Opinions de L&W Oyster Co New York
I went for happy hour. $1 oysters were actually very good. I got the $7 house red wine and liked it as well. Dinner was a good portion size and although it was a bit pricey for my liking, I think the prices were reasonable for the location. Atmosphere was cozy and clean and the staff were all friendly and knowledgable. Looking gorwardto coming back for brunch
Popped in for oyster happy hour, was very impressed! Very quick and fresh, with good priced beers and wine too! Whole atmosphere and decor is fantastic and I am definitely going to come back and try the dinner menu too as it looked very good.
I would said this can be a romantic place for a date. The food are amazing and the servers are very friendly too. There's also some games you can get at the front to play till the food comes or if you want to come here for a drink.
Food is well made comfort food. Reserve a table for lunch or dinner with friends ... Or sit a the bar on your own.
Great happy hour including wine, oysters and draft beers.
Their Kobe Burger is one of the best I have eaten up to date. Great service, great food and great beer. Really worth stopping here for a bite to eat.
Dropped in during happy hour $1 oysters! :). Be is good, wait staff is friendly. Soft shells we great awesome!
L&W Oyster Co. is a gem! The food is amazing, the drinks were amazing, service was wonderful and the music was excellent. Overall one of the best restaurant experiences.
A casual but yummy place for seafood! Loved the happy hour $1 oyster and wine special and my sloppy tacos were delicious!
Oyster happy hour, great drinks, and attentive service means a great place to meet up with friends for any occasion!
I had almost lost faith in Oyster happy hours until I ate here. The $1 oysters are actually prepared well!
Great food, drink and staff. No complaints! However, get there early otherwise you'll never get in
Wait Staff was amazing. Service was quick and food was delicious. Interestingly enough, the coolest part of the restaurant was the stairwell leading to the bathroom! The walls were covered in pages from Dr. Seuss books!
A hidden gem for bottomless brunch in the city. The service was great and so was the food. We stuck around and caught the beginning of happy hour, can't go wrong with $1 oysters
Wandered in for the bottomless brunch on Saturday; I was surprised and delighted! For $25 all inclusive we had delicious cornbread and a house honey butter then there were a great range of tasty, filling brunch items all accompanied by spicy patatas bravas and a garlicky rocket salad, the bottomless aspect referred to the amply refilled mimosas and bloody Mary's (these were exemplary, I had mine Virgin which was no problem either) and also to the filter coffee to finish. Wait staff were on point, atmosphere was great. If we lived in NYC this would be one of our regular brunch haunts for sure.
Great food. We enjoyed it so much we came back the next night during our stay in NYC. The brussel sprouts two ways was killer. I also also recommend the sampler. The varietal oysters, ceviche, and poke were delicious.
Best seafood in New York. A good and always changing selection of oysters. Tasty and creative tacos. Great cocktails. But the best part is the friendly and knowledgeable staff.
I went here for lunch with my girlfriend and it was delicious. A Prix-Fixe lunch including wine and added oysters it was delish and the the service was excellent as well. Good times Good times. My first review for a restaurant.
Great spot for brunch! Service was outstanding, really went above and beyond, made for a super fun morning. Food was interesting and delicious - shrimp and grits, fish tacos, avocado toast were all great, and the french toast bites are completely addicting. Mimosas and Bloody Mary's were yummy and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend.
Good food and service consistently in the dozen of so times I've dined here. I love the Angry Crab Cakes which come with a nice salad. Menu in general is filled with tasty sea food, often with a southern flair. Great spot for a date.
Great happy hour oysters and rose! Catfish is spectacular served on a bed of spicy greens that went together very well. Shelter island clam chowder was ok. Lobster deviled eggs were amazing also. Well done.
I really love their happy hour deals. $1 daily oysters and decently priced beers. I highly recommend the clamrake beer special. Happy hour runs until 7PM.
Good atmosphere and service. Tried the artichoke and bacon dip which is a little bit too salty and I didn't taste the artichoke flavour. The lobster roll is a bit small but delicious.
Good happy hour, starts at 4pm unlike a lot of places closeby. Oysters were great, ceviche was a little weird but still good. Service was great.
Friendly enough spot and the beer was ok. The zucchini chips were definitely worth trying.
The food is great. Love the lobster roll. Size of seafood is a bit small thou. The environment is good.
A bit pricey, but good beer and very tasty oysters.
Great service and attitude. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Great for groups.
The oyster crackers taste suspiciously like bread from a bread basket. The fish tacos really were terrific, as were the oysters. My only complaint is that for the prices, the portions are a bit small.
Small portions. ~40-50 pp easy. Everything was unusual and interesting combos. Some home runs. A few strikes. Home runs: oysters, large plates - fish prawns, margarita panna cotta, rocky road ice cream. Misses: toffee pudding(dry) brownie(dry) wait staff...give u space but nice..if u like that
The best food we've got in N.Y. Very VERY delicious and interesting food. Service was in top as well. We were there for lunch with our kids and we all enjoyed it.
loved the oysters. went out with a friend from south florida hen said the snapper was fresh and seasoned well just like back home. will go back again.
We had a lovely brunch here. Great vibe. Loved the mules made with ginger infused bourbon.
