Highly recommended for small groups of 2-4 looking for a tasty lunch. The food is tasty, and we enjoyed the bulgogi bibimbap and the spicy pork. For what it's worth, the pork tastes like the best Philippines barbecue pork skewer (a.k.a. inihaw). Very worth it at its price point for Korean cuisine. If no alcoholic beverages are ordered, then the cost per person for lunch is between 20 to 30 with tax and tip. Remember to make a reservation, because a queue forms shortly after opening time.
Visiting NYC for work and this place came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Definitely grab a reservation as this place was poppin on a Thursday. Service was great and super chill. Table went with the Korean Fried Chicken, Pork Belly and Fried fish. Definitely get the sesame ice cream, make room for it All dishes were excellent and will definitely come here again when I visit again for work.
VERY on time with reservations— we love that! As such, making a booking is highly recommended. It got quite crowded on a Monday night for dinner. Prices were fair, my friend and I just got a ridiculous amount of food to try a breadth of dishes (I paid $62 for two appetizers, a main, and a cocktail). Service was very friendly and quick. I tried the asparagus appetizer, rice cake appetizer, and garlic chicken main, along with the spring fling cocktail. I enjoyed all of them, except for some little differences in personal preference (ie, the extra garlic seasoning on top the chicken was surprisingly sweet, and I would have preferred the chicken be kept more savory since the side salad already had a sweet chili dressing), but these did not impact how much I enjoyed the meal overall. I definitely recommend the rice cake appetizer… it has a crispier outside than other tteok I’ve tried, giving it a unique and very addicting texture! Would recommend for sure, and plan to come back to try the mandoo and soups to share.
Her Name is Han is a beautiful restaurant with tasty food! With lots of options it was difficult to choose and so I can say that the pressure got to us… and so we ordered tteokbokki and KBBQ. While decent, we realized we missed the best part of Her Name is Han: the soup pot! Would want to come again based on the flavors and the friendly (albeit very busy) staff.
An absolute recommendation! Her name is Han is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in! Who likes Korean food, should definitely check out this spot! No matter if classic dishes or fancy creations, we really liked everything! As an appetizer everyone got a small mix plate, which was a perfect entry into this culinaty delight. Since everything sounded super tasty, we really ordered a lot, but my favorite dish was the rice cake! For dessert I recommend the tiramisu - so so so so good! It is a little bit more expensive than other restaurants, but the money is so worth it!! We have been in the restaurant 20 minutes after opening, without a reservation, and luckily we got a table. If you come here, I would recommend to do a reservation in advance or be there early enough, because 10 min later, the restaurant was completely full and they have to sent people away, who didn‘t had a reservation
I came by for a weekday lunch recently. I didn't have a reservation (I was dining by myself, so I figured the wait wouldn't be too long) and I was able to get seated in around 10 min. But, the place really was quite busy, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation beforehand. The lunch menu is somewhat extensive and has so many well-priced, delicious option, so it was a bit hard to pick, but I ultimately decided on the bulgogi hotpot. Other than the main broth dish, it also comes with some side dishes that change daily, a salad, kimchi, rice, black sesame tofu, and potato salad. I don't know where to start this description exactly because each of the dishes was so delicious. Some highlights are the black sesame tofu - the tofu was so soft and fluffy, and the richer sesame-based sauce on top was a perfect complement to the tofu. The salad was really fresh and came with a wonderfully light dressing, and the side dishes (esp the potato salad) were similarly delicious across the board. As for the main bulgogi pot, also fantastic. The beef was really tender and flavourful (as was the broth, of course), and it came with really generous portions of the meat itself and the glass noodles. The rest of the ingredients (onions, cabbage, courgette etc.) were all cooked really nicely. The broth was a bit too salty to drink by itself but tasted really good paired with some of the white rice. I really appreciated the variety of flavours between (and within!) each bite (honestly for the whole set overall, not just the hot pot specifically). Other than the visually-appealing harmony (the tray of food looks amazing), the flavour profile overall was just sooo delicious, with all the individually dishes complementing one another really well. Did I mention this was only $20 (plus tax/tip)? Honestly such a steal, and it's a shame I ordinarily don't have time to come by for weekday lunches !! I'd love to come again and try some of their other specials, but the regular/dinner menu looks fantastic, too - definitely will be back soon.
Amazing upscale Korean restaurant in NY. The pork belly and fried chicken were perfect to share. The kimchi was the best I’ve had in awhile! To finish the night the spring garden dessert with black sesame ice cream was perfect palette cleanser to end the meal. Service was amazing as well and the atmosphere is a perfect date night spot or gather with friends/family. Also my new last name is Hàn!
