Stopped into Gregorys for a quick breakfast and it was exactly what I needed. I ordered the Deluxe with no cheese, a hot chocolate, and a hot blueberry muffin. The sandwich was fresh and filling, and they got the no-cheese request right with no issues. The hot chocolate was smooth and rich without being overly sweet. And that blueberry muffin? Warm, soft, and packed with flavor. Service was quick, the space was clean, and it’s a great spot to grab something before starting your day in the city. I’d definitely swing back in.

Gregory’s coffee is a cute chain. My first time going was a few weeks ago. We had ventured in to try a Christmas flavor, some food and check out the vibes. I got the Nu Mint and a caramel cold brew. The Nu Mint was a twist on hazelnut and peppermint and was super tasty (if you like your coffee sweet). The cold brew is a little more robust and made sweeter by the flavoring. We also got a jalapeño cheddar biscuit. It was savory and buttery and a little kick of spice, which was pretty good in its own right.

My family loved coming here in the mornings during our trip. My favourite was the cranberry walnut scone, especially that they warm it up. Great variety for coffee and matcha lovers. They also have a good selection for bakery and breakfast food. Service is fast, there was a good amount of seating available. No bathroom but worker said there’s one available across the street. The workers were very friendly and helpful. Place was also aesthetic and clean.

Gregory’s Coffee continues to stand out in the crowded New York City café scene with its perfect blend of quality, atmosphere, and service. Whether you're grabbing a quick espresso or settling in with a laptop, the experience is consistently satisfying. The coffee itself is top-notch—smooth, rich, and expertly crafted. Their skinny latte, in particular, has earned praise for its flavor and consistency. Beyond the drinks, Gregory’s offers a thoughtful menu with options for various dietary needs, including vegan and gluten-free choices. The food is fresh and flavorful, making it a great spot for a light breakfast or snack. The ambiance is another highlight: modern, clean, and welcoming, with relaxing music and seasonal decor that adds a personal touch. What truly sets Gregory’s apart is the staff. Multiple reviews mention the friendly baristas who go the extra mile—remembering returning customers and creating a warm, community-like vibe. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Gregory’s Coffee delivers a reliably excellent experience that feels both personal and professional. Highly recommended for coffee lovers who appreciate quality and care in every cup.

Gregorys Coffee I stopped by for a cappuccino, and it was really good! Smooth, rich flavor and perfectly made. Nice atmosphere and friendly service a great spot to grab a quick coffee.

One of the best iced vanilla latte I had in NYC and also the vegan croissant deluxe sandwich was delicious 😋. The service was inadequate, maybe the staff/cashier lady wasn't having a good day! She wasn't helpful enough and did not smile. Nevertheless, We took the coffees to go and the croissant to later. The cafe was opposite to our hotel, which was very convenient.

Great coffee shop with a wide array of selections. Very friendly staff with very quick service. I got the latte with almond milk, was made perfectly. They do have some seating space, great to get some work done or read a book.

Coffee was great, I had a hot Carda'mama. It’s a perfect spot for a light breakfast. The ambiance is another highlight: modern, clean, and welcoming, with good music and seasonal decor that adds a personal touch. Highly recommend for coffee lovers.

Daniel is absolutely one of our top picks overall. We had the 7 course tasters experience. We enjoyed everything! The food, the drinks, the service, all excellent! After a great dinner, we really look forward to a special desert. Daniel supplied all kinds of delicious sweet little goodies that we absolutely enjoyed. I also must note, which is important to me, the table & chairs are very comfortable. Everything was exceptional. Daniel did not charge any hidden fees or service & admin charges like some other restaurants that we've been to. Nor did Daniel charge us an automatic gratuity charge. Now that's what I call good business! Thank you! We will be back! Daniel is very worthy of its Michelin star!

This was my second time dining at DANIEL, and once again it reminded me why this restaurant is so special and why I return every time I’m in New York City. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine warmth and gracious hospitality. The host and the manager who seated us were welcoming, attentive, and made us feel truly cared for. Throughout the evening, the service was impeccable ,polished yet friendly, professional without ever feeling distant. The sommelier was exceptional, offering thoughtful wine recommendations that paired beautifully with each course. The tasting menu was a true work of art: beautifully crafted dishes, elegant plating, balanced flavors, and pairings that elevated the entire experience. Every course felt intentional and refined, yet comforting at the same time. One of the highlights of the evening was having the pleasure of meeting Daniel Boulud himself. Despite being incredibly busy and on his feet all evening, his passion for cooking and hospitality truly shines through. He took the time to stop, chat with guests, and make everyone feel welcome and happy a rare and meaningful gesture from a world-renowned chef. DANIEL is not just about extraordinary food; it’s about heart, warmth, and genuine hospitality. An unforgettable experience, every single time.

