Always awesome. Rick lets us do three songs. Imcomparable. Good players too. I owe the bartender a better tip! Powers. Draft is unpredictable.
BESTTTTTTTT irish pub in the city, I even met two old irishmen here and they said so too👍 Live music is great
Great bar. Great music. Great atmosphere. (I didn't eat anything -- that's why I didn't review the food).
Been coming here on and off for over twenty years. The staff are always what brings me back, and also the excellent live music. I heard it's changing ownership this season, I hope they manage to keep the vital energy of this essential manhattan bar.
Well no photos to share, so sorry about that.. but I am not a city person at all and have never been to a true authentic Irish bar .. sooooooo let me just say!!! Holy SH!T... I wish I could go every weekend. I was in NY for the craicfest to see #americonned and was taken to this holy grail afterward.. the atmosphere was amazing, the music was everything i have ever imagined an Irish bar to be.. bartender was so friendly as well as the few people who I encountered from the group I was with.. can't wait to hopefully go back soon.. 🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮
They don’t do food so hard to judge but great Irish culture with lots of Irish and full of crack
Paddy reillys best bar in NY. Comfortable, welcoming, great drink options, music and entertainment spot on with live music and sports on TV. Great atmosphere, great bar staff. Desi has a brilliant run bar! Must go to!
Was here last week over from Ireland with friends the atmosphere and the staff were 💯 And the locals were very welcoming Live irish music best night we had while in NYC
The five stars are for the commitment to live music. Good quality music is on most (all?) evenings. Plus its a friendly local, both patrons and staff contribute to a good feel in the bar. Good place to chill.
By Far the best Guinness you’ll get in New York, the service is unreal and the bar staff so lovely, home away from home, had the best time here! Desi you legend!
Probably one of the best if not the single best one, irish pub in NYC. You do not come here for a fancy, crafty and wide variety of drinks. No food served neither. For beer they only have reliable Guinness and a couple more. You come here for the great vibe, autentic decor, and the fantastic irish live music Monday to Monday. Average prices, and cover at the door for live music.
The original and still undefeated HQ for Irish music in Manhattan. Guinness and trad, every night. What more do you want?
A great pub that makes you feel to be in Ireland. We walked through the neighbourhood and found this nice looking pub. We decided to grab a belayed St. Patricks day Guinness. The service was friendly and fast to serve our desired gold. Later the evening a band started to play. It reminded me of the days when I was in the pubs in Dublin. If you look for an authentic Irish pub, Paddy Reilly's Music Bar is your place to go. Sláinte!
I went for my first time on the last day before their closing for 2 months closure for renovations. The environment was filled with true Irish hospitality and music. I cannot wait till they open again. Loved it!
live music, typical but very reliable and relaxing nyc irish bar. great place to hear some noise and grab a drink. Try the Guinness
Great, great spot for jolly Irish music. Good acoustics; small neighborhood feel. Such a refreshing change from the usual dismal bar scene. Pool table in the back if you're so inclined.
So much fun! Feels like an authentic Irish experience, I heard Hozier even performed there once! Had a great time would go back
The music is better than the drinks. Black 47 started here. In the 90's when I lived on 37th and Second, my husband (who's Scottish not Irish) and I came here a lot. Really loved it.
Great live music Irish pub, fun atmosphere and friendly staff
Great pub in the neighborhood, clean pool table in the back too + usually have live music here
Outstanding. It's such a fun place. Staff are so friendly and helpful . The music is another level. One of the best bars in NYC.
Outstanding NYC bar and music venue. The regulars are all friends, all visitors are welcomed. The taps are clean. 🧨
Great Irish pub that serves a proper pint of Guinness. Live nightly music (no cover charge) makes for a fun night
Dessi and Jo are a winning combination, I so wish we had time for a revisit during our stay. Great pub, best Guinness and good live music. If ever I go back to NY this will be my safe spot!!
Great time, great Guinness, great music. We had a little get together there in the back room and really enjoyed ourselves. The food they made for us was way above and beyond what I expected (I expected corn beef and cabbage, and nothing else :) ).
The best airs bar in NYC hands down. Music is great, drinks, crowd etc. Everyone is super friendly and it is actually a clean establishment unlike so many other bars in NYC. Highly recommend.
Eugene and Will are the best bartenders in the city! I couldn’t recommend anywhere else for better Guinness, live music, and the craic! Eugene has a special talent for pouring the perfect pint of Guinness. Call in if you’re ever in the mood for a pint and Irish trad music!
I play there regularly and come in on my days off when I can. It’s the Best place for locals and visitors for live music! It’s a claim to fame to be in there, but it’s also like instant family with the staff, always such a great time. It’s always hard to go home!!!
