Freshly prepared order. My Stromboli filled me before I finished it.
Great place when you’re looking for a slice.

Great basic pizza spot.
Wonderful cheese slice, nice service. Classic pizza joint.
Better pizza and friendlier service than anywhere else in the neighborhood. George's is an institution.

Amazing little place highly recommend very good food and amazing funny people
Always love to grab a bite to eat here during my commute
Love that they have gluten free pizza.
Excellent pizza along with excellent customer service.
Great gyros and pizza. Old fashioned NYC Pizza
been eating at george's for years. big slices, never soggy, always nice and crunchy! my favorite pizza place!
Tiny pizzaria store very modest, but I like their pizza the best. Good sauce and thin crust.
I love the Pizza here, great taste staff is very professional and it's good for your pocket also
One of the best Pizza shops in the Heights. Although George himself has retired, the care that goes into the Pizza remains.
Today I tried something other then a slice... I had bake ziti .. top bake ziti I've had out of a fast pace pizza shop.
Best pizza in the heights my whole family loves it
I've been going here since I was 17 years old, now I'm in my 50's and the pizza tastes the same
Some of the tastiest pizza I've had but I'm probably just a happy tourist
HUGE pizzas that taste GREAT!!! Best pizza in the area, in my opinion.
Great quality nyc style pizza 🤩
Best pizza in NYC. I don’t care what anyone says. It’s the best pizza.
My favorite pizza in the city. Cheap and tasty, garlic knots are also great.
Very good sauce could be a bit better more old style italián pizza
Good sauce, good fried chicken style wings! Update: 8 months and many orders later, pizza is still awesome, wings have amazing texture, and nice people! Highly recommend
Best pizza spot ever! There lasagna is delicious and that cheese hmmmmm! Plus the zeppole too! It's a institution here in the heights being coming here since I was a kid now I pass it on to my kids! Nothing beats hands down made not like the other franchise pizzas around here! If you want real New York pizza this is it!
Yummy slices, good price and the sidewalk entrainment is free... lol.. Their white pie is also delicious! The guys behind the counter are great! Always good food.
I enjoy pizza all over the 5 boros and have many favorites . George's is one of them..Nothing fancy. Just a NYC pizza joint that produces great tasting pies...
Sicilian pizza is the best
Pizza is always consistent and very good. Staff very friendly and the seating - well typical pizza joint. Prices are also very reasonable.
I used to get slices here when I was in high school and after a long absence from the city, I'm so glad George was still here. Great slices, great people running it. This is a Heights institution.
Been eating here since 1993. Anywhere I go I always find myself comparing the pizza to the one I grew up with: George’s. This place is a gem. Large pies, great crust, perfect stringy-yet-rubbery cheese w just enough sauce.
Made fresh by hand! Hot and fresh from the oven! Workers are nice and friendly. My place to eat for lunch.
Santiago really knows how to make some fresh pizza!! Perfect size slice for the price!!
Love the pizza here. Quality. Thick crust. Generous portions. Reasonable price. One of my favorite lunch places.
Best pizza in the neighborhood and very fast delivery! Staff is very friendly and provides great service. This is our go-to spot.

Our preferred pizza place- every New Yorker's gotta have one, and George's is ours. Come in here for a classic slice or pie- that's what they do best, and it's all you need
I go there a lot eating there is much better than getting delivery. But hot and out of the oven the pizza is delicious. It's also huge slices that fill you up.
Excellent pizza!! I have not been to George’s in five years . It did not disappoint. Still awesome pizza ! Highly recommend. We got pepperoni, mushroom , and onions . Their sauce is still amazing .
My favorite pizza place in the neighborhood the chicken pizza is the best
The food is great. The pizza is very solid, excellent crust, cheese that achieves that ideal even melt, tangy sauce. The sides are just as good if not better - while in most small pie shops like this one the sides will be kind of an afterthought, here they're fantastic. The service really makes this place stand out, especially if you're a regular. The staff remembers you, smiles, and have frequently added small bonuses, like an extra garlic knot or mozzarella stick, to my orders. I highly recommend this pizzeria both to locals who want a regular spot, and to visitors who want a taste of that legendary old fashioned small business New York pizza shop experience, which is rarer and rarer nowadays.

