Opinions de Tue Thai Food New York
Service was great, aesthetic and cute atmosphere for dining! Be specific about your spice level when you’re ordering as I got something a bit mild but it wasn’t really as flavorful as I expected. Enjoyed my time at Tue Thai though!
My to go spot in the west village, great food, good prices and great location!
AMAZING! I’ve been many times. Food is great, service is fast and staff is friendly, and prices are very good (especially for the neighborhood). Everything I’ve had on the menu has been delicious. The drunken noodle is a personal favorite. FYI if you are a vegetarian many of the rice-based dishes are made with fish oil (I think— best to confirm with staff because this is based off of one instance), which I don’t think is made clear on the menu. However, I’ve been here with vegetarian friends and done family style, so I can say for sure that there are plenty of other vegetarian options.
Best Thai food !!! I had Drunken Noodle with Shrimp and it's the best. The staffs were really nice and attentive. Definitely coming back here
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tue Thai Food, and it was a truly delightful experience. The staff at this Thai restaurant exceeded my expectations with their warm hospitality and attentive service. From the moment I stepped in, I felt welcomed and valued as a customer. The menu offered a wide variety of authentic Thai dishes that were bursting with flavors. The Pad Thai I ordered was absolutely scrumptious, and the Green Curry had the perfect balance of spices. The staff members were knowledgeable about the menu and were more than happy to recommend their personal favorites. The cozy ambiance added to the overall dining experience, making it a perfect place for a relaxing meal. I highly recommend Tue Thai Food to anyone looking for delicious Thai cuisine and exceptional service.
Food was fantastic! I enjoyed every part of this place. Although it was 3 of us we spent almost 200$ many food and drinks. The last drink we got we very little alcohol or none the most maybe we had 2 shots and 2 drinks each but it didn’t taste like none was in there. I’ll definitely come back just would have to tell them to make the drink little more stronger and less sweet. Other then that we had a good time and definitely recommend this place for Thai Authentic Cuisine.
Great Thai food. Perfectly seasoned. But most importantly the staff is beyond excellent. Always with a smile in their face (not common in NYC), fast and extremely polite. The kitchen moves extremely fast and food starts to come immediately. The place is clean and the atmosphere is great.
Delicious food and great drinks for an awesome price during happy hour. Loved the lychee mimosa! My only concern is that service took a looooong time. You guys might be understaffed and you wanna consider hiring more servers/bussers. But the servers you do have were lovely and seemed like they were doing their best to get to everyone. Would come back :)
Find an excuse to check out this restaurant soon. I favor TUE THAI FOOD due to their delicious dishes and attentive employees. TUE THAI FOOD creates dishes that please. In every case, the food here is notably good. This comfortable spot appeared in my online findings.
One of my favorite lunch places. Entree, appetizer, drink, and salad for less than $10. The quality of the food can vary from time to time, but always at least better than average Thai restaurants. I always go with Pad Thai, golden fritters, and Thai iced tea. The salad dressing isn't my favorite (somewhat strong fish sauce taste) but bearable.
The food here makes other places seem ordinary. The workers are quick yet thoroughly friendly. The restaurant experience was flawless. Their dishes demonstrated cooking skill. I sincerely find this place impressive.
We went to this restaurant during our stay at NYC. It was a great surprise : people working here are very kind, and the food was tasty and portions were generous. The « Pad Thai » is excellent and the « Thai Iced Coffee » was also a great one. Wish we had more time to test more dishes !
ughhh why have I not discovered this place before. Life changing for my stomach🤤😋 I am not a huge fan of spicy food but I took a risk with this dish and they left no crumbs. Sooo tasty, spicy of course but the waitress made sure to get my rounds of water in , super friendly too. 100% will be returning, and you should too! Excited to try more items on their menu!!!!
Great comfort thai foods are served here. Not the best in the city but sufficient enough for me to call it a nice thai restaurant. The ambience is also nice. Staffs are also friendly. Would recommend for casual or intimate dining with friends and family. A person costs around $30 including tips. They close at 3.45 and reopen at 5 which is not mentioned on Google.
