One of the best thai restaurants I have ever been too. The thai tea was one of the best I have ever had. For entrees we got the crying tiger the soft shell crab curry and the duck curry. Everything was amazing. The duck was my favorite because it was so tender. The wait wasn’t even that long when they were busy. The price is definitely worth the food and experience
Wow! What a fantastic and thai meal to remember at Lum Lum. My wife did a lot of research before choosing Lum Lum for dinner in Hells Kitchen. Note: this place is popular! So reservations are highly recommended. We came on a Friday night and oh boy it was slammed! My wife made a reservation well in advance and they had a table waiting for us when we arrived at our reservation time. Primo service and kind servers add to the 5 star restaurant Lum Lum is. We ordered Khao Soi, Crying Tiger, and a Fried Pork for appetizer. Cocktail drinks were fantastic as well. 5 solid stars for Lum Lum and thank you for a stellar meal!
LUM LUM was a great experience. This Thai restaurant brought me right back to my trip to Thailand. The Khai Soi Gai was soooo creamy and delicious. pad ki mao was so good and very spicy. 10/10 I would come again. So glad My sisters and I decided to pop in last minute.
I always bring friends who are visiting NYC to this place. It’s a wonderful spot for Thai food in the city. I’ve been here several times, and it always exceeds my expectations. My go to dish is the steamed branzino with lime and herbs. The Crying Tiger, their signature steak over rice, is also excellent. (I didn’t have it this time- not included in photo) Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic Thai food in the city!
LumLum was awesome. The food came out in like 10 minutes max. The server was friendly and made some excellent recommendations. The Khao Soi was phenomenal, the meat fell off the bone and the broth was so flavorful. Chicken wings were perfectly crispy and tender. I’d definitely recommend this place
If you are craving some seafood, GO HERE! Fish is so perfectly seasoned and cooked, it’s mouth-watering good. The Tiger fried rice is also a great dish. The rice has so much flavor, topped with juicy cuts of steak. This place gets busy so make sure you make a reservation!
Very cute little Thai place by many of the Broadway shows. I came on a very cold day in the winter and the decor made me feel like I was on a little tropical island, super cute! The Crying Tiger and pork crackling rice were both very good and flavorful, but I think it could be a good idea to add a spice meter. I thought everything was very mild and could've used a higher dose of spice or more chili peppers, especially for the Crying Tiger.
Tbh, best Thai I’ve had in nyc (and I’ve been to the can’t-get-a-res hyped up places). The green curry with crispy duck was delighttttful. The turmeric curry with soft shell crab and pumpkin was my favorite thing we got. Ugh so good. The pad see ew was slightly above average (can’t improve that much on a classic) The taro mochi balls with coconut ice cream was simple and perfect. At 5:30pm on a Sunday we waited 30 mins for a table (text system). If I were to dig for a complaint, I think the duck was very slightly overcooked.
All dishes we ordered were excellent. The stand-out was definitely the fried branzino in chu chee curry. If you’re seeking a Thai restaurant to try, this is the place. You can stop looking. Come here!!
I had such a great experience at Lum Lum! I tried several different items from the menu the pork belly the fish the fried rice…everything I had was flavorful, fresh, and really well prepared it’s the kind of place where you want to keep ordering “just one more thing.” The only downside is I wish I took more photos of the food! What really made the night stand out, though, was the bartender KOKO. He was over the top friendly in the best way fun, welcoming, and full of great energy. He made the experience feel personal and genuinely enjoyable, not rushed or transactional. You can tell he loves what he does, and that kind of service makes a huge difference. Between the food, the vibe, and the amazing hospitality, I would absolutely recommend Lum Lum to anyone looking for a fun, tasty spot in Manhattan. I’ll definitely be back!
LumLum was such a cute little restaurant! The food and drinks were delicious. It was a little crowded inside there, so I definitely recommend making a reservation if you can, but it was worth it. I had the Crying Tiger, which had perfectly cooked steak! My wife ordered the Khai Jiao Poo, which is a thai-style crispy crab omelette and it was also really good.
We were wandering in the area, looking for a place to eat. This restaurant looked packed and lively so we decided to give it a shot. It was in fact entirely full, but spots opened up at the bar within a few minutes. The food and drinks were as delicious as they were visually appealing, and the vibe was a warm and inviting respite to chilly fall night. Would definitely come again.
I recently visited Lum Lum and tried their Crying Tiger Steak, and it was absolutely outstanding. The steak was cooked to perfection tender, juicy, and full of smoky flavor that paired beautifully with the dipping sauce. The garlic rice on the side was just as impressive, fragrant and perfectly seasoned with that irresistible garlicky aroma. Every element on the plate complemented the other, creating a comforting yet elevated Thai dining experience. If you’re looking for a dish that’s both bold and satisfying, Lum Lum’s Crying Tiger Steak is a must-try.
I had a good experience at Lum Lum! The food was delicious — the dumplings were super tasty, and the Pad Thai was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a great vibe. The only thing is that the tables are quite close to each other, so it’s not the best spot for a quiet or intimate dinner. But overall, the atmosphere is really nice, and the food makes it totally worth it. I’d definitely go back!

