Great kabobs and excellent service. The server was EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable about various dietary restrictions. (Even Keto). I have to say though my favorite part was the Turkish coffee. It seems easy for Turkish coffee to taste old and stale but a cup here is fresh and exploding with flavor. If you like espresso or black coffee, give it a try!
Really great falafel at this place--deep fried and crunchy outside, soft and flavorful inside. Wonderful service and delightful menu lineup.
Everything homemade with such good quality ingredients and depth of flavor. What a surprising find tonight❣️ Yum!
Great service and nice ambience. The Lebanese arak is a must-try.
Very good mezze and super friendly staff. Affordable prices for the area!!!
Delicious Lebanese Cuisine. Servers are very polite, and prompt. Great venue for family gatherings, and dinners.
If you're looking for fantastic Lebanese food, head over to Byblos. Hands down, it's one of my favorite restaurants in the City. Great food, great entertainment, great people - perfect combination.
The atmosphere was just amazing. The singer and the belly dancer has a lot to add to the night. Highly recommended on Saturday!
Our second visit so far. Went with All-Appetizers meal and I loved every one of those. Large variety of delicious vegetarian options. The ambience was good and the service was professional. Will definitely visit again.
I went there for a business meeting at lunchtime. We hit if off with some appetizers and salads which were really good. The main course was full of all kinds of meat - ribs, steaks, chickens and fish - and it all was delicious! For dessert I have some baklava and malabi which, unsurprisingly, were also delicious! There was a nice and quiet Arabic songs in the background. Let's just say that I left the restaurant and entered into a food coma.
The server was very attentive and willing to explain the different food items in detail. Very knowledgeable of the ingredients in each dish as well. The food itself was very good. In particular, the hummus, falafel, season fries, and chicken kebab. The beef kebab had a seasoning the we weren't accustomed to.
Met some old co-workers here for a catch-up dinner. Located not too far from Madison Square park. Food portions were just right and the meals were delicious. The waiters are very attentive and they always suggest the right wine pairings with the meals. Also, the waiters are helpful, without being 'too helpful' - which is a fine balance.
My family and I visited Byblos while visiting New York in mid February 2013. The food was delicious, particularly the babaganoush. The milk pudding was just heavenly. Our server was knowledgeable and exceedingly warm and polite. The staff were also very welcoming of our two children (8 & 5). The bathrooms were very clean, as was the dining area and bar. Our server told us Saturday nights are a big night, with belly dancing and socializing and that children are always welcome.
My first dinner in Manhattan was in the restaurant. We had missed Lebanese food, and it was an exquisite experience. The zaatar on bread is a must! All the spreads taste great. Main dishes tasted different from home but totally delicious.
Food is authentic Lebanese and is just excellent. We ordered more than 10 mezza dishes and they were all great! We also ordered Konaffa dessert. I advice people craving for Lebanese to try it or people who want to try authentic Lebanese food to come over. Lots of vegeterian choices. Good wine. I will come bacl again.
One of the best places to eat at. The meat pie is from heaven. And when you eat Tabouli you feel time stops for seconds. And then you take a bite of the humus with pine nuts mmmmmm best humus I ever had especially with the great flat bread that just came out from the oven. And if you like lamb, I recommend the lamb chops. And right now I'm waiting for the dessert. I believe it will be delicious as well. And not to forget the great service and the great choices of Arabic songs Note: Lebanese people are not known for sea food, So I don't recommend ordering sea food from a Lebanese restaurant and I didn't try any of their sea food choices.
Finally! This is the most authentic Lebanese food I have had in the States (lived in Lebanon for a while). Their grape leaves are to die for, closest to a Lebanese grandmother's. The hummus is the best in all of NYC, except for maybe my own. I would highly recommend if you are looking for an authentic experience.
The best best best best place in NYC to experience all Lebanese flavors, from the ambiance to service to every single spice used in the food. perfect... Amazing .... Must have! Don't miss this Flight :D
Service was really great and so was the food. The waiter was very courteous and knowledgeable about the menu. Very nice atmosphere , definitely a date night kind of spot just like recommended on Seated!