Enjoyed a nice lunch there. The food was very fresh, but not that innovative. Still, a very decent option in this part of town
Great happy hour with dollar oysters and $6 beers. The doctor Seuss wallpaper is also pretty great.
Great oysters. The clam chowder wasn't my favorite. But good vibes and decent prices.
Had the paella and BLT. The foods are really delicious and the board next to the table brought great entertainment.
Super fun little bar with a great happy hour and oysters. Don't miss the house made "goldfish" crackers.
Tiny place with great service and $1 blue point oysters for happy hour. I'm a happy boy.
sat at the bar for happy hour. had oysters and clams.. great happy hour. cute bartender
Great oyster (and wine) happy hour special. Charred beet and brussels sprouts 2 ways salads are delicious. Fish tacos were great as well (in crispy corn tortilla). Put Old Bay on everything!
Solid restaurant especially if you like oysters. The seafood is generally pretty tasty, but a few dishes can be a little salty. Service has always been good.
Nice space. Good bar, friendly staff. Cocktails were great, Adios Solbeso (excellent). Raw oysters (very good), lamb bacon Brussels sprouts (very good), Frito Misto (good) crab cake bites (good) lobster BLT (good, good value).
Nice little place with fantastic $1 oyster special. Service was good. Two of us had 4 dozen! Wine is $14/glass.
Only about six months old, L&W Oyster Co. is one of the newest additions to Manhattan’s seafood (more specifically, oyster) scene. The folks behind Almond are behind this oyster house. Atmosphere The restaurant can best be described as black and white. It gives off both a casual and upscale vibe at the same time that portrays casual elegance. Don’t get the impression that the folks at L&W are suffering from an identity crisis. Quite the opposite. They’ve captured your typical “by the beach” seafood house and brought it to Manhattan – casual during the day but classy at night. The interior features whitewashed booths, industrial copper lighting fixtures providing light to a row of booths, black wood floors and your typical beach-themed artifacts. Food The menu at L&W (note that this is slightly outdated as the menu is evolving) immediately threw me off. It’s organized in a very creative way. There isn’t a dedicated section for appetizers, entrees, sides, etc. Instead, L&W categorizes its food by ‘small things,’ ‘medium things,’ ‘bigger things,’ ‘booze stuff,’ ‘sparkly stuff,’ etc. I felt like this was almost liberating and allowed me to peruse the entire menu without being confined to ordering one thing from each category. I’m a sucker for clam chowder so I of course had to give the Brooklyn Clam Chowder a try. This cream-based chowder wasn’t your typical New England clam chowder or your Manhattan clam chowder. It’s a hybrid made with beer from the Brooklyn brewery. The color may have been slightly off-putting – tan, off-whiteish – but the chowder itself was delicious. It had enough small bits of mussels in it and was a nice consistency (not too liquidy and not too thick) to keep me happy. There were also small crunchy nuggets in it as well which I believe were taking the place of your usual oyster crackers. This was a nice way to differentiate this chowder from others. Next up was a Cioppino (fish stew) complete with mussels, chorizo, other seafood goodness I can’t remember, all topped with a small pile of yellow rice. There were lots of mussels in this dish and I loved the combination with the seafood combination with the chorizo. I was stuffed afterward and didn’t have any bread to mop up the stew but am sure it would have been just as delicious as everything else was. Service Our waiter was very enthusiastic and on top of everything from the start. The food came out at a steady pace and our wine and water glasses were consistently refilled. What more can you ask for? Unfortunately, the service did slightly deteriorate toward the end of the meal and we were left waiting to order dessert for quite some time. Value L&W is on the pricier side, with oysters around $3 each, ‘small things’ and ‘medium things’ around $13-$16 and ‘big things’ in the upper $20 range. That being said, if you’re willing to spend some money, L&W has a menu set up for exploration. The Verdict L&W Oyster Co. does the perfect job of combining casual and elegant along with delicious food. The relaxed atmosphere puts you at ease as you look through a menu that disrupts the traditional way food is supposed to be ordered. I loved the Brooklyn Clam Chowder and the Cioppino and would gladly visit L&W again to try some of the other items on the menu. If you’re in the Flatiron District and looking for some seafood, you won’t be disappointed with L&W Oyster Co.
would go there again for $1 oysters during happy hour - otherwise maybe not
The brussel sprouts were great and very well seasoned. The shrimp taco on the other hand was a bit bland in my opinion and the shrimp were not deveined.
Went here with a couple of friends for Oysters and ended up ordering the Lobster Sliders on top. Portions were very small for the price. Seems like the price was more related to the location and trendiness of the restaurant rather than the chefs creations. Lobster sliders were on point but I felt like I could have easily ordered these off a food truck in midtown for lunch. Oysters were fresh as were the clams. Overall a good meal but would not make the trip back. Edit: Went back and gave it a second try. Not impressed again and overpriced. Now I know for sure.
not a good experience. Oysters were bad, any appetizer overpriced and poor quality. Pretencious spot. horrible service. very expensive. Food ...what food?
Charged $60 for a $10 bottle of wine, oysters were ok but very overpriced, other food was a stutter-step above T.G.I.Fridays, I could have taken my date to the Ben & Jacks across the street for the same price. Will not be going back.
