I visited The Smith NoMad on a rainy Sunday evening during a long weekend, and it turned out to be a great choice. We had a 9 PM reservation and were seated promptly. The restaurant had a lively yet relaxed vibe, not too crowded, not too quiet, which made for a cozy and welcoming atmosphere despite the weather. We ordered the Mediterranean salad with salmon and a shrimp cocktail. The salmon was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with the fresh, flavorful salad. The shrimp cocktail looked small at first, but it was surprisingly satisfying, ideal if you're looking for a light starter. For drinks, we tried the New York Sour and the Spiced Pear Margarita. Both were excellent: the New York Sour was well-balanced and not overly sweet, while the margarita had a soft, fruity twist that was refreshing and smooth. Service was attentive and friendly throughout. Our server made sure we were well taken care of without being intrusive. The space was clean and well-maintained, including the restrooms, which is always a good sign of overall care and quality. Overall, The Smith delivered a lovely dining experience with great food, delicious cocktails, and warm service. Whether you're out for a casual dinner or celebrating something special, it’s a solid spot in NoMad worth checking out.

Came here for a Saturday late summer brunch and was pleased as punch on all fronts. Just as you walk in, you're greeted with an almost speakeasy style type of decor with tiled floor and a grand looking bar, but they don't keep quite so serious. We did have a reservation, but I don't think we necessarily would have needed one for the three of us, the place is quite spacious and accommodating, even with some outdoor options. Starting with cocktails, as it was a boozy brunch, I had to try their signature and mysterious bloody Mary, which was quite tasty and certainly not like any other bloody Mary I've had before. This one was actually more refreshing! I'm usually a one and done when it comes to a BM, but I could have had a few of these, but I had a long day ahead of me. We followed that up with splitting an order of Mac and cheese, which was just as cheesy and delicious as I would have hoped. For the main course, I went with their eggs Ala vodka, a tasty twist on shakshuka that I will happily be adding into my own recipe arsenal. All of it paired with some delicious bread that made mopping up all the sauce and cheese all the better! Wait staff was also very friendly and quick to get to us and entertain all of our questions that we had about the menu. Price is a little on the higher side, especially with smaller portions than some places, but midtown Manhattan is rarely kind to a person's wallet, especially when it comes to a good meal. Brunch may have just been the beginning, but I certainly would love to come back here for more and certainly try more of their cocktails too.

My family and I had dinner here and it was great. We were seated quickly even though it was a busy time on a Friday, and the food came out in good time. Our waiter was friendly and gave perfect recommendations when we needed them. Everything tasted amazing and we’d come back. The menu was varied and so there’s definitely always more to try.

Came here for dinner with 7 people, it's great to find a restaurant that can easily seat this many without having to pre-plan too much! Sometimes travelling in a group can be difficult, but this place was a life-saver. Without much expectation, I was really surprised at how good the service and food was. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. I got a chicken milanese and it was perfectly prepared.

Earlier in March of this year, one of my close friends wanted to meet up to catch up on Life, so we ended up going to The Smith in Nomad since we've always wanted to eat there. We had an 8pm rsvp and made it on time despite train traffic. It wasn't as crowded as it usually is and the waiter was able to take our orders right away. We started with drinks. I ordered a bourbon neat, my friend ordered a Negroni. We already took a look at the menu a few times over so we decided to order right away. We did a shared order so we started with the Spicy Salmon Tartare. We also ordered the ever so classic French Dip Sandwich, the Chicken Milanese, some Green Roasted Peppers, and I had an extra glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. We switched from bite to bite with each plate and couldn't enjoy what we had more. Everything was cooked excellent from the flavor of each dish, to the portion and size of the food we ate. This Smith is a new favorite place of mine and I can't wait to circle back for round 2.

