Upscale feel for great happy hour prices at the bar. This Italian-Asian fusion restaurant offers a great atmosphere for a date night and can also be a more semi casual after work spot at the bar with great views. The restaurant can be quite pricey but they have one of the best happy hours from 12-6pm and you can always find a spot The fried calamari from the happy hour menu is delicious, as well as the lychee Martini This place made it to my favorite list.
Aqua was absolutely amazing! The food was outstanding—beautifully presented, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. Every dish exceeded expectations. From the moment we arrived, the experience was amazing; the service was warm, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. The atmosphere tied it all together—stylish, vibrant, and perfect for a memorable night out. Can’t wait to come back!
At Aquaroma, you can even order Japanese dishes from AquaTokyo, which makes the whole experience way more fun because you get to try a wide range of flavors in one place. Honestly, every dish we tried was excellent—no misses at all. What really stood out was the food-serving performance. It felt more like a show than just a meal, and it kept everyone entertained. The place was packed and pretty loud, but that lively, buzzing energy actually made the dinner even more exciting. If you enjoy great food with a fun, high-energy vibe, this spot totally delivers.
We had such a fun night at Aqua Roma! We ordered the spicy tuna roll and a lychee martini, and both were delicious. The spicy tuna roll was fresh, flavorful, and had just the right amount of heat without overpowering the fish. You can really taste the quality. The lychee martini was light, slightly sweet, and perfectly balanced — super refreshing and easy to sip. It paired really well with the sushi. The ambiance is definitely lively and upscale — more of a vibe than a quiet dinner spot — which made it feel perfect for a date night or girls’ night out. Service was attentive, and the presentation of everything felt elevated.
An exceptional dining experience. The sushi was exquisite, the pasta perfectly executed, and the zucchini surprisingly delicious. The cocktails were outstanding. The dessert was truly unforgettable — refined, creative, and absolutely delicious. A beautifully designed, spacious restaurant with an upscale atmosphere. Highly recommended.
I came here for my sisters birthday (december 23rd) and I honestly loved the food! The only thing I did not like was the chocolate dessert BUT i kindly asked for an exchange since we barely tried it and server didn’t want to do it “apparently we ate more than half of it” which doesn’t make sense since of course we were three people trying it,anyways so I went to the manager, who unfortunately I do not remember his name but he was very nice and he did the exchange! No buts no questions, runner was also very kind and we got greeted by the hostess!. And drinks were good! I got a moscow mule and their lychee martini, that was good too! Restaurant is huge,so I would say is great for big events or maybe even happy hours at the bar, which is so cute too. My only suggestion is to change the type of chocolate on that dessert and maybe instead of charging extra for the bread basket, they should give it as a free side whenever you order pasta. Just a thought!
The food was delicious🍴, and the place is very Instagrammable 📸🤳. The bar design is absolutely beautiful. Dessert was my favorite part, and our server was very sweet. Loved the experience!
Two Incredible Restaurants in One Stunning Spot! Aqua New York is a must try for an upscale dining experience in Flatiron. It houses both Aqua Kyoto (Japanese) and Aqua Roma (Italian), and you can order from both menus! The ambiance is absolutely stunning sleek, dramatic, and perfect for a date night or celebration. From Aqua Kyoto, the Wagyu Ribeye cooked tableside on a hot stone was pure theatre and absolutely delicious. The Seafood Fried Rice was rich with umami and high-quality ingredients. On the Italian side, the sliced steak was perfectly cooked, paired beautifully with a vibrant chimichurri. Everything was high-quality and beautifully presented. Come here when you want spectacular food and an unforgettable atmosphere!
I don’t remember how I found out about this brunch, but the moment I saw the menu online - I knew I am coming here on my next trip to NYC. The place is beautiful! The food was very delicious! We had okonomiyaki as a main dish - it was delicious! I loved the dessert plate - it had a good combination of fruits and sorbet and candies. It’s beautiful and upscale place! Next time I want to go to sushi part specifically as it looked neat.
I’m totally stuffed from their brunch set, such a good deal! The New England lobster roll was incredible, service was great too. Shoutout to Sydney, you’re awesome :)
The ambiance here was awesome from the moment we walked in. The bar area really stood out, especially with the huge Christmas tree setting the vibe. We did get seated about 15 minutes after our reservation, which wasn’t ideal, but everything after that was great. Service was attentive, the food was excellent, and we ordered the sea bass which was a 10 out of 10. The seafood fried rice was just as good. Overall, a really enjoyable experience.
