Opinions de Arco Cafe New York
I will be heading there again this year for my birthday, as I have for the last 2 years. The food is great as is the service.
As an Italian that lives in the neighborhood, I have been here multiple times. They are famous for their homemade pasta - and rightfully so! I think their best ones are the simplest ones, with tomato, cheese, or ragu. They have a limited choice of main dishes (secondi), but the calf liver is great (it's like "fegato alla veneziana", but lighter). Last: don't forget to taste the Sebada for a dessert. First, it's delicious. Second, it's a typical dish from Sardinia, and I do not know if you can find it elsewhere in the city.
Absolutely delicious! Sardegna family owned, they make the pasta fresh. My favorite was the calamari with fried zucchini and eggplant pasta 😋
We make sure to dine at this amazing little gem every time we visit NYC. It's out of the main tourist area but totally worth the short ride there. Fresh pasta, meat and seafood dishes. Staff is #1
Very tasty Sardinian resto. Had kale salad w generous serving of salmon. Restsurant not large, has outdoor seating enclosed with plastic panels. A bit warm on a humid evening, could use some fan to move air. Dining partner had ricotta cheesecake for dessert.
Thank you from the heart Arco Café for a lovely night and a great meal. We were moving our son and daughter in law to New York and discovered you are just around the corner. So happy for Francesca and her family what they have created here. The food was first class, the service personal. We loved everything we ordered. Gnocchi alla Montanara, Seafood pasta, Burrata e Prosciutto, Culurgiones Bolognese Sauce, Branzino, Torta Ricotta e Pistacchio, Sebada, Keep rockin!
Great deal, $12 lunch includes an appetizer and an entree. Very good value, definitely coming back. We had brushetta and mussels stew-was excellent and pasta dishes were great as well.
GREAT food. Meh location. For takeout and pickup are prices different on delivery sites than calling ARCO directly to place orders for both food and fees? Can you order rare, medium rare, al dente, etc. online, or only when you call?
As always Arco has fresh, delicious food and a courteous friendly staff. Francesca and Daniele are friendly and it feels like a family trattoria. Enjoy the handmade pasta, the typical Sardinian maldoreddos or cavatielli.
It’s hard to find high quality food in this specific area of the UWS but Arco is a hidden gem! Go for the gnocchi with mushrooms and pancetta. Cozy, comforting, quiet, and service is friendly. Definitely not buzzy or exciting but perfect for a low key dinner.
I am a native sardinian and this place feels like home to me. Authentic sardinian dishes, great location and friendly service. I particularly recommend their homemade malloreddus and culurgionis. You can also find seadas, the traditional sardinian dessert, and many other great dishes!
I came for the $21 lunch menu, and had minestrone and the gnocchi. I had to add quite a bit of salt to the minestrone for my tastes - but it was clearly good high quality minestrone. I'll probably try something else next time just to diversify, but once the weather cools off more and I crave soup I know how much salt to add now. The gnocchi.... Delicious!! Easily the best I've had - I'd all but given up on gnocchi because I just haven't been too thrilled with it anywhere else I've tried it, but I'll definitely get it again at Arco! I finished up with a pound of the fresh spaghetti noodles to go, which we used at home and - surprisingly - even my kids loved them! Arco is a little more pricey than what I'd typically go for, but I look forward to coming back on occasion!
Incredibly reasonable price for the lunch special and just astoundingly good food - fresh, flavorful, left me feeling energized even after eating a hearty pasta. feels like a truly rare gem
One of my favorite Italian places in the city. Tastes great and portions are just right. The staff are all very friendly and are always willing to offer recommendations. Weekday lunch specials give you the best deals, but I'd happily dine here any time.
Excellent restaurant that feels like home. We’ve gone three weekends in a row. Can’t stay away! Menu is varied and well planned. We’ve had the fish, the ragu, the carbonara and of course the bread is worth the visit in itself. We also stop in to buy fresh pasta for home. Incredible. Thankful they made it through 2020!
