Casa Lever is simply one of the absolute best Italian restaurants in New York City. Every time you go, it’s a sure thing. The ambiance is beautiful. The room, the lighting, the artwork, everything feels elegant and thoughtfully designed. It’s classic New York with a refined Italian sensibility that runs through every detail. The food is spectacular. You can tell they use the best ingredients and care deeply about quality, down to the smallest touches. Everything feels intentional and elevated. The service is equally exceptional. Antonio, the maître d’, is wonderful. He is friendly, accommodating, and genuinely welcoming. The entire team makes you feel taken care of without ever being overbearing. And the attention to detail really extends everywhere. The bathrooms are immaculate and always have an attendant, stocked with beautiful products from Santa Maria Novella and Diptyque. It’s a small thing, but it says a lot about the level of care they bring to the entire experience. As part of the Sant Ambroeus family, Casa Lever represents the very top tier of what they do. It’s a true New York staple and has been for years. In my opinion, it’s one of the best.. if not the best Italian restaurant in the city.
Casa Lever was a delightful dining experience on all fronts. Once inside, it is easy to see the careful attention that was paid to the architectural design and craftsmanship. An original artwork series by Damien Hirst was displayed the length of one wall in the restaurant completing the scene. The service was friendly, effusive and there when needed. Our food was equally excellent with a range of flavors all of which never seemed to get in each other’s way. I give Casa Lever my highest recommendation.
Food that warms your heart and belly. A must try
I'd give it 6 stars if I could! Fantastic experience. Attentive staff, fun decor and, of course, delicious food. It was quite busy, but conversation was easy enough and service was impeccable. Our "go to" restaurant for a nice meal in NYC. Highly recommended!
If I could give Casa Lever seven stars, I absolutely would. The service was truly impeccable from beginning to end. At one point when I stepped away to use the restroom, they even covered my food so it wouldn’t get cold—that level of attention to detail is rare. Every time I needed a napkin, a fresh one would appear presented on a small platter, which just shows how thoughtful and polished the service is. To top off the evening, what I believe was one of the managers brought us a digestif to finish the night, which was such a lovely touch. The entire experience felt elevated and genuinely special. The atmosphere is incredibly chic, elegant without feeling stuffy, and it really makes the whole night feel like an occasion. Casa Lever is absolutely worth the experience, and I cannot wait to go back again.
Casa Lever sits inside the Lever House on Park Avenue and it is one of the great power lunch spots in Manhattan. The room is stunning mid-century modern architecture with Warhol originals on the walls and a clientele that reads like a who is who of New York business. The food is northern Italian done with precision and restraint every dish is clean well-executed and designed to let the ingredients speak. The branzino is flawless. The risotto changes seasonally and always delivers. The pasta is handmade and you can taste the difference from the first bite. What makes Casa Lever special beyond the food is the atmosphere of quiet confidence. Nobody is shouting nobody is performing. People come here to have conversations that matter over food that respects their time and palate. The service is polished and professional without being cold they know when to check in and when to leave you alone which is an art form most restaurants never master. The bar area before lunch is ideal for a quick meeting or a glass of wine while you wait. Park Avenue is full of restaurants competing for the business crowd and Casa Lever wins by not competing at all. It simply exists at a level that others aspire to. If you work in Midtown and you have not eaten here you are missing one of the best Italian meals within walking distance of your office. Clean elegant and always consistent.
Came here for lunch and it’s honestly a great place. Big table with plenty of room, some half-private cabins. During lunchtime, there is jazz background music. The place is a bit noisy. The Caesar salad was made with fresh anchovies. And the cacio e pepe pasta was also really well made. The waiters and the staff are very friendly. There is a special room for hanging your coats in case you’re coming in on a cold day.
10/10. This is an elevated restaurant experience. Wonderful, personal service from check in through the bill. Food was delicious, drinks were top notch. Can’t wait to come back.
If you haven’t dined at Casa Lever, you’re missing out on one of Manhattan’s most inviting indulgences. My waiter, Leo, was flawless — attentive, charismatic, and genuinely made me feel seen. He recommended a Cosmopolitan after I’d started with a French 75. I’ve never liked a Cosmo… until Leo changed my mind. (And just so you know, the French 75 here is so remarkable I told him he owes it to himself to revisit it.) When Leo took a break, a sweet waitress stepped in — I can’t remember her name, but her warmth and care kept everything seamless. Then came the Spaghetti with Bottarga — a dish that embodied the sea and elegance in every bite. Bottarga is cured mullet or tuna roe, often called “the caviar of the Mediterranean,” and when grated fresh over pasta it gives a briny, umami-rich flavor with a whisper of ocean air.  Paired simply with olive oil, garlic, citrus zest, and a touch of pasta water to emulsify it all, the strands of spaghetti turned silky, luminous, and deeply savory.  With each forkful I felt the flavors deepen and linger — that bittersweet moment when you almost don’t want it to end. The vibe was just as memorable. I ended up vibing with three other guests at the restaurant, and the evening was so effortless and warm that I completely forgot all my plans. Between the cocktails, conversation, pasta that sings of the sea, and an atmosphere that welcomes you like an old friend, Casa Lever offers nights you won’t want to leave — and will dream about after.
