This is my second time at this wonderful tea house & it has been absolutely magical every time! Today, I returned with a good friend of mine and we absolutely enjoyed the Green Chai & scones. I also loved the Sencha with rose petals 🍵 Loved 💗 it so much that I ended up buying half a pound to take home and share it with my family and friends!
What a wonderful way to share mother daughter time. We were two moms and daughters. One group ordered the mad hatter and two others ordered afternoon tea. There is a $15 per person on Saturday and Sunday 10-3p but that is very easy to do. Lots of ladies groups and plenty of little girls dressed in fairy clothing. Delicious scones though I wish they served a little more clotted cream with them especially when you are ordering two. Loved the black fruit tea and enjoyed the whole experience. Han and cheese scone was for my savory side and the berry scone for my sweet side.
I had such a wonderful time at this Upper West Side classic! The food was delicious, but the tea was absolutely the highlight—so flavorful and comforting. I was pleasantly surprised by the serving size; one pot was incredibly generous and easily poured about 6 to 8 cups. Definitely a must-visit spot if you’re looking for a great tea experience!
Visited Alice’s Tea Cup with my sister today. We had the Madhatter (tea for two). We had the Alice Tea and the white champagne Raspberry tea. The Alice Tea is darker and smooth. The white champagne raspberry tea is light and fruity body. We glad we tried such contrast combinations. The tower came with cakes but we decide to have fruits instead of cake (tried to save some calories for the scones. Haha). The whipped cream and jam combination was a perfect match with the scones. We picked the curry chicken and cucumber sandwiches. Very light and tasty, perfect with our teas. We loved the vibe in the tea house and enjoyed our teas, sandwiches and scones. Definitely will bring my families and friends to experience what we experienced today. Thank you Alice’s Tea Cup!!!!!!!
Such a cozy spot for British-style afternoon tea in NYC. Loved the three-tier stand with sandwiches, scones, fruit and pancakes, and the huge teapot to share. The décor is super whimsical – fairy wings on the wall, twinkle lights, and rows of tea tins behind the counter. Service was sweet and unhurried. Perfect place for a casual “high tea” date with friends.
This cute tea house is so cozy!!! The mural, antique pictures, tea cup, and tables make the space special and inviting. I was never a big fun of scones, -until I tried theirs! Now it's honestly my favorite scones ever!! My favorite tea is the White Champagne. The taste is mild, and the fragrance is so soothing that I feel like I could drink it forever! This welcoming little spot has quickly become one of my favorite places to relax. And you absolutely must try their afternoon tea- it's amazing!! Highly recommend!!!
What a hidden gem! If you blink as you’re walking down the street, you will miss it! This is a tiny little place where you can get a big experience! So sweet and whimsical. The food was absolutely delicious! Down the rabbit hole is a meal that has a pumpkin pancake, bacon, and scrambled eggs. I would never guess this combination made such a sweet and savory brunch! Do not skip on the scones… The strawberry and lemon glaze was amazing. Also got a slice of white cake with chocolate icing for a dessert later on tonight. I’m extremely optimistic that will be just as delicious as everything else I had today. Everyone here was so kind in the midst of a rush. Our server Andrew was just absolutely delightful! If you’re looking for a quiet spot, this isn’t it. This cute restaurant is quite noisy but absolutely worth it!! You’re missing out if you don’t try this place while you’re in New York. I’m so glad me and my daughter did!
Alice’s Tea Cup feels like stepping into a little fairy-tale in the city. The place is cozy and whimsical, with charming tea sets and a wide selection of teas. Their scones are absolutely delicious, fluffy inside, with just the right amount of sweetness. It’s such a lovely spot for catching up with friends or enjoying a slow afternoon.
