Amazing food and great location. Got takeout but it was worth checking out the place. Best Thai food I’ve had in awhile. My friend got vegan pad Thai and ate every last bite. I also got pad Thai but with chicken and it was very delicious. Medium spicy was just enough spice level for me. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for something delicious on Magazine street.
Food was delicious but the service sucked. They were too busy with a private party in the back, the manager came by and tried to smooth things over and said we'd get a comped round of drinks but we were charged for that too lol. Anyway that was lame but the food was awesome and it's worth going if they aren't too busy I think.
I recently visited Sukho Thai Restaurant and had an amazing experience! The vegan food was fantastic flavourful and beautifully presented. I highly recommend trying the Coconut Milk Thai Iced Tea; It was refreshing and perfectly balanced. Our server, Jennifer was so friendly, and made us feel truly welcomed. Her excellent service added to the wonderful dining experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!
I had a great experience dining here! The staff was incredibly attentive, making sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. The food was delicious, and I loved that they let you choose your preferred level of spiciness. The menu is impressively diverse, with options for every taste. Highly recommend!
Had an amazing date night at SukhoThai. Even on a Friday, we found street parking right away and got a great table overlooking Magazine Street. Drinks, service, and food were all on point. We kicked things off with the Spicy Edamame. My spouse kept it light with the appetizer sampler, and I went for the sizzling salmon. The staff was super attentive and kept our drinks topped off. All in all, a perfect night out for us.
Great service and atmosphere. The real star of the show is the food. They really listen to you.
The service from Shelby T was amazing. Highly recommend this place to eat at. Till next time.
Brooke P. did an amazing job! Such a great experience 10/10 experience would come again and recommend
Shelby was such a lovely server! Amazing food the ahi katsu was great.
Tasty dumplings and green curry. Nice to have happy hour all day on Friday!
Danielle did a great job, and the food here is always incredible!
Wonderful vegan menu!! Including vegan appetizers and desserts! And GREAT service 😍😍😍
Danielle took great care of us! Excellent service and great food.
We just had a great lunch there today, on the terrace. We love Thai food and all our 4 meals were delicious. Large choice on the menu. Impeccable service!
Really great food and great service from our server!
Really enjoyable ambiance with a fun, adventurous, well-appointed menu. Staff are courteous but attentive and not shy about making recommendations. The food itself is exquisite and with every penny. Would be our go-to if we lived closer by.
Fantastic service and a lovely atmosphere. Has a large menu that will suit all palates. The drunken noodles were amazing, and they actually have a spice scale where hot means HOT. The beef in the drunken noodles was also perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My girlfriend had the curry noodle soup that was also excellent. Will definitely be coming back and thoroughly recommend!
Food and service are great. I’m very happy when I visit here. Delicious cuisine like original thai taste. Customer service is very well friendly and polite. Strongly recommend if you need a wonderful thai restaurant at New Orleans.
I love the drunken noodles and drunken rice, but the dragon puffs are to die for! If you're on Magazine you need to stop by, you'll love it.
They serve very good Thai food. I love the Pad Thai and my wife loves the seafood drunken noodles. Both are very good. The curries are also great. I like #2 spice level. You can go up to #5. Service is good and the price is great for lunch portion.
In from out of town and was close Airbnb. Delish! Had Tom Kha, spring and fresh rolls. Good service and food. Would come again!
One of my favorite places for Thai Food! The atmosphere and cuisine is unmatched! My favorite is the Drunken Noodles with Tofu!
Shelby was an amazing waitress! The food was delicious and fresh to order! I always enjoy being here!
Great experience! Danielle did a lovely job taking care of my girlfriend and I
Food was very tasty, our server Joe was sweet and gave us Mango Sticky Rice on the house as the spice level of our food was mixed up. But that wasn't a big deal, I'd definitely go again. I think it's also reasonably priced.
We usually do takeout cause we live close and the food is good, but we recently took visiting family here and the service and atmosphere were great! Our server Danielle took great care of us.
Food and atmosphere are fantastic. Dalton also gave great recommendations. Everything tasted very fresh and the spices were on point.
Huntley was the best serving. Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable. She made our dinner extra enjoyable. She’s a keeper!
Everything is wonderful. Delicious food like original Thai taste. Friendly and polite customer service. Strongly recommend if you need to try Thai cuisine in New Orleans.
Danielle was fantastic! She knew everything on the menu and fully recommended everything that my family and I ordered. The Chicken Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles were some of the best that I have had! Go to SukhoThai and ask for Danielle.
The food was fantastic and Morris was outstanding! He provided recommendations, told us he didn't know when asked about something he was unfamiliar with and went to find the answer. We also saw him work at everything from waiting to bussing and cleaning and was excellent in everything he did. We will definitely be back for the food and service.
Absolutely delicious! Best Thai cuisine in New Orleans. The attention to detail is immaculate at Sukho Thai. Our waiter, Dalton was incredible in recommending dishes and suggesting option for our table.
