Opinions de Moka Matcha New York
Loved their little quiche pie things and their lattes are so delicious, esp the pistachio latte. But they are quite pricey. The owners are such warm people. They are open late if you are looking for a coffee shop to concentrate and work for a long time!
Best coffee in NYC at this gem! Their Yemeni coffee with cardamom is unreal, prepared with love and passion. $6 for a large is unbeatable for this quality. The owner is incredibly kind and friendly, making every visit special. The atmosphere is adorable, with chill Middle Eastern music and cute design. Planned to grab and go, but stayed an hour soaking it all in. Will definitely return and recommend to friends!
I there for my friend's birthday and had an amazing time there. The service is amazing the place is clean, and calm. The food is delicious the drinks are so good. And the staff was so kind and helpful. I would defined recommend and go again
Randomly found this place today, looking for a hangout with decent sized tables I could work (I hate those places that only have those bullshit tiny circular ones). Really good coffee (I tried the cardamon flavored stuff they feature) and *killer* croissants. Like, well above average as they go. Really clean place. Solid, if not overly friendly service (It was like 3 dudes from Yemen, and you ain't gonna get the Starbucks barista experience from them, take that how you will). Well lit, no pressure place to hang out. I was there for about 1.5 to 2 hours. The coffee menu was pretty interesting over all. Bit more options than your standard $$$ joint. I'd look at the menu to see what I mean.
Really liked this place. Randomly saw it on my walk and made a note to try it out. It has a great atmosphere, good drink options (like a decent bit), for-here porcelain/glass cups, a good number of seats, allow pets (had a mid-size dog with me), and a clean bathroom. Not to mention that they didn't have music playing, so you could really talk with people and sit, enjoying the vibes/people watching from the window. Overall, will absolutely be back!
Talked with the owner from the place and he told me about the coffee they have. Always thought that it tasted really great but then I understood why. They have a special importer from Yemen where they get the raw beans from and then bring them to a local roaster here in NYC. Was lucky to try a fresh batch of newly roasted beans. Really recommend the place!
Moka Mo Coffee House is an absolutely lovely spot, with the most kind and welcoming owners. I was working on a short film in the area and asked if could use Moka Mo as a meeting place for our cast and crew. Not only did the owner, Mohammed, grant us permission to convene at the cafe, but he offered us a generous discount on all cafe products, and access to free water and restrooms. Moka Mo became a great support system for our project, and I am so grateful for their accessibility, flexibility, and openness to collaboration. If you are looking for a place that fosters community and kindness, you are sure to find it here in addition to a delicious menu of coffee, tea, and pastries. The owner is incredibly supportive of local artists and students, and I hope and encourage that the local community shares the love and support in return.
I had ordered their avocado toast and they are delicious. I love the the texture of the avocado and the cherry tomatoes. Would recommend to here again!!!!
The attention to detail and care for the customers they have is impressive. They go above and beyond and have a nice discount for students which is really nice. Definitely recommend. The ambience & layout is also very well done and gives you a feel of what Yemeni coffee is about.
We found this place on our way to The Folly bar where we dropped our daughters to enjoy their time together during our short vacation here in NYC. The barista, Yousef, is very friendly and nice. He was patience with us, took his time understanding what we wanted and making our drink the way we want it…I love this place and highly recommend it to anyone.
Good drip coffee. $5 small cup or $6 larger cup. Free WiFi and comfortable seating. Various pastries to pick from. Fresh beans and good seating.
Amazing coffee, and nice staff. Me and my wife had their house coffee which was just perfectly fresh and tasteful, while my daughter loved their Matcha Blueberry. Highly recommend!!!!!
Moka Mo Coffee House has a friendly vibe, with Italian staff who bring a nice touch of warmth to the place. I ordered a white mocha latte, and it was fine sweet, creamy, and what you’d expect from a typical coffee shop drink. It did the job as a pick-me-up for the day, though it wasn’t anything standout. For the price, it felt a little on the expensive side compared to what you actually get. Overall, it’s a decent spot if you’re nearby and need a quick coffee, but not somewhere I’d go out of my way for.
Excellent! I was pleasantly surprised by this “Yemen” style coffee house. They have a really good operation here, fast & friendly service, and the food was hot & fresh. I had a latte with milk, and it was perfect. The foam was on point & the coffee robust, yet smooth; it really was delicious. The warmed cinnamon roll with icing was tasty, the bread is on the firmer side, but still the flavor good & it tasted fresh. I also had the chicken puff pastry & it was heavenly; seriously, this pastry is the stuff dreams are made of 🤤 I briefly read the negative reviews from and I found them silly. The coffee is excellent & the decor is clean, fresh & stylish for a coffee shop. Seriously, someone complained about the artwork 🤷♂️. Ha! It’s not a museum, but the decor is modern, & clean, & perfectly fine for an upscale coffee house in SoHo. There isn’t music, but that’s fine. Geez, put in your earbuds 🤣 I saw nothing lacking & I would 100% give this place a try. I’m thankful I did!
I was with my friend and the coffee lattes we ordered were really good. Also, Yousef, the guy who served us, was really nice and he also wrote our names in our cups in Arabic, which we find sweet.
One of the best croissants I’ve had in New York! The inside was incredibly buttery and moist—absolutely delicious. I also tried the pistachio latte, which was nice, but I think it would be even better if it were a little less sweet.
The staff are as sweet as the desserts! Stopped in during the heatwave for a delicious slice of rose milk cake and an iced mocha. Coffee was fabulous and the cake was perfect texture. I only wish the rose flavor was a bit stronger, but it was still lovely and refreshing with such nice ambiance all around.
My family and friends visited NYC last week and unexpectedly discovered this hidden gem. They serve the most amazing Dubai chocolate, Dubai chocolate crepes, and milkcakes! The baristas were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, sharing insights about Yemeni culture and allowing us to smell various coffee blends. Their chai tea was delightful, finishing with a touch of pure honey at the bottom of the cup. It was truly one of the most memorable experiences of our trip! I wish I lived in NYC—I'd visit every day!
Chill coffee shop with authentic Yemeni beverages (and more). I loved the spiced chai
Absolutely love this cafe!!! I've been on a hunt for a good refresher for a while and FINALLY I can say that yes I've found the one. I'm a 1000% sure that all the other menu items are great as well and looking forward to trying them all...wish they open one close to me in Queens though I love coming to Soho and definitely this has become my new spot now. The staff were super friendly and nice and also went the extra mile to make my refresher extra special (he gave me off the menu item Iced Hibbicus Refresher) and their Pistachio Croissant was delicious😋 super nice and clean as well...I recommend everyone to try this new cafe in town❤️
I came here for breakfast and a coffee, I got the zaatar flatbread and mozzarella sesame bread - both delicious. Maleki coffee has great cinnamon flavor!! Staff so friendly and helpful!
Absolutely loved the drinks at Moka Mo Coffee House! The hibiscus refresher was hands down the best I’ve had! It was super flavorful and refreshing. I also tried the Adeni chai, which was really good and had a unique taste that set it apart. The staff were very polite and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Definitely a new favorite spot!
We stopped in here to grab a coffee and rest after a long day of walking. This is my first time in NYC and Moka Mo was so relaxing. I had a caramel macchiato which was amazing. The owner also let us try that chai as we were sitting. Highly recommend stopping in here!
Pistachio late was unreal. The service was incredible, the young man from Egypt is a one of a kind person!
Food: Chocolate mousse cake + hot lavender matcha latte. Love it so much!!! Highly recommend this cute chic place for tea and dessert. Service: friendly Atmosphere: plenty of small seats and medium noise
Outstanding hospitality and delicious food and drinks. Pistachio latte one of the best I’ve had. They treat you like family here. Coming back every time!
The hot chocolate! Amazing! Would highly recommend with caramel topping!