Whimsical and fun - varied lunch menu to include breakfast and lunch items with a nice selection of both + awesome dessert and teas to choose from as well. We had a delicious pot of peppermint tea infused with rose petals that didn't need any sweetener as it was delicious on its own. I had the tea-infused egg salad sandwich which came with a side salad and my daughter had amazing cornmeal pancakes. Decorated creatively with many drawings and photos of Alice in Wonderland. Clean bathroom, plenty of tables and a nice party room in the back. Can't wait to return - for dessert next time! Located on the Upper West Side.
I love Alice’s Tea Cup. Typically, I’m on the East side and I’ll go there but today I wanted to get scones to go and I was on the West side. This location seems nice. I was in a hurry and couldn’t stay for tea today but the scones, specifically, the pumpkin scones with the clotted cream and jam are my favourite. I highly recommend it as well as sitting down for a nice cup if tea when you’re in the neighbourhood. They have a nice variety of teas.
This is one of our favorite spot for our family in our neighborhood! Must experience especially for a little one. Ask for fairy dusk and wings. From the staff to the decor to the tableware, the details just make this place is so magical. Scones are on par with London and selection of teas are amazing. Our daughter ask to go here every year for her birthday. Such a special place to spend time with family and paint with our travel painting kits!
What a fun spot - perfect for the girl dad's out there. Presentation and vibe are all worth the visit. Sandwiches come on multi layered towers and the scones are the star as far as food goes. Sandwiches themselves were fine - but the addition of cookies and other treats as part of the order easily distracted me. Went with a nice green tea. Wife got coffee and was happy with it too. If just passing by - a coffee and scone sounds like it'd be the play. They also have a wall of wearable fairy wings for your kids. You have to ask a staff member for one. Nice touch. And finally, seated next to us was another young group of kids with their mom celebrating a birthday. Wish I thought of that.

The place is very nice and food was delicious. We had the Curried sandwich, Curried Chicken Salad, Croque ( black forest ham & gruyere cheese) Monsieur and also Indian Chai pot of tea.
Went here for lunch and ordered the mad hatter special for 3 and some kids meals. It was a bit pricey for what you get, however, food was decent and the kids liked their grilled cheese and banana cake slices. Scones were good. I thought the sandwiches were the highlight with the smoked salmon, ham and cheese, and curried chicken. Tea was quite tasty, especially the Earl Grey Extra Fancy. The Alice in Wonderland theme was nice but probably requires a bit of a refresh and new paint. Overall, it was a positive experience.
Alice’s Tea Cup is a sweet little cafe on UWS. The Best thing here for me: The Fresh Scones are hands down super delicious and probably the best things on the menu. I had a Mixed Berry scone and it was very fresh and served deliciously with cream and jam. I highly recommend it. It is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Not too sweet. Goes perfectly with the tea. About the Teas: I’m an ardent tea lover and always drink loose leaf tea at home. I tried here both Alice’s house special and Indian Chai tea. Both teas are much better than any other places in the area - serving aromatic and flavorful teas. So applause for that! However I see room for improvement ideas: I personally like strong teas and here I couldn’t regulate the strength of my tea as it is brewed at the tea station. So my suggestion is to either 1) ask customers how strong they want their tea (crazy string, strong medium weak) like with a steak (medium well etc. ) 2) ask customers if they want to leave the tea leaves or the tea pouch In the pot. This way the tea can keep getting stronger and more flavorful as the conversation with friends keep flowing. This way the customer can also feel a part of the tea process and regulate their own tea strength. Food: I had Scones Benedict It was not bad but not great - I would say medium. I would not order them here again. Ambience: The place feels very magical and very cute - with Alice ideas throughout the cafe. Nice touches. Staff: Very nice, polite, kind, helpful, and soft spoken. Overall: It’s a solid choice for afternoon tea with scones - which does deserve 5 stars. However certain details about the tea brewing options and the savory food quality reduced my rating to 4 - 4.5 stars. maybe making the menu smaller and focusing more on solid tea options you have will even more improve your quality. But overall - great place especially for families with kids. My DD Verdict Here: GO HERE!!!