A wonderful dinner! I recommend placing reservations as the normal wait on a Sunday was ~ 45 minutes for a table of 3. The service was very quick as well, as we got our first appetizer in less than 10 minutes of sitting down, so expect the turnaround to be quick (we were there for an hour max). We loved the black sesame tofu - a creamy and light texture! We also had the normal-sized pork belly and the veggie bibimbap. Those three dishes were enough for 2 people to feel satisfied :) One of my favorite homey restaurants in NYC!
Booked as a last minute dinner before new years plans, this place was such a fantastic surprise. Service was prompt and courteous, the menu was equal parts familiar foods and fun twists. The garlic chicken and the black sesame tofu were so tasty. Can't recommend enough
I knew this place from running by from Instagram and it did really good. Amazing taste with a touch of sophisticated details that they put an effort on the dish. I haven’t ordered slow cook pork belly but I saw from others table and it look so yummy. Lunch set come with a proper portion for one person to get full. Staffs service is amazing. Highly recommended to make a reservation even me I came around 1pm, it is still crowded.
We came here at 5:30pm on a Thursday night and there was already a line out the door waiting for the restaurant to open! I'm glad we got a reservation and would recommend it. The servers were really kind. They gave us a table that accommodated a stroller. The restaurant had a classy but cool vibe. And even though the restaurant was packed the whole night, they never rushed us. I liked that the menu was different from many other Korean restaurants in the area. We ordered tofu with black sesame dressing (my personal favorite), pork belly, spicy kimchi pancake, and a seafood hotpot (which had a surprising sweet tomato soup base). The tastes of these dishes were subtle, but it was clear that the chefs paid attention to each detail and each dish was made with quality ingredients. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu ice cream and black sesame ice cream with matcha biscuits. I personally liked the tiramisu ice cream because it was a cool take on the dessert, but my friend liked the contrasted textures of the other one. Again, subtle flavors but all so good!
Visited for weekend brunch and thoroughly enjoyed the set menu - the Monkfish & Mussel Sujebi was comforting, creamy, and garlicky - perfect for a cold, rainy day, with just the right portion size. Another standout was the black sesame tofu, featuring soft tofu topped with a rich and refreshing black sesame sauce. The menu offers a modern take on Korean cuisine, and overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience with great flavors and friendly service.
This is my favorite Korean restaurant for both lunch and dinner. I recommend getting a reservation as it does get very busy and there is no space inside to wait. Food was phenomenal. My favorite was the raw marinated shrimp. So tasty and the texture really blew my mind. I enjoyed their spring garden dessert so much that I got it a second time. The black sesame icecream, matcha and the strawberry was a perfect combo. I don't think you can go wrong with anything in their menu! The service here is really great. The waiters are very attentive and the food comes out very quickly.
Great place to eat I really really enjoyed it. Keep in mind that there is usually a long way to get in and even though we got there before opening at 5 PM without a reservation we still had to wait for at least 15 minutes to get our table that being said, the service was very good. The banchan were unlimited and tasty, and I really liked the bossam or the pork belly. Would not get the raw crab again
Located 1 street south from the main 32nd St. K-town block, Her name is Han is now checked off my bucket list of Manhattan restaurants. From the interior to the food and even the service, this K-restaurant is NOT traditional, fusion nor gimmicky. The interior layout has two rectangular dining sections; the style is industrial with theatre spots lighting the tables and illuminating unique art pieces (OG kitchen oven!) & classic NYC exposed brick walls. The paper placemats have the eatery brand & date d'aujourd'hui stamped or maybe even typed. The scene is diverse, loud & bustling. The waitstaff is professional, cordial & attentive. They actually reassured me of my allergy concerns/requests. So how was the food? Exquisite & delicious! Fresh, thoughtful selection of quality ingredients to make chamber music like ensembles. Soup broth in the galbi hotpot was clean & savory. Garlic chicken bbq reminded me of a Seattle teriyaki joint (in a good way). Corn & cream croquettes were delicious & not greasy. Even in the heat of a Manhattan dinner rush, the food was prepared, presented & served in 5 star fashion without breaking the bank. Good luck with street parking though. Subways & Penn station are within walking distance. K-town neighborhood is relatively safe & live even after dark. Although I got lucky & was seated immediately without a reservation, reserve a table in advance to avoid a wait. I look forward to returning. Highly recommended. Support your local small businesses & restaurants 👍
I had been wanting to try Her Name is Han for so long and was excited to check out their brunch menu. I came here with a friend for the weekend brunch - make sure to make a reservation! We got there right on time for the reservation but still had to wait 10-15 minutes for our table. The restaurant is a decent size with tables that can seat anywhere from 2 to (what looked like) 8 people. It was a bit loud inside and (very minor inconvenience) my bench-type seating along the wall was a bit uncomfortable. The brunch menu consists of some appetizers and set menus. The set menus are honestly a great deal! You get an entree with several banchans. I got the kimchi shakshuka and my friend got the mini budae-jjigae. The kimchi shakshuka was such an interesting take on the classic kimchi jjigae. There were lots of chunks of pork and it was so delicious. The budae-jjigae was what you'd expect it to taste like. I also got the peach blossoms cocktail - it was very refreshing but had a slightly artificial peach flavor...? Wasn't in an off-putting way though. Definitely recommend this place for their brunch!
