Opinions de Dear Irving on Hudson New York
Cozy place very close to broadway. The drinks and the food were great. The lamb burger was incredible and the Joyce beer was by far one of the most delicious beers I’ve ever tried. The waitress was very kind. If you’re looking for a place where to sit, talk and have great food, this is it!
Our experience at The Joyce was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, our waiter Carlos provided impeccable service—kind and always attentive to our needs. The food exceeded our expectations from start to finish. For appetizers, we enjoyed chicken wings and a delicious artichoke and cheese dip accompanied by pita chips. For the main course, we chose a variety of burgers and sandwiches, all well prepared and exquisitely flavorful. The grand finale was the desserts: an apple pie with ice cream and a brownie with pistachio ice cream—simply delightful. The price-quality ratio is great, especially considering the location of the establishment. Without a doubt, we will return on our next visit to the area. God bless!
Attentive service and great food and drinks. Also the atmosphere is great! Nice decor.
The Joyce Public House is an absolute gem! The drinks are top-notch—expertly crafted and consistently delicious. Whether you’re into classic cocktails, craft beers, or something new, there’s something for everyone. But what really sets this place apart is the service and atmosphere. Kevin was our bartender/server and was super sweet and provided great customer service! It’s warm, inviting, and full of energy without being overwhelming. Perfect spot for lunch or a drink on the go a night out with friends or a casual evening to unwind. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area!
The loveliest place! Like a home away from home. The staff are so helpful, such a delight to go here. The food is amazing also, I had the mushroom tagliatelle-there was so much flavour, just perfect. 11/10 recommend, please go here if you’re close by. Dianna (I think her name is) is an angel aswell, such a lovely soul. So a big thank you for her for looking after us, we hope to see you soon<3
The Joyce is a hidden gem of the city, a great little place to eat or have drinks, the staff are friendly and make you feel so welcome, they were amazing with my 8 year old daughter and it was a great place to celebrate new years eve. We visited a few times over our weeks stay and were never let down, the food, service and value for money was always good, plus as we were staying on the same street we received a 10% discount. I was even given dessert when they found out it was my birthday. The manager Ruiari was really nice and all servers were great but Carlos went above and beyond for us each visit. Would definitely visit again.
Went here for happy hour for great value dishes and drinks. It was a great experience with friendly staff. Food came quickly as well. The portions were generous and tasty, especially the quesadillas and mussels. The kids loved the mozzarella sticks and dirty fries. If you are looking for comfort bar food, this is the place to go.
Choosing a place to dine in NYC can be overwhelming, simply due to the sheer numbers and varieties of options. We stopped in this establishment mainly due to the proximity of our hotel. As it turns out, it was a indeed a good choice. They offer a good selection of comfort foods, and gourmet selections. Pricing are reasonable in comparison. The staff was attentive to our needs, and entrees were done in a timely manner. The interior of the dining area was nicely furnished to provide a cozy ambience. Overall, a good place to dine in for dinner, or just to have a drink with family or friends.
The food was delicious phenomenal. I went twice in two days because there were too many choices I wanted to try! The second time I went with a group of 18 and the service for the group wasn’t quite as good. Just a little slow but considering the size of the group not horrible.
Classic pub atmosphere with a relaxed, local crowd. Drinks were well made and the vibe is easygoing, a good spot to catch up or unwind after work. Service was friendly and casual, exactly what you expect from a neighborhood pub. Grab a seat at the bar for the best experience and conversation.
Such a great meal. I would give the food 2 extra stars if I could. The lamb burger was perfect flavor, balance, and size. The fries were good. The shepherds pie is some of the best i have had outside of Ireland. The bartender, she makes amazing Old Fashions! Went for drinks last night. Tonight for food. I wish we were staying longer, we would go back again. It was a nice atmosphere. Live music tonight. So good. Service was ok. A little slow. But they were friendly. We are glad we went. It was right next to our hotel! Super convenient!
Really nice pub with lots of space. It was quiet when i was there on a weeknight, but I'm sure it gets packed. I tried their lamb burger with a Brooklyn lager for dinner. The burger was huge and unwieldy, but very good. The staff were friendly and my server, Marisol, was very attentive. Prices are very reasonable too and they even proactively offered a discount for staying at Candlewood Suites nearby. This place made my night and I would definitely come back.
It was a sweet surprise in the heart of New York. Had Premier League playing and the US Open, great for International sports viewing. Food was delicious and happy hour deals were amazing! We got seating very quickly and served the same. Recommend if you’re in the mood for a cozy Irish pub. Only critique I have is the mocktails, be sure you’re a fan of the ingredients before ordering.