We went back to Arco, long a family-run local favorite, shortly after indoor dining was allowed again. It was great as always — food, service, atmosphere — and reassuring with all the safety measures in place, including distanced tables. Can’t beat the fresh pasta, spun out right there in the front window, and the handmade sauces. Try the Brussels sprout salad to go along. NYC is coming back.
Whenever we come to NYC we always visit Arco. Homemade pasta and everything from a great spirits and wine list, to the new focaccia apps., to generously portioned entrees, and of course the home made Sardinian desserts - all terrific! Francesca, Daniele and the staff are fantastic. Do yourself a favor and visit Arco Cafe. You'll be glad you did.
Excellent food. This is my #1 choice for when I want to celebrate by going somewhere nicer. Many healthy options. Nice wine selection. I know very little about wine (other than that I like it) and the staff were really helpful in letting me taste to decide.
Hi! I've been to Arco several times and I feel like I am in a Italian / Mediterranean hideout. They have great food, affordable prices, I encourage you to go for lunch! The staff is sweet and aims to make me and my guests feel comfortable...in this day and age, that's rare. So, I truly appreciate it :)
When you walk in to an Italian restaurant in this day and age and hear Italian actually being spoken, you know youre in the right place. This nice woman that greeted us so warmly owns and works this restaurant. She is so nice and welcoming. The food is superb and not expensive. The gnocchi are homemade and are the best Ive ever had. The seafood dishes are so fresh and the Sardegnian bread was amazing. I will always go back to this little jewel and will be sure to tell everyone I know to go too..... Great meal and atmospherd for the money
Loved this place. They served Sardinian food which is slightly different than other kinds of Italian food. I appreciated that it didn’t try to be like Italian-American placed and stayed true to itself. Great neighborhood Italian spot
Very worthwhile fresh pasta correctly prepared. Plenty of terrific choices, nice folks and a comfy room. All the seafood we had was also delicious and affogato for dessert was refreshing.
Truly one of the best, freshest handmade pastas I have had in the city. Easily the best takeout order I have ever ordered. The food arrived unbelievably piping hot. I ordered the Pellizzas al Ragu di Manzo e Maiale and Mediterranea salad which were both delicious and the rosemary bread was perfect. 10/10 would recommend and will order again.
My wife and I were going to eat at V&T on 110th. However, poor first impressions make us walk out. No intro from the server. The place was quiet and the server did a piss poor job of cleaning our table and zero welcome or small talk. So, we walked down 7 blocks to Arco where the service is homie and welcoming everything my wife and are in the area. The server she is pleasant and welcoming every time we visit. This past visit she said, "long time no see" which leads me to believe to pays attention to her customers. A must visit in the UWS area
Come here often. Recently had my fathers 80th birthday party there. I've had most things on the menu. Never had a bad experience or meal. I recommend the calvitali with broccoli rabe and sausage. The olive oil cake is amazing. This is a great little spot with lovely people that own and run it.
Excellent Sardinian restaurant specializing in house made fresh pasta. Many seafood choices are on the menu which is always a plus for me. I had the sqid ink pasta special with clams and bottarga. My wife had a dish similar to pasta carbonara and we shared mussels in tomato sauce as an appetizer. All fabulous.
Overall, I highly recommend Arco Cafe if you're looking for authentic Sardinian Italian cuisine in New York City. The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic date night or a casual dinner with friends and family.
My go-to Italian restaurant with food, ambience and service better than places that charge twice as much. The house made pastas are outstanding and the $12 two-course lunch deal is unbeatable. I go back again and again for the comforting food and friendly service.
One of my favorite spots in the city. Incredible focaccia menu. Delicious homemade pasta. Great vegan options.
The food here is CONSISTENTLY EXCELLENT. It is the BEST Italian food I've had (and I'm a BIG foodie... lol). The owner, her sister-in-law and the wait staff have become like family and are super gracious to EVERYONE. You can tell they all enjoy what they do and the people they serve. A top 5-star rating isn't high enough for Arco!
