Opinions de The Little Beet New York
My mom, sister, and I had such a wonderful time in this Ikebana class! It’s not only fun and meditative to make the arrangements, but you also get a chance to learn a bit of the history and philosophy behind the art form which is so intriguing and thought-provoking. I highly recommend it and would love to go back for another class!
While visiting New York, my fiancé and I decided to take Junko’s ikebana class to learn a new style for arranging flowers. Even though our class was only an hour long, the information and guidance we received from Junko will stay with us for a lifetime. The simplicity and intentional placement of each bloom is a technique that I seldomly apply when creating arrangements, so having her reassurance that sometimes less is more was just what I needed to see the beauty in ikebana flower arrangements. My fiancé was a trooper for attending the class with me, and I can only hope that he learned enough to make arrangements for special occasions instead of paying for them. All in all, the class was a great addition to our time spent in New York!
Had so much fun and learned a lot about the design philosophy and history of ikebana!! Definitely want to come back again :)
I treated myself to this Ikebana; Moribana style class as a little birthday gift to myself, and I honestly had the most magical time. Junko was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and full of warmth. Our time together was full of laughter, engaging conversation, and a sense of calm that made the experience even more special. I learned so much and left feeling both inspired and deeply grateful for this beautiful art form. I was truly in awe of the thoughtfulness behind each branch placement and the meaning woven into every shape. I can’t wait to return for another class and continue exploring this captivating practice.
From the moment we walked in and smelled the fresh greens and visually drank in the lovely flowers we’d be working with in the working ikebana studio, my shoulders went down and my friend and I started smiling. We had the best time with Junko! She gave us great basics and then let us all loose to feel our inner artists, with a little nudge here and encouragement there to help us along.
My girlfriend and I took the beginner friendly ikebana class without knowing anything about flower arrangements. We left with a love for the art and knowledge about its japanese history. Junko is such a great person and teacher which made us feel like family. Would definitely recommend!
I had the best experience at Ikebana Flower! Junko is a great teacher and the sweetest person. You learn the history of various styles of Ikebana, spend time learning how to make your own arrangement (with Junko’s guidance), and bring something beautiful back to your home! I took Intro to Japanese Floral Design and then came back for Comprehensive Floral Foundations: Eastern and Western Flower Arrangement too.
Took the beginner class as a gift from my bff and had a great time. Ikebana master Junko was lovely as an instructor and I learned some history about floral arranging. We were able to take pics of our creations in class and then take them home. Would recommend to anyone interested and she also teaches at NYBG!
I had such an amazing time. I love what I was able to create. Now I only want Ikebana style flowers in the house.
Our group had a fab time with junko sensei and I have to thank her for leading such a lovely and informative class. She really sparked joy and shared her love for ikebana and Japanese culture with us. Would recommend having a private class with just your own group
I took ikebana class with my partner for an anniversary event and it was very nice. Also professor was inspiring and she was knowledgeable, making the art form approachable and meaningful. Her clear guidance and thoughtful feedback fostered creativity while deepening my appreciation for ikebana’s beauty and philosophy. An unforgettable experience! In addition, the professor was very sweet kind and funny and easy to approach. 🥰
Took the 2.5hr intro course and it was great! Junko was very knowledgeable and so nice! She brought a great warmth to the class and was very helpful with hands-on instruction. Would definitely recommend!
My hubby and I have been taking Junko’s classes for over a year, and we have had a great experience. She always keeps her classroom clean, and charges a reasonable price despite the inflation. She personally designed the ikebana master class catering directly to my hubby and my interests. We started with the ikebana beginner classes, and moved to learn the Western styles, and then are now going back to the ikebana advance classes with fusion styles. Each class is about 2-hour long and she will give a general direction and demonstrate techniques and leave most of the time to let us run wild with our imaginations with our own arrangements and practice techniques. In the meanwhile, she will watch and give us feedbacks. What I love the most about her is that she really cares about her students and taking a class with her always feels like a rendezvous with a dear friend. Learning with lots of encouragement truly pushes us to our better potentials.