The slices are huge and inexpensive
Great gyros and crispy hot wings, Pizza is average.
Good value, though it's not the kind of place to travel an hour for
Juss ordered my situation.Bout to See wassup in a min when it get here.
Very happy with this pizza. Best in the neighborhood.
Washington Heights does not provide a lot of options when it comes to take out, and often, you find yourself settling for food that's just ok. But if you live within George's delivery area, you won't have to settle where pizza is concerned. This is solid NY pizza, tasty and reliable. George's has been an institution here for years, and has made some top pizza lists -- I think it was Timeout NY that included it in its top 100 pizza places in NYC. Try ordering your pie thin crust.
I had the lasagna tonight, and it was actually very good. It wasn't oily like at many other places, and the portion was generous. The staff were working hard too. Thumbs up!
Excellent typical Italian Pizza in the neighboardhood! You need to try out the White Pizza with my personal touch that is adding 🥓!!! Waooooo! You’ll be wanting more and more but it’s very satisfying!
Great place. No nonsense eatery. Best pizza and best Sicilians. Not very big but it's nice when you can get a seat.
George's has the best pizza in the area, and I've had my fair share of pizzas. Not to mention, their renovation this summer came with an all new menu that includes Chicken Gyros! Finally I can enjoy what they've won awards for (Lamb is just not my thing.) Great place, def worth a visit.
Thank you so much! I RAN into this place, about to miss my bus at GW station and they were so kind and really provided a fresh out of the oven slice as fast as they could. Maybe I was just starving after sprinting through the city but it was also delicious with true flavor in the sauce and the appropriately chewy but thin and a little crispy dough. Would like to go back when I don’t have to lose half the cheese in my bag while running back to the bus station. Also pretty cheap!
I absolutely love George's been coming here since I was a kid growing up in the neighborhood. Was away for a long time and now that I'm back George's was one of the first places I hit up. I go there weekly to grab a slice.
My go to pizza spot. Pizza is good, def try the margherita or Sicilian pie. Their garlic knots are not worth the price, they need to be bigger.
I'm new-ish to the neighborhood, so I've only been going to George's for about a year, but it's the only pizza place I go to here! My roommates and I got it the day we moved in, and continue to order it. It's delicious, the sauce is tasty, the crust is a thicker than usual NY crust (but you can order thin if you prefer) and it's always delivered hot. The owner and one of the other guys (who delivers) are so nice, always friendly. When you go in and order a slice, they give you a garlic knot with it. They've been rated as part of the top pizza places on a few lists and reviews, and I agree with them.
Small pizzeria shop that has been in Heights over 20yrs. New owners still following George's recipes. Pizza is in top 3 ranked from uptown. They need to improve on customer service.
Hole in the wall, but been there for 50+ years. They make a decent slice though, better than the standard neighbourhood pizza game. Also, they give a sh!t about their pizza and customer satisfaction, which reflects in my conversations with the counter guys who are excited annoy what they're doing. Don't order from Domino's next door, that's just plain stupid, get a better pie at this joint.