Awesome crab fried rice and sweet and savory dessert. Service was great, moved us to bigger table when we ordered a lot of food. Vibes are cozy casual but authentic.
Do yourself a favor. When they ask if you want an appetizer, say yes... I'll take one of each. They are all amazing! \nWorth the wait, great food, great drinks.

Good food, good ambience, always a wait though so we got lucky and snagged a spot at the bar.
I still think about the tiger rib eye months later, the food was amazing! even though we were picking up takeout, they were super nice and let us sit at a table with water

We had a reunion with NY relatives over lunch. We shared many of their specialties and enjoyed the good food and service.

Food was outstanding and great price. It’s crowded and not fancy but we would definitely go back. Great tastes and presentation. Really special
Amazing authentic thai food . Friendly service , very clean . Very tasty fresh food . Beautiful presentation . Would 100% recommend. This place was recommended to us by a New Yorker we met in …
Friendly service and great quality food. We had chicken pad thai and chicken fried rice excellent quality would highly recommend.
Excellent spot for tangy and flavor-packed Thai food. I recommend getting the chive pancake by a lot. The texture is very nice, glutinous but not too heavy. I also recommend the tiger shrimp which was cooked perfectly from head to toe as a light cook, accompanied by a ridiculously excellent spicy green sauce. The steamed fish had great texture, meaty and moist without being dry, and the sauce would go well with rice on its own. The sauce is very tangy and thus works well with the fish's flesh. I would order this again for two people. The crying tiger had a great rice but the steak was just normal. I was thinking about why I think the steak is normal and I realize that in most of these preparations you get flecks of salt that bring out the meatiness. Also in those preparations the meat is piping hot. Here the meat is a normal cut but could be better with a bit more technique. The space looks like a classic Thai place with the bamboo seats and wooden accents. For being "near" Times Square, it's an excellent find. One note: the mains are now $40+. Welcome to 2025 inflation.
First time here (on a solo adventure) and I will gladly come back! I had two servers recommend the Penang Nue for my first time, and it did not disappoint. The meat was cooked perfectly, the curry was so flavorful and the right amount of spice for me…Just a little sniffle lol…Even the plain rice was tasty. I had a seasonal cocktail, the green curry, that was pretty bland especially for $18…so I can’t speak on the cocktails being great. The mango sticky rice was out of season so I tried the taro mochi coconut dessert instead and loved it! I would definitely give this spot a try if you haven’t!
Virgin lychee mojito—too sweet, but loved the lychee garnish River prawn—smaller and less fresh than expected, but loved the green sauce Sour pork salad—would’ve liked more vegetables, but the crunchy rice and peanuts added texture Crying Tiger—steak was not as flavorful and tender as we would’ve liked, but the crispy shallot garlic rice and egg yolk were excellent Steamed fish—star of the show, flavors were perfect with the balance of lime, garlic. The broth tasted homey and refreshing. The fish itself was fresh, tender, and meaty. Dare I say comparable to Fish Cheeks. Taro mochi and coconut ice cream and salted egg—loved this to finish off our meal! Each component worked well with each other. Overall satisfied with our time here. We would come back and try other dishes :)
Cute restaurant, good food and great cocktails (recommend the green curry cocktail if you like egg white cocktails) The khao soi was a bit salty for me but still delicious as the chicken was soft and falling off the bone. Mango sticky rice dessert was good - especially the rice but mango seemed a bit stale? As if it was cut earlier - still good but not the greatest Restaurant is also very small with low ceilings so the tables are very very close together and thus the noise level feels very loud Def still recommend :)
I saw the impressive high ratings on Google map and decided to try it. I mean, 4.8 over 3K review. It gotta be so good. Well, maybe my expectations were too high. The food was good. But not like ‘omg this is so amazing’ good. That’s why I took a star off. We ordered a bunch of stuff. My personal no. 1 is the ton yum soup. The steamed fish was pretty good but the fish could be fresher. My group really liked the rice with the steak but it didn’t stand out to me. We also got taro cake and crispy pork belly. Pretty decent. It was quite loud in a small space. The staff are friendly and attentive. I would go back if I happen to be in that area.
Delicious and busy spot! Good ambiance for younger crowd. Tight tables but easier for folks to get in and seated.\n\nFood is delicious and decadent. Love their take on traditional thai dishes.

