Opinions de Serafina Osteria Central Park South
The atmosphere was good and the food tasted good. There was a food that I had never tried before, and it tasted really good. It was above average. It's been more than six months since I visited, but I still remember it as a delicious restaurant.
I tried the seafood pasta with black squid ink tagliatelle and the tiramisu, and overall it was a very enjoyable experience. The squid ink pasta was visually striking and flavorful. The seafood was fresh, the pasta perfectly al dente, and the cherry tomatoes added a nice brightness that balanced the richness of the dish. The sauce was light yet aromatic, letting the ingredients shine without feeling heavy. The tiramisu was delicate and well-presented, with a smooth mascarpone and a good coffee flavor. I would have loved a slightly stronger espresso kick, but it was still a satisfying and elegant dessert. Atmosphere was warm and inviting, service attentive, and the food presentation was beautiful. A solid choice for classic Italian dishes with a refined touch.
We had fantastic pasta here: Vongole, Carbonara, aglio e olio and the amazing limone! Service was very pleasant. Overall great place for a nice dinner with friends! 🇮🇹 🍝
I ordered the lemon pasta it was very nice mostly because of lemon sauce. I loved the lemon sauce it added a lot more flavor. I also loved the service it came so quick. The atmosphere was not as good, but almost perfect if not for construction. Of all the pasta places I have been to this has got to be my favorite.
I accidentally discovered this place, and it turned out to be such a wonderful surprise! The atmosphere is warm and cozy, the food is absolutely delicious, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back here several more times - it’s the kind of restaurant that instantly makes you feel at home.
We were visiting from Tennessee and craving some good Italian food. I Googled what Italian restaurants were near our hotel, and Serafina Osteria was one of a few. When I read their menu and saw dark chocolate soufflé was a dessert offering, that tipped the scales in favor of going there. Upon arrival, we were a bit worried when we saw that we were the only customers in there. It was already 6:45 PM on a Friday evening. However, we soon found out that there was certainly no need to worry at all! The host himself was from Rome and was very pleasant and hospitable. My husband and I ordered two different fresh pasta dishes, and neither of us were disappointed - quite the opposite. Our pasta and sauces were positively delicious as well as the side, vegetable dishes that we ordered. When it was time for dessert, we ordered that dark chocolate soufflé, but didn’t want the vanilla ice cream that was supposed to come with it. Our host suggested that we have some of their homemade whipped cream with the chocolate soufflé so we did. That soufflé was out of this world, and the homemade whipped cream was the perfect accompaniment. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I wish it was in my own neighborhood in Tennessee.
6/2025 good food, good atmosphere;lively and a little loud but not too loud. Food is good, wine reasonably priced. Salad; delicious. ----- 9/2024 great little neighborhood, Italian eatery. No pizzas here. Food was good, pricing was a little expensive as expected but not over the top, very nice outdoor dining area available in a small intimate atmosphere.
Absolutely love this restaurant. Literally just picked it off of google and went. It is super cute and cozy. We had great service. The food was absolutely phenomenal. We got grilled calamari to start bomb. I got the penna vodka I think it was the best pasta I ever had. My sister got the carbonara which was good very creamy and cheesy. My dad got a very simple pasta - homemade pasta and it was delicious. I got the chocolate temptation cake and it was probably the best cake I have ever had. I will be dreaming about this meal for a looooong time.
Went for the first time, made a reservation for dinner last minute on a weekday. Got there and got seated right away even my friend and I were still waiting for our other friend, the place was not that busy. The food was great. Ordered appetizer and it came out so fast, it was funghi alle erbe. My entree was linguine pescatora, so much seafood. Love the service and the staff were all friendly and attentive. Definitely going back if there is a chance.
A small restaurant but quite smart and the partially mirrored walls give the impression of a larger space. Good variety of food on the menu and a good selection of wines. I chose seafood - Spagettini Al Ricci di mare, their signature dish, which was amazing. It was a collection of seafood and it contained, lobster, monkfish, mussels and clams to name but a few, and in a slightly spicy tomatoey sauce. Probably the best meal I have had whilst in NYC. Excellent - Perfecto!
The service was very good. I recommend the Chocolate Tempation dessert. Galletto was ok, but had too many bones and it was hard to get to the meat. The petto di pollo was extremely thin. Overall, the food was good, but I found the servings smaller than in other restaurants in NY. The restaurant added 18% gratuity by default.
One of our go to mid-town eats. We’ve Ben coming here for years. Consistently good. Easy to access. The outdoor dining has really helped as it’s a small venue. If you’re in mid-town and looking for a place to get good Italian food the Osteria will not disappoint. Update!!!! Back again. Everything was excellent. Never disappointing.
Very decent Italian restaurant. Cute atmosphere. They have a lot of daily specials that are probably better on a piece of paper rather than being recited by the waiter. Food is served fast. Almost scarily fast. I didn’t even have time to eat the bread! Vodka pasta was not a hit for me. It didn’t have much flavour? I had the chocolate temptation desert. It was good. I don’t know if I’d come back for it though ~25-45 $ per person
I enjoyed the food here. The tagliolini aglio olio was honestly the best aglio olio I’ve had till date. It was the perfect blend of spicy and garlicky goodness. I requested them to make it without anchovies and they were very accommodating. The pennete alla vodka (which is with bacon fyi) was also good according to my friends. However, we found the cacio pepe a bit bland. Loved the desserts with espresso! The service was great.
Food is ok for the area. Had the ravioli and asparagus soup. The bread was hot and soft but then it turned hard like it was microwaved. I was expecting a bit higher end service and food for being right off park ave. Certainly wasn't bad but just expected more for $60 for entre and soup and a lemonade.
Is it normal to be charged a 20% tip for just 2 people without being informed in advance? The staff didn’t even say hi or thank you, I was actually the one who greeted and thanked them first. As for asking for food feedback, that was completely out of the question; they didn’t even come near our table.
It was one of those snowy days right after a blizzard in New York, and we'd been strolling around near Central Park. We decided to duck into this place called Serafina Asteria just to warm up and grab a cup of cappuccino to go. We asked for oat milk, but they didn't have it, so they offered almond milk instead. No big deal, we thought. But here's the thing: once we stepped back out, took a sip, it was just basically like drinking hot water with some vague hint of something. No coffee flavor, nothing. It was honestly the worst drink I'd ever had, and we just tossed it straight in the trash. I can't see myself ever going back there. Honestly, it felt like the worst money I'd spent on any food or drink in New York. So yeah, that's my take!
Terrible service! We came with a child, and they wouldn't let us sit at a table even though there were empty ones. We told them we just wanted to have a quick glass of wine and an ice cream for the child. They said we couldn't sit at a table with that order. They didn't even try to find a compromise; they just sent us outside!
