Opinions de Meril New Orleans
Walked by this place several times getting to the streetcar, as it was just half a block from our hotel. Wondered based on the name if it was an Emeril restaurant, and indeed it was! Finally decided to try it one night when we didn't have dinner plans. Everything we ordered was fantastic and our server was great! Portions are small to medium, great for sharing.
The food at Merils is so yummy. It was super cool to watch the kitchen staff prepare each meal with so much attention. This was the best meal I’ve ever had in my life. Props to the resteruant manager and all the staff for prepping the food and giving us the best experience ever. Packed up the left overs and got to enjoy it back at the hotel.
Wonderful lunch place near The New Orleans convention center. We had a wonderful server called my very delicious salads, and an amazing bananas Foster dessert. The ambience is wonderful and if you get there before 11:30 AM you have the entire restaurant yourself. It's within easy walking distance of the convention center and there and extremely high quality food for a reasonable price. Highly recommend!
This is a fantastic place! Go for lunch just as we did and enjoy. Most amazing thing was the Korean wings! The greek salad was beyond amazing! The flatbread was excellent as well. Had some great drinks as well! Staff was nice and friendly and I will say this a great place to try. One negative thing is the restaurant is loud. Lots of hard surfaces makes it hard to carry on a conversation.
It's Emeril so the food and drinks were good. I ordered the yellow fin tuna app. I didn't love the seafood dip and fried crackers. My expectations was a cheesy dip. The steak was tender. Shots were smooth. The fried turkey neck app was flavorful and would have it again. Unfortunately, the cotton candy was not sweet. Great presentation though. The vibe was cool. Good music. Great night.
From the moment I walked into Meril, it was a great experience. The host was extremely nice and inviting. The two servers were so professional and attentive. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the drinks were to die for. If you are looking for a contemporary American style restaurant, this is the place for you. I would suggest making a reservation. I will definitely be back.
I reserved for a group of 10 on a Tuesday. I absolutely loved this meal - from the Korean wings, to the tart fish sauce Brussels sprouts, to the flatbread. The half chicken was delicious but just a bit difficult to cut in a bowl. My colleagues loved their ribs, tacos, and fish. The cotton candy was funny, served with a sparkler. I loved my pomegranate bourbon drink with the rosemary!
We had a blast at Meril last night with 12 of us! The food was amazing, but the tuna appetizer was next-level good. Drinks were solid too, and the vibe was super lively. The staff was on point they never missed a beat. The only snag was their no-separate-check rule for big groups like ours. Divvying the bill with 12 people turned into a group calculus quiz at the end, which was a bit of a drag. I get big groups can be a pain logistically, but adding split checks would’ve made the end of the night way smoother. Fingers crossed they’ll tweak that policy eventually.
A 💯 must try! All the food was scrumptious! My favorite was the 🥚 deviled eggs, meatballs, brussel sprouts...who am I kidding, it was all so delicious my 🤤 mouth is watering just thinking of it all! Very affordable and everyone was so nice and helpful. An experience you just don't want to miss!
Took a night stroll on Thursday evening. Down to the magazine district stumbled across MERIL...... Walked in and immediately was impressed with the atmosphere. And ambiance of the place had a nice selection of music going. Set immediately in the lounge by the bar. Just came in for a drink and an appetizer. Wow, was I thrown back? Drinks were made. Buy a man name Angelo very cool guy. Very well, spoken. Explain the menu from front to back with precision. Did I tell you? The drinks were made great. Thanks again, Angelo asked what the local recommendations were and we were told to get the barbecued shrimp. Holy Moly incredible plate also, the pineapple upside down cornbread. Which is to die for the street. Corn was some of the best I've had and we. Also got the cheese plate all in all 5 star meal. And this is just the appetizers, highly recommended. We will be back and I will tell everyone about this place. Thanks again.
The food here is great. Our party enjoyed the food and environment. The service is equally as good. We were treated well the moment we entered the place. Nice layout with the main eating area separate from the bar area but in the same open space. The cotton candy with sparkler for birthdays is very cool.
