I sat at the bar during my visit, and my bartender/server Kelsey was absolutely fantastic. She was very professional, carried herself well, and looked great — as did the entire staff. Everyone looked sharp, well put-together, and carried themselves with a level of professionalism that really stood out. I ordered the chicken fried steak with Brussels sprouts and started with a salad. The salad came out exactly how I asked — fresh, crisp, and perfectly prepared. I asked for bread, and within less than 30 seconds another friendly server brought it right out. It was warm, soft, and fresh, and the young lady who brought it was very polite and made sure I had everything I needed. When my entrée arrived, it was served at the perfect temperature — hot and fresh without being overly hot. The chicken fried steak was cooked perfectly: not too crispy, not soggy, and full of flavor. The gravy was warm and smooth, and the Brussels sprouts were some of the best I’ve had — tender, slightly caramelized, and perfectly seasoned. I’ve been dining at Saltgrass locations throughout Houston and Harris County for over 20 years, and I can honestly say this New Caney location (in Montgomery County) is the best Saltgrass in the greater Houston area. This was my second visit here, and both times have been excellent. The first time I came was with my family for my sister’s birthday, and even with a large, packed party, the service was exceptional. Today’s lunch visit confirmed that this location consistently delivers great food and outstanding service. A big thank-you to Kelsey for being so gracious, professional, and attentive. She truly made my experience enjoyable from start to finish. The staff, service, and food here are all top-notch — highly recommend this location!

Very busy place even came in at 4pm .Ordered NY strip and Ribeye steak.Both were just OK. There were a lot of servers and service was great .

Excellent food and service. The new location is easily located off 69 and 99 in New Caney. We love everything about this new location. It's very well ran. The servers are extremely nice and welcoming, and the restaurant layout is impeccable. I'm very impressed all around! Thanks yall.

Ordered a 10 oz Wagon Boss top sirloin cooked medium and it was perfect! The meat was cooked to my liking and the paired mashed potatoes were delicious. Very cute and casual dining establishment with great customer service. I’m a fan!

I was a little nervous to eat here due to the reviews, but my husband convinced me since I was starving and we were right there and he’s been there before. This was my first time eating at a Saltgrass and we just moved here. The vibe was very laid back for early Saturday and everyone at the door was friendly. Our server was Leo, and he was excellent. He was very friendly, he frequently checked on us, the drinks never went empty, and everything came in great timing. My kids (5&6) got basic meals, my husband got a brisket burger, and I got the country fried steak. The kids grilled cheese was basic, but expected. The kids burger was decent nothing flattering. My husband loves the brisket burger he usually gets. Now my go-to at any restaurant like that is always chicken fried steak. This was the best one I have ever had. That gravy is unmatched and even the Caesar salad had more flavor than the usual steakhouse. I will definitely return to this Saltgrass until I have a reason not to. Wife and I stopped by for a late lunch early dinner (2:45PM) and it was not crowded at all. Started our meal with the fresh baked bread with butter and each had a dinner salads. Wife had the shrimp plate with a loaded baked potato while I had the half rack of ribs with french fries. She enjoyed her shrimp while my ribs fell off of the bones juicy and very flavorful. Our waiter was on top of his game taking care of us as we were to full for any desserts, we left satisfied.

A good place for steak. Very friendly staff. We were immediately seated and within a minute we had our server and shortly after our drinks. Really attentive crew. Great place to be a regular.

Place was well maintained and staff was very courteous. Our waitress seemed to be fairly new as she tended to forget requests or refills but understandable for the time of day and minimal staff. Perhaps the greatest shock was the final bill as we ordered 4 lunch items, 1 to go item, 4 soft drinks, 1 alcoholic drink, and an appetizer. All the food was listed as @$20 each and the bill came to the table non-itemized at a little over $167 before tip. I was slightly shocked due to figuring it was going to be no more than @$120. So despite the food being small and place laid out good, I advise that you request an itemized receipt before paying. I thought it was, we were in a rush, and got to thinking more about it while on the road. Same number of guests at Texas Roadhouse and off dinner menu for over $40 less. Dinner menu here is $10-15 higher than lunch menu (talking $30-40 per item!). So be weary of where you're at and be prepared, cost is on the high end and servings are not that big.

We love to visit all the Saltgrass locations, we were sitting at the patio, the host was friendly but she ignored the fact that the table and chairs were super dirty with much dust all over them. She stated that, “all the tables were like that.“ Who wants to sit on a pile of dust and eat on a table with so much dust? I asked for a napkin or something to clean it myself, she brought a paper napkin, instead of asking an associate to clean it… I used a cloth napkin from my table. Bri came to serve us and she was nice, and friendly.

I am a Landry’s club member and frequently dine out at Saltgrass Steakhouse. Today, they had new menu’s which showed pricing went up and the steaks went up by at least $2. Hubby and I didn’t mind because we enjoy their steaks. However, the salad was reduced to just lettuce mix, small amount of shredded cheese & croutons. I asked the bartender and she stated that they have stopped putting tomatoes on the salads. I expect more from them since they are one of the higher priced steak houses. Do better Landry’s / Saltgrass!!

First. We love salt grass. This specific instance isn’t what we’ve seen at other locations. We had a bit of a wait before our waiter got around to us. Took forever to get our drinks. We ordered our usuals. My usual is the 6oz filet, baked potato with a salad. The filet is the prime cut of meat. There was a gristle along the top. I was unable to cut thru. I flipped the steak around and cut it. It was so undercooked I was not eating. When I finally got the waiters attention he wasn’t understanding what I was showing him. He showed the manager or assistant manager. Im unsure which as neither never came to the table. The entire table was finished eating and then some before I got a new steak. I didn’t even want to eat. Was just ready to go. The service was lacking. The managers were lacking. Do better. The cost of those steaks is too expensive to deal with this.

We have dined at the Saltgrass Steak House on four separate occasions. The first time, everything was incorrect, from the drinks to the temperature of our $40 steaks, which totaled a bill of $160.00. We attributed this to a busy Friday night dinner service. During the second and third visits, my entire meal was prepared incorrectly, with overcooked and inedible meat. Management's response was, "I don't normally work this shift." For the last two visits, we were served by "Betty" Amparo, who, although pleasant, did not adequately listen to our needs as consumers. Typically, we simply pay and leave; however, on this occasion, a manager named Beverly provided exceptional service, taking the time to engage with us. We intend to return, as it is convenient and Beverly provided outstanding service. However, I will request not to be seated in Betty's section. Also I had a full order of the Brussels sprouts to go but I only got half of them.

The food was very cold, the service was very bad, and everything was very expensive, incredibly expensive. They even mixed up the dishes when they brought them to the table.

They are trash! They don’t make your food correct ever! On 10/28 I ordered grill chicken loaded mash potatoes and etc. I specifically asked for well done chicken. Upon picking up the food the chicken was RAW. Called in spoke to Bri the manager. She told me she would make sure my food was correct the next time. Ok the next time I upgraded my meal with a ribeye, again well done no PINK. Go home ribeye cooked medium it was RAW in the inside! Another $50 meal lost! They don’t do what you asked the sides are processed meals you can at least cook the grilled part as asked! This location is TRASH when it comes to preparing the food and answer the phone, you’re on hold forever. I will continue to let people know that SALTGRASS don’t care anything about their customers. This has the be the worst location on food. This the raw steak I ordered that was supposed to be well done