Large indoor pub atmosphere (without the smell of stale beer) with a great menu and fast turnaround. It was surprisingly quiet. Food was very good and waiters super attentive. Great for lunch meetings. My guest remarked at the surprisingly good pick and said he'd return. Can't get a better review than that.
We had a wonderful evening with my family. Jesus took great care of us and made us feel right at home. I wanted a cocktail that wasn't on the menu, and Jesús offered to make it for me using the bar's cocktails. The view and service were excellent!
It’s really a good place for date and girls chat. Jesus (yes that’s his name) was our server and he was very patient checking on us often to check our needs. Because kitchen was close at 10pm and we were asking for nuts. He got us some for free even after kitchen ours. Anyway fantastic experience
this place is SPECTACULAR!!! Karlo was so attentive, kind, and made the entire experience! We were looking for a cocktail spot after our show, and are so glad we chose Dear Irving! Each drink was crafted and curated… and had the most amazing views! we just loved it! and a big thank to Karlo who was amazing!!
Dear Irving is such a beautiful rooftop bar with upscale décor and breathtaking views of the New York City skyline. We arrived at the Aliz Hotel and were greeted by a friendly hostess who let us know there’d be a short wait, about 20–30 minutes, which went by quickly as we hung out in the lobby. Once upstairs, the rooftop seating felt a bit tight but still cozy and intimate, creating a great atmosphere for late-night drinks. Our waitress was attentive, and the cocktails were excellent. We didn’t get a chance to try the food since we arrived after midnight, but we’re definitely looking forward to coming back for dinner or a sunset visit next time!
Dear Irving on Hudson was a vibe! Drinks were excellent. Food options were a bit limited, but still delicious. We lucked out with a window seat, skyline views were amazing. This can be a cozy spot with friends or a cute romantic spot for date nights. Our server Noé was the sweetest and truly made the night. Would definitely go back!!
Dear Irving on Hudson Rooftop is the perfect spot for city views, good vibes, and great cocktails. The atmosphere is lively, especially around sunset, and the skyline views are unbeatable. Our team celebrated a big milestone here, and everything—from the service to the setting—was fantastic. Highly recommend making a reservation!
Carlos our bar assistant and representatives of the hotel, has been amazing. I already knew we would be staying at this hotel again. But Carlos has sealed the deal. Polite Respectful Good listener lol Attentive All round a credit to your hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
This place is amazing!!! The view is breathtaking!!! Drinks are so tasty that you just want to keep ordering. Small nice bites and the service out of control, just in point, our server Karlo, was so attentive that my wife felt like we were in VIP table, we never had an empty glass, great ambient and drinks, definitely very recommended
This place is a fantastic rooftop bar! 🍸 Dear Irving serves a wonderful selection of cocktails 🍹, wine 🍷, and alcoholic drinks! 🥃 Staff is friendly and the service is quick. ⏲️ The place is beautifully decorated 🛋️, have incredible views 🪟 of the city 🌆, ambience 🎶 is great, and the music 🎵 is awesome with a live DJ! 🎛️ I wish I came here sooner and more often!
Whether one’s looking to get those perfect Instagrammable city skylines or a drink with friends or colleagues under the sun, rooftop bars are a warm-weather must in Gotham. They are popular. So don’t expect a quiet, intimate evening. The crowds can sometimes take away from the relaxing vibe, but hey, it’s New York, and there’s always something to look at. Located on the 40th floor inside the Aliz Hotel, my company hosted a milestone celebrating 30 years in the US and 20 years in the UK at Dear Irving On Hudson yesterday. Reservation is highly recommended. Upon arrival by elevator, guests were treated with a glass of champagne in a small, lively, and welcoming 007-themed interior with classy speakeasy-style lounge chairs and couches. A selected menu with choices of unique cocktails, beer, wine, and other mixed drinks were offered as well as trays of appetizers, i.e., Chicken Empanadas, Sliders, Tuna, and Falafel Balls being passed around by the staff. We also had catered food consisting of Filet Mignon, Salmon and Pasta. For entertainment, Dan played magic on the guitar and set up photo booth to make this event memorable. The two small outdoor balconies with some seating provided a panoramic view of the surrounding cityscape, deemed breathtaking, of the Empire State Building, One World Trade, Hudson Yards, the Chrysler Building, the Statue of Liberty, and a gorgeous sunset. Huge thank you to the staff at Dear Irving On Hudson, especially Edwin, Stafford, and Lisa, for making our experience enjoyable. As first-timers, all boxes were checked with the view, the ambiance, the drinks, and the bites, which we could recommend.
What an awesome place! Views are Amazing, drinks and food were great and service from the waiter was above and beyond. We went for our anniversary and they gave us a beautiful card and complementary drink at the end of the night. Would definitely recommend Thank you for making this night super special 🩷

Amazing views and tasty drinks. Loved the ambiance. The filet mignon appetizer was also delicious.