This was our first time at Meril and we really enjoyed the total experience. The service was really first class and even though they were very busy it was quite efficient. The food was very good with a fairly eclectic menu. The room noise was lively but not at all overwhelming, a lot of fun.
Amazing small plates menu that's perfect for sharing. Awesome atmosphere and amazing staff! 2024- Back again and this time I had the pork and crawfish dumplings and also the meatballs to start. For my main I went with the ribeye and I have to be completely honest this might be the best tasting ribeye that I have ever had at a restaurant. This thing was cooked to perfection, very flavorful and seasoned amazingly! This place never disappoints and is always firing on all cylinders. My bartender was Layla and she provided absolutely phenomenal service. Hopefully you are lucky enough to have the same experience with her and this restaurant. Just come eat here and thank me later!
I had the pleasure of dining at Meril in the vibrant Warehouse District of New Orleans, just a short stroll from the historic French Quarter, and I must say it was a culinary delight! From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the chic and modern ambiance. The staff was incredibly welcoming, making us feel right at home and the menu at Meril is a culinary masterpiece, offering a diverse selection of dishes that beautifully blend flavors and ingredients. What truly sets Meril apart is their commitment to innovation. The creative cocktails and appetizers showcased the culinary team's talent and passion. The wine list is extensive, offering the perfect pairings for every dish. Whether you're a seafood enthusiast or a vegetarian, Meril caters to all tastes with its wide range of options. The restaurant's modern decor and attentive service complement the exquisite food, creating an unforgettable dining experience. I can't recommend Meril enough; it's a must-visit when in New Orleans, and I can't wait to return for another remarkable culinary adventure.
Had a great early dinner, we sat at the bar and had some wonderful cocktails and fish spread with fried saltines. Went for the short ribs but they were off the menu so we got the pork ribs which were great. Amberjack was on the menu and did not disappoint. We also ordered 2 pasta dishes which were excellent
YESSSSS this place delivered. We opted to stay near our hotel to eat and we were not disappointed. The wait staff - Ashley and Darrel- were top notch. They made great recommendations, were attentive and smiled nonstop. It was fun to sit near the kitchen and see the chefs at work. The food was delish - we ordered a few things to share. Will definitely visit again!
Meril, Meril how I love you This is one of our favorite spots to go for date night or just meeting some friends for dinner and delicious cocktails. Service is always top-notch. We usually have a main waiter and then someone assisting with the table. But don't take that as a stuffy, uppity place to be, it's very casual and nice to have servers taking care of the table all throughout the meals. Apps: we decided to make a meal out of appetizers, and we kind of went overboard. Definitely small plates but big enough to share with leftovers if you do it right. We decided to order appetizers and make that our meal. We chose the Bacon Braised Collard Greens from the daily specials. We also chose Smoked Fish Dip, Crispy Cod Sliders, Deviled Eggs, Korean Fried Chicken Wings and Pad Thai Cauliflower For cocktails we started with English Turn(grapefruit but not sour), Tchoup(cucumber deliciousness) and Albariño(smooth white wine). All so good! It was also our 11 year anniversary and they surprised us with some cotton candy and a sparkler! Perfection!
Best meal I had in NO last week. I had crayfish and crab cakes with a delicious chow chow and a Drum in one of the best meuniere sauces I ever had! I didn’t have room for desserts but I’ll definitely be back to try them! My only knock on atmosphere was because of the outside and few people lingering around.
I understand why this place is so popular! The place is beautiful and a great atmosphere. Brittany, our server, was amazing. The food was incredible. I had the heirloom carrots, corn and meatballs and my friend had the fettuccine Nero and a flatbread and it was all phenomenal. We also had the coffee/chocolate crème brûlée which I loved. I have zero complaints about this place. We were stuffed and happy at the end. I also had a bourbon on broad and that was delicious as well.
Consistently great! Meril is such a classy and current spot that is great for occasion meals. This place always has great service and handle large parties very well. I’ve visited with a few as 2 people and as many as 17. The menu offers modern dishes of small plates, main plates and sides. As a vegetarian, I enjoyed the vegetable flatbread and the vegetable sides. If it’s your birthday or celebrating something special, the cotton candy is such a treat!
