Randomly stumbled across this restaurant after theMet. Incredibly friendly and fast getting us our food. Which, was incredible! You need to get the warmed goat cheese, and turkey salad! And their sourdough toast does not disappoint!

Nice place for soup and coffee Nancy and George in the front do a good job Georgia, Siobhan the servers were very helpful. 64 tables it gets packed some comments say it’s pricey, but it’s a real New York diner, and a lot more reasonable than the food in the nearby Met Museum.

We went on a Sunday at about 12:30 pm. It was SUPER busy but the food is good. Not exceptional, but good. Our waitress seemed a bit lost - likely she was new or stressed? We had to ask for cutlery. No one came to fill our water. We didn’t get napkins. My area of the table was sticky with syrup? The sausage was good. Overall, definitely a good place to eat.

The mozzarella sticks were cold on the inside and hard on the outside. Key lime pie was $10 and did not taste good. Very expensive and kept rushing us to order and pay. Atmosphere was not bad.

$39 for a reuben!?! And they forgot the Russian dressing... This place is a complete rip-off in terms of prices. I get the area is more upscale, but this is totally standard diner food but a 5 star prices. I wish I could give it a higher rating because the staff and seating was like a classic diner, which was cozy and enjoyable, but the prices couldn't justify it. The owners should be ashamed of their pricing and they are really alienating anyone who would ever want to come here multiple times.

I walked in here as a single person looking to grab dinner before going to work. When I asked for a table a gentleman I assumed was the owner asked me if I’m eating I said, of course that’s why I’m in a diner. I felt like I was on display at a zoo. He kept watching me for some reason. 10 minutes later another single person walked in obviously he knew him told him he could sit anywhere he wants and said nothing more. He made me feel extremely uncomfortable here not a great atmosphere for me. Everyone’s experience may vary. This is just mine. I will not go back there.

We were at The Met Museum and wanted to have a nice lunch since they are renovating the cafeteria type restaurant. We were told to check out Nectar and were warned it was overpriced. They were right! I know it’s upper east side on Madison Ave but please! Our server was friendly but the food was average. A veggie burger didn’t come with anything on the side except a weird tasting pickle and some slaw, and was $15. The filling of the spanicopita (Spinach Pie) was delicious but the flakey Filo crust tasted off and was a bit over baked. Hers was $34!! Fool me once, shame on you. I wont be going back.

I visited Nectar for a late breakfast before heading to the Met. I ordered the BBQ half chicken and the penne pasta. Unfortunately, the chicken was undercooked – there was visible blood on the bone, and it had a strong bloody smell that made it very unpleasant to eat. While I understand and respect the practice of tipping for good service and food, I was quite disappointed to see a 20% gratuity automatically added to the bill, especially given the quality of the food we received. This experience left me very dissatisfied, and I hope the restaurant takes this kind of feedback seriously.

Just had a quick lunch here. The waiter and staff were friendly and attentive, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, my interaction with the owner, George, was disappointing. While I was waiting to use the restroom, he was rude and made me feel unwelcome. That experience really left a bad impression and makes me hesitant to return.

They get mad because the tip is too low. Just the rude staff giving first a completely different bill. Extra with credit card man. And complaining for a "tip" never coming back bravo :)

First of all, the food was not good yet overpriced. But given the location, I expected that. However, the server we got was extremely rude, who kept pushing when we needed a minute to decide what to get. It was way before their closing time and we did not even take more than 10 minutes. Then during the check out, she selected the tip amount for us, and misleadingly told us “just sign here” in a condescending way without informing us the option to choose other amount, which really pissed me off. This is purely my speculation, but it was probably because we looked like international travelers who are not familiar with the tipping scene. But to be clear, only the server we got was horrible, the front waitress who led us to the table was extremely nice and friendly. Giving one star here just so the owner can maybe provide some more training or at least raise some awareness.

Other reviews have covered that the food is decent but very overpriced. The staff ignored us completely after dropping off our food. I ordered a coke and got a tiny glass that was mostly ice with maybe 2-3 oz of actual coke and was empty for 80% of the time I was at the table. We were in at a slow time and multiple servers were just standing around chatting. I asked about a refill at the end and they simply said "No" while shoving a credit card reader in my face.