There was a 30 min wait on a Wed night. But it's totally worth it. Their food is outstanding. We had tofu as a starter and it was like a souffle in texture and with amazing sauce, which turned it in a total delicacy. We also chose pork belly which we couldn't stop eating. And the crispy shrimp pan cake was really good too. Small sides were delicious as well. Kimchi is unforgettable. And I had an old fashioned cocktail which had interesting tubes due to non-traditional soju as the base. Our server was very attentive and thoughtful
Came in for lunch. There was a line at the door before opening at 12. I was lucky enough to get a table. I enjoyed my meal and the atmosphere was amazing. The service was perfect, our servers made us feel cared for but also gave us the space to create our own experience. One day later and my tummy took every ingredient well! Will be back! Hopefully for dinner. Make sure you go to Her Name is Han!
Her Name Is Han never disappoints. The food feels like real Korean home cooking—comforting, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service is friendly even during busy hours, and the space has a cozy, warm vibe. Highly recommend the kimchi pancakes and army stew. One of my favorite spots in Manhattan.
Lots of great options here with a big focus on their stews. We had the army stew which was okay but I’d do one of the other stews next time to try something more interesting. Service is friendly and fast which is great. We walked in around 530 on a weekday and got a seat immediately.
Wonderful home-cooked style food to start your day! The dumplings are a must order. It's a classic, but they do it right. The dumpling wrappers themselves were fresh, chewy, and steamed softly to perfection. The fried cod was light and crisp served with a spiced flavor-bomb tartar sauce. We ended with the chicken noodle soup that tasted like a warm hug. Noodles were fresh. Broth was light and perfectly seasoned. Great experience overall.
Still not entirely sure what “Korean soul food” means, but you don’t have to understand it to enjoy it. I’m a bit of a purist when it comes to Korean food—however I’m open to trying new things, and I’m glad I finally tried this spot. The menu is experimental but with enough respect for the cuisine that it can still taste authentic. Every ingredient was done well, from 오댕 to 장아찌 and everything in between.
5/5!!!!! This was the most delicious thing I’ve ever had. I seriously cannot recommend Her Name is Han enough - incredible service, incredible food, incredible ambiance. We called at 7:30 pm and asked for a table for two, and they were able to accomodate us at 8 pm. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious, the scallion pancake and bulgogi were my personal favorites. The waiters were also so kind and attended to our table consistently. Very cozy vibe, great for a date night!!
Her Name is Han offers a cozy atmosphere with beautifully prepared dishes that feel both authentic and creative. The black sesame tofu appetizer was delicate and flavorful, and the injeolmi tiramisu dessert was the perfect sweet ending. Great place to enjoy a thoughtful Korean meal with good company.
I finally had the chance to dine at Her Name is Han, and it did not disappoint! The service was excellent, and the servers were incredibly nice and friendly. We shared a hot pot, which was delicious and perfectly sized for two people. As a side, we got the tofu with sesame sauce—it was absolutely to die for! The ambiance and food quality were both fantastic. Highly recommend!
We came for the brunch menu which had a delicious mussels dish. The soup was immense on a cold new York afternoon and I felt a sense of restoration after some pretty sleepy cold walks outside. The main star of the show for me however was the black sesame ice-cream with a great matcha crumble with enough subtlety and taste to cover the entire ice-cream with. Freeze dried raspberries round this off with a tart crisp touch that will have you licking your plate clean!
If you’ve ever been to Korea, this would be your typical Korean fare. It’s done really well and we enjoyed the unlimited banchan. The chicken was a bit lackluster though. The cocktail was really good (mint garden) and appreciated that it wasn’t too sweet. Service was very attentive in refilling water and banchan.