Our reviews had over 56 million views in the last 12 months. We do not get paid we just love to eat and have fun. We really love Casa Lever. Appetizers are awesome and be sure to have the octopus if they have it and the burrata which is about the creamiest I have ever had. Best carbonara in town. She loved the mushroom raviolis. Desserts are to die for, if you are lucky they have the special chocolate hazelnut cake with cream inside which will make your hair on your arm stand up. I included photos of the panna Cota dessert with is a 10 plus as well as a bottle of wine that was "very" sweet but if you ladies want a white wine that is almost as sweet as a dessert wine this one is recommended by the joint and was perfect (at least that is what she said). Also photo of the prosciutto. She is Italian and said it is some of the best ever. Definitely this place is a winner Check out all of our reviews and look at all the photos below. Came here for a work dinner and was pleasantly surprised. I had the duck breast and it was well cooked, plus the foie gras is a nice added touch. The hamachi appetizer was skippable (expensive and the stuff sprinkled on top took away from the fish, plus the fish quality wasn’t the best). Service and atmosphere was excellent!
This place is just such a treat with some of the best outdoor seating in the city. It’s been around forever. The service is impeccable. It’s the big brother restaurant to sant ambroeus but is significantly better in quality. It’s a great after work happy hour for people watching too. This is where you’ll find your 6’5 blue eyed finance guy. Carbonara is the weakest dish imo.
Have dined at Casa Lever at least a half dozen times throughout the years. It serves up a very modern and sleek northern Italian dining experience versus an establishment like Cellini (another great Italian restaurant in the area) that has more of the traditional Italian setting. Casa Lever is a great spot to meet clients for lunch in Midtown or friends after work for a drink when the outdoor bar is open. The food and service have always been solid. When this restaurant originally opened, they had the most amazing artwork inside. That alone was a great reason to visit! Now you go back for the fantastic food and atmosphere.
I had the pleasure of dining at Casa Lever shortly after their reopening, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The effort they put into the revamp truly showed, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly complemented the excellent dining experience. The highlight of the evening was definitely the food. I highly recommend trying the Veal Osso Buco; it was a true culinary delight that left me craving more. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the dish was cooked to perfection. I also want to give a special mention to Adam, our waiter, who provided top-notch service throughout our meal. He was attentive, friendly, and truly enhanced our overall dining experience with his excellent care and attention to detail. In conclusion, my experience at Casa Lever was nothing short of fantastic. From the delicious food to the impeccable service, everything exceeded my expectations.
Oh my expensive, but wait, wait, Oh so good. Fine dinning at it's best at the best level of Italian food. We did Thanksgiving dinner here with no regrets. The service was a 10 out of 5, not enough stars. I had the Pasta with clams, one of my favorites anywhere and this was the best. The Caesar salad had the proper anchovies and the croutons were home made and I could have eaten a bowl of those. Well done by all. Ya parking, well it is New York, good luck
All clean and shiny....great food and service returns. Carciofe and Parmigiano was delicious. Prosciutto carved just right. I like that Casa Lever lists all their suppliers. Osso buco hit a home run. We overindulged on desserts and pasta. Should sleep well tonight with take home treats for tomorrow.
It was fine dining at this northern Italian themed restaurant. It was all excellent from the start of the meal with prosciutto to the end with raspberry crostata. The service was beyond accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere was calm and very relaxing. The place itself was described by my family as being in a space ship or ocean liner. For me it was just pure elegance.
Happy to have found this place after spending the day at MoMA and before my plane back home. Each staff interaction was excellent starting at the coat check at front. Staff parted ways in the dining room as I headed to the restroom. Menu was all over the board catering to all tastes and adventurous levels...featuring well made Italian recipes. I had some fresh Cantabrian anchovies and vermicelli with bottarga....both were amazing. Their bread service is dynamite too. I ate at bar, bartender dealt with my average attempt to speak Italian and engaged with me although didn't force it. Nice that restaurant had plenty of Italian staff members in general. Everyone was focused and on same page. Bring your wallet as all these fresh ingredients will cost you. Wines by the glass were a little more expensive than should be, but it was just to keep up with ambiance and food price point. Was like eating in a museum too with several Warhols. Drinks were named after art too. There were some very minor technical service deficiencies and service started a little slow, but not enough to negate overall great experience. Well done.
Came here for a team outing with a group of 9 for their restaurant menu. The deal was $60 for appetizers, a main and a dessert. The food was good but portion sizes of our mains were pretty unimpressive. Desserts were larger than our mains which seemed silly as it was individually given. But overall still delicious. A good corporate spot
Go to see what remains of the original famous mid-century modern dining room. The renovation is sad - and appears to have been done on the cheep. The food is just fine - but Park Ave expensive while not in any way inventive, interesting, or devine. There is so much better Italian cuisine to enjoy in NYC.