It has been a while since I’ve been upset with a meal while dining out. My mood was literally ruined while I was having this meal, which made this meal less enjoyable. The fresh branzino (steamed) that arrived this morning (recommended by the waiter) had a lot of bones and has more of a fish taste than I’d like. Also while you serve out the food from this dish, you need to be super careful and make sure you don’t tilt or spill the contents in the dish. I’d recommend this fish dish for anyone who really enjoys bones and likes the taste of fish. My husband really enjoyed the fish though. And the moon cocktail (waiter said this was his favorite cocktail so of course I had to give it a try) came at the end of our meal (and I had to ask twice for it prior, and asked for it to be cancelled because we were almost done with our meal) when it was the first thing that we ordered. When I wanted to cancel the cocktail order, they made it almost immediately. It had such a strong rum taste; I barely tasted any of the coconut flavor or any of the other ingredients in that drink. I only had like two sips of it and gave the rest to my husband. The chives and shrimp dumplings (recommended by the waiter) had a nice mochi skin texture, but barely had any shrimp in it. The pad kee mao had a good amount of seafood and tasted okay. When the waiter asked how everything was, I originally said that everything was okay, but when he asked a second time, I said, “Can I be honest with you? The fish has a lot of bones and is hard to eat and the cocktail really shouldn’t have came at the end of the meal.” He was very apologetic and said that the cocktail was of no charge and that if we would like, they can remove the charge of the fish too. But since my husband liked the fish, we said it’s fine, we will pay for the fish. He probably saw how upset I was at the meal, he brought out homemade complimentary coconut ice cream at the end of the meal for us. That ice cream was yummy and did make me feel better. We sat at one of the tables outside of the restaurant - if you want to be surrounded by the nyc traffic noise, loud passerbys and essentially have the classic hustle bustle nyc dining experience, this setting would be good for it. But if you’re looking for a more calm, relaxing and quiet meal, this might not satisfy your needs. Anyway, as I’m writing this review, I’m thankful for the follow-up service that the waiter provided to try to make my experience better. I’ve learned that what is recommended is not always suitable. I am most likely not going to be coming back here any time soon.
Good food, service and staff.\nTight space because the customers are too near each other.\nPricey for the amount of food served.

Do you ever read reviews and wonder if you went to the same place? That’s me right now. The staff were not friendly and not attentive. The tables are very close together. I haven’t had a drink in two years so I expected the mai tai to hit me. Instead, I’m not sure it contained any alcohol. It wasn’t particularly good - my friend only drank half of hers. The pas Thai wasn’t particularly flavorful. I don’t like spice, but it’s possible to be non-spicy and flavorful; this was just bland. Two positives: 1. Food was served extremely quickly. 2. It’s very close to the theatres.

One star just for the Thai iced tea. We ordered the crying tiger and the pork fried rice, and both were disappointing. The pork was deep-fried and simply piled on top of the rice; so crunchy it honestly felt like it could break your teeth. The fried rice itself was very average. For the steak, they didn’t ask how we wanted it cooked, and it seems like they only do it one way. It was also pretty bland, even with the sweet sauce. It came with rice topped with huge slices of garlic. If you don’t like eating whole garlic slices, this dish isn’t for you. There was also an egg yolk on the side (not sure what it was meant to add). The place is also quite small, so it can feel a bit cramped.