🍸We stopped in because the rope sculpture around the bar caught my eye—such a striking detail. The place has a very upscale, high-class vibe and was impeccably clean. We’d already eaten, but decided to stay for a drink. Their alcohol selection is impressive, with a wide variety to choose from. Happy hour runs from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., which is a generous window if you're looking to unwind. If we’d been hungry, we definitely would’ve tried some of the bar food—it looked delicious 😋
Had a delicious brunch at Aqua Roma. Mixing flavours of Italian food and Japanese food perfectly. I picked the brunch on broadway and chose to have a pizza as a main. The dessert platter completed brunch perfectly. We paired food with a few cocktails on the menu. Service was impeccable. All around a great experience and also a great deal! I recommend highly
Aqua has such a beautiful decor — really elegant! The food was absolutely delicious, with the standout being the Japanese pancake. Service was wonderful too; they even surprised us with complimentary prosecco, which was such a nice touch. The only downside was the lack of vegan dessert options, though the brunch menu does offer several vegan choices. Overall, a lovely spot and I’ll definitely be back!
I visited Aqua during Restaurant Week and was absolutely impressed by the atmosphere. The space is stunning—huge, beautifully designed, elegant yet cozy, and very romantic. It really feels like a place made for special nights out or even just to enjoy the stylish setting. The Restaurant Week menu was fine, but not as memorable as the ambiance. The dishes were decent, but nothing really stood out. That said, I would definitely come back to try the regular menu because the overall vibe and design of the restaurant are worth experiencing again. Service was a little bit slow, especially check out, we wait like 30min… and asked them 3-4 times….
amazing service and food was delicious! very happy we could order from both their menus. best sushi i’ve had and it was very fresh. the recommendations from the servers was astounding. forest floor dessert is a must try.
I absolutely loved it! It’s an Asian/Italian fusion restaurant and neither side is lacking. Both the Asian and Italian food was 10/10!! It’s the best miso soup I ever had in my life! And the staff was amazing too, Santiago was our waiter he was the best! And everyone was so attentive and friendly. I had a great experience at Aqua! I will definitely come back.
The second visit to this place did not disappoint.. just as the first visit. Great brunch, tasty food, terrific service. We had a voucher from Pulsd and it was totally worth it. But we will definitely return without the voucher.
This is one of the best looking interiors for a bar restaurant in flatiron. The space is huge! The menu is a perfect mix of Italian dishes and Japanese cuisine. We loved the bar area with plentiful seating and delicious cocktails. 🍸.
Enjoyed lunch time in a spacious and beautiful space. The food was as delicious and delicate as if I were in Japan and I really enjoyed it! Such a luxurious space made the meal even more delicious! I would love to go back.
The first time I visited Aqua was with two of my SGI leaders, and we had a wonderful time! The atmosphere was vibrant, the food was absolutely delectable, and the drinks were just as impressive. I enjoyed it so much that I returned soon after with my boyfriend for our weekly date night—and it did not disappoint! I would highly recommend Aqua to friends, colleagues, or anyone looking for a great spot for date night. It’s definitely a place worth revisiting!
Aqua New York brings together the best of Aqua Kyoto and Aqua Roma offering a fusion of contemporary Japanese and Italian cuisines right in the heart of the Flatiron District. The atmosphere is grand and luxurious perfect for those looking to dress up and dine in style. One of the standout experiences is their Brunch on Broadway. Expect generous portions, bold flavors, and an unbeatable value. For just $25 more, you can indulge in unlimited sushi, so definitely come with an appetite. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are happy to recommend the perfect alcohol pairings to complement your meal. Whether you’re celebrating or just treating yourself, Aqua is an excellent choice for your next unforgettable dining experience.
My first time i went to Aqua was for my birthday and I went for dinner and their food is amazing and then I went today for Brunch and Aqua has everything quality ,good costumer service and delicious and good quality food .No complain 🙌🏽Try their brunch ,they are not expensive for all that quality and amount of food .If you’re not drinking alcohol one of their best mocktail is Paloma Zero 10/10 .Aqua’s brunch is $59 bucks but remember drinks is not included or any additional sides you want to add .Must try Aqua’s brunch .
Absolutely wonderful place! The food was truly amazing — every dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. Special thanks to the staff — the service was outstanding: very friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made our evening even more enjoyable. The only small downside was that the food took a bit longer to arrive than expected because the kitchen was busy with a banquet. But honestly, it was well worth the wait — everything tasted fantastic. We will definitely be coming back to try something new!
