeting friends here. Fajita plate and chicken taco salad... yea... didn't get the fajita plate... trusted them to get it right.... but I should have checked.... I even repeated nyself twice to the young gal behind the til. Checked my receipt... yep that's what I paid for.... but only 2 fajita tacos... and oh!! The taco salad was pretty darn skimpy on the lettuce.... eesh.... probably won't order again.
I am a delivery Driver and I had a horrible interaction trying to pick up this delivery order. I simply was not addressed standing at the online order pick up for over 5-10 minutes. I understand it is a holiday and it is busy but until I stepped in line they did not even know the name of my order to provide any type of service to me. The pick up time was 1:26pm and I did not leave til almost 15 minutes later.I am only commenting because there was a lack of customer service.
This restaurant appears to be going down hill fast. Not recommended for anyone's dining experience.
Did not get sauces and dips ordered You guys need a quality bagging person.. that can assure all sauces/dips are included..
Good food but the service for the customer is so bad. The cashier took our order wrong, I didn’t get all my food I asked for and the manager was very rude just an awful experience
Food was good. I ordered 6 pack rolled tacos for $9.49. I did not know it was happy hour and I could have gotten 12 for that price. They gave me someone elses receipt who ordered 3 3 packs for 7.50. I told them. Attitude of the woman who attended to me acted like if it wasn't her problem. That I should k own their menu. Ladies restroom had trash on floor in stalls and by sink. No soap in women's restroom.
I’ve loved TC for forever so I’ve given this location quite a few chances. Order’s never correct. Never hot. Quality has deteriorated massively. The other day I went and they were out of chicken and pico and sour cream. It was the middle of the day. Disaster.
Today, I went to this location and ordered six carne guisada tacos. When the tacos arrived, I was disappointed to find that they all only had sauce and just a few pieces of meat. My husband went inside to ask them to fix it, but the guy at the front seemed confused about what was wrong. Even the manager, who was standing there, didn't seem to care and just turned away. I think this is terrible management. If they are serving tacos with so little meat, why would they charge so much for it? Especially in today's economy. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant and the manager clearly needs better training. They did fix the tacos, but still put hardly any meat. This was my last time going to Taco Cabana. The service was bad and the quality of the food was poor.
I don’t typically review places, but our experience was so unbelievably horrible that I feel compelled to share it. Think of it as a public service announcement: Beware the “Restaurant of Doom.” First off, the cleanliness—or lack thereof. If you’re nostalgic for the days when sticky floors and grimy tables were the norm, this is your place. The ambiance was a delightful mix of a 1980s fast-food joint and a haunted house. I half expected a ghost to float by offering me a mop. The culinary adventure continued with our order, which was apparently relayed to the kitchen via a game of “Telephone.” What started as a simple burger and fries somehow became a vegan salad with a side of existential dread. It’s like the staff was playing a game of “How Wrong Can We Get It?” Spoiler alert: they won. But wait, there’s more! The customer service. Oh, the customer service. If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to be completely invisible, just stop by. You’ll get the full experience. We were greeted with the enthusiasm of a teenager forced to work on a Saturday morning. Every interaction was as if we were imposing on their very existence. I started to feel bad for disturbing their busy schedule of doing absolutely nothing. When we finally did manage to flag someone down, they treated us like we were asking for the world’s most complicated favor. “Excuse me, can we get some napkins?” Apparently, this was akin to asking for a handwritten manuscript of War and Peace. In summary, if you enjoy filthy environments, incorrect orders, and being treated like an inconvenience, then by all means, visit this establishment. As for me, I will never return to this location again. I’m now in search of a restaurant that knows the difference between a burger and a salad, and where customer service doesn’t involve a scowl and an eye roll. Good luck out there, fellow diners! You’ve been warned.
I don’t leave reviews much, but this warrants it. Definitely a drive thru only place. Ate in on the evening of 12/7 and was faced with emotionless faces, waiting 10 minutes at the register to order, slow meal fulfillment when they only had one other drive thru order and both their soda machines were flat and without Ice. If you don’t wanna do indoor service, just shut the doors and do drive thru only.