I recently visited with my sister, Tina Stewart, who has raved about Daniel for quite some time — and now I completely understand why. From the moment we arrived, the entire experience was nothing short of exceptional. The wait staff was absolutely top notch — Zach, Matt, and the bartenders all went above and beyond. Attentive, knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuinely kind. You could tell they take pride not only in their work but in the experience they create for every guest. The food… there truly are no words. Every bite was incredible. Flavorful, thoughtfully prepared, and clearly made with passion. Getting the opportunity to see the kitchen was an added bonus and only deepened my appreciation for the care and skill that goes into each dish. It was an amazing night filled with outstanding food and even better people. Experiences like this stay with you — they aren’t just meals, they’re memories. Until next year, I wish you all a fantastic year ahead. This is an absolute must-go place. If you get the chance, you owe it to yourself to have this experience at least once in your life. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

No restaurant is perfect and there is always room for improvement (e.g. I would have gone a little less browning on scallops), but it's hard not to rank Daniel as 5 on Food/Service/Atmosphere. I don't see Google reviews as place for detailed food critique :) While I can go on about how good the food was (do order the Cod!) what really stands out at Daniel is the staff. Extremely attentive and friendly without crossing the boundary of making you uncomfortable. I think that's what makes the magic of Daniel come through. As for food recommendation, you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu order your heart. I think they can make improvements for desserts (they sound more interesting than what they are - which is still great don't get me wrong). The only warning, if you are going for more than 3 dishes, be hungry! :)

Dining at Daniel is always an unforgettable experience, and last night’s Chef’s Menu reminded me once again why we return to Chef Daniel’s restaurants so often. Every single dish was a masterpiece, beautifully plated, thoughtfully crafted, and bursting with exquisite flavor combinations that are truly unique. It’s impossible to choose a favorite because each course was exceptional in its own way, both in taste and presentation. The entire experience felt refined, balanced, and remarkably harmonious. You can feel the passion, creativity, and precision behind every creation. We frequently visit Chef Daniel’s various restaurants, and each one has its own signature charm. Thank you for an extraordinary evening and a gastronomic journey we will always remember. We look forward to coming back soon. ✨

I recently visited Daniel in New York City and experienced their tasting menu, and the entire evening was truly exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the service was warm, welcoming, and incredibly professional. The staff guided each course with genuine knowledge and attention, making the meal feel effortless and perfectly paced. The tasting menu itself was a remarkable journey. Every dish was beautifully presented with meticulous detail, showcasing refined technique and bold yet balanced flavors. Each course felt intentional—textures, colors, and tastes coming together in a way that showed the kitchen’s skill and creativity. The ingredients were clearly top-quality, and the transitions between courses were thoughtful and harmonious. The wine pairings elevated the experience even further, complementing each dish without overwhelming it. The ambiance of the dining room added to the enjoyment—elegant, serene, and polished without feeling stiff or overly formal. It created an atmosphere where you could relax and truly savor every moment. Overall, my experience at Daniel was extremely pleasant and memorable. The tasting menu was refined, artful, and satisfying, and the impeccable service made the evening feel special from start to finish. I would gladly return for another celebration or fine-dining experience.

If I could give 10 stars I would. I’m on a journey to hit every Michelin star restaurant in the city , I’m at number 18 so far . The Daniel is the best one yet. Every thing was great. And chef Daniel came to the table to say hello.

Pleasantly surprised how nice this restaurant was - excellent value for the quality of food and service . You’ll get invited at the end of the meal to the kitchen to see where all the magic happens. Staff are hard working and take providing an excellent culinary experience seriously. Will be coming again when I’m next in New York!

We reserved Daniel for our Anniversary- it was a spectacular experience from beginning to end. I have dietary restrictions, and the chef was more than accommodating of them. Our Captain was Zach, followed by Serenity. I couldn’t give them a better review. Everyone we encountered was amazing. We highly recommend!