My colleague and I, we met at Aqua for a nice after work cocktail and dinner. We both really enjoyed our experience. Everyone was nice and particularly our server. The drinks and food were excellent. We had the rice dish and the sashimi platter. Big plus: the ambiance was super!
The quantity of food was underwhelming but it's "pinky out" kind of meals. So I guess it's fine. I didn't get any photos or videos of my sushi, it was plated beautifully though.
Such a fun new place!!!!! It’s very sexy and over the top without being tacky. My girlfriend and I came for a fun Friday night dinner and we were immediately accommodated to move from dining room seating to the bar. Our bartender Paul made sure we had everything we needed and even accommodated to my friend’s gluten allergy. This is an environment where you can throw a party, a corporate dinner, take your family or impress a date. The food was delicious but I still need to try the sushi. :)
Very upscale vibe. We got the prix fixe and found it to be lovely! We love this Italian Japanese fusion. Somehow, it just works. Excellent date night.
NYC’s Most Romantic Japanese-Italian Fusion Spot‼️ Visited Aqua New York in Flatiron and it’s absolutely stunning ✨. The restaurant spans two floors with soaring ceilings, creating such a grand vibe. The Aqua Spirit Bar in the center features a rope-art ceiling installation — modern, chic, and perfect for date nights!
Recently went to Aqua’s new location and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The ambiance was amazing as it was dimly lit for dinner and I made sure to have early reservations to ensure that we’d have our seats secured- (party of 2). We were greeted at the door, waited a few minutes for the hostess to have someone available to seat us. The nets surrounding the bar were definitely a sight to see, it made the space more exciting. Once at the table, we were able to peruse the menu and pleased at the options available- especially for me as I’m mostly vegetarian. All of the food was delicious and wonderfully presented- not to mention how quick the service was. It was also great incentive to have mixed menus to choose from & we surely did order from both Roma & Kyoto menus. We opted to have our food brought out as each dish was ready, though we probably could’ve had everything brought at once. It was a great experience and we’re already looking forward to returning another time to return for brunch/ lunch. Last but not least, the staff were great - as expected, extremely attentive yet not overbearing by any means. The food also came much quicker than we anticipated! All in all it was a great experience and we will absolutely be recommending Aqua to our close friends.
What a Grand establishment! Now this is a must visit restaurant especially on the weekend, they have a DJ . I enjoy their food and the ambience of the restaurant. i’ll definitely go there again.
A fun restaurant with a great selection of quality authentic food with a couple interesting spins. I would strongly suggest this restaurant for medium to big parties, there’s energetic music, and the energy is quite intense so a perfect place for company dinners l, birthday parties and so on. The food is mainly thought to be sharing so this also makes it a perfect opportunity to try many things when you’re in a bigger group. The one thing I found a little negative was that some of the staff wasn’t completely knowledgeable about the dishes, but it didn’t effect the total rating especially if we keep in mind that the restaurant opened very recently and some of the staff might be new and still learning so this took a pass.
They have it all - a huge space for parties, amazing drinks including NA options, solid wifi, kind and thoughtful staff. Would come back for happy hour. FYI I came on a Wednesday around 3pm with a friend and there was no wait at all. Surprised how empty it was knowing they opened 7 months ago. Seems like a hidden gem to me 🙂
Aqua New York was absolutely incredible! I took a chance reserving for a valentines day brunch! It was absolutely perfect, and magical! The food was delicious, the staff and management were friendly and went out of there way to make sure we really enjoyed out visit! This is now one of our favorite couple go to spots and are looking forward to our next visit! They really pay attention to all the details at Aqua! They also have dinner and entertainment on the weekends! Book in advance to avoid not getting a reservation. It was the first time in a long time that i found a place that delivered more than i imagined! 10 out of 10!
Aqua is a very large and beautiful space, with different areas like Aqua Room and Aqua fusion . It’s spacious and can definitely accommodate large parties, which is a plus. The staff was polite, and the overall atmosphere is nice. That said, the experience was just okay. The food is fusion-style (Japanese-inspired), but nothing stood out. The drinks were fine, and the lobster roll was actually very good. Everything else was average. Unfortunately, the service was not great. When we asked what was going on, the server mentioned that another server didn’t show up for work, which clearly affected the service. While that’s understandable, it still impacted our experience. Overall, I’d rate it about a 5–6 out of 10. Beautiful space, okay food and drinks, but poor service. Probably good for a large group if staffing is better, but I wouldn’t go back based on our experience.