I’ve been here a bunch of times. This is a local gem of a place. The pasta is fresh and always good. The staff is always happy to have guests and they are accommodating and friendly. I’ve never had a bad meal here. I believe it’s more Sardinian Italian than mainland Italian but don’t let that stop you. This is one of my favorite pasta joints in the city. The fried artichokes are excellent. The wine is very good, I am a fan of the canonau. I have no pictures because I’d rather eat my food than post it. You will not be disappointed.
My family and I ate here last night to celebrate a birthday. The service was wonderful (our server, Francesca, was so friendly and attentive), atmosphere cozy, food was flavorful and authentic, and pasta was perfect. I recommend the Campo salad, Branzino, fried polenta, and pretty much any pasta. I didn't have dessert, but my party loved the pistachio cake and lava cake. Overall, excellent experience ✨
All great, but please, change your customer service-like soundtrack! Not sure if it’s A.I. music of some sorts, but after spending lunch time with that crap in my ears I feel numb and dumb.
A great discovery on the UWS. Looks charming but modest from the outside, but inside it is welcoming and authentic. Sardinian emphasis, with homemade fresh pasta (which they also sell at the door in 1lb packets so you can take some home to cook yourself). Focaccia in many variants is especially noteworthy.
Excellent food, well-portioned dishes, excellent service, and delicious drinks and desserts. The menu pricing is reasonable for the high quality experience. The atmosphere is lovely except slightly too loud for a comfortable dining experience, but we will be back regularly to try more menu items now that we have discovered this lovely neighborhood restaurant.
One of the best old school restaurants if you want high quality food, a nice quiet jazzy atmosphere, lovey crew and piece of mind. For quite people who likes good food.
We three different pasta dishes and they were all delicious! Will definitely be coming back.
I dine in and get delivery from Arco all the time. The food is amazing and they have lots of options that can be made vegan, including some of their homemade pastas. Their minestrone soup and fried polenta are my favorites. Service is great when you dine in - I brought in large groups to Arco for my birthday and they always take great care of us. They were really accommodating to my young nieces who joined last time. Everyone loves their focaccia! It’s a really friendly establishment - simply put, great hospitality and amazing food.
Fresh pasta and homemade focaccia help this quaint, authentic Italian spot stand out in an ocean of competitors. Best Italian food in the neighborhood; great service; cozy location.
I live in Brooklyn but had to venture to the UWS to take the nyc food handler exam (I work in a restaurant) and I as in the mood for Sardinian food so googled in the area. 5 minute walk from where I had the to take the exam. I read the excellent reviews so wanted to try. I got there at 4 so was able to do the $21 appetizer and entree- the food was amazing. So so good, I had the Caprese app and one of the homemade pastas. It really feels like you’re being transported out of NYC, and the service was also great. I will definitely be back and willingly will treck up from BK to visit again!
Delicious home-made pasta (among many other Italian dishes) served in a warm and friendly neighborhood-vibe environment. The staff is friendly, the service fast, and the food excellent, all wrapped up in a very homey ambience. The lunch special (12-5) is excellent with a large range of appetizer and main course choices. After reading a positive review of Arco on "West Side Rag," and trying it myself, I can confirm that it is a wonderful neighborhood dining option at any time of day.
Hidden neighborhood gem with top tier homemade pasta and exciting specials! The calamari was fantastic too.
The friendly host and servers are in keeping with the delicious and authentic cuisine, beautifully presented. There's no place below to mention the dishes which I would recommend, so I'll put them here: the artichoke appetizer and the chicken breast with mushrooms and spinach. Another in our party loved a "c" pasta with pork and broccolini. There were many other recommendable dishes, but they are not listed below ... that aspect of this website needs improvement. Thanks, Susan Purdy
I am not sure why it has taken my so long to write this review about one of my FAVORITE restaurants in NYC. Every single dish is made with fresh ingredients and the fresh pasta's, foccacia bread and pizza's are ALL absolutely DELICIOUS. We have gone there for lunch, brunch, dinner with just our family, on date nights, with friends, celebrated BIG celebrations there with 20 people and we are always treated like family. You truly feel like you are in Sardinia when you eat there as we know from Daniele, the chef, that so many of his recipes come right from his mom (and his sister Francesa!). We have followed our favorite waitress in NYC, Daniela, there and so grateful for her and her family. And Ruth --- another gracious staff member who greets us with hugs every time we come! I will also say their delivery is one of the best and their dishes always come piping HOT and their portions are quite big. I love the staff there and very grateful to have Arco in our neighborhood! Thank you for always welcoming us with open arms and always feeding us the most delicious food --- OH and the canoli's- have to get the canoli's!!!