Had a great time here for the Ikebana course. Junko is so kind and gave us detailed introduction of the history of Ikebana and the techniques. Got the cherry blossom today perfect for spring!
Such a fun experience with two very nice ladies! :)
She was recommended to me by a friend. I ordered some arrangement flowers for a dinner event and she did great. She added her expertise and made my vision cooler!!
Had a great time here. We were all beginners but learned so much and had a blast trying out different flower arrangements.
Such beautiful flowers!
Fantastic class. Teacher was very knowledgeable about history if Ikebana and was able to provide us with the context necessary for us to start designing our own arrangement. Highly recommend.
Had an amazing time learning about the history of ikebana with Junko-san! Our moribana class was very relaxing and she gave insightful pointers on our arrangements. Definitely recommend giving her a try and we’ll happily take another class in the future :)
The Steak & Brussels Bowl at The Little Beet was such a pleasant surprise! I don’t usually like salads, but this one completely changed my mind. The grilled steak was tender and flavorful, the balsamic Brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes added the perfect balance of savory and sweet, and the chimichurri tied everything together beautifully. I’m officially obsessed. I can’t wait to go back for more! 🥗💚 It’s all good!
First time eating here. I was in NY visiting for the weekend and on our way to another spot but, I love a good bowl and stopped here instead. The food was so good I wanted to order a bowl to go for later. I'm definitely adding this to my favorites. I had the spicy pancha chicken bowl and substituted it with salmon. DELICIOUS!! The wait staff was friendly and polite.
We had a fab meal here. Came in hungry and worried as my mum is allergic to garlic and vegetarian which is very difficult. Norton who worked here was so incredibly helpful and patient and checked every item to see what she could eat. He really went above and beyond. The food itself was truly excellent. It was reasonably priced for stellar ingredients and just delicious. Can’t wait to come back!
Easily my favorite spot to get a healthy meal, and I feel satiated with my body feeling all happy every time! Shaquana helped me and she was so lovely I had to leave a review! So warm and helpful, and the dressings she recommended were on point! I got half quinoa and half salad as a base, with shaved Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, greens? (it was like collard greens) and salmon, and it was perfect🤌🏼 On top of Shaquana, everyone that works here is pleasant and I’ll gladly continue to come back to this location!
I recently visited The Little Beet, and it was such a fantastic experience! 🥗🌟 This place is a paradise for anyone who loves fresh and flavorful salads. They have an incredible variety of options, each one packed with vibrant ingredients and unique combinations. 🥬🍠🍋 What I loved most is how everything tastes so fresh and wholesome, making it the perfect spot for a healthy and satisfying meal. Whether you’re craving something light or a hearty bowl, they’ve got you covered. 🌿✨ If you’re looking for a place that celebrates fresh, delicious, and nutritious food, The Little Beet is a must-visit!
The food was good, what was most impressive was the assembly line and the team work, very well coordinated! I said my choices to the first person and didn't have to repeat, my bowl was assembled with the right ingredients! Very impressive, especially that I have a very low voice. I would say the experience alone is worth it. Impressive team work and good food!
I was very excited to come to Little Beet, having heard great things about the brand and their offerings. I used to work in food and climate, and even got to interview some of their corporate team members for a project. Pros: They have a number of premium, healthy, tasty options catering to a variety of diets. Big emphasis on flavor and plant-based dishes. Cons: - Portions are quite small and the pricing quite high compared to other health-oriented, fast casual competitors. Especially Avo, which is located right around the corner, and has a rewards system for regular customers. - My biggest con is arguably the fact that they do not allow customers to tip workers. I was shocked when I checked out, but was not prompted to tip digitally on screen. This is easily amendable on the Square app. I know plenty of places that are *premium* and think tipping is gauche, but so is paying your workers the minimal wage. I mean, foodservice workers depend on tips to make a living. It is over 50% of their income. For a company that prides itself on sustainability, the focus seems quite narrow. Sustainability isn’t just (environmental) — like sourcing and locality — it’s also (social) — and about caring for your employees and ensuring they’re properly compensated. It seems oxymoronic that Little Beet has not aligned these two pillars. Please amend your Square app so that we can tip your employees. They look tired and underpaid!