I went there twice with friends and my boyfriend. We very impressed on the marinated shrimp and every dishes that we ordered is so delicious. We would love to go back again and try other things. Highly recommended to check it out and make a reservation might be better so you don’t have to wait.
Memorable meal. The food was absolutely delicious and thoughtful. The service was efficient and had a great pace. It was one of the best pajeons I've ever had. Great banchan as well. Other notables - Tofu, Bo Ssam, & the spring fling was great as well 🇰🇷🍸 Finally went for lunch, was excellent. I really loved the chicken soup.
amazing food, we had the pork bbq and beef bulgogi stew for lunch special and i dont have enough good words to say!! I realized later on that they also serve multigrain rice so I'd definitely like to try that next! Overall, amazing service, great value for price and hearty filling meals!!🩷
it was good, but the flavors leaned more toward fusion rather than traditional Korean taste. The budae jjigae contained a lot of cheese. Cheese flavor was strong and the beef bulgogi had a sweet teriyaki flavor. 😄 The portions were larger than expected, so we left feeling full and satisfied. The black sesame ice cream with matcha crumble was crispy, well-balanced, and delicious! While it may not have the spicy Korean flavors, considering it's in New York, the food and service were both satisfying.
This place has been on my list to visit for so long because it’s so hard to get a table here and now that I’ve tried I, I can say worth the wait. The prices are actually very reasonable for the portion size; the lunch is at least. The grilled mackerel is pretty basic but it’s done well. The pork is so yummy it had a great charcoal flavor. One of the best I’ve had. The portion size for the pork was also so large. The sides change daily I believe but overall pretty yum banchan. The soup was a very flavorful and clean. The bossam was honestly top teir. The pork was perfectly juicy and had a good fatty ratio. Their kimchi is like a white sesame type kimchi soooo good I wanna buy a jar. It ended up being $34.50 per person which is not bad for the area.
I really enjoyed having brunch at this restaurant on Saturday morning ☺️ I had planed on ordering a bulgogi hot pot meal set or chicken ramen meal set before arriving, but unfortunately, those were not on the menu. I chose the bulgogi meal set and black sesame tofu instead. I’d say it was a balanced meal and I really liked the sides. The black sesame tofu was also good. Great ambiance too.
Oh my gosh what an incredible place to eat!! My mom and I were quite late to our reservation, but they were nice enough to keep our table for us when we got there and boy I’m glad they did. The corn croquettes and kfc chicken we both started with were fabulous, but the highlight of my lunch was their budae jjigae. It may be my new favorite food, and all of the side dishes were insanely good as well. My mom and I loved our food so much we ordered their black sesame ice cream as dessert even though we were beyond full, and that didn’t disappoint either as it was the perfect sweet treat to end the overall amazing experience. 10/10 no notes
Absolutely amazing Korean spot! The flavors were out of this world — every dish was packed with depth and spice, just like it should be. Hands down the BEST tofu I’ve ever had — perfectly cooked, flavorful, and addictive. The staff was super friendly and made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in. Everything we ordered was top-notch. If you love Korean food (or even if you’re new to it), this place is a must. 10/10!
The food was amazing!! Adding this place to my top 5 faves in Ktown! I definitely think you need to get out of the main 32nd St block and venture to 31st and 33rd-35th St because the food scene is so much better!! The restaurant does get packed so make sure you make a resy! You won’t regret trying this place out. We got spicy rice cakes which came with squash and peppers, slow cooked pork belly (so soft, not rubbery at all), and their sweet potato noodles with pork. You’ll know the exact names when you look at the menu, but all of these were fire 😍
This is the only Korean restaurant I took my mom to when she visited NYC from Korea because I knew it would deliver truly authentic Korean flavors with beautifully presented, modern dishes. I came back yesterday to celebrate my birthday and to try the new seasonal dessert menu. The food was outstanding as always. Highly recommended.
I came for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon at 12:30 and got seated right away with my friend. Service was great and fast, and staff were extremely attentive and welcoming. We both got the beef bulgogi bibibamp with peach matcha, it was so good!! Also tried the spring garden dessert and it was delicious (highly recommend). All in all great experience and would 100% return!