I used to come here a lot, but recently they’ve been messing up my orders. The last two times I’ve ordered I got something I didn’t even ask for, I figured today I’d give them a try because third times a charm? Nope, yet again I got nachos when I asked for a taco. They don’t give you silverware/ chips with your order you have to ask for them. Wouldn’t recommend
I've been twice to this place and they always add very little food to your breakfast tacos you do not get what you paid for at this taco cabana!! Every other taco cabana is just fine but this Taco cabana in New Braunfels tx, simply don't care what you pay for and serve you how ever they feel just to get the orders over with..I recommend you to check your tacos before leaving this place when it's to go because they either don't have enough of what you ask for or they too lazy to make more!! It's our money and we pay for it we should get what we should and that small table spoon of amount of food they add to your breakfast is NOT right at all!! I'm very disappointed from their service Don't come here find a other Taco Cabana everyone!
I got A chicken quesadilla and it had like mystery meat in it. That's cuz I live in corpus and we don't have Taco Cabana anymore and I was excited to have it again and it was such a disappointment..
The tacos i just got for breakfast look like they were made yesterday and left in a warmer till i pullled up the foil was basically falling off , the beans are so drier than the Sahara desert, and i was the only person in line so it's not like they were super busy.. who wants dehydrated beans and unmelted cheese for $5 i know a great spot apparently
The last few times that I have been there, the place is dirty. The food was not good. The weight staff or order taker was not accommodating or very pleasant to look at the floor in bathrooms are extremely dirty.
First off they require masks in the dining room but it is fine print(aka small) on their papers posted at the entry. Second I ordered sopapias and asked for both dippings... didn't receive either. Also a steak fajita taco is only steak in a tortilla? I understand why this place closed down where I live.
Food was tasteless and didn't even look good. Kids got Bean & Cheese tacos that looked like bad diarrhea. Loaded Fries were not very good or very loaded. Family of 7 left half our food uneaten.
I went to pickup my order and pickup was fairly easy, but since I got such a big order I checked when I got back to my job and we were missing 1 out of 2 bags of chips. So he gave me the worst attitude and said “I know for sure I put both bags in there” and pulls out 3 bags to give us, and says “when you get back you’ll find the other bag of chips” Moral of the story there was only 1 bag of chips and why is a worker being so nasty to a customer. It was an older gentleman but he should be fired for talking to customers like that. So simple to give me another bag of chips but instead made it such a big deal out of it. Corporate should be looking at who they are hiring because it’s very easy to fix the issue IF ITS A BAG OF CHIPS
Fast cheap and usually good taste. Last couple visits not so great. I ordered tacos and my egg and potato was a potato taco with dry, overcooked potatoes. Egg who wants that? Last two times, not very friendly. Started off no ice in fountain machine the soda I went to get was out and had to get something else. Then the taco. Will not be returning. Place looks old and ran down and employees seem to have no care in the world.
I needed to pick up three boxes of tacos because Morningside Elementary was short of food donations for the children's Christmas party. I went to New Braunfels first. No one acknowledged me at the counter for about eight minutes, so I just left. Next I drove all of the way to Schertz to find a line inside of about twenty people. No one acknowledged any of us standing at the counter. After about 10 minutes of waiting I just placed an online order. Giving up my military discount of course. After $68.17 and about another 20 minutes I finally got my order. When I got to the school I discovered that two of the tacos had ripped open foil, so they had to be thrown away. We can't serve open containers to the kids. The salsa was also wrong. It was supposed to be the ranch salsa. Total it took me 1 1/2 hours to get back to school. The party was over 1 hour later The party was two hours long. I missed half of it. This was the worst experience that we have ever had at a food establishment. We will no longer be purchasing anything from Taco Cabana again. Thank you very much for your time. Merry Christmas and happy new year
Went in to pick up an order a dozen bean and cheese tacos and it took over 45 minutes for them to get my order out not good. Customer service did not attend me and completely. Ignore me until the next shift to walk in there on the other hand, then incoming shift were completely opposite. They were courteous nice but the early morning shift did not meet up to standards on what they should be given customers.