The service was excellent. It was a Friday night and every table was full. The food was delicious. My friend loved the Minestrone and my Mediterranean Salad was fresh. I had the Fregola. It's a round roasted pasta with mussels and baby octopus in a tomato broth (more of a sauce). Really good and unique. Small wine list but some good choices. Looking forward to trying more options.
Cozy spot with AMAZING home made pasta. Had the Fregula with mushrooms, shrimp and salmon in spicy garlic and olive oil sauce. Great combo of flavors and all ingredients cooked perfectly. Also had the Primavera focaccia- bright flavors, huge portion (8 x 12”) size. Nice wine list.
Favorite place in the neighborhood. Must’ve come here 20+ times at this point, food is always great and at a good price point. Highly recommend the focaccia rossa, and the fresh pastas Nothing bad to say
The food is beyond perfect. As are the staff/owners because they run the place. So grateful they survived covid. Their pasta is the real deal, homemade. You will not be disappointed
Great food and atmosphere. The service is fast and the staff is really nice. We came back after visiting last week.
Excellent neighborhood gem. Went on Valentines day, so very busy. Branzino and focaccia pizza were amazing. Highly recommend.
Delicious food, friendly and competent service, and lovely atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. The fritto misto is excellent (crisp & not over-battered), even on major holiday weekends— a sign of consistent, excellent kitchen. Perfect coffee drinks. Great lunch special & happy hour drinks.
The food is really delicious. Not too heavy, not too light. You can taste how fresh it is. The real star for me was that Focaccia that you get with oil and vinegar with the meal. It is incredible! Also, this is located right across the street from a beautiful building that was converted to a youth hostel. It provides a beautiful view during dinner.
Sat at the bar. Cute bartender and owner served me wine and dope pasta. Would recommend.
One of our go-to restaurants for the last few years. The best authentic Italian restaurant in the city, at least in Manhattan. It’s also the only Italian restaurant our actual Italian friends will eat at in the city. Underrated and not overpriced. They have in house freshly made pasta. They also have a good lunch special / discount.
They have a amazing Lunch Special. Good Happy if you like House(bottle shelf) liquor. But the food!!!! This is my second time visiting, first time for Lunch. Dinner is a better atmosphere, but the Lunch Special.... WOW! I haven't seen a better one in the city or the boroughs. The pasta is Homemade, Foccia is very impressive and filling and the appetizers have large portions. Don't skip this place!!!
The focaccia alone is worth a visit to this cozy, neighborhood place! Add in delicately fried calamari and zucchini, homemade pasta, and a delicious tiramisu, and there are many reasons to go back again.