Excellent food and thorough service from Danielle. Awesome and authentic neighborhood spot. Gets a little loud in the main dining, so sit near the bar if you need to have a closer conversation. 11/10!!
Exceptionally good place for a late lunch. The food is well seasoned and tender. All food is spicy but flavorful. Their steak is cooked to order. Everything is very well balanced and tasty. Very well worth the money spent.
We loved the Pad Thai and the Tom Kha we had here today! The atmosphere is warm and very friendly. It's relaxed but clean - with attention to decor and ambiance. Our server Meg was extremely helpful and friendly. We will be back for sure!
Exelente restaurante
Sukho Thai was a comforting and flavorful stop when I was craving something warm and satisfying in New Orleans. The atmosphere felt relaxed and unpretentious — a cozy spot where the focus is clearly on the food. I ordered a classic Thai dish, and the flavors were bold yet well-balanced. The spices had a nice kick without overwhelming the palate, and everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The portions were generous, making it a great value as well. Overall, Sukho Thai is a dependable choice for authentic, flavorful Thai cuisine — simple, satisfying, and full of comforting depth.
Holiday-time lunch after shopping on Magazine Street. Perfect pairing. The configuration of the restaurant is different at the new location providing more view of the street: airy and elegant. There is a more extensive hot tea menu than I recall. We had the White Lotus which was floral and balanced. We shared the green papaya salad. Delicious. Believe the server’s advice to stick to 2/5 heat with this dish. Delicious and refreshing. We shared Pad Kee Mao and Eggplant Lover entrees (lunch specials are only on weekdays). I highly recommend both.
Very good place, Service is also very good, i guess Erin was my server, very prompt service i ordered many food and drinks Which was good but the food was warm and it took little time as i understand may be because i ordered lot of food !! They have nice drinks specials every day so make sure check out before you go and they also have lot of TEA options if you are tea lover.
This place has a dedicated Vegan/Vegetarian menu which made us to pick this restaurant in the first place. The ambience is a little laid back and calm. They have brick walls and some authentic art pieces on the wall. Our server was pretty sweet, very attentive and prompt. She knew the menu well and was able to guide and suggest some menu options. We ordered the Vegan Pineapple Fried Rice and Vegan Dirty Noodles (more like Drunken noodles). Flavor wise, both were very nice. Spice levels were perfect (we went with the Mild level). Quantity wise, the amount was decent too. A little pricey when compared to other places in New Orleans. We may come back here if we are in NOLA the next time, but this wont be our first choice.
The second best Thai in the city! (And I LOVE Thai and explored thoroughly). Great for a big group or date. Appetizers are mid and dinner meals are great. Have an extensive menu so group for any diets.
Favorite local thai restaurant in NOLA. Food is always amazing, when they get it right. Half the time, takeouts orders seem to be missing something or incorrect. Calling them, they are very helpful and offer to fix the orders immediately. The dining experience at Sukhothai has always been a bit slow, even when the restaurant is empty. Maybe understaffed a bit?
Excellent food. Tried their Vegan Green Curry and vegetarian Fried rice. While the service was good, they missed some of our orders. However they were graceful, apologetic and I’m sure would have done better had the place been not so crowded in the evening. I recommend this place. Try when they are not too busy, for excellent food and service.
The food and drinks were great and they have a good happy hour. The outside seating area is really nice. Service was definitely lacking in that it was just incredibly unorganized.
Danielle was a delightful, knowledgeable and efficient waitress. Dinner was delicious. Highly recommend the experience!
Our groups arrived on a cold Tuesday night, were waited around 45 mins for a table at around 7:30. Really crowded so we were excited for the food. Pad Thai was a typical dish found in your local Thai restaurant, no problem. But the Crying Tiger was really something else (photo attached), we highly recommend you to order it so you can have a feeling of wasting money like a rich CEO dude living in the silicon valley. Been to many Thai places for Crying Tiger, but this place made us cried when seeing the dish due to the quality of it🥲.
Ordered delivery through UE for my birthday, was disappointed. Even after nearly half off I spent just under $20 and felt the portions were small, main dish was lacking flavor, and I ended up with a pretty rough stomach ache that evening. Had I paid full price for those portions Id be extremely irritated. *Chapstick for scale in photo*
This Thai restaurant on Magazine Street offers a pleasant setting with friendly staff and comfortable outdoor seating. It wasn’t very crowded during my visit, which made for a relaxed dining experience. The food, however, was mixed. The mahi‑mahi green curry was disappointing — the fish didn’t taste particularly fresh — and the salad was a bit awkward to eat. The standout dish was the drunken noodles, which had great flavor and balance. Overall, a decent spot with lovely service and atmosphere, though the food could be more consistent.
After carefully parallel parking and getting settled inside the restaurant, we thought we were good to go—especially with the neon sign still glowing 'OPEN.' We walked in about five minutes before 10 o’clock, just wanting a quick to-go item. But the kitchen had already shut down, and they flat-out refused to serve us. What’s the point of the sign being on if they weren’t actually serving?