While visiting NYC recently, wanted to experience fine dinning that was quintessentially New York. In my research, Daniel came highly recommended I have had some really amazing fine dinning experiences in my local area of Australia and New Zealand but Daniel is at another stratospheric level of fine dinning. I am so glad that I actually had the opportunity to visit My first night's experience of the delightful Mushroom Consommé followed by the Wagyu Beef and finished off with the Fig + Cheese Cake dessert was so incredible, I had to come back a second night to try their other delectable offerings When I asked at the end of the first night if they were able to seat me the following night, the team was amazing and found me a spot The second night was just as phenomenal with the Scallop Carpaccio, Blue Fin Tuna and Moroccan Chocolate The service both nights was warm, welcoming and so personable which I so appreciate. The atmosphere was beautifully elegant. The food was at its own divine level of taste, textures and creativity A big thank you to Daniel, Brian, Peter, Alan, Jorje, Matthew and the greater Daniel team for making me feel so welcome and the whole experience at Daniel - both nights so amazing. I do look forward to being back at Daniel soon

Dining at Daniel was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. I have several dietary restrictions, and Matthew, the maitre d’hôtel, went above and beyond to make sure I felt completely safe and cared for. He worked seamlessly with the culinary team to design a custom five-course tasting menu that eliminated every concern without hesitation. The communication beforehand was outstanding — not only did they clearly confirm everything via email, but Matthew even called to assure me that preparations were made in the back to avoid any cross-contamination. That kind of detail and thoughtfulness is rare, and it set the tone for a worry-free evening. The food itself was unbelievable — beautifully prepared, balanced, and truly memorable. Between the flawless service, Matthew’s exceptional care, and the incredible dishes, this was an out-of-this-world dining experience. Daniel is a restaurant that takes hospitality and cuisine to the highest level.

Draft Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had the French bouillabaisse at Daniel and it was out of this world — rich, complex, and absolutely unforgettable. But what made the evening truly once-in-a-lifetime was having dinner at The Skybox, right inside the kitchen. Watching the brigade at work, every plate crafted like a symphony of art, was mesmerizing. You see the precision, the passion, the dedication to excellence in every movement. And then — meeting Chef Daniel himself. What a moment. He is not only a master of cuisine but also a gentleman of rare warmth and generosity. He made us feel unique, welcomed, and valued, taking time to speak with us with genuine sincerity. It wasn’t just a meal, it was an experience that touched the heart as much as the palate. Truly one of the most memorable evenings of my life.

Daniel is unequivocally one of my favorite fine dining restaurants in New York City, and every visit to Daniel is an indulgent journey into high-level gastronomy. I always choose the eight course tasting menu, and my two standout favorites over the years are their New York foie gras and Maine sea scallops, each bite exquisitely crafted. Every course arrives as a work of art, beautifully plated, deeply flavorful, and thoughtfully paced. It is the literal definition of culinary artistry and fine dining. The experience is elegant from start to finish. The service is polished yet warm, and the dining room is refined with coffered ceilings, sparkling chandeliers, and understated sophistication. Though the pricing is high, with the eight course menu running around $295 to $300 per person, for NYC standards this is absolutely worth it, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion or just want to splurge on truly memorable food. What saddens me is that Michelin currently rates Daniel at only one star, a puzzling demotion for a restaurant that consistently delivers excellence in execution and creativity. Daniel previously held two Michelin stars, and before that even three, which makes this latest rating feel like an injustice. Despite Michelin’s concerns about inconsistency, to me Daniel remains a gem, a place where passion for seasonal French cuisine meets meticulous presentation, and where each course showcases top tier ingredients like foie gras and scallops at their peak. Every visit reaffirms why it remains one of the finest and most reliable dining experiences in New York. In short, it is expensive, but absolutely worth it. If you are looking to celebrate or treat yourself, Daniel never disappoints.

I really enjoyed my time at Daniel last night. The restaurant has a lot of history and it's a really beautiful restaurant. The bar is amazing too. My server gave perfect service and I wish him the best. The presentation of the dishes were extremely creative like a work of art. Many 3 star restaurants don't have such creativity and presentation to their dishes. I really enjoyed the rabbit dish and the lamb saddle. The sauces paired with both of these dishes were amazing. I also enjoyed their array of breads to choose from as well as the cheese tray add on. That was excellent. Overall, I recommend coming to Daniel for an excellent meal, service, and a memorable experience. I've been to around 50 Michelin star restaurants so I can compare this restaurant to others. I think this restaurant is definitely worth a visit as it sets its self apart from other Michelin star restaurants.

Coffee was good, food was just okay. Was glad to see they had a selection of vegan breakfast options, including croissants! The coffee selection was unique, loved to see all the fun names and flavor combinations. Vegan deluxe is a good breakfast option for those on the go

Friendly staff, quick service, spacious place, seating seems available for work, various coffee beans on the shelf for purchase. We got a cappuccino and a latte both with oat milk. They are perfectly made and delicious. Would love to come again trying Love Affair.