Used the drive thru to order bacon, egg, and cheese tacos. I come home and find out I received bacon, BEAN, and cheese tacos. Like what the heck lol? The workers who put together the tacos must have been hungover or something. If I could give them a 0/5, I would. I also tried calling them after the fact and it took me to voicemail.
With so many options why go here. Stop in for some breakfast tacos , bean and cheese and guisada taco. The filling for the bean, cheese was so thin. And the Guisada taco was literally 2 PCs of meat and all gravy. It was like having a tortilla full of gravy. Much better options out there.
I have never in my life seen any restaurant or anyone for that matter but such a small amount of meat on anything. I should have taken a picture of it before I ate the two bites of meat that were piled on top of this taco salad. I would be ashamed to hand it to someone that was paying for it. If it wasn't chaotic on the roads bc it's Halloween I would take it back. It was full of lettuce and full of rice though. I would not suggest anyone eat there *That is swell of you to respond to my review. Still wasted my money just the same. not a discounted meal not a coupon. Just a come on back and let us hang it to you again. 👍
I’ve been getting the same thing for the past 6 months — chicken fajitas tacos with no grilled onions or peppers. It’s amazing…. Until my last visit. The chicken looked like dark meat. It looked nothing like the picture or what I usually get. I asked the guy at the register if this was the correct meal for a fajitas chicken taco and he said “we only have one meat”. I tried to eat it, it was disgusting. I threw both tacos away and will never go back. I took a picture but I can’t find a place to upload it on this review.
These people couldn't get an order right if they tried. And they dont. You will never find a more uncaring group of employees at a restaurant in your life than this location. Their policy here is "We don't care!" and it shows. Service is slow and rude food is cold and incorrect. Stay away at all costs.
Visited on 07/06/25 at 6:20pm. Love Taco Cabana but this specific location is absolutely terrible. And I usually don’t speak badly on establishments, especially not to go to the lengths of leaving a bad review.. that’s how bad it was. Customer service was fine, but whoever you have cooking in the kitchen needs to be retrained. We got 6 tacos mostly bean and cheese and 1 shredded chicken taco. The beans tasted like they were burnt or scrapped from the bottom of the pan I don’t even understand why they would serve that. The shredded chicken taco was assembled very oddly. Lettuce and tomatoes at the bottom and a big slop of messy shredded chicken spilling out of the taco it was soggy and inedible. The bean and “cheese” tacos lacking all cheese , I’m guessing they put the cheese on the bottom of the tortilla since they also assembled the other taco backwards, and they slopped the burnt beans on top?? Very weird never seen that done before couldn’t even taste the cheese and was hardly visible upon inspection. And the salsas they gave us were mostly empty and that is not an exaggeration. Are you guys rationing salsa over there? Because all of our red and green salsas were 1/4 full.. less than half full. So crazy. Wasn’t even enough to cover all of the tacos. Which the bean ones badly needed some extra flavor. Tortillas were also dry as heck. Extremely disappointed, I wouldn’t give any stars if that was possible but I guess 1 star will have to do for this google review. My husband and I work hard for our money so when we do get to rarely eat out we hope it’ll be money well spent. Taco Cabana is amazing in San Antonio, I figured it would be great coming out of town but was extremely let down by this experience. Never EVER coming to this location again. A waste of money.
Well, I always enjoy spending 30 bucks on 10 tacos. This place is going down and always check your order when you go through the drive through. EVER TIME WE GO HERE THROUGH THE DRIVE THROUGH THEY SCREW UP THE ORDER AND I JAVE TO GO INSIDE!!. SO WHY EVEN HAVE A DRIVE THROUGH!!. Will never go here again, and I don't see TC staying in business much longer. Used to be good back in the day. Now all these entitled young workers you hire have run your business into the ground. Will not pay for anything I don't get, so check every order people, and I hope managers or owners start addressing these issues or you will be out of business. Good luck.
This TC location used to be above average but over the past several years it’s been on the decline. This week it was absolutely terrible. Photos speak louder than words so I’ve attached a few on this review. I understand the difficulty in hiring people these days so I’m ok with a lack of customer service and long wait times. However, there is absolutely no excuse for serving someone food like the black beans in the attached photos.