Only my second time at this location, but the lack of care from my server probably has made it my last visit. She was very un attentive and rushing us, my dish was cold but our server never came back so I just ate as is. Then upon receiving Togo boxes she took 15 min to rerun and was ready to drop the check, when I asked her for the dessert menu she seemed shocked and informed me some items can’t be made since the kitchen closed 3 min prior. Unbelievable. Gathering to chat with her colleagues vs ensuring a good dining experience I guess.
We did an online order at a specific time a day prior to pickup. The order was not ready as scheduled, in fact it was 40min late. The food was cold and the serving size was small for the price. Moreover, the Uber Eats orders and walk in customers took priority over ours. The staff was apologetic and suggested a comp for the delay but that was never received. Overall it was a poor experience.
Ordered take out a dirty noodle thru toast Ask for NO Chinese broccoli and didn’t sub to regular broccoli Still got broccoli in my food Called manager and he said it’s come with both broccoli when the menu said Chinese broccoli OR broccoli Manager can’t help northing! Disappoint!
I’m so disappointed with my Drunken Noodle. I spent $30 ordering via Waitr and this is the second time in a row that I’ve received a spice less dish. I specifically requested HOT as in spicy. I don’t see not one chili pepper flake nor even a hint of black pepper. I’m not in the habit of wasting my money so this will be my last time ordering from them.
Disappointing Experience at Sukho Thai due to terrible service. Our visit to Sukho Thai on Magazine Street left much to be desired. The waitress/bartender was fantastic, but the kitchen and manager repeatedly botched our order. It took over 20 minutes to reheat up our food as we were waiting for the rest of it, and appetizers arrived after our final entree. Despite decent food, the overall experience was marred by the restaurant's poor service. The manager, engrossed with other tables, neglected ours. We never had a chance to get the errors fixed. We tipped our waitress, but a regrettable evening at Sukho Thai has left us wishing for better.
I have always loved my dining experiences at Sukhothai, but my recent visit to their new location left me extremely disappointed. While the atmosphere was nice, the overall quality of the food and service has significantly declined. Firstly, let's talk about the dumplings. They were the driest dumplings I've ever had in my entire life. It felt like they had been microwaved or left under lights for too long. I could barely chew them, and they completely lacked any flavor. To make matters worse, I thought I ordered the 3 flavor fish with shrimp and scallops, but I only received the fish. When I brought this to the attention of the waitress, she nonchalantly informed me that there are two versions of the 3 flavor fish on the menu, and the kitchen send me the one without shrimp and scallops. How was I supposed to know that? As a minimum expectation, the staff should have clarified which version I wanted before taking my order. Based on this disappointing experience, I highly doubt that I will ever be returning to Sukhothai's new location. The decline in food quality, coupled with the poor service, has left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I expected much better from a restaurant that I have previously enjoyed.
Well, they respond to me apologizing and saying that they have guests after 9:45/10 pm but funny how they say that after I myself call and review beforehand my parents got there.. they didn’t get guest after 9:45 because the kitchen was close. They also did not pay but is not about that is the fact they email back saying how their team was working till 11 but when i call before 9:45 they told me that their kitchen close at 9:45 and when my parents got there after 9 hours of driving they didn’t wanna serve them.. i cannot blame the server but i can say that when the server was asking what they want she sounded annoyed.. i mean i get it I'm a server myself but still I wouldn’t treat my last table or a table like that. All I'm saying is that after i said I wanted to talk to a manager (which she was rude too and you can listened to the record call) you can tell she was rude too and the i got proof thank to them email me but i also got my phone records and can show that i call them apologizing that ik they were gonna get there before closing but if they can still give them Good serving :/
I use to love this restaurant until I took my mother here for Mother’s Day and no one came to the table while I was talking outside it took them 30mins to come to the table and it wasn’t busy at all the only reason they came is because I had to ask the Manager to send someone to the table but when the managers friends came in the same waitress the cake to our table sat them down where I asked to be seated and said the managers name and proceeded to say she told me you were very important friends of hers and gave them the fastest service and even sat down with them and talked I guess my mother and I wasn’t that important everytime I’m in town I’ve always spoke highly of this restaurant I drove 3hrs to eat here as I would when it was closer to Napoleon Ave this would be my last time at this restaurant. Management is friendly to certain people I see. And offered us dessert I can buy what I want it’s the service that was disappointing.
Ive eaten at another SukhoThai and had a great experience. Tried to order to go on the phone. Lady that answered put me on hold long enough for me to drive to restaurant still on hold. I ask to order and she asks the customer behind me what she could do for them before finishing with me. Then gets rude and says she has to attend to people at the door first, understandable to an extent but the attitude was unnecessary and I'm now at your door literally waiting for you to finish messing with your machine and take my 1 dish order. All the attitude and hassle had me tell her have a good day and walk out as she loudly repeated my words back to me. It was just a negative experience overall, and wasted my valuable time. And now in their reply the lady claims she had ppl at the bar and the door. Look at the cameras, she had 1 person at the bar, me, and one person came thru the door behind me. Its just silly, just apologize and do better. She had no right to behave the way she did. Period.