Never Tue much Thai food Stoped by @tuethainyc when my parents were in town. It was one of the few places we could get in that wasn’t a 4 hour wait time without reservations - not sure why since the food is delicious! We ordered chicken pad Thai, red curry chicken, edamame, and Thai dumplings with chicken and shrimp. Oct '21
This is a complete masterpiece of a thai food restaurant. It was so good that instead of writing this review I should just start throwing money at them, wait, I guess I already am throwing my money into their pockets!!!! And they earned it. When you cook chicken pad thai which tastes as good is Tue Thai, you better expect me to absolutely go ham on eating their food. I loved it. And the thai curry was a work of art... I mean, lemon grass in the Thai soup? Geniuses. I loved it. And tried to order it again over grub hub but it was too cold outside for the delivery drivers. I kinda felt like golem without my precious when I realized I wasn't going to have another bite of that thai goodness due to inclement whether. Oh well. Next time I come to new york I know where I'm going. Tue Thai and then wrap my day up at cellar dog. Keep up the good work folks.
My partner and I both really enjoyed our entrees at Tue last night. I got the pumpkin curry, and my husband ordered the pad se ew. Both were delicious. My curry was packed with fresh veggies and a delicious, robust curry. The service was also very good. We definitely recommend Tue for hearty Thai cuisine.
Been here probably a dozen times always delivers a solid meal. Cute basic place nice outdoor seating, their pad.thai is a good balance of flavors and they get the noodle texture correct every time… Also, I’ve had just vegetable dishes with tofu and they keep them fresh and tasty always reliable
I now tell everyone this is where they should eat. This place is small but charming. The workers were exceptional! Their food surpassed what I thought possible. I back their quality and service.
This might be my favorite Thai spot in all of Manhattan (not beating Queens though, my 🐐), and I've tried A LOT of Thai restaurants here. The portions are actually sizable, for once I felt like an entree was enough without the need for an appetizer. The appetizers we did get though, the Thai chili wings, probably some of the best Thai chili wings I've ever had. The restaurant itself has a quaint decor, and was very inviting overall. Definitely come check this place out if you're ever in Greenwich Village or the NYU area.
If you’re walking by this spot, you’d probably miss it. The subtle exterior hides the inviting interior with a sort of false wall in front of the windows. I’m so happy I gave it a shot. I want something delicious and different from the Italian and pizza I’ve had lately. The Spicy Crispy Basil Fish did just that. Smothered in veggies with loads of perfectly cooked, lightly batter fish, and a heat I could taste but didn’t overwhelm, I’m walking away from here with a satisfied smile. Now I’m going to walk for like 20 blocks to try to make room for dinner tonight.
I love Thai food and always get pad see ew or drunken noodles. First time ordering here, to go. Got pad see ew with chicken. Read another review that said the portion is huge. Portion is actually normal for pad see ew. But it costs $18 here. You can go to Little Mint if you order to go few dollars less for same amount. They also have lunch special which most Thai restaurants do. This restaurant is small, cute and romantic inside so if you eat in, it’s great. I will order from here again since I work one block away. Food tastes good =)
TUE Thai is a small restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and decent food. The menu has a large selection of popular Thai foods, including dry and soup noodle options. Food comes out relatively quickly and service staff are friendly. The portion and serving sizes are adequate for a single person and I did not feel hungry after the meal. Overall a nice small Thai restaurant that is worth checking out if you are in the area and looking for food.
Cute establishment. Yummy lunch special, also quite affordable and filling. I tried masaman curry here for the first time, I loved it! I don’t handle spice well but I do appreciate the slightest kick, so it was perfect for me. Also had the salad (scrumptious dressing) and the Thai dumplings (also would recommend). I also liked the Thai iced tea, this one tasted like more tea than sweetness which is what I prefer. Service was great, would happily return :)
I’ve been visiting this local Thai place for over five years and speak for each visit: they have been consistent in food quality and service. Their beef pad Thai is never dry, it’s always flavorful through each bite of noodles and sliced beef, and is greatly paired with their spring rolls dipped with plum sauce. This is a nice cozy restaurant in the middle of Greenwich Village and is also popular during lunch time too
Delicious Thai food, reasonable prices, large portions, and friendly staff. This is my second time here. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. Highly recommend the spicy drunken noodles and papaya salad. You can choose the meat of almost every noodle, rice, and curry, so this is a great place for vegetarians if you want them meatless. The service was quick and the waiters checked on us often. We went during lunch time so it wasn't crowded, which I preferred since the restaurant is a little small.
Very decent Thai food for even better prices. The flavors are fairly authentic and not very different compared to actual Thai food. My main complaint is the lack of heat, there was nothing at all not even a bit of pepper hint. When I come back, I will definitely ask if they are able to provide Thai spicy.