Had a great meal at Her Name Is Han. The food was tasty and very comforting, and everything we ordered was thoughtfully done. We started with drinks the Jeju Hallabong was light and refreshing with a nice citrus kick, and the Mint Garden soju cocktail was clean and easy to drink, with subtle mint and green tea notes. For food, the Black Sesame Tofu was simple but really well balanced, with a nutty dressing and crunchy fried onion on top. The Crispy Kimchi Pancake was a standout crispy on the outside, savory from the cheese, and the poached egg tied everything together nicely. The mains were solid across the board. The Slow Cooked Pork Belly was tender and flavorful, paired with kimchi, radish pickles, and jalapeño soybean paste for contrast. The Garlic Grilled Chicken was juicy and nicely charred, with a strong garlic flavor and a crunchy peanut crumb. The Galbi was also excellent, well marinated, nicely grilled, and not overly sweet. Dessert was a nice surprise: Sool Sool, the Korean spirit ice cream with jocheong-glazed brown rice crunch and Korean pear was light and not too sweet, and the coconut foam with mugwort gave it a clean, herbal finish. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and pacing made for a really enjoyable meal. Definitely a spot I’d come back to.
Came here for lunch and really enjoyed it! The atmosphere is cozy with a modern touch, perfect for a casual meal with friends. I didn’t order any drinks, just focused on the food — the stew and BBQ were flavorful, hearty, and felt like real home-style cooking. Service was friendly and the food came out quickly. Prices are reasonable for New York, and the lunch portions were very satisfying. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic Korean comfort food in the city!
I have eaten here several times for both lunch and brunch. They offer a wonderful set lunch menu during the week and a great brunch menu on the weekends. The set comes with a variety of small dishes, all of which are always fresh and delicious. The price is very reasonable considering the high-quality ingredients they use. The service is consistently excellent, and the food usually arrives quite quickly after ordering. The staff are always kind and accommodating. I would strongly recommend Her Name Is Han if you’re looking for a Korean meal. It’s a great spot for a business lunch or for a casual outing with friends.
This K-town classic for Korean food is a super popular spot for both their brunch and dinner. The inside is cozy and I highly recommend a reservation as it gets super busy. Service is quick and very polite. I came for their dinner service and tried their kimchi pancake with a poached egg, fried cod, and bibimbap. Everything was delicious, including their banchan. The favorite of the night was their fried cod as the fish was fried so delicately and didn't feel oily at all. And, their maesaengi sauce for the fish paired so well and was like nothing I've had before. I wish I was hungrier when I went to be able to try more of their dishes. Will definitely have to come back to try their brunch sets!
I’ve wanted to try this restaurant for a while! It was perfectly cozy for a freezing night in January. I appreciate the clear intent to create a safe space for authentic and homey Korean food. I’m not the biggest fan of cod but it was still juicy and flakey. My friend who actually likes fish enjoyed it a lot. The Jeju mocktail was sweet, just a little bitter - like how real alcohol tastes. Their winter special galbi jjim was tender and flavorful. I was straight up drinking the broth. I would’ve liked more tteok since this dish was like $40, but it was worth it. The carrots and lotus were tender as well. The dish was so rich and savory that it ended up being plenty for 2 people to share.

Overall, I’m glad that I could give this restaurant a try during my time in NY 😊 𝑭𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒅: 🍳 𝐊𝐢𝐦𝐜𝐡𝐢 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐚𝐤𝐞 ($𝟏𝟔) 🌟 — 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘴𝘰𝘧𝘵-𝘱𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘥 𝘦𝘨𝘨 🌽 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐧 & 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐬 ($𝟏𝟓/𝟑𝐩𝐜) 🌟 🐷 𝐒𝐥𝐨𝐰-𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐲 ($𝟏𝟖) 🐮 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐮𝐥𝐠𝐨𝐠𝐢 ($𝟐𝟗) 🌟 🐔 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐊𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 ($𝟏𝟔) 🌱 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧 ($𝟏𝟑) 🌟 — 𝘣𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘦𝘢 𝘣𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘶𝘪𝘵 𝘤𝘳𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘴 & 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘸𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘺 🍷 𝐇𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐮 ($𝟗) — 𝘣𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘱𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘶 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘴𝘰𝘺 𝘧𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘳
Solid korean food with all your classics. They have soup, grilled meat, noodles, and rice dishes. Personally really liked their chicken kalgoosku/hand cut noodles; broth was very light and creamy with a nice hint of yuzu that makes it fresh. Their banchan/small plates that they give for free was also delicious - it's a good sign when their banchan is yummy!
What a popular restaurant for Sunday brunch! Without reservation we had to wait 40 minutes. The menu is rather simple, yet food is absolutely delicious. We love everything here, especially their side dishes. Compared to traditional Korean food, the food here is way lighter, which is right to our tastes. The servers were all very attentive and friendly, we didn’t need to wait too long for our food. Only wish the portion could be a little bigger.