Irish Pub near Port Authority Station. Popped into this joint while meeting with a friend. I went during happy hour and ordered various frozen drinks and also some eats. I ordered the fish tacos, and quite honestly i was very surprised, my expectations for bar food is well adjusted but yes, that fish was one of the most moist, and supple fried fish ever, even for a bar; so i was quite impressed and surprised by the quality of the fish tacos. now on other hand, i ordered their 10$ frozen margaritas and pina colada; now it wasn't bad by any means, it felt a bit short on alcohol or rum, i tasted a lot of mix and sugar, but not much alcohol, and mind you, i have very low tolerance for alcohol now, so it must of been quite absent. The staff was nice and attentive, and I would go back, perhaps this time, beers, and most of all, that fish taco again.
They were understaffed. We and all the tables around us were waiting for the server for various needs - ordering, drink refills, check, etc. The person filling our water was attentive so we had to communicate via him a couple times. We were stressed because we had a show to go to. On the positive side, the place had a warm, inviting atmosphere, reasonably priced drinks and food, and great vegetarian options. My husband and I liked our entrees - cod and a mushroom flatbread. The Joyce Amber was good too. I would come back on a night when we have no time constraints.
Typical burger joint but a great find for that part of the city. Reasonable prices and moderately good food. Very large interior (unusually so for midtown). Perfect for a quick meal before a show. I'd go back.
Dear Irving was a really nice experience overall. The ambience and view were top notch. The food was super tasty, big kudos to the chef. I did find it a little pricey though… for example, $15 for just four tiny goat cheese croquettes felt a bit much (see picture). Drinks were amazing, every round we ordered had the same quality, so big respect to the bartender. Service could be better, it was a bit slow and sometimes we had to wait too long for the server to check in, or even get up and look for someone. Still, great spot with great vibes. We’ll be back again.
A retro-chic rooftop bar atop the Aliz Hotel on the 40th and 41st floors, with panoramic indoor and outdoor views—including landmarks like the Empire State Building. It offers a stylish, intimate vibe—great for couples or small groups—with cozy seating nooks and creative cocktails. Excellent views are the highlight—one reviewer said it’s “so much better than paying $79 to go to the top of the ESB” for the cost of a drink.
Fantastic space on the top floor of the hotel. Great for public consumption or a private event. Beautiful both inside and out. Comfortable lounge seating inside and fantastic views from the veranda. …

Quite a horrible experience. I had the most salty sweet potato fries I have ever tasted, they were just covered in salt, uneatable. Really don’t understand why, cause otherwise they would have been quite good. The burger bun was not good either. The waiter didn’t hear our order of the beer correctly, took the wrong one away, but then still charged us. Also I ordered red wine, but got white, but at least there the waiter acknowledged that he mixed things up (the wine was pretty bad btw). Crème brûlée was too sweet, the chocolate cake didn’t have the right texture. 20% tip was added automatically to our group of 4. Really don’t understand how they can have such a high score.
I am rating this off my son and my second visit. He brought me to NYC to celebrate my 70th birthday. The pub was right next door to our hotel. Our first night in down we stopped in for happy hour. Had a very nice waiter, reasonably priced happy hour drinks and an appetizer. The second night on the way back from celebrating my birthday we decided to stop in before going back to the hotel. We were not even there for 1&1/2 hours as the bar closed at midnight. I had house Chardonnay and my son had well drinks, gin and tonic. We each had a couple of shots of Bailey. The bartender was not personable and as he wanted to clear the bar by midnight he brings one of those stupid card readers around and charges you without ever presenting a bill. Unfortunately my son did not asked for a receipt. Imagine his surprise when he checked his account later and the total was $150. How we spent that much in that amount of time is beyond me. Something does not add up ASK FOR A PRINTED RECEIPT BEFORE PAYING. WOULD NEVER GO BACK!
We were super disappointed with this place. Sat down and the bartender told us the kitchen was closed but we could order drinks. This was surprising because it was only 9:30 and the hours said they closed at midnight. Decided to stay for a few drinks since it was our last night in NYC and it was close to our hotel. The bartender was talking to another customer nearby said several times that “it was slow so they were going to close soon.” She continued her conversation with him and took at least 10 minutes to take our drink order. 2 other groups walked in not long after us and were immediately told it was last call even though we had been told it was ok for us to stay when we had asked to close out. Not sure if this is a regular practice on slower nights but it made the whole experience super uncomfortable. We only stayed long enough to finish our drinks. Sad that the good reviews were so misleading. Would have chosen to go to one of the other bars we had enjoyed instead of wasting our time here