Saw the brunch special and was captivated by the presentation (on social media) Upon arrival the interior design was nice, with a large interior dining area. It was a preset menu besides the entree (which has a good selection) we went with the lobster roll and the truffle pizza which was delicious definitely recommend. The sushi platter and fruit platter lived up to the presentation, esthetics 10/10 and fresh. Only issue I had was with organization of service, when the sushi platter arrived, condiments didn't arrive with it, and when we finished the platter, the condiments arrived, besides that everything else was great.
First proper meal during my 2 week stay. I was walking around with no particular destination looking for 2 things: 1 a tattoo spot and somewhere to eat before getting a tattoo. I was right across the street at the very moment before I hit hangry vibes. I looked across and saw their giant front door so I decided to mosey over. It was a vibe in there. Bless their ac for blasting at full setting. It was hotter than hell outside. I was told the bar was open so I took an empty spot that overlooks the main dining area. One of the bartenders came over to take my drink and food order. He came back a couple minutes later to confirm my drink and get my food order again since he forgot what I had asked for. There were 3 other couples dining at the bar area, but we had way more than enough space separating us that we didn’t have to make small talk. My drinks (2) were super refreshing. I started off with the spritz and ended with the red flag. The salt in the second drink was such a nice touch. The spicy tuna was great. And it was included in the happy hour menu. As was the arancini that came first.
Nice elegant restaurant. Big space. Food was delicious, everything we had was amazing.we tried the summer restaurant week menu, the menu was easy to read (main menu was confusing) Service/ staff was great Johnuel was very attentive, and greeted us to a delicious drink to celebrate our anniversary The atmosphere/ setting is nice the bar area is big, so is the restaurant. Not crowed or loud but lights were very very very low(hard to read the menu, and the bathroom steps)
This is a huge restaurant! The decor was eye popping and I’m glad I went. They actually had a crowd on a rainy Wednesday night in Manhattan. The music was starting to go so don’t plan on a quiet night. I liked the food but didn’t love it. But let’s all agree that the presentation was beautiful. I live on the same block down the street but I won’t come again. We ordered from the Japanese side of the menu and I just feel that $100 a head with two drinks for 4 people and no desert or coffee was nuts. My wife’s fish was $51 and a small order of white rice was $8! No veggies on the side. Please! The service was good too although the waiter seemed very interested in selling us rice that cost $50. Come here on a weekend night if you want an experience but I’m going elsewhere
Beautiful restaurant! I went on a Saturday and they had a dj there. The portions are a bit small and note that some items on the menu are a bit pricy. The food was delicious and thankfully I don’t have the biggest appetite so it filled me up. Dessert was pretty good too and very unique. Especially the sweet caviar! I might go back again to try one of the expensive sushi rolls and see if it’s worth it 😆.
Aqua Roma was fine, but underwhelming. We shared several appetizers for the table: shishito peppers, one pizza, and tempura vegetables. All of them were very small portions and pretty average in quality. The pizza in particular was so small that we had to order another one, and our waitress did not warn us about the portion size when we ordered. Drinks were fine. The main dishes tasted good, nothing special, but perfectly adequate. The biggest issue was the service. The restaurant is huge and clearly understaffed. It was extremely hard to get our waitress’s attention, and she did not check in regularly. Even when we did manage to flag her down, everything moved very slowly. We were there for almost three hours total, including a 20 minute wait for a table despite having a reservation. The hostess was also quite unfriendly, which did not help the first impression. The space itself feels like a Vegas Strip restaurant: large, flashy, and impersonal. That said, I did appreciate that the music was not too loud, which made conversation easy. Overall, not terrible, but not somewhere I would rush back to.
I had a Pulsd voucher for bottomless brunch here ($118 for 2 people) so a friend and I visited on Saturday. The space is huge and the decor is lovely. The amount of food on the brunch menu is generous. You start with 3 appetizers each for the table to share (we had rock shrimp, arancini and bruschetta). You then get a sushi platter, a main course each and dessert. I went for the lobster roll ($10 extra charge) and my friend went for the Benedict for our mains. Unfortunately although there is a lot of food the quality just wasn’t there for us. Most of the appetizers were a bust (although the shrimp was nice), the sushi was very average and my friend said that her Benedict was like mush. My lobster roll was good though, and the filling was generous. We did the bottomless brunch and went for the rose. In 90 minutes our drinks were topped up twice, whichever as extremely disappointing for the price. I actually spent 20 minutes with no drink at all (either wine or water) and didn’t see a staff member that I could ask for a top up. My final point is the service. Although there staff themselves are very friendly the service is extremely slow. We were there for 2.5 hours in total and never even had dessert as we were full. I hate being rushed for my meal so don’t mine slower service, but with the lack of drink top up as well it was just a little disappointing. All in all I don’t think I would return. This is in an area where there are a lot of nice spots and I just think I would rather try somewhere else than return here.