I was pleasantly surprised with food and service. I tried the Korean chicken wings and they had an interesting funk to them like they were dry aged. I thought it was delicious but it was a little too unique for my friend dining with me and it didnt mention anything on the menu. He did enjoy everything he ordered though. We ordered a lot of shareable because that's what the server recommended.
When I tell y’all!!!! This place is TOP NOTCH, JUST GO! Best food in New Orleans after 5 days. Service: our waiters were young BUT VERY WELL POLISHED, POLITE and exceeded expectations! Pure southern hospitality and fast! Food: I’ll fly back with my family just for a meal 😎it’s that good! We were even given a sweet treat, the Sparkling COTTON CANDY as a thank you for stoping in!
Weekend dinner, party of 6 with reservations, arrived 12 mins early and had zero wait. Staff was welcoming and attentive. You can tell the staff enjoys working here and they are treated as a team. The food was amazing! We ordered multiple tapas plates and shared between the tables. Everyone loved the food and the environment. Great place for a group gathering, food was remarkable, and the staff were the best! Highly recommend.
Did something I never do, went to the restaurant without a reservation. There was ample seating at the bar. The dips were delicious. The wings were delicious as well. I wouldn’t order the deviled eggs again but they weren’t bad. The bartender was attentive. I wish there was online ordering because I would have picked up an order or two to go.
We went for Nola's Restaurant Week, although we ordered straight from the menu! So many great choices of small, sharable plates! Food was excellent; the only part of the service that wasn't was the slow delivery of drinks (bar needs a server if it's going to be located on the other side of the space from dining).
Went there last night on my birthday. Loved the atmosphere and vibes of this place. I am a vegetarian and there were slightly less options for vegetarian than non- vegetarian options. Loved the food, all the vegetarian dishes i ordered were delicious and flavorful. Loved the street corn, the pasta and the flatbread. The server and the staff were super friendly. Prices were reasonable. They gave a fluff of cotton candy and a lit sparkler in the end for my birthday. Would love to dine in again here.
Beautiful restaurant and polite servers, honestly I was a little surprised how casual everyone was especially the hostess, my wife and I were more dressed. We did enjoy everything we ordered, but I have to say I felt the main courses were lacking and could of had a bigger selection. We ended ordering more appetizers, and a pizza for dinner, where my wife and I always order two main courses. It was a little loud during our visit but they did have several large groups.
Such an awesome dining experience. Took my team out for dinner and had an excellent experience here for the first time. The service was top notch and food delivered on another level. The appetizers and entrees were very tasty. Would recommend the BBQ shrimp and deviled eggs and for entrees you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. We were assigned two servers and they were very attentive throughout our dining experience.
Stopped in for a drink and some happy hour snacks. This is an upscale establishment with an awesome selection of happy hour appetizers and wines. We chose the turkey necks and deviled eggs, both of which were delicious. The service was prompt and courteous, and the restaurant itself was clean and well-maintained. While the prices were a bit high, we found the overall experience to be well worth it.
Our uber driver who used to be a chef recommended Meril. We had an absolutely satisfying experience!! 1. Blue crab fettuccini: buttery, pinch of spiciness, fresh blue crab meat, excellent! 2. Clam flatbread: a mix of crispy side and soft center. Love it! 3. Brussel sprouts: big portion! sweet on the outside and crispy!
This place has a fairly casual vibe. We were jeans, but others were dressed up for holiday parties. Our servers were pleasant, and knowledge regarding all of the menu items. We started with the pocket bread, Korean chicken wings, and the meatballs. We had never seen pita bread prepared like this; it was very light and tasty. I'm not usually a fan of meatballs, but I must say these were delicious! The wings were not what I expected, but they were good. For some reason I thought they would be spicy, but they were not at all. Them we tried the Pineapple Upside-down Cornbread and the Wise Guy flatbread. Oh. My. Gosh!!! These 2 items were phenomenal! The candied bacon really complemented the cornbread. The spices on the flatbread were perfect. Yes, we plan to go here again.
Love the atmosphere, service and food! Their playlist amd outgoing servers give it a good vibe. Don't leave without trying the cornbread. The short ribs and brussel sprouts were very tasty and the wings were enjoyable.