Delicious food,, we ordered hummus, tabouli, spicy kefta, chicken tawook, baked kibbee..all served with a smile. Very friendly waiter and owner/manager who we had conversation with. Would definitely recommend.
For an authentic Lebanese cuisine a visit to Byblos Restaurant is a must. The owners will always make sure you have a great experience. Weekends entertainment is quite festive and amazing.
Excellent food. I was on a party of 5 and we ordered lot's of different plates. It was all wonderful. Very well made and the service was also very good. I certainly recommend this place.
When we come to Byblos, we are treated like members of the family. The experience reminds me of my childhood Sunday dinners at my Sicilian grandmother's home: plenty of homemade food served with love, and a sense of community that can only be established by people who love what they do and who they serve. Old World values reign at Byblos and they are the cornerstone of this restaurant.
Judge any Lebanese restaurant by the quality and freshness of the Tabouleh. BYBLOS tabouleh does not disappoint. If you wany to try authentic Lebanese food made in the classic style then Byblos is where you should start. All the dishes we tried were freshly made and the flavors were exactly how they are supposed to taste.
A complete gem! We showed up on a Tuesday night and were taken care of wonderfully by the attentive staff. If you have never tried Kibbee Tartare (raw minced lamb meet with cracked wheat and spices) you have to do it. The flavor and texture was simply sublime. The baba ghannouj had a smokiness that I had not tasted before and it was nicely paired with sweet pomegranate seeds that made the taste magical. The labne (a Lebanese equivalent to Greek yoghurt) and fresh baked pitta bread were awesome too.
Good food and service. I had lunch with friends. We ordered and really enjoyed eating here. Place is clean. Bathroom clean. All good.
Great food and very kind staff. There was a singer and belly dance show (not sure if every Saturday). I planned to have only dinner but finally left after 2AM. Party was great with French and Lebanese old songs, people dancing even with staff. Very kind other customers. I definitely recommend this place to whoever loves Lebanon.
Had a great experience, food was delicious. Really nice and cozy ambience. Great service.
Nice and clean place for good Lebanese food. Staff is friendly
Great menu selection of traditional Lebanese. A bit over priced.
Excellent food. Music performance starts at 9pm.
What a find. Not a lot of decor, but the family-feel of the place makes it endearing. The food is quite authentic and quite good. Wines are inexpensive.
It doesn't get much more authentic than this! The garlic dip is the hidden secret of the menu - smother it on pita, on top of a salad, or on your fresh whole fish.
Very solid Lebanese food. Good portions. Not fancy but pretty nice inside.
Good Mediterranean food the Lebanese music started around 9 and the dining area started to morph into a dance floor. Very entertaining
Kibbee cooked in hot yogurt sauce was delicious, a slightly citrus flavor with warm undertones from the kibbee. The hummus and falafel appetizers were both good standard fair. The atmosphere is relaxing, warm lighting and soft music in-tune with the restaurant. It was a lovely experience dining here.
Service was great all the waitress was very attentive. Food was ok the falafel was deep fry and dry. But the rest was Ok. The atmosphere was cozy. And belly dance show was good.
Came here for a company lunch and it was SO good. The hummus appetizers were perfect for our table of 6. I got the lamb chops and those were perfectly done. It wasn't busy so I personally felt the waitress could've been more attentive but otherwise the food came out within a reasonable time. The portions were great as well. No one in my group felt stuffed, just satisfied. Work nearby so will definitely be back for another business lunch.
Food is to expensive for amount. But is good.
Great appetizers! The fish was bland and we waited 2.5 hours for our food and most of our party left before and we didn't even get the remainder of the promised dinner. The belly dancer and the music were great! I doubt I'd ever go back. It just wasn't worth it.
Really, I've only got myself to blame. If a restaurant is less than half full on a Friday night, that should have been the red flag. Don't get me wrong, the food was tasty. Not generous but tasty. But... If the waiter tries to refill your water glass, misses and ends up pouring water all over the table... Normally I'd expect them to mop it up. And possibly apologise. Not here.