I recommend making a reservation here, since it gets quite busy right at opening. I tried the lychee cocktail (the pink one), and it was absolutely delicious--perfect if you enjoy sweeter drinks. We ordered the bossam and the beef bulgogi hotpot, both of which were very yummy. The bossam was tender & not overly fatty in my opinion. The beef bulgogi hotpot was a tad bit on the greasier side, but still flavorful, especially with the side dishes. Prices are on the higher end, but pretty standard for New York.
Bustling restaurant for a weekday lunch. Prices are okay (inclining towards the pricier side) and lunch set portions are huge. LA Galbi set - meat was a bit too tough and thick. Sauce flavor is not quite there yet. Banchan comprising lotus root, broccoli and boiled cucumber were delicious. The set also came with a small tofu appetizer, clear soup and salad. Service was okay. Ambience was lively.
The service is kinda like all other non-bbq Korean restaurants. They provide you enough service so that you get served, but they are not super nice. The seating is nice in which you are not crowded on top of other people. It is spaced out relatively nicely. I like the variety of dishes you can choose from, I chose the salmon bibimbap which was fairly good. However, the Banchan was kind of boring compared to Kisa. The only banchan that I liked from the platter was the mashed potatoes. Other ones were not that interesting.
Her Name is Han is a great fusion Korean spot if you want to try Korean food with a twist! They had traditional plates like bibimbap and bossam that were alright. Bossam was a bit dry and there was no lettuce wraps. I was surprised by their crispy tofu dish. It was a unique plate but one that is good to try if you want to explore a fusion dish.
Simple food are the best!! If you want simple but delicious food this is the spot to go! Location: It is located around Koreatown. You will see the restaurant because of it’s sign outside. The indoor is huge, sign in and you will be seated. Reservation is required but I walk in by myself. Service: I felt like I was rushed when I was eating. He asked me 3 times if I’m done. I’m not really sure if they needed my seat because I was by myself. But I finished my food in 15 mins because I felt rushed. Food: During lunch break they have Bapsang which is like a combo meal. You can also order appetizers, drinks and desserts. GRILLED ATKA MACKEREL: so it was very simple dish. I felt like they fried the mackerel and not grilled because it is crispy as if it was fried. I love it with the squeeze of lemon. The side dishes were amazing. The tofu with black sesame sauce was good. Kimchi was good too. Price rating: 7/10 price range. I paid $24 plus tip for the whole meal. I will definitely come back here to try the other dishes. Could have been 5 stars but I felt rushed.
We had lychee cocktail, spicy pork bbq, and vegi bibimbap. The dishes are really impressive enough that I almost felt I’m in Korea. If you like sweet cocktail, lychee cocktail is a must. However, the service was somewhat mediocre. I found a small fly in the side dish digging around the food, which ruined the experience even before we start our meal. I asked the waiter to replace it. They gave me a new one but there was no apology. It’s been nicer if they took it as a bit more seriously.
The food here was good. The price of each dish was according to quality, so that was nice. The pork belly was super dry, and the fried chicken was just ok. We really liked the bibimbap and the rice cakes. For dessert skip the tiramisu and just get the sesame ice cream which was better. Overall a bit underwhelmed by the flavours but the service was fast and we had a great time.
The food is good and nicely presented. I tasted the cod fritters, the bi bim bap, the farro risotto, and the beef bulgogi. The waiters were attentive, and they often refilled our tea cups. As a tall man, the only thing I did not like is that the seating is a bit cramped, like many NYC restaurants.
Came here with a couple of friends on a Saturday night. This place was very busy. Every table was full and we miraculously was able to get a table for 3. Very simplistic menus and you have a choice between non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. They serve cocktails, beer and wine. We ordered the seafood hotpot which came with clams, tofu, and crab. It was somewhat spicy but still enjoyable. Our second entree was the garlic chicken which was tasted great, but a little sweet for me personally. I very much enjoyed the food for my first time eating Korean cuisine. This place is a solid date spot, and also good for small groups 2-4 people. Dumplings, Korean Fried Chicken, Kimchi were also good.
We had a great lunch here on a Wednesday afternoon. We didn't have a reservation, so we had to wait about 25-30 mins before getting our table. Service was okay, a little slow but the place was packed so we understood. It seemed to affect multiple tables, as we noticed frequently that tables were getting part of their food with the remaining items taking a while to arrive. We ordered the fried mushrooms, bibimpap and a spicy pork lunch special. Both came with tons of tasty sides so we probably could have done without the appetizer. Our favorite was the spicy pork and would definitely order it again if we came back. We'd recommend it if you're in the area.