Small place, good pizza and friendly staff.
It was not the tastiest, the dough was not our favorite, the slices are very big tho.
A bit pricey but they are friendly and the pizza-is good. I ordered a 3 cheese pizza it was 3 50
Not the original owner. Pizza is similar but not the same. Pizza was OK, but nothing to go out of the way for.
My dinner was ok. The garlic bread wasn’t anything special... bunch of pepper and oregano.
i wanted to love this place so bad! ordered stuffed shells, good sauce, lots of mozzarella YUM! then.... the ricotta inside the shells tasted as if it was previously frozen, a freezer burn taste. sucked ;( so sad
The food was delicious ravioli with spinich on top, baked ziti and buffalo wings, and it was delivered quickly...but I gave it three stars for the false advertisement, I order from grub hub and there was a coupon that states spend 20 bucks and get 2 medium pies and a free soda, it did sound too good to be true but that is what it says...and guess what I only got a free soda no pizza they claim the coupon is wrong n it's supposed to say spend 20 and get a free soda smh...so if that's what your ordering for like I did don't...but for good pasta and wings, yes.
2 slices and a can of soda or bottle water $5.50. Not bad for a quick lunch. Pizza is ok, crispy thin crust nice sauce.
On the strength of the rave reviews (4 stars with 26 reviews), our family began ordering pizzas here last year after a couple years of being disappointed with others in the neighborhood, but now, after six or seven times having pizzas delivered (mostly plain, but once or twice with a topping or two), we're calling it a failed experiment. The sauce is straight from a can, the crust too thick and chewy and the cheese not browned. Oddly, when stopping in off the street, an individual slice, if reheated not fresh, comes with the cheese a little more browned and the crust a little crispier, which is much better.
Really not great like a 4/10?
George’s has been here forever. Decent slice of pizza. Solid deal, 2 slices and a can of coke or bottle of water for $5.50

Nasty ass pizza taste cheap I should’ve known because the slices were big
When George owed the Business, food quality was better,it disappointing.
You dont know what you get. . They can't follow directions. It's good. But they have messed up 2 times . One more try . And if they mess up , I'm done
They forgot a slice of pizza I ordered and gave me a credit. I ask them if I could order through grubhub and get the credit and they said no I had to go get it in person. I call the next day and they said I could get it through grubhub just leave a message about the credit. My food comes without the credit and the wrong flavor of drink. They bring the right drink and pizza. The pizza was BURNT all on the bottom and had cheese that wasn't even melted. Not worth my money and not ordering again especially with RUDE delivery boys.
How the mighty have fallen. What had once been one of New York City's most elegant and beautiful restaurants, with amazing food, is not even a shadow of its former self. Yes, the decor is still handsome, but nowhere near what it was in its heyday. More a well-appointed mausoleum than anything else. The service was all right, but the food quite awful. The smoked salmon was dry and flavorless, the lamb only adequate, and the Beef Stroganoff (which, whatever it was, wasn't Beef Stroganoff) this side of inedible. Adding insult to that inedibility were the prices. Outrageously expensive. The Russian Tea Room completely lost its way a good quarter of a century ago and has long lost any reason for being. I'm awarding two stars only for old time's sake. Very sad. And very bad.
Pizza taste old, was burn like reheated, pizza was cold.
Absolutely terrible customer service, second time within the span of a month that I’ve gotten into a verbal altercation with this specific pizzeria. If you can’t answer a phone without attitude & attend to customers in a civil manner don’t run a business.
Its used to. W good but something about the cheese if ls off.
I ordered a meatball parm. Online it says $6, in store it says $6. The guy charged me $7. When I asked why the difference, he just smirked. I wasn't going to take it, but being in the food industry myself, I just paid. He even asked if I lived in the neighborhood, like to find out if he could get over on me. Even if its delicious I will not be back. And my friends in the neighborhood that referred me, will not be back either.
I recently had food poisoning from their greek chicken salad. My father got sick too a few months ago but they were dismissive and did not believe me. I actually thought it was something else my father ate and thought maybe we were wrong. but when I had the same exact salad this week and got sick, I realized it was not in my head. I will no longer order from here. this place meant so much to me.
HORRIBLE. If there was something less than 1 star I would've selected it. They are late with the orders and blame the customer. This man had the audacity to say it was my fault because they are in 181st and I'm on 199th so I could deal with the additional 20-minute wait (after I had ordered an HOUR ago) or cancel. I said that was unfair but I wasn't cancelling. I waited 25 more minutes and called again to find out they had cancelled anyway. GARBAGE IDIOTS!!!
DO NOT ORDER HERE. Delivered us the wrong pizza and never sent the right one to replace it. Be warned: their GrubHub menu is a mess and they won’t replace your food if they make a mistake and send you the wrong thing. I called and told them they sent us the wrong order. They argued with me for a long time before eventually telling me they would replace my order. They still charged me for the garlic bread they did send. The delivery guy told me it would be coming out of his paycheck if I didn’t pay for it and that his boss is cheap and abusive. We waited for two hours before giving up and ordering Chinese food. Worst experience I’ve had ordering food in nyc. And apparently they treat their employees terribly.
Was a regular till today. Through grub hub, I ordered 2 slices plus other things. When the food arrived only got one slice. Called the place, Apparently I didn’t order the two slices together, instead did it separately, yet on the same order. (makes no sense). The guy on the phone said it was my fault they didn’t notice. When I asked if It can be delivered since I obviously paid for two slices, he said the delivery guy would not make a delivery for a single slice. On top of that he refused to give me a refund. Don’t even care for the two dollars, just the fact that he wants to blame his mistake on me. So much for customer service. Like I said , was a regular and so are many of my friends and family who live in the area. After I told everyone, they’re refusing to eat there again.
This evening, I ordered a Sicilian pizza from George's Pizza on the Slice app. The pizza came right away as it usually does. I took a bite and noticed a sour smell. I took another bite, and the smell was still there. I then cut off the crust and ate that; it tasted just fine. I then tried a piece of cheese, which tasted fine. There's something wrong with the sauce or the bread that makes it inedible. There is a strong sour smell; maybe they left the sauce or dough out too long, and it went bad. This is what George's Pizza sent to me. I used the Slice app to complain about the pizza, and the response that was relayed back to me in the Slice chat from George's Pizza was that there is nothing wrong with the pizza. They said it was prepared normally, and there is no refund. This is simply bad customer service. I've been a loyal customer of George's Pizza for many years, and they even got me through the pandemic! There are a lot of pizza places nearby. They will get my business in the future, not George's Pizza. Tonight's pizza is in the trash can. I deleted the Slice app when it wouldn't let me download the chat conversation. Other food order apps can order pizza and have much better customer service when there's an issue.