Enjoyed the visit here. Beef pastry& espresso were great and even better conversation with Ihab. Nice work.

Fatima was so kind, welcoming, and accommodating. Some drink options were limited, but she let us know how she could wake it work for what we wanted. The pastries were delicious, and the drinks were incredibly good and well-balanced. Will go back!
The place is nice. Not enough space to sit. Cheese cake is good. Matcha is good too

The coffee is horrible. Asked for a hot pistachio latte, and the bottom of the cup was literally cold. Made for a tepid disgusting subtly pistachio taste. Also got a dubai chocolate bar, and that was wayy too sweet. I think I got prediabetic just tasting a piece
A warning to anyone wanting to come here in the winter - IT IS VERY COLD! They have barely any heating. I had to wear my hat and winter jacket the whole time I sat here and my hot drink got cold quite quickly. I was hoping to use my computer and do some work, but my hands were literally too cold. Would not recommend visiting in the colder months.

I got FOOD POISOING from drinking their black tea. I never been this sick from drinking a black tea so they must’ve sold contaminated or molded tea before they boil it and sell it to the customers. Do they not check expiration date or check for mold before boiling their tea? It’s disgusting
The man behind the register was rude, I was with my mother so I didn't want to make a commotion, but he was outright rude, not suitable for being in a hospitality/service position. While making our order, he was making it apparent that he was being impatient, and repeatedly tapped his fingers on the register. I would definitely not be coming back here again.