Her Name is Han offers a small lunch menu of classic Korean meals, but what they do, they do very well. The flavors are well-balanced, and the quality of the ingredients are solid. I loved the cream croquettes—they were a highlight of the meal. However, the fried chicken was average and not something I’d recommend. The bulgogi hot pot was also a bit too sweet. The set lunches are generous in portion size and can easily be shared, making the prices fair. The service was also excellent, adding to the overall great experience.
We visited this restaurant around 1 p.m. on a Sunday. The waitline was approximately 20 minutes long. The service was very attentive, but the food was too Americanized. If you’re looking for authentic Korean cuisine, this is not the place to go. I was also disappointed because the menu listed on Google Maps was no longer available on the menu at the restaurant.
The food was typical Korean food, but it was extremely good. A few of the dishes we had were Bossam, seafood pancake, spicy seafood tofu stew. They all had a slightly elevated taste which I enjoyed. I especially enjoyed the seafood pancake and the seafood spicy tofu stew. The stew had a generous amount seafood, while the pancake was not too oily. The environment inside is excellent along with the interior vibes. When going to eat at Her Name is Han, I recommend trying to call at least a week ahead. I tried calling multiple times during off morning hours when they were open to no one picking up.
This was a very nice dining experience. I was here with a large group and because of that I recommend coming with no more than four people. They simply do not have the space and without a reservation even if we were simply a table of four, we would have definitely had to wait. This place is clear popular! The drink options all looked delicious but I got a lychee cocktail because duh lol. Out of the main or bigger options, the beef and chicken did not have mushrooms (allergic) so I ordered the chicken entree to make sure I was able to eat and it was my favorite thing. The beef was delicious as well but I think the garlic toppings on the chicken dish was what made it. Wished that the dessert menu wasn’t so limiting. Out of the two desserts (matcha and tiramisu) the tiramisu was better, in my opinion.
Her Name is Han Lunch set here is such a good deal—perfect for a hearty and comforting meal. We tried the slow-cooked pork belly, Han bibimbap rice set, and beef bulgogi hotpot, and everything was flavorful and satisfying. It’s a busy spot, so I definitely recommend making a reservation, otherwise you might wait. One of those places that really hits the spot for authentic Korean comfort food!
Nice place with a calm ambiance. The staff are considerate and the food is great. Got the KFC (can't go wrong with Korean fried chicken) also got the spicy pork BBQ, not to spicy and has a sweet aftertaste. All the side dishes that accompanied the dish balanced each other perfectly. Would definitely come again.
had a reservation on sunday and got the salmon bibimbap lunch set, dumplings, and their famous black sesame tofu appetizer! the lunch set was filled with all these small yummy side dishes! i love the variety in meals like these :) the dumplings were also really good! the wrapper was so smooth and thin~ a memorable texture! as for the black sesame tofu, i was a little wary of savory black sesame, bc i usually have it sweet, but it surprised me! it reminded me of japanese sesame dressing on salads but covered over soft tofu instead! the fried onions and shallots were a nice textural touch and a favorite flavor of ours!
One of my favorite spots for Korean in New York — innovative but still comforting dishes, a smart staff despite the rush hour chaos. I always order the black sesame tofu, the crispy kimchi pancake, and the veggie tofu hotpot. All so tasty and warm, but don’t leave you feeling too heavy! I will say the dessert — I ordered the black sesame ice cream — was a bit lacking in flavor but otherwise, I highly recommend this spot.
Welcoming & attentive service but be ready to be inched out as they are very busy from early on and dishes come out fast. Kimchi cheese pancake was ok. Crispy but didnt taste any cheese, just something mushy inside. Bulgogi grill was very tasty and kepted warm on the skillet. Fried chicken was fine. Next time, will try the crab and the hot pots recommended by server. Cocktail was nice but too weak in any hint of liquor but, still a good compliment to the savory food.
The restaurant’s decor is modern and warm with banker’s lamps vibe. The service is attentive and nice but could be slower during its peak lunch hour. The food is authentic including bulgogi, army stew, bibimbap, grilled mackerel and yuzu chicken noodle soup with pretty presentation. Their lunch set menu is a great deal. They also have a good selection of delicious cocktails and desserts.