The tea selection was delicious so many options to choose from. The food options weren't my favorite. Thw curry chicken sandwich was probably the most tasty. The pastries weren't too sweet. I would return just for the tea. You are able to buy the teas by the oz if you wish to go which was a bonus. Service was good. Just wish I enjoyed the food a little more.
✨Great Experience, good time, big selection of tea and delicious food. The place is quite cozy, inspired by the decor and colors of Alice in Wonderland. Get ready to truly enjoy a great selection of delicious teas, a great staff willing to chat and give suggestions. They have a special tea menu with more than 30 combinations that will make you want to try more than one pot, without forgetting the delicious fluffy and moist scones that come with some accompaniments like butter, jelly, and whipped cream (you must try the berry scones). But if you're ready for something more than tea and dessert, they have a very good variety of sandwiches, burritos, salads and soup. This place offers a great time with good deals, like a pot of tea with scones for just $18, or the brunch around $35, plus the specialty teas that change according to the seasons.
A place I've seen often enough, but only recently visited on a Tuesday morning. Nice decor theme, and the food was enjoyable. The only issue I had was the lack of English Breakfast Tea, and the following two choices I made were also out of stock. Other than that, the place is certainly worth a visit. Expect to spend almost $100 for a three-tiered setting with two pots of tea. Well worth the price.
I haven't been at Alice's Tea Cup in several years. I was meeting two friends visiting from out of town and we decided to meet on the UWS. We wanted something light to eat and a cozy atmosphere. \n\n…

This place is highly overrated. I expected a fun and delightful experience for my daughter but what we encountered was disappointing decor and super expensive food that was not worth it.
Teas are the real stars here... Everything else just ok IMO. \n\nBtw, the BLT sandwich is loaded with bacon!
I love this place! It's like you're in a fantasy land, delicious tea and scones!! Also try the egg salad sandwich

The place was decorated as Alice but maybe it's just my expectations but there were not a lot of things that relate to the movie. Just a few roses on the ceiling but if you're not seated in the small corner at the back you won't get to see it. The food was okay, not something you'd go back for. Although, they do have a brunch menu that has a $15 minimum per person that I was unable to try because they only serve it during weekends. Perhaps that's better tasting. The service was great tho!
While I loved the atmosphere and the scones were very good We also got cake, the banana bread cake was very stodgy and I didn’t eat it. We did mention it to the waitress and she didn’t offer any suggestions. She did take 1 dollar off the bill! We were there at 11 am when they opened but the brunch menu was not available. We asked were there any eggs available? She replied no, just the scones and the lunch menu which had limited items. Overall. It was ok but I’m in no rush back.

Wow. I never thought I’d give such a negative review, but can’t stop myself. #colormeakaren We got there at 3:30 and place was somewhat busy, not crazy. There was a table of young girls maybe around 13yo, honestly idk. They were having fun, but their fun entailed loud shrieking and ear deafening laughter. Normally I don’t mind a little laughter and fun, but this was out of hand and the part that was most upsetting was that the staff did nothing and the parents did nothing. One woman at another table came over and asked them kindly to tone it down a bit. She was basically ignored. Another table also said something, also ignored. I finally turned around and asked them to quiet down just a little bit, again ignored. Finally one of the parents sitting nearby chimed in and said something, also ignored. At the same time, one of the hostesses decided to help with dishes and flatware and all she did was throw everything onto the tables and into their bins. So it added the loudest clanking and banging ever. What?? I started laughing because it felt like someone was punking us and all I wanted to do was have a peaceful tea and catch-up with my friend. The parents should have paid my bill for having to put up with it and the staff should’ve comped something. At no time did they come over to apologize or anything. When leaving I finally decided to say something to the hostess (not the one banging and clanking) and she said yes, they were loud. It wasn’t until I went on about how unpleasant the experience was that she apologized. For the price we paid and what they charge, I would never go back. And bad on me for not making a bigger stink while it was going on. I just kept hoping it would stop. Oh the food was meh but maybe if I wasn’t being deafened I would’ve enjoyed it more.