A local friend brought a group of us here and asked the chef to bring us "whatever looked good". What followed was a parade of classics simplified and performed with flavors amped, personalized and served without flaw. It was the best meal I had in NOLA, including Muriel's, Brennan's, and some other stops. I especially loved the sauces on the prawns and the turkey necks. The cocktails were also beautifully executed.
I have eaten here twice. Once I was in the dining area and recently I ate at the bar. Both times, the food was really good. The service has always been great. The bartender who recently served us was working very hard. He was busy but still friendly and engaging. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a nice meal. Doesn't matter if it's a sit down meal or something casual at the bar. Check it out.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Meril – A Spirited Culinary Experience in the Warehouse District Dining at Meril is like stepping into Chef Emeril Lagasse’s personal kitchen—warm, lively, and full of bold flavors. Located in the heart of New Orleans’ Warehouse District, this restaurant blends casual elegance with a vibrant atmosphere, perfect for both intimate dinners and group gatherings. The open kitchen concept adds energy to the space, and the U-shaped bar invites you to linger over craft cocktails or a curated wine list. Standout dishes include the Korean Short Ribs, Deviled Eggs, and Rock Shrimp Tacos—each one a testament to Lagasse’s playful yet refined approach to comfort food. Service is attentive without being overbearing, and the staff clearly takes pride in delivering a memorable experience. Whether you’re there for brunch, happy hour, or a celebratory dinner, Meril delivers on all fronts: flavor, ambiance, and hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a taste of New Orleans with a modern twist.
La ensalada Griega es top! La sirven con un aderezo de orégano que le va super bien y el queso feta tiene muy buen sabor
Acogedor, muy agradable ambiente, deliciosa comida, es mejor reservar antes.
Muy buena comida y ambiente
We had a great time and meal with our son last night at Merkle. Our meal was wonderful (we shared small plates, including grouper, street corn, tuna and more. The server was terrific (I’m sorry, I don’t remember his name), but there is a postscript. Today I noticed my credit card from last night was missing. I called the restaurant and they did have it. Obviously the server found it and turned it over to management. I am very impressed with the food, service and honesty of this restaurant.
Ambiente refinado a la par que informal. Carta compuesta por platos de la cocina local y americana. Sabrosos. Con cocina abierta donde se ven los platos preparándose en todo momento. Servicio muy rápido y además siempre atentos a todas las mesas.
I found this place to have a really fun and lively atmosphere, which was perfect since this was the first place we visited in New Orleans. The menu ranged from from small starters to hearty plates, which allowed us to try a variety of dishes. We started with the deviled eggs, tuna lettuce wraps, in-house meatballs and ended with the braised lamb ragu pappadelle. We enjoyed everything for the most part, but were a little disappointed with the lamb ragu, which we found kind of bland. However, our meal ended with a pleasant surprise…. the cotton candy sparkler! I’d also add that service was consistently great from start to end, and we really enjoyed sitting at the counter witnessing the magic in the kitchen.
Went with a group of 12, a couple more than we had booked - the restaurant accommodated immediately. Drinks and appetizers were fantastic, but I was a little disappointed with my pasta - was rather bland. Presentation was good. Most of the others really liked their meals. Liked the vibe, but was a bit noisy…. Mind you were were probably the noisiest table of all. I would try again on my next visit, I heard the swordfish was AMAZING!
Fun casual small plates place from Emeril. First visit was dinner - busy! Second visit Saturday brunch - quiet! Fantastic flavors and creative dishes overall bottomless mimosas (what brunch should be) and the fried chicken and biscuit was phenomenal! The turtle soup roux was a little dark for my lining and soup was lukewarm, but good flavors overall. Runners at brunch seemed a bit annoyed to be there and literally pushed food at me and walked away w/o a word. Dinner lovely service with a couple of ladies helping us out. Menu and servers said food would come out as ready, but we got it all at once - some dishes weren’t hot and had clearly been waiting for the rest of our order before being served. We aggressively over ordered and were not warned by server - in fact she upside us on bread to dip into the tomato sauce with our meatballs. Took home food for another whole meal - would have been a problem if we had been staying at a hotel with no way to store/reheat leftovers.