Bartender Kevin is the goat. Music and drinks are 10/10
Clean pool table and great Irish beers on draft. Can honestly say Eugene is the best bartender I’ve had in quite some time. Definitely worth a visit
Guinness beer. Live music. Jams. Every night is fun. Historic bar. Lots of antique things. Very good staff. Atmosphere is so authentic. Great bar. Owner is so nice to allow so much music and good times. Open Mic nights also. A fantastic place!! Service is excellent. Atmosphere is wonderful. You will enjoy it. Everyday day is a bit different. Check the calendar. I highly recommend it. There is a pool table in the back room, too. Nothing like this great music bar in the City! It's fabulous.
Good live music fire Guinness 🔥
So many bars in NYC but there is something extra special about Paddy Reilly's. Great atmosphere, great service, and wonderful hosts. Don't hesitate to go you will not be disappointed.
So it's like this. I have gone to Paddy Reilly's about four times in my life. These four times were just about the greatest times you can have in a bar. Yesterday I went there to see a friend off to Spain I would up having a spirited conversation with two guy I'd never met about which borough has the best Italian sandwiches. The more people we talked to the greater the conversation grew. The man who owns the bar is a gem of guy. The beer is cold the liquor is proper the door rattles when it swings cause there's no stopper. Thought of this three Dewars and water in. Leave your ego at the door and enjoy a night of festive live music and dancing.
Happened to be in the area and decided to step inside, Im Glad i did! This is such a welcoming place! Super Irish and what’s not to love about that! The place is as traditional as traditional Can get. The Bartender is super nice and welcoming.I’m glad I stepped inside, I will definitely consider stopping by again if I’m ever in the area again.
This is my FAVORITE pub to go to when I'm in NYC. The locals are incredibly friendly, the music is awesome, and the bartenders are the best! Jackie is a top NYC bartender!!! If you're looking for food here, well... there is not kitchen, but the experience makes up for it. You won't be disappointed!
My wife and I came here on our honeymoon and couldn't have had a better time. The staff here we're the friendliest people I've ever met. Amazing cocktails, dancing and singing. Everything you want on a night out. Will definitely be going back when I'm back in NYC
Very fun time at a cozy Irish pub. Live Irish band, friendly service, and it wasn't crowded at all. I went here with a group of a dozen friends and we had a blast dancing and drinking and singing along with the band. I felt like Jack Dawson in the bellows of the Titanic 3rd class underground. Good times.
Darts, pool, live music, and great Guinness. One of the best Irish pubs in the city at the moment. Pretty reasonably priced
Band was phenomenal. Met love of my life here. She didn’t feel the same but still, amazing bar.
Amazing pub, the best pint of Guinness you will get in New York!! Great live music, all of the staff and the owner is also so nice!!! Great vibe overall!! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly - it’s a perfect place for any age group looking to have some drinks!
Really nice place, fantastic atmosphere and the most authentic Irish music you’ll get in New York. Great AC which is great in the hot weather. Fantastic staff and fantastic owner! Irish born and bread. Highly recommend
We snapped a photo of Brian because he was awesome! We were so thankful to find an Irish pub within walking distance from our hotel. The drink prices were some of the most reasonable we found over our weekend in NYC and Brian was one of the most friendliest bartenders. He was welcoming, hilarious and told us all about his time in NYC. The bar never got too crowded either and we were able to enjoy our conversation. He even played one of my favorite artists over the music. ❤️ Just an all around great bar and we will definitely go back if and when we are ever in NYC again.
Went to Paddys two nights in a row in the middle of the week on an impromptu trip to new york for the wild card game. My husband loves irish pubs so naturally we found the one bar open late and had a blast talking with fellow customers and the bartenders Brian and Gracie. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Wholesome place. Was not busy when we went but I'm sure on the weekends its packed.
We happened upon this place one night while out looking for a place to listen to live music and grab a drink. We had a blast! I love Jameson so I was in heaven as they had three or four different kinds, and the live music that evening was incredible! We'll definitely be back the next time we come for a visit in the City!
Best bar around for live Irish music and a great pint
No real food, good drinks, friendly staff, great atmosphere.
Amazing hospitality, great live music every night. Friendly atmosphere. Great staff especially Katie. Great place. Highly recommended. I've lived in Manhattan for 32 years so I know which places are special!
What a cute bar! So few of these left in NYC. I do wish they had Irish coffee though.
I came here the Friday before St. Patrick's day and was not disappointed. They had live music on a small stage with a large crowd singing along to Irish folk tunes. The atmosphere was lively and reminded me a lot of Dublin pubs. The service was a bit slow, as there were too many patrons and too few bartenders. If they could improve that ratio, this place would be a fantastic place.