I finally had the chance to dine at Daniel for my birthday and we opted for the 5-course prix fixe menu. Canapes: Excellent start. There was a uni bite I really enjoyed, though I wish I remembered the rest—it all went by quickly but set the tone nicely. Maine Sea Scallop Carpaccio: A solid beginning to the courses. The scallop paired beautifully with grapefruit—fresh, light, and delicious. Warm Seafood Fricassee: This one was interesting. It came with small pieces of snail, octopus, squid, mussels, a SINGLE small pieces of lobster, and scallop. The seafood itself was great, though the sauce threw me off—it had a peanut or nutty flavor that didn’t work for me (personal preference, since I’m not a fan of nutty sauces). The squid was also a little chewy. Funny enough, while I was jotting notes on my phone, the waiter came over almost immediately to check in and even offered to replace the dish. I appreciated the attentiveness but decided to keep it. Black Cod: Served with caviar and beluga lentils. The texture of the fish was tender and cooked well, though slightly bland. Pennsylvania Duck: Perfectly cooked—medium and tender—but I wasn’t a fan of the olives embedded in the duck or the pecan sauce, which I felt didn’t complement the dish. Mekonga (Dessert): A dark chocolate dessert with coconut milk jam. I didn’t get much of the coconut flavor, but overall it was a solid, well balanced dessert. They also served freshly baked madeleines at the end, which were decent but not particularly memorable. The chocolate piece with gold flakes looked pretty but didn’t taste special, and the mini coffee macaron was a definite miss for me. At the end of the night, they invited us into the kitchen for a quick look. It was a kind gesture, though there wasn’t much to see—nice touch, but not particularly rewarding… meh… Overall, I’d give Daniel a strong 4 stars. The service was exceptional—though it did slow down once the restaurant got busy, and we ended up waiting almost 30 minutes for dessert. Still, it was a great experience overall. A few dishes could use small tweaks. But, solid

Went here in morning as this cafe is one of tge early openers in manhatten. The coffee was average , however, the crossiants were amazing

I left my bag on one of the chairs and lined up at the counter. The staff was just organizing the pastry deck and did not recognize the customers at all. I waited for a minute and I just went back to my seat. I came back in a hour to order a hot decaf latte, but the staff did not ask for the type of milk and seemed tired of it. It took way longer to get my coffee and soon realized that they made a large size instead of medium. The latte was not too bitter and probably it was the best latter so far in New York. I'm not sure about the staffing, but the tables were not clean and there still were some used cups.

was fully reserved for the dining room but we still wanna try it out, so we were at the lounge. vibes were okay, moderate noise, service was great, food was kind of too ordinary, can’t remember any dish, beautifully presented but the flavor needs some improvements. in terms of the food, café boulud and maison barnes do better imo. overall still good to try out.

I took a friend to Daniel for a birthday dinner, a restaurant I had long been eager to try, but I left very disappointed. I opted for the three-course prix fixe: the scallop carpaccio was bland, and the duck was overly salty, tough, and greasy. The desserts, however, were excellent. Based on my experience, I suspect its Michelin star rests largely on presentation and pastry, rather than the overall quality of the meal.

The flat white tasted like lukewarm milky water. The inside of the cafe was dirty and disgusting. The only saving grace was that the staff tried to correct the issue, with a poor attitude. Premium prices for a subpar experience at best.

We came yesterday to grab an iced coffee before a long drive. I specifically asked for half the amount of sweetness in the psl and a caramel latte. He repeated the order back to me as I had placed it. When I got to the window I asked if the drinks were made and if not could they do light ice. The guy at the window said yes of course and just asked for payment. Did not turn around and tell the person who was making the drinks to put light ice.. strange. When we got the drinks the psl was unbearably sweet. We checked the tag and there was no mention of half sweetness or less pumps etc. Very disappointed. The ice was my mistake but he didn’t even do anything about it when he said he would. My drink came filled with ice. Long drive and not enjoyable coffee.

W
Weiyu Xu

The lady who took my order was super impatient. When it’s half way when she’s making the drink, she told me they don’t have the foam and I will have to go with it. But I paid the full price and excuse me? When I got the drink, there is no foam and the drink tastes completely different from the description(salted yolk etc). One min after I get the drink, the matcha powder start to clog. Cannot recommend this place at all

on Dec 25th the lady got upset we got there at 5:15 pm we were no allowed to move chairs knowing that the store closes at 6:00 pm. she started to yelled at the customers “ why you come to get coffee in christmas day just go home”. she took all the pastry and put it away at 5:30 pm. people keep entering the store and she keep telling them there were not food. worst people working here.

M

Shut the store 1 hr earlier than advertised. When we arrived 30mins before even this earlier time they weren’t doing any espresso drinks. Service=Rude. Also, totally inappropriate music being played for a family place. Much better places close by…