A1 service! I was so surprised at how good everything was, definitely can never judge a book by it's cover but the flavors were amazing. Had a wonderful experience at The Smith on Broadway! We tried the burger, shrimp, and salmon all were fantastic. The burger was juicy and perfectly cooked, the shrimp dish was fresh and flavorful, and the salmon was delicious with a perfectly crisp finish. We finished our meal with their excellent coffee, which was strong and smooth just what we needed. The terrace seating made our visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for great food and a lively atmosphere!

Fantastic spot for brunch with a standout atmosphere and top-tier service. While the corn bread in Johnny’s Eggs Benedict didn’t quite hit the mark for me, the overall experience was great. It’s also a solid choice for lunch and cocktails.

Had a bit of a mixed experience here. Despite having a reservation, our table wasn't ready and they had to scramble to add chairs for us. The bigger issue was the cleanliness—one of our appetizer plates still had leftovers on it from a previous guest. The waiter swapped it out, but it’s hard to shake that 'sour taste' once it happens. We also found a cocktail fork buried at the bottom of our mussel dish, which was strange. The food was actually great and the timing was good, but between the seating and the dirty plate, I don't think I'll be returning. I really appreciated they gave crayons and a coloring for page for my kids.

Only reason for the 3 stars was service was lacking a little. We had reservations and still had to wait a little while for our table. But I would definitely recommend this place for the food!

The food was great. The service not too great. It took at least 30 mins to get our drinks only including water. Everything took way too long to get. The Resturant was very busy but thankfully after 1 hour we finally got our entree dishes.

The atmosphere entering is like a speakeasy from back in the day and that adds to the ambiance of the restaurant. As you can wash your hands old school style when you enter, the simplicity enhances the charm and the menu is more Americana with certain twists as we tried a variety of appetizers before the main courses! The food was good and I would go back if I am in this section of Manhattan so with the street closed off to traffic, you can enjoy Broadway while eating your choices so give the Smith a look see!

I have mixed feelings about The Smith, but three stars feels fair — maybe even a touch generous. We booked a table for eight for a family brunch to celebrate my wife’s 40th, so expectations were (understandably) high. Let’s start with what they absolutely get right. The ambiance is fantastic — very 1920s, F. Scott Fitzgerald energy — and it works. The interior design team clearly put serious thought into creating something transportive and polished. It feels intentional, not accidental. The cocktails? Genuinely phenomenal. The Oaxacan Sunshine was a standout — bright, balanced, and memorable. My wife’s Frozen Pool Party tasted like something straight out of a Death & Co. mixology finals round. Creative, refined, and just plain fun. The food was also impressive. The menu strikes a nice balance between healthier options and indulgent brunch staples, and everything we ordered delivered both in flavor and presentation. Which is why it’s frustrating to say the service didn’t live up to the rest of the experience. We were seated at a table set with visibly dirty dishes — traces of butter still on the plates. I quietly mentioned it to the server. He inspected them, said nothing, removed them… and never brought replacements or acknowledged the miss. No quick apology, no “we’ll fix that right away,” nothing. It made me wonder how dishes leave the kitchen that way, washed by one person, set by another, without anyone noticing. It felt either like a simple mistake or a breakdown in attention to detail. And on a milestone birthday brunch, that lack of care stands out. The Smith has the atmosphere, the drinks, and the food to be exceptional. I just wish the service matched the level of everything else.

We visited The Smith’s NOMAD location on a Saturday for brunch: make sure to make reservations beforehand, as it’s a popular time! The staff was really attentive and observant, and took the time to make sure our orders came in correctly. While most were correct, one group member specifically mentioned “no bacon” on her sandwich, yet the sandwich arrived with bacon on it. Our server immediately offered to remake the sandwich, which was a plus! I got the grilled chicken sandwich with mixed greens, and the portions are 50-50 for each, on a big plate! The chicken was well-seasoned, but there was so much sauce, that when it arrived, the bottom of the bread was already soggy. It was hard to eat since the bread kept falling apart with the sauce, and wasn’t as sturdy as it could’ve been. I had a delicious drink (mocha with oat milk) and our group had a great time. One unique touch is the sink station at the entrance, where you can quickly wash your hands!