I've been going to all the top ratedd Guinness pours in the city and this place always comes up. Finally went today and it is definitely my favorite pint. The lines are extremely clean and the pours reflect it. Nothing ruins a good pint like more than dirty lines. Also, the bar tenders are super attentive. Didn't get a chance to hear live music, but I'm pretty sure that's a great vibe too. 10/10
Absolute gem this place! Great live music, great drinks & beer selection. Very much enjoyed the crowd and atmosphere. Bar was absolutely packed, even still, had great timely service from engaged bartenders. Will be back.
Great Irish pub classic. Friendly and helpful bartender who knows how to pour a Guinness . Good music. Very reasonable prices.
5 stars for the lovely bartender from Drogheda who looked after us so well! We’re so sorry we pulled an Irish goodbye and didn’t get to thank you properly. You made our night the drinks, the chats, the craic. We genuinely thought we’d make it back in again. Thanks for the amazing hospitality
Wonderful Irish bar with live music every night. No cover, no minimum the night I was there, but I don't know if that's true every night. We had a wonderful time, and I plan to go again next time I'm in the city.
If you are looking for a place that has great quality open mics and live entertainment, this is it. The musicians were amazing and the crowd was receptive and I had a blast playing my original music and cover songs. Bar service was excellent and our parking was within two blocks, Free after 7pm.
If you’re looking for a spot that perfectly captures the spirit of live music, great vibes, and an authentic Irish atmosphere, Paddy Reilly’s Music Bar is the place to be. What sets Paddy Reilly’s apart is its dedication to live music and the friendly staff who are always ready to pour you a perfect pint of Guinness & speaking of Guinness, this might just be one of the best pours in the city. The crowd at Paddy Reilly’s is a great mix of locals, tourists, and music enthusiasts. Paddy Reilly’s is a must-visit. It’s a rare find in NYC’s nightlife scene and one that will keep you coming back. Highly recommended!
Great wee spot for a couple of drinks and a bitta craic. The live music is great and the drinks are cheaper than anywhere else in the area. Desi is a legend and always makes you feel welcome. They’ve also started accepting card recently so that makes it handier if you aren’t carrying any cash!
Brilliant bar although didn't visit when live music was on but loved the music that was playing. First time in NYC. Paddy Reilly's was first bar we visited on Thursday when we arrived & we made a quick visit again on Sunday prior to flying back to UK at night. The bartender on Thursday (think it's William) & Desi on the Sunday were amazingly friendly & I wish we'd had more time to spend in their bar but trying to cram in so much in 3 days meant we only had the two fleeting visits. The Guinness is fabulous. 👌 Cash or card accepted & they'll soon have later licence too since being taken over by Desi recently. Desi even persuaded me & my wife to have a few extra drinks before we left saying we would have plenty of time to get to airport. He's correct as I'm typing this awaiting to board. Will definitely return to the bar once I've paid off this trip in +10 years!
A fine friend lead us to Paddy’s as part of an NYC Guinness tour. The pour was perfect and the draft fresh, just the right amount of wateriness. Add on top of that the warm lit and wooden environs, and it’s a recipe for magic. Sad to find out that they will be closing their doors for good at the end of March. Def worth a stop in to pay respects.
Delightful, cozy Irish pub, with live music on most nights. I went on open mic night, so the actual quality of the acts varied wildly, but I still had a lot of fun, mainly because the atmosphere is so welcoming and relaxing. Props to the bartender (Gracie) for making a complete stranger feel welcome on his first visit.
The time I came it was bustling, there was live performance from an Irish band, very crowded, close to impossible to have any personal space but everyone had a blast it seemed!
This place is a holdover from "old New York." And in this case? That's a very good thing. Live, Irish music basically every night and open mic on Saturday. Guinness is the order of the day here. That kinda place. A plug for a buddy of mine: The guy pictured is Jem Warren. I've known him for a while and he's friggin fantastic. Definitely check out his stuff! Incredible lyricist and performer.
If you're looking for an authentic Irish pub with great live music and plenty of Guinness this is the place for you. I went there on St. Patty's day and had a blast. I definitely recommend a trip out there.
Cool irish bar, Caitlin the bartender was very nice and accomodating. Would have been 5 stars but the phone was a bit loud and obnoxious. Otherwise definetly reccomend coming here.