Very nice Thai place. Love the atmosphere very different than other Thai restaurants and very relaxing. Friendly staff and service. We ordered Short Rib Noodle Soup, Pumpkin Curry Salmon, Chicken Satay, Basil udon mix seafood, Tamarind Sesame Duck and Papaya Salad Crispy Fish . All of the dishes had delicious and flavorful. Reasonably priced as well 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ we will come back for sure !!!!! Tue Thai. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Apologies for the delay in my NYC trip reviews. I visited Tue Thai in April and it was an incredible experience. The restaurant had a warm ambiance with twinkling lights and fake ceiling plants that added life to the place. We started with Chive Cakes for the table, which were delicious and we ended up ordering more. For my main course, I had a noodle soup with chicken. I also enjoyed a cocktail in a heart-shaped glass, although I can't recall its name. The food arrived quickly and the portions were generous and satisfying. The overall dining experience was pleasant, with decent food and drinks. The staff was exceptionally nice, which is always a plus for me. If you're in the neighborhood, I highly recommend checking out Tue Thai.
Cute spot, service is average speed but the staff is nice. Only one bathroom makes sense but a bit annoying if busy due to the line that tends to form. The food itself is good with large portions for the price. I like that they have like little specials and will give to recommendations based on if you like spice or not. Also the bamboo shoots in the curries are actually good which is a huge bonus.
We had a good dinner for an affordable price. I ate a lot for the lunch, so I was glad to be able to order an healthy plate at their place. The food was good but not amazing for me. But my mate ordered a papaye salad which was similar as the one we had in Thailand. It was very tasty. The service was efficient and friendly. Definitely a nice place to go!
Cute cozy spot for thai food. The flavors were good, decent prices, and like the mock duck as a protein option. Large menu. Thai tea is good and large.
My friends and I met here right before the holidays to catch up with one another because our one friend lives around the corner and could meet during lunch. The restaurant itself isn't anything fancy, but I like the tree and foliage decor they did. The service was good and our server was able to answer questions about the dishes and what we could order without fish sauce since two of us were vegetarian. We all did the lunch special. My friends liked their soup and I did the salad which was your basic salad with peanut sauce. The lunch special is a great deal - soup or salad, app, and an entree. I also ordered a Thai iced tea, it was alright. I ended up getting the green curry, but it was a bit flat on flavor on very one-note. My friend enjoyed his noodle dish and my other friend ordered a chicken dish he seemed to enjoy as well. I wouldn't seek this place out on my own, but if I lived in the area I might try ordering from there again.
Very cute cafe like seating with cute bar and skylight. Food is not too salty and veg and noodles are fresh. Lunch special is a great deal. Great staple if you’re in the area, though not a destination.
NYU/West Village’s best lunch revealed: $12 for appetizer + entree!!! Food was good (not outstanding) but amazing portion for the price 🙌🏼 I ordered: Panang curry with Thai dumplings 1. Panang curry Good level of spice with an aromatic coconut sweetness to the curry sauce. Chicken was tender and had lots of veggies. 2. Thai Dumpling Love the sweet and sour dipping sauce😋 Filling was good mixture of chicken and shrimp in a shumai wrapping The place did smell like the bathroom strangely when I was there though 😭Decorations are cute but might not recommend for a date.
Nice open kitchen restaurant here with great sidewalk seating. I ordered fried roti with curry sauce. Delicious! I was piqued😏 by the mixed seafood 🐧🐙🐠clay pot 🍲paella so i ordered that.😿 It was not a paella. It was a fried rice and a little dry at that. 😕 The mojito was excellent though!
Love the fish. Pineapple cocktail with mints are refreshing and yummy. Duck dish is same price as the fish but so little meat compared to fish. More clarification needed. No happy hour on holidays like Halloween though menu says it’s available everyday before 7pm. Also they added 18% tip but didn’t inform that it was already included. Almost double tipped. Will come back but hope it’s improved ever better
The food was good, but we waited for quite a long time to get it. Also, not everyone at the table got food at the same time. The other part of the table basically finished their meal by the time I got served. And they forgot about the drink order and we had to remind them of it. And the place was half empty when that happened, so they were not "too busy" and overwhelmed by orders. Anyway, the place is nice and cozy and the tasted great.