I ordered two slices of white pizza from this shop for delivery based on the fairly good reviews. I order white pizza specifically because I have a tomato allergy, and can't eat red sauce. I guess the shop had run out of white slices and didn't want to make a new pie. They had scraped off the toppings from red slices, and slapped on some white to "make" a new white slice and re-baked it. To add insult to injury, my husband tried it and said it tasted like cardboard. It's one of the most egregiously horrible things I've seen done to food in recent memory. It's worth noting that this review is from a few months ago, but I will never, ever be visiting this business again.
I usually pass by this store when I’m walking to the train. I decided to try them out today and I regret it. I was really hungry and ordered 2 pepperoni slices. That cost me $8, which is crazy! The slices were weirdly huge and not that great but since I was hungry, I ate it. I was polite when I ordered but the reception I got from the young man working the register was cold and the older man in the back seemed cold too. I guess it was because I was a new face but given the other experiences I’ve had in the heights, I immediately thought they were acting that way because I’m black. They were much nicer when other Hispanic people came in. When I got home after eating their pizza, I felt sick and had a headache so needless to say, I’ll never eat here again.
This place used to be good, but it's taken a sharp downturn in the last year or 2. From constantly forgetting toppings to actually keeping premade cheese pies a bases and using them for delivery orders (You know that chewy consistency of hours old pizza that's been reheated for 5 mins 🤮🤮🤮 and it arrives half raw, half burnt and super cold with warm pockets......🥲). I've seen just everything coming to my door from them. Do yourself a favor - order from the other places around which have better service and your pizza won't be old.