Overall, a mid experience. The vibes were immaculate, service was solid, and the food was okay. Modest sizes but the flavor was not quite there for me. Maybe it was an off day but there felt like there was not enough seasoning for many dishes (salt) with others being good for one or two bites then being middling. I'll say this, we finished all the food so it wasn't bad but truthfully it misses the soul of Korean food as others have touted. It lacks the punch and mixture of flavors that good, home Korean cooking delivers with simplicity; Han is trying to elevate and sophisticate plain dishes without the solid delivery. Starting with the side dishes. The potato salad is standard, I enjoyed the chunks of Korean pear. The green beans were interesting, not super flavorful but fresh and I enjoyed munching. The mushroom-y one was good. I enjoyed the flavor and the texture. The kimchi was meh. Good crunch and a hint of flavor but not enough fermentation or spice for me. Then the dumplings. Juicy with decent flavor but $10 for 4 is kind of a lot. Definitely a good item though. I thought the skin was very good. The soy sauce it was given with was pretty standard. Nothing crazy but a good pairing. It was delivered in a nice little basket. I enjoyed the tteoboki with its crunch paired with the pumpkin and peppers. While the sauce was kind of light and not super flavorful you have to give credit for a good cook. I enjoyed the dish overall. The croquettes were fried well. I was surprised by how sweet and cheesy they were but honestly that was good. I liked this dish probably the most out of all the small appetizers. I think it came with some ketchup that was a good pairing. I was expecting it to have some potato but I think that's on me for not reading the description properly. The kimchi pancakes were forgetful. I honestly forgot we had it until I went back to the photos. No kimchi flavor, kind of floppy, and just not that great. The bulgogi ground beef patty was nice. It was really flavorful and went with the rice really well. I think that was probably the best "main" dish. Very soft and tender which made it easy to eat. I liked this dish a solid amount. The chicken with crushed garlic was okay. I thought the garlic almost had a cheesy flavor to it? Honestly the best part of this dish was that oyster mushrooms. I think the chicken was tender but almost undercooked. Not a whole lot of the promised gochujang flavor. Again, overall the food was cooked well but under delivered on flavor. I would like more spice, more tang, more depth. It felt a little washed out and plain. Give me the weight of the Korean soul in the food. I wish the story provided was delivered. Good vibes though.
Reservation at 5:30pm on a Saturday with 4 people. Heard great things about this place but unfortunately social media hype does not equal reality- I thought the food was just okay. Ordered the cream croquette, rice cakes, shrimp/pepper jeon for appetizers. Appetizers were much better than the entrees. The LA galbi was fine but nothing better than I make at home. The Korean Fried Chicken was pretty disappointing. It was a bit stringy and under seasoned. The sauce was better than the dish itself. The slow cooked pork belly was pretty tender but also was just okay. Service was good but they didn't realize our pork belly was late. Overall, extremely whelmed. 6-7 out of 10. Probably won't go back.

I had high expectations for this restaurant, given all the buzz and glowing recommendations. - The raw marinated crab was a solid choice--well-marinated and flavorful. - The crispy kimchi pancake with a poached egg was enjoyable, though I was expecting more mozzarella and a satisfying cheese pull, which was missing. - The slow-cooked pork belly (bossam) was just average, something I could have easily skipped. - The Korean fried chicken lacked flavor and was somewhat bland. - The galbi, while good, was slightly overcooked and a bit dry. - The rice cake hotpot was comforting, with a nice balance of spice. For dessert, the Spring Garden black sesame ice cream was decent, though the dried strawberry felt unnecessary. The Han tiramisu was also underwhelming and could have been skipped. Overall, the meal was just okay--nothing memorable, and the restaurant felt overrated."
Had to send back the Bulgogi set, the patty was cold in the center. Asked one of the staff if the patty was meant to be cold and they said no. Sent it back to the kitchen to be replaced. The replacement patty was warmer but had a whole gradient of temperatures from warm on the edge to Luke warm in the center. Appears the patty is pre par cooked, chilled, then warmed for service. This is not the standard I would expect at any Korean or Korean fusion place. Definitely does not match the description of fire grilled. The wait staff did not ask the first time how was the food, which is not uncommon. However, to not ask about how is the replacement dish is arrogance. Ate the whole set in the end as it would be a waste of my time leaving and finding lunch elsewhere. The banchan / side dishes were good.
I had a reservation at 12 PM, but my building’s elevator broke, so I knew I might be a few minutes late. I tried calling more than 30 times to let them know, but no one picked up the phone. When I finally got through, they simply told me that all tables for 12 PM were taken and I would have to wait until 1 PM. There was absolutely no consideration or service provided even though they were the ones who didn’t answer the phone. I ended up standing and waiting outside with no explanation or apology. They just told me to wait, which was extremely unprofessional and disappointing. Overall, very poor service and lack of customer care. I do not recommend this place.