6/2025: back for a quick dinner. We had the drunken noodles with chicken, & pad se ew with chicken, still pretty darn good. The one thing that I noticed: the ladies working the dining room, who are constantly cleaning and setting back up are wearing gloves but don't ever change them between touching the dirty stuff and then touching the clean stuff. Which is not the correct protocol. 2018: Had a quick dinner here, happy hour too. Got the $4 wine, nice. Drunken noodles were very good. GF had chicken eggplant basil, she really liked it. Need to come back happy hour here 11:30a- 7p! Sweet ;) Back on 6/23/17. I had the Pad See Ew- was good. GF had the same dish as above, a little light on the eggplant. Our wine pours were a little less compared to others :(
The food was good not exceptional Thai food but good. The negative part of this experience was mostly the service. It was a Friday night but comparably not as busy as other places meaning they had a couple of empty tables. We had to wait for a couple of minutes before we were seated and the waitress sat us next to the bathroom, we’re a South Asian couple(so if yk yk). There was plenty of empty table and yet they chose to sit us right next to the bathroom I hate to say it but seemed a little racist. There was another POC couple right next to the table and it sort of confirmed my suspicions. We requested to change our table and we chose the table we wanted. Going on, we had to wait forever for our waitress as if she was avoiding our table and rushed the menus out despite my husband still ordering, he had to request to see the menu again. The food was good but the service was awful and I would not come back again for that reason.
Just so people know, the lunch is only M-F, but the online menu and reviews don't mention that. The happy hour is still well known, and one of the best in the city. But check the details on that, too, as they're not online anymore. Food, warm ambiance, pretty good service are consistent.
Upside-the dumplings, spring rolls, and mimosas were great. Downside-the entire place was freezing and felt like there were multiple air drafts, the butterfly shrimp were way over cooked, and the pad Thai had hair in it. I think they’re good overall but need to be more careful in the kitchen.
Despite the disdain on the face of the waitress when I walked in, I decided to sit down for a quick dinner before a show, by myself. In NY people are bored and unhappy at work, so I didn’t think about it too much. I ended up sending back some wings because they were so salty I couldn’t bear to swallow them down. I took a bite and simply couldn’t continue. I’m not very sensitive to salty foods, but this was extraordinary. When I told the waitress about this, she explained that the kitchen “didn’t add any salt to the wings” and had gotten them “from the truck.” I wasn’t sure why that was relevant to my concern. She offered to take them off of the check because she thought the other appetizers would be “too salty for me” without bringing me a menu. To me, that’s not review worthy. What is, was the shockingly rude reaction from the other, older, waitress. She actually scowled at me and refused to come over when I asked a question. When I made my request, she eventually came over without a word. Just a very tense anger. Finally I asked for a plastic bag and although she agreed to get me one, it never came. There was an absolutely lovely young lady in sweats that was polite and hardworking who got them for me. Although there were more workers in the restaurant than customers at the time, no one said anything to me on my way out. Imagine being punished with rudeness by a staff, for sending back wings too salty to bear. The meal was edible. I did leave a tip, because I’m sure with those miserable attitudes, they really needed one.
Rude waiters, terrible food, messed up our takeout order - the beef smelled awful and simply not worth the price
Ordered drunken noodles with tofu and they came out cold with the noodles congealed. Didn’t taste at all like drunken noodles, just rice noodles with oil and red pepper flakes. The tofu was raw, not fried or warm. The dish looked nothing like the photos shown on here—I honestly think they tried to repurpose a dish that got sent back or was never picked up for takeout. My friends food (all rice dishes) were delicious. I’m just disappointed.
We were really looking forward to our meal, but a 🪳 🪳 🪳 cockroach 🪳 🪳 🪳 ran across our table while we were eating. What made it worse was the staff’s reaction. No apology, no offer to move us, and no attempt to address it. It felt like they’d seen it before and just didn’t care. Really disappointing, especially for a place that otherwise had good reviews.
Not accepting walk-ins 35 minutes before closing isn’t acceptable. I almost never leave poor reviews but this isn’t right. Wasted time walking and traveling…
My family was very excited about this place and when we finally got there we ordered a few dishes and first of all my soup wasn’t the right temperature.. I have to ask them to heat it up. When my husband was tasting his meal, Pad Woon Sen, we heard a sound from his mouth that spooked us .. we found that there was a rock in it. A real freaking rock! Very upsetting, we did get that dish and drinks comped and they reported the incident to management so overall they handled the situation well, but still shocking, could have easily broken a tooth. Other than that the food taste was delicious, my daughter really enjoyed the Spicy Drunken Noodles with chicken. And the decor had nice vibe. But expect more from a west village restaurant. A freaking rock.