It can be hard to find a decent Guinness outside of Ireland and the UK, but this one was great! Open mic night on Tuesday’s good fun too
The vibe is divey yet lively with a pool table, darts, sports on TV and no cover charge, making it great for groups or solo visits near Midtown East. Hours stretch late (11 AM to 2-4 AM depending on the day), so it's ideal for after‑work drinks or late‑night tunes.
Took a min to get a drink but that's because the place was packed but a bartender walked past me but didn't stop at me and went to someone else. I had to wait for another bartender but once I got a drink, it was a good drink. The atmosphere is very lively and active. Good conversation with people and live music. Definitely going back soon!
We are in the party room so.food was catered from another place the drinks from the bar were good and not so strong whisky sours. No milk drinks. No irish coffee. I would have liked that the band by the bar that night was a little loud for me but we didn't hear it from the party room. Decent space lacking more tables ..maybe they need space for dancing
Paddy's is an authentic NYC Irish pub. The decor of the bar, music and drinks are all very Irish. The service, vibe and atmosphere are very NY. Paddy's is an awesome place to go if you're flying solo but it's lacking if you seek an environment to kick-back and have a few beers with some friends. If it's packed the waiters rarely come ask if you need anything so you have to compete in a battle royale at the one counter. They don't sell food, some people spin that as an Irish pub thing when it's really just a "not having a kitchen" thing. Not super expensive for the location, good food nearby and they don't care if you eat outside food at the tables. They have a pool table. It's kinda like a toy. Bar sized and you're lucky if any of the 8 drunk people waiting in line have any idea how to play the game. Great place to go if you're halfway decent because you will never get kicked off the table as winner stays. The bar is very Irish, but it's spirit is very NY. It doesn't suck, but I've seen Irish people treated as if there's nothing cool or unique about them visiting NY and wanting to go to a pub. Kinda sad at times. I'd recommend this place to someone 25 to 35 who's trying to get an easy lay or just wasted within an hour. Id avoid if youre a college student or are looking to go with a group of 4 or more. For those people check out Fitzgerald's Pub on 25th and 3rd, they serve food but no live music.
Not many beers on tap. Just mostly Guinness. They have harp but in a bottle. No smithwick's @ all. The bar has that feel though and aesthic of being a bar. (Not a dive bar..but just the feel.) Live bands play here which is nice. They have a pool table in back. Darts, apparently it's BYOD.
Good Guinness, but no live music…
Fun bar that mostly is exactly as you expect. Fun music. Sometimes live music. Solid neighborhood spot. Was there once where they ran out of glasses because no one was washing them. Which was a real amateur move, but that had not happened to me before.
They charge you 10% on credit cards without warning or a posting that they will do so. They do not provide an itemized receipt. They have an ATM, which might be cheaper than 10% if you take out enough cash. You wouldn’t know to do so, however, seeing as they do not tell you they are charging you this extra money to use a card. Otherwise, this is an awesome spot and it sucks that they’re employing predatory practices. I would have happily volunteered the 10% if I knew I was being charged.
Had planned to come here for new years eve as there was live music.. In the door (We were drenched!).. to a bouncer pointing at another guy for an ID check (all fair enough).. the guy doing the ID check laughed at Irish driving licenses - didn't know what they were... told us it was a $10 cover charge per person.. NO hint of an Irish welcome at all ! Out the door we went & into Failte next door - best decision we ever made! Our New Years was salvaged !
Do not go here if you want to be protected by the owners and bouncers of this place. After a patron encountered a racist experience. The bouncers and one of the owners went to the situation and met the patron with violence by punching and pushing the party of the patron. They did not ask questions and were super aggressive towards the party affected.
A disgusting place, and not just talking about their disgusting floors and bathrooms. My Asian friend was discriminated against. He was first verbally assaulted and then physically assaulted by a bouncer. The bouncers reasoning was he “needed to be put in his place” and “he was asking for it”. Never seen a display of racism in real life like this, and would highly discourage anyone from visiting such a poorly run establishment.
This is the most racist and unprofessional bar I’ve ever been to. Do not go here. You will get verbally and physically assaulted by both the customers and bouncers/owners. It was the worst night I’ve ever had in nyc, and a very very upsetting experience. I hope this bar gets shut down.
RACISM RACISM RACISM! I have never reported a business for racism but what I witnessed was appalling. To see the bar speak and act so negatively towards Asian Americans was deplorable. As a white person I am telling you now, unless you are white this is a bar who does not support you or cares about you. I would NEVER step foot in this bar again. And I recommend no one ever step foot in this rotten spot. And I know what you’re thinking “oh they just had a bad experience” but this is beyond that. Awful place.
Very small bar with extremely rude staff!! Don't waste your time, had the worst time here!
Disgusting treatment from the employees. Do not go here if you like to have fun.