Meril is a go to place for NOL dining with a nice selection of inventive dishes with Emeril flourish. It has an attractive decor and good lighting. On street parking and walking distance from most hotels in the city tourist area. We had the pocket bread while we perused the large menu of snacks, small plates, flatbread pizzas and entrees as well as an extensive wine list and beer selections. Try the pocket bread for a delightful surprise. For entrees we had flatbread pizzas and small plates and they were ok but not outstanding. They were not delivered in a timely fashion so not everyone got their meals at the same time. Service overall was slow and we were often waiting for something. Even getting the check was a chore and arrived only after we badgered several waitstaff. The restaurant is loud and conversation can be difficult. There were a few vegetarian options but not many. We had great expectations for this restaurant but sadly were disappointed. We give it three and one half clams on the coveted Five Quahog Rating Scale
A little bit of a mixed review, overall most things we tried were very good but a few misses for me. Nice atmosphere, we were seated near the open kitchen and it was nice to watch the chefs. The pocket bread was very interesting. Hard to explain its sort of like a very light puffed up pita. Tasty but the wow factor is the main draw. Shishito peppers were cooked well but a little under seasoned. The grilled corn may have been the best bite, crisp, seasoned well with tons of flavor. Chicken wings were good. The gnudi was a little disappointing. The server warned me it was a very small portion, but it also was a little one note. It did have pine nuts on it but the dish just ate a little soft and mushy. The fettuccine was very good. I don’t care for truffle flavored food but the truffle wasn’t overpowering, we also added chicken to it. The beef short ribs are a tie for best bite. Tons of flavor. Desserts were very pretty presentation but not memorable.
Sat at the bar. They two bartenders were great. Every options for libations was available. The boudin balls were the best I’ve had. The tuna wraps were good, but I’d skip next time. Had a cup of gumbo that was ok. Was expecting the gumbo to knock my socks off but feel it lacked the depth of flavor a good rue delivers. Either way, I’d go back and try more food.
Food was excellent!! Shrimp tacos are amazing! Scallops melted in your mouth! Flatbreads were thin yet crispy!!!! Meatballs were delicious!!! Service was great for our table of 10!!!!!! People at the bar can be loud but they come and go!! Great place for romantic dinner or birthday celebration!! Also very pricey!!
Shocked. Ordered a burger and added a order of fries. Ordered fettuccine and added chicken. Burger had nothing on it but cheese. Fettuccine order size for price was absurdly small. And the addition of chicken doubled tbe cost to that item. The other items were inconsequential to the price. Biggest complaint was the total cost, seconded by the quality of food. Nothing else to say. See photos for reference. Review receipt as needed.
Before ordering we were told that the Chef was a 2 Star Michelin Chef. We Ordered the Wise Guy flatbread pizza and the Candied Ribs. The pizza was amazing- the spiciness was wonderful , the ribs were “just” ok. Desert was an apple pie with salted caramel ice cream. Unfortunately the apple pie 🥧 had no flavor at all. Which was a let down. The service was great and the restaurant is lovely inside. We would still go back and Definitely worth a visit.
Happy to get a table on a very busy night. We ordered a bunch of small plates. Highlights were the Brussels sprouts and the king cake tres leches. The Korean chicken wings were tasty but very messy to eat. We ordered shrimp tacos but they never made it to the table due to a "miscommunication with the kitchen ". Atmosphere was loud with no less than 4 birthday celebrations complete with pyrotechnic cotton candy marching through the restaurant. Overall I would go back.
Food was really good! I ordered the general tso’s broccoli and truffle fries. Really enjoyed it. They were out of pretty much everything I wanted and there were 13 birthdays being celebrated (as well as my friends), so by the time it was our table’s turn, they were out of the birthday treat. 🙃 Would recommend and might still come back again, if I ever come back to NOLA.