I had my birthday dinner at this restaurant and I will say that the food was great and it was stunning inside the establishment. I don’t agree with the portion sizes for the price we paid and I’m specifically speaking in regards to the pasta, mashed potatoes and broccolini. I was super disappointed and shocked at how small the portion sizes were! Now when it gets to service, the lady who was our server was not attentive to our table. It seemed like she was more attentive to the guests that she personally knew. Also, a few of my friends told her that it was my birthday so that the complimentary birthday sparklers can come out. This did not happen and it was super embarrassing for our desserts to come out as if it were a regular dinner. I feel like if it’s an occasion, the servers should attend to the occasion because these are memories that are made in the restaurant at that moment and it was completely ruined. She did not even make up for it by offering anything. So for this, I have to give this restaurant 2 stars.
This was the only time I’ve ever refused to leave a tip in New York. The service at this restaurant was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful from start to finish. When we ordered tea, the waiter didn’t even ask which kind we wanted — he just chose one himself. When we asked about it, he argued that since we hadn’t specified earlier, he picked what he thought was fine. The same careless attitude continued throughout the meal. I told both the waiter and the manager several times that it was my friend’s birthday and that the dessert was meant to be his birthday cake, asking if they could bring it out promptly. No one followed up or showed any care about it. Ironically, the waiter only became attentive after we finished the cake — constantly coming over to rush us to pay the bill. The whole experience felt uncomfortable and dismissive, as if we weren’t treated with the same respect or attention as other guests. The food itself was also mediocre and definitely not worth the price. This is my honest experience, and I hope it helps others make an informed decision before visiting.
Food:Very Salty, like someone just dumped a handful of salt on every dish we ordered. Service: Our Server was rude and I didnt like his attitude he was giving us the whole time, thankfully his assistant was kind. Atmosphere: its nice. Overall I would not recommend this place, unless you are just here for vibes.
The service was exceedingly disappointing, and most of the food we ordered was overly salty. We visited with the expectation of enjoying a pleasant experience; however, we felt dissatisfied. The individual who took our order was quite impolite and unaccommodating.
Absolutely terrible experience. The service was blatantly rude and disrespectful, and the food was so salty it was almost inedible. We came to celebrate with friends, and instead our servers attitude and horrible service completely ruined the night. For a restaurant that claims to be upscale, this was embarrassing. We dined in during dinner time, February 10 and we’re a group of 10. Total waste of time and money. Never coming back.
Ordered the Calamari, too salty. Tried the Tagliata Di Manzo steak, undercooked and unseasoned. The Mafalde pasta arrived on a dirty plate and the portion size was disappointing. This was my second visit to this place and I’ll definitely not be coming again.
We recently dined at your restaurant and wanted to provide some feedback. I don’t usually giving bad reviews but the night we came to celebrate our friend’s birthday and Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing by the rude staff member who took our order, who seemed to be supervisor or captain since he’s wearing suit and tie, he’s unprofessional and seemed completely untrained. However, we found several dishes to be overly salty, including the miso soup, vegetables fried rice, and mushroom pizza. Despite all of these, our server was attentive and provided excellent service. On a positive note, the ambience was pleasant, spacious and inviting. We hope you'll consider addressing the issues, to enhance the overall dining experience.
By far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Brought my friends here for valentines day. A dinner i had already prepaid for. Somehow they didn't mention the menu was a fixed menu when I made the reservation. I told the waiter I didn't know it was a fixed menu he responded " Well, you already paid for it". As if that was bad enough the food was terrible. it felt like I was eating sushi from the worst sushi restaurant i have ever been to. What I also found interesting was, the table was reserved for 3 but we were served as if it was just 2 of us. Please don't go to this restaurant no matter what. The ambiance is ok but it's NY, there's ambience everywhere. I will ensure that none of my friends, coworkers come here. The hostesses and the bartenders were great people. Other than that, it was Terrible and a waste of money.