I live in the area and have walked by this place soooooo many times. It's been on my growing list of places to try. It's also highly rated so I was curious if it really lived up to the ratings. I find restaurant ratings on customer provided scores to be usually extra-high. The service overall was good; I sat at the bar and the bartender provided new glasses for each of the bottled beers I got, even when I was about to re-use a glass for the second drink. The food took awhile to come out but I realized they actually waited to fire up my entree (pasta) after my appetizer (focaccia with cheese meat veggies i.e. almost or basically pizza, except no tomato sauce, but tomatoes instead). It took awhile to cook up the entree even though it was just gnocchi with a cream sauce (pancetta and mushrooms). But this wait was definitely for a good reason. They must have low to medium-heat cooked the hell out of the pancetta. The cured taste was embedded in the cream sauce; a single complex flavor. The texture of the slippery soft but firm mushroom with its inherently light flavor was a great complement to the gnocchi which had a gummy inside and the pancetta which was rich and salty but not too salty. Perfect when you make a bite with all three and the cream sauce. The gnocchi was a bit gummy for me though, it kept getting plastered to my teeth after each bite. The focaccia was cooked well, ending up crispy with a chew in a bite, and it was definitely handmade and fresh tasting light and feeling airy. The place and its atmosphere was very quiet since I went about 45 minutes before close. It's a small restaurant with decent decor of a tiled bar top with wooden stools. It reminded me of Mamma Mia the movie, Italy, and Greece. I would definitely go back. You don't find the care taken to cook food this well in so many places. If I had to give it a numeral rating out of 5 I would give it a 4.35, but being constrained by stars I have to give it 5 stars; it doesn't deserve 4 stars only which I reserve for solidly good restaurants. Arco Cafe is more like very good, looking at the peak towards excellent.
I don't generally rave about restaurants, but the meal that we had here at this 'cafe' was amazing. The prosciutto which was one ingredient of my date's entree was to die for!! The two appetizers we had were so good that we felt like we were pushing the envelope by ordering entrees. I had fried calamari ( pronounced properly, please ) with zucchini which was so good I wanted to savor every bite. My date had an assortment of cheeses and meats which was beyond amazing. Mind you neither of us drank any alcohol because we both wanted to enjoy the taste of every bite!! My date chose the branzino for her entree and I chose the calves liver. My date who was not ecstatic about trying my entree still enjoyed the one or two bites she tried. I thoroughly enjoyed it as it was prepared almost perfectly.!! My date's branzino was cooked perfectly with broccoli rabe. Overall the service was extremely good in terms of service, knowledge, and attentiveness. The location was the only hiccup as we had a bit of an issue with hangers on walking up the sidewalk to Arco. I know it's not an issue with the restaurant, but we did feel a bit uncomfortable on the way up. .Ideally, with a slightly earlier reservation, I am certain you'll enjoy yourself immensely ..
The pasta dishes are SO GOOD. We got the November 50% off deal which runs Monday -Thursday before 6pm. Ordering was a breeze as was pickup. Such a great meal. Our pastas were both great in their own way. We got one with salmon and shrimp that was perfectly cooked and another with pistachios. Out of this world. Can’t believe we have this place in our neighborhood. Arco deserves all the support it can get.
One of the best experience I had in the city. Sweetest baristas, impeccable taste on the design, will definitely come back.
I went to Arco Café on a referral and I’m so glad I did — the meal was absolutely outstanding. From start to finish, the experience was flawless. The food was fresh, authentic, and full of flavor — you can tell real care goes into every dish. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with that perfect balance of neighborhood charm and refined dining. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and everything came out at just the right pace. It honestly felt like a hidden gem that more people need to know about. If you’re looking for a place that delivers both quality and heart, Arco Café is it. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends and family.
Found my neighborhood gem! You always know a place is great when they drop warm delicious bread and olive oil on the table. High quality food and lovely service. Definitely going back. Highly recommend.
Whenever we want to have nice lunch on the weekend as a family, we always come here. Neighborhood gems! My husband and I love the Sardenian pasta and lobster pasta, while my kids love pasta with beef ragu and lava cake. People at the restaurant are so kind and friendly and accommodating to my kids.
This place is the GOAT of local neighborhood restaurants. Not only is the food absolutely fabulous, the prices are fair, and the service is unmatched. The lunch special goes down REAL nice and is NOT to be missed. The dining room itself is an amazing sensory experience - calm, cozy, warm, and beautiful. 100/10 had to sleep for 24 hrs after my meal.