Local muy concurrido con merecimientos
Muy bueno
Well, I had to try it! After all who doesn’t have some memory of Emeril from the Food Channel. A legacy of nostalgia and quirks and comedy! I definitely was disappointed in the meal and the service (which is not often the case). We usually get so lucky and get great service; even in the face of poor cuisine. The thing is, it’s not difficult to make good food! If you pay your employees well, if you work hard to manage and set an example, boom; good food… Service-So we booked a 7:45 pm seat for 4, and to our surprise they closed at 8, only fifteen minutes later. We sort of wondered why they allowed reservations so close to close. Our server made us very much aware of that fact and a closing kitchen, despite there being a good deal of tables remaining without food. We’ve often found many quality food stops to allow late reservations and they seat an entire floor of new patrons before close and then serve the house and allow no further seats. We had to order appetizers and wine and everything at once and quickly, and we were definitely rushed, server, busser, those clearing tables etc. It was our final evening in New Orleans and it was Mardi Gras; so there was no place else remotely available with an extra table, the city was packed! Food-I'm not sure the food was worthy of the New Orleans Southern name and culture. Food came fast and often 2 dimensional. For example the brussel sprouts were soggy and unsalted and absolutely flavorless. The French fries or the hand cut fries were also soggy and over saturated in oil. The deviled gags were tart and plain and thin batter if you will, needing texture and dimension; a word I use a lot! The pineapple upside down cornbread was ordered twice between our two parties and one was barren of its sauce and dressings and the other ample. Elite corn was good, because it was rich and savory. The cornbread itself was okay. The Korean wings were a good texture albeit drowned in sauce. It was just dressed up casual food that isn’t reflective in quality for the price and rushed and under managed. I am not hard to impress! Just simple and good food, it can be achieved! I often find the culprit of poor dining experience is as usual the sharp blade or perhaps dull, of quantity over quality. I’ve eaten and multiple of Gordon Ramsays restaurants, to give nod to another celebrity chef experience, even with his rigorous standards on service the food was only “not bad”, but plenty to celebrate. At this restaurant I’d find it hard to believe it can be redeemed.
Beautiful ambiance, great staff, food is presented beautifully. However… my fish was over cooked, my steak was extremely salty and my coke was stale, I know, I know, it’s Emeril’s, believe me I wanted to absolutely love everything and the apps that we ordered were pretty good but didn’t love the gumbo and over all though it was a beautiful dinner location, Some of off the food was disappointing. Honest opinion.
Vegetarian perspective Overall pretty corporate feeling restaurant and mid food. Pineapple upsidedown cornbread (we got without bacon to make vegetarian) sounded SO good but was pretty dry. Pasta was good. The banana cream pie everyone raves about was pretty one note to me, just sweet. I've had better, with added crunch, salt, something! Waitstaff was super nice
our experience was just ok. cornbread was good but dry, dumplings were fire, meatballs were not very tender but the "spicy" pasta straight up wasn't good. it was like they ran out of caramelized onion and spice so they tried to wing it. came off as very chef boyardee imo. there's deff better places to eat in this neighborhood.
Huge disappointment. Service not great. Perhaps because the noise level is so loud, the server couldn’t hear some of our requests, like ice in the water and dressing on the side. But when your salad comes dressed, and instead of apologizing, the server says, “oh, you wanted it on the side?” That is not good customer service. The deviled eggs were tasty but such a poor presentation, as they were served on their sides. The cornbread was so confused and inedible. A huge glob of cloyingly sweet sauce over dry tasteless cornbread. The spicy pasta was not spicy, and the sauce tasted like canned Chef Boyardee. For the turkey necks, which were so bony (nothing like the amazing ones at Toups Meatery—go there in Mid-City), but I asked for the Crystal mojo on the side thinking that’s where the best would be, but they were so spicy, I couldn’t enjoy them. The strawberry salad was fresh and nice, once it came back with the dressing on the side. We were so unsatisfied with this meal, we went to get king cake at Rouse’s Market for dessert. Didn’t want to risk another bad plate.