Was walking in the area, shopping and apt- hunting on a blistery cold day. Thought Lebanese food sounded healthy and that it would be good to support small businesses. Huge place was empty, he sat me by myself at a four top near the bar. I asked what kind of meat the squash had but he didn’t have it. Then started running off every other dish which is sort of amateurish for a white table cloth place. I ordered the fatouche salad lunch special with lentil soup. The soup comes out and looks watery, tastes a bit rancid. He asks how it is and I reply not very good - he smiles. I’m starting to sense he doesn’t speak much English. There are little black gnats hovering over my bread. He brings out a tray to do some presentation with chicken on a skewer, and I’m thinking this is some fancy salad. Then I realize he misunderstood and brought me the wrong order. He brings out a bowl of iceberg lettuce with the aforementioned chicken with some cucumbers and tomatoes. Meh... I eat the whole thing bc I hadn’t had breakfast. Pay for the check and I had to doublecheck the price: $17.95 for salad and runny lukewarm soup. The salad alone was $15... this sort of puts me in a bad mood all day and of course unsettles my stomach. Next time I try to treat myself I will duck in somewhere and do proper research. I wish them the best but this place seems like it needs a jolt of fresh energy.
Disappointing. The three entrees we wanted were all unavailable, and our "plan B" choices were mediocre at best. I know Lebanese cuisine and this ain't it.
Nothing particularly unique about their lunch specials. Few customer did make it a good place to talk. Overpriced at $16.95. Maybe weeknights or weekends are better.
The atmosphere was VERY fun with live music and belly dancing. Sadly, there were very few vegetarian options - hummus, falafel, and spinach pies basically. No vegetarian entres available. Also the service was very slow and the server was not great. He decided to tell us about the $55 price fix meal and didn't offer to show us a menu. We had to ask for the menu and then he finally went to fetch them. Well, on the menu, the price fix was $48 .... sketchy for sure. Meanwhile, we all got items off of the menu, so we are happy we didn't give in to whatever he was trying to pull. Very unprofessional.
Food is not good + kabab and the meat was smelling. Service was not great either. 3rs jan 19 their r much better food oit their
I don’t normally write reviews but this was so bad that I just had to. A Horrible experience!! the worst food I ever eaten in my life! It was obvious their ingredients were stocked from frozen food section of a supermarket. Not fresh! Dishes were not prepared well. Areas were half frozen and half hot. Absolutely no flavor! Bland and insipid. Extremely small portions. Short and inattentive staff. Only 2 waiters waited the entire resturant on a Saturday night! Terrible and awful service. Kept forgetting orders. Exorbitant price. I question the validity of reviews. There not to be trusted. Lesson learned. Stay away from this place!
There must be another Byblos that the positive reviews are referring to. There is no way it was this place. If it were, then at peak dinner time, it would not have been dead. It was dead for good reason. Worst service I've ever experienced in NYC. Waiter knew nothing about the menu. Hostess knew just a little more. Took 20 minutes to get a beer. And not a Lebanese beer. Oh hell no. They did not have any. Don't ask me how I'd like me beef cooked if all you know how do is dried out well done. On the bright side, there was no fear of salmonella poisoning from the chicken. It was cooked so long I could have used the pieces as ammunition for a slingshot. Grape leaves obviously came from a can. Probably the hummus did too. Overpriced cheap grade cafeteria food.
This is the worst Lebanese restaurant I've been to in NYC, or anywhere for that matter. The food was bland at best (the hummus could have been from a can), the service was horrendous (we were served 4 hours after sitting down), the waiters clearly didn't care, and it was a complete rip off (they charged approximately $50/person for a meager assortment of salads and blackened meat). The owner/manager didn't care at all. I told him about our experience and he just shrugged his shoulders. Avoid at all costs. If you want decent Lebanese food, go to Al Bustan or ilili or Balade.
Very poor presentation of food, my plate came with 2 skewers and fries. No salad, no dressing. I expect much more from a middle eastern restaurant. I know few good places in nyc which i always go to when visiting nyc, I thought i try this place out but was very disappointed.