📌 @arcocafenyc - Sardinian Italian Restaurant • Service - 10/10 super friendly and attentive. • Atmosphere super cute intimate setting. • What we drank: 🥃 Italian Sin - Aperol, bourbon, prosecco, orange slice. 🍷Mirto Royale - Mirto (Sardinian traditional liquor) and Prosecco. • What we ate: 🥬 Kale Salad - Green Kale, raisins, sliced almonds, cherry tomatoes, lemon dressing. 😋 Caeciofi Fritti - Fried artichoke hearts. 🍕 Focaccia Sarda - Tomato sauce, mozzarella, Fiore Sardo cheese, dry sausage, pecorino. 🍄🟫 Gnocchi alla Montanara - Gnocchi with pancetta and mushrooms in cream sauce. ♥️ Ravioli de Patete e Menta - Homemade ravioli filled with potatoes, fresh mint and Fiore Sardo cheese. • Desserts: 🍯🧀 Sebada - Fried pastry dough filled with pecorino cheese and lemon, topped with honey and powdered sugar. ☕️ Tiramisú - Espresso and mascarpone. • Final thoughts 💭 We can not wait to go back! Every single bite we took was busting with flavor, authenticity, creativity and we could not stop! We left weighing in an extra 10 lbs and it was completely worth it 😂 - not only do they make their pasta FRESH in house, you can buy it to go, and make some fresh delicious pasta at home. 10/10 recommended @arcocafenyc 🫶🏻
In an area crowded with competing Italian restaurants, Arco Cafe manages to stand out in quality of dishes, intimate aesthetic, and fantastic service. It’s clear that Arco spends less time focusing on the needless opulence often accompanied by Italian restaurants, and spends more time on the quality and authenticity of their dishes. I had the fettuccine ragu and tuna/caper focaccia. The focaccia was very creative and absolutely delicious!
4.5 stars rounded up. Cute, small cafe with fresh, home made pasta. I went for the lunch special $21 (12:30-5pm) which included an appetizer and main. The complementary focaccia was very good; olive oil and balsamic vinegar was offered as accompaniment. The mussels were on the small side; the accompanying tomato sauce was flavorful but a bit salty. The Fritto Misto was good, the batter was light. The shoestring zucchini was too thin and thus, overcooked; it would be better if they were cut thicker or in disks so that they would be al dente. The malloreddos was good with a fair amount of sausage. The gnocchi was light and the dish was surprisingly light even though it had a cream sauce. Fresh grated parm cheese and ground pepper was offered. This place is a good option if you can take advantage of the lunch special. 5/2024 we went to celebrate a Columbia graduation for lunch. We had an order of Fregula (salmon, shrimp n mushrooms with fregula pasta) and 4 lunch specials. Tried the new on the menu fried artichoke hearts and they are very good. Also had the vodka sauce, carbonara and cacio e pepe. We shared the dishes family style and waitress was very accommodating with all the extra plates. A 5 star experience!
This food is hands down 20/10! The customer service was wonderful & they’re super welcoming and friendly. Their Insalata Di Gamberi was perfect! I don’t rave about salads but the shrimp was very flavorful and all the ingredients are FRESH! Their pastas are house made and you can purchase as well. I got the busa pasta with the assorted seafood 20/10! Dessert was tiramisu which is so rich and fresh! Everything is fresh and delicious a REAL GEM I highly recommend & will definitely be back. Franchesca & Juan are great with wonderful energy!
Arco Cafe is an absolute little gem on the upper west side. We’ve been there twice and been blown away by the quality and flavor, particularly the home made pastas. The fish is also to die for which is what you might expect at a Sardinian restaurant run by the lovely and gracious Sardinian host Francesca. I look forward to our next dining adventure there.
Incredibly real Italian food restaurant. When a restaurant is run by it's owners, it shows. The service was great. They were making fresh pasta right there. You can tell a restaurant is top notch when you kid's buttered noodles are out of the world. I toss noodles in butter and don't get anything close to what he had. My Fregola Mare e Monti had three humongous shrimp. The gnocchi were light, pillow-y and delicious. The pasta with mushrooms and cream tasted like mushroom and cream. We had the Sebada for dessert, which was a perfect savory-sweet balance. Will be definitively coming back for more.
I'm not even a pasta fan or Italian food fan, but I loved it. I got the one vegan pasta option, and it was delicious. My family went there (table for 7!) and it was really cozy, and we felt very comfortable there. The employees are very kind and caring. Thank you!