We dined at Meril in New Orleans during our summer travels. The atmosphere was vibrant and lively, which created a fun vibe, but it did get quite noisy at times. To start, we ordered a few cocktails, the watermelon salad, and the ribs as appetizers. We also had the upside-down cornbread, which unfortunately arrived quite late—actually after the mains had already come out. For our main courses, I had the market fish and my husband had the ribeye. The fish was completely undercooked, and when I mentioned this to our server, he said he would let the manager know, but unfortunately no one ever followed up or addressed it, so I basically just ended up not eating it, which was highly disappointing. On top of that, the service experience was quite confusing. We had multiple waiters switching during the meal, which made things feel a bit disjointed and didn’t help the flow of the dinner at all. Overall, Meril has a fun atmosphere and some creative dishes, but the execution of the food and the service coordination left to be desired.
I’ve been to Merils before, and I did enjoy it. Unfortunately today was not the case. It was a special occasion and I was celebrating my 21st birthday with friends. My sister preordered appetizers and drinks for the table and it was confirmed with the hostess when we arrived, and I also reiterated to the server when we sat. We sat for 40 minutes waiting and it felt like our server was avoiding us, and taking care of other guests who came after us while we sat there. I had to get up and walk up to the server station and let them know that we had been waiting and that we never got any of our appetizers or drinks. They said they would work on it, and 15 minutes later they finally came and told us they didn’t know about the ticket and that they were working on it, one of the servers also told us there would be some sort of refund due to the error. Again we sat and the serve bringing our wine came back 2 times and asked for our id’s which I didn’t understand, because I already showed him the first time. At this point it had now been an hour when we finally got our bottle and appetizers, the bottle wasn’t what my sister preordered ( they ran out). One of my guests ended up having to replace her glass because it was dirty. Now by the time me and my guests got our appetizers we had lost our appetites and were ready to go. We barely ate, and were now irritated, and now the servers that we’re ignoring/avoiding us wanted to check on us every 5 minutes those 40 minutes wait. We got my cotton candy and to-go boxes and left. This has had to be the worst service I have ever had, and also disappointing, because not only have I been working as a server for the past 4 years but I have eaten here before so this was just a terrible experience, and all sad that it happened the day I’m celebrating my birthday. They also charged the full amount to the card without any discount or refund.
Portions were extremely small. Cornbread was a single corn muffin. Crab linguine was Wish pasta . Small pasta potion and wish you had some crab meat. Candied ribs were very tasty but a small portion. Boudin balls were very tasty but very small. Pocket bread was a large piece of air with a crust on it . Overall a disappointment. If it was not in New Orleans , it would eventually be empty because no one would return for a 2nd visit . Staff was nice and friendly.
We were hyped to try one of the Meril’s restaurant but left kinda disappointed. Food was ok, lack in presentation and cold (which we sent back and came out fast, so that helped a bit), very peppery that overpowered some of the other flavours. Beside that, service was the part we didn’t like. Not very friendly staff, all wearing different clothes (even ripped jeans and camouflage), the manager stopped once just to drop the food and not to check on us after we’ve sent the food back. It felt more like a mom and pop restaurant with higher quality food. Also no explanation of the food when it was dropped. I’d go back to try other items on the menu but this visit was disappointing. Also the spicy margarita lacked flavour….no tequila notes at all. I feel, although we enjoy the decor and appreciate the high class glassware and crockery you would benefit from some more soft furnishings to help with the noise.
While the cuisine itself was excellent and clearly well-prepared, the overall experience was unfortunately overshadowed by exceptionally poor customer service. The staff lacked warmth and professionalism, which significantly detracted from what could have been an enjoyable dining experience. Regrettably, due to the subpar service, I would recommend exploring other establishments.
im going to be very honest. im someone whos easily impressed, and this did not impress me. super small menu, random selection. my friend got the buttermilk chicken and considering we arein new orleans the chicken was subpar. i got the fettucine and i didnt finish it. also dont bother with the street corn- its off the cob… regardless the service was good and the atmosphere was nice but super mediocre food. wont be back:(
While on vacation, we decided to dine here, hoping for a pleasant experience. Although the food itself was good, the service was deeply disappointing. The staff came across as cold and rude, making us feel more like an inconvenience than valued guests! Especially surprising given that the restaurant was nearly empty at the time.I should have taken that as a sign. Hospitality should be a priority in any establishment, and unfortunately, that was clearly lacking here. I would strongly recommend that management consider hiring staff who genuinely want to be there and understand the importance of customer service.