Service was very slow. Food was above average. The pastas were superb. The sauces above average. Small place so make reservations!
From the moment we walked in, I knew this place was special. Very warm vibe from the owners and staff and lots of happy customers enjoying their dinners. My boyfriend reserved our table for my birthday because we are planning a trip to Sardinia. What better way to get a taste of our trip beforehand. I still can't believe we got in on relatively short notice (a few weeks) on a Thursday night. And Arco Cafe did not disappoint.
Great place for restaurant-made noodles and good vibes on the upper west side. The bread/foccacia that comes with the meal is good (though is never served warm) and toothsomely chewy. While the appetizer selection isn't anything that deviates far from a standard Italian menu, the food is prepared well. The mains are good, and there is a large selection of house-made pasta.
An authentically Sardinian restaurant with good friendly service and very sweet owners. Handmade pasta. Good focaccia. The specials change frequently. I recommend the mediterranean salad and the affogato. Small tables, so it would be nice for a date but isn't best for groups larger than 5 (although they can accommodate larger groups with a reservation). I recommend!
The Pasta is still great, but the starter (Caprese) was not good at all. The tomato tasted like water and it was a cheap Mozzarella. Also the wait times for the food were quite long.
When arrived I was suspicious, the menu has misspellings and the candles are fake (in my experience these are bad signals). The olive oil and balsamic vinegar they give with the house bread are very bad. The main dishes are not too bad, the potato gnocchi is okay and the tomato based sauces are good. Very nice service in general, I'd give them a second chance.
I have dined here several times. Beforr the last time I would have rated 4 stars. Last time my fish was overcooked and sides were meh. Service attentive and owners are nice. Likely just an off night.
The focaccia here is really something! The pastas are good but not amazing. I do enjoy being able to pick the type of pasta and the sauce that goes with it. I liked coming here so much so that I brought my mom here for dinner. We had a late dinner, and the restaurant closed as we were having dessert. The could have politely asked us to leavers, which is perfectly understandable because the staff should be able to go home after the restaurant closes. Instead of saying anything, they cranked up the music so we’d get the message. Don’t treat your customers like idiots. It’s rude and I’m probably not coming back.
Small cosy restaurant. Almost feels as if you might be in someone’s home…the servers are so pleasant. However, sadly, the chef has a heavy hand with salt. I will return but when ordering ask the kitchen to hold the salt.
Overall poor experience. Friday evening around 6.30. Service was completely swamped. Could have put another person on staff. Takes forever to get attention, to get a refill or the check. No one will check on you to see if everything is ok. The wine list doesn’t have any indication of producer or vintage. Maybe in that neighborhood nobody care but still, it screams cheap and shady. $27 charcuterie board was the saddest I’ve see in a long time. With very small, mal presented and low quality 3 meats, 1 cheese. I wouldn’t take much to do better than this.
The food here made me immediately sick. I ordered the chicken parmigiana through Doordash. The reviews were good, and I expected better than the tough and leathery chicken I got which was only 1/4 inch thick and covered in wet breadcrumbs. I ate that due to hunger. Then I made the mistake of trying the side pasta. It had a chemical taste and was overcooked. I ate only one bite. Five minutes later I had severe stomach pains and started vomiting uncontrollablably. I reported this to the health department, and I saved the pasta in case I need it for the police in case I need hospitalization.
Went here because of the menu online. Online menu didn't match the actual menu. Walked out and found a great Caribbean French place instead.
It’s RESTAURANT WEEK here on the UWS, but NO excuse for the disappointment we experienced with this evening’s dinner. The fare might have been FAIR, if served at an appropriate temperature - both fish a chicken arrived barely warm. Service was inconsistent, though servers and their assistants appeared to outnumber patrons. Complaints regarding same were left unaddressed. The music was a fine 50’s variety - loud and undeniable. Management seemed to be absent or, perhaps, fast asleep. Overall, a wasted evening at a neighborhood venue.
