Make sure you book reservation otherwise you will sit at the bar. Wasn’t a problem for us. It can be a bit breezy by the bar but not a problem for us. Had the caprese salad, standard nothing too crazy. The neopolitan marg pizza was delicious! Truly solid pizza. The penne vodka is top tier, seriously hard to find better penne vodka even in the states. Trust me I was blown away, the flavor profile on the penne vodka is perfect and it’s creamy, not a thin sauce so you can really enjoy. The focaccia is not like a traditional bread but more so a pizza style, still fun and yummy but not the traditional style. I didn’t mind but some may. If you’re vegetarian the rigatoni/penne vodka will not disappoint. The breadcrumbs on top were unique and nice touch! NJ/NY approved! 👌🏽👍🏽
Definitely one of the best if not the best Italian restaurants in Aruba. Clean, organized restaurant. Kitchens are also very clean… essential for a good restaurant. Lovely staff Carolina was such a great waitress. I enjoyed a good lasagna and a delicious Napoli pizza with a super tasty garlic sauce they serve with pizzas. Enjoy the pictures and definitely stop by for a dinner for some good pasta/pizza. Ps it won’t make you feel like crap after eating like most pasta places do. I ate a bunch and still felt good full but good lol .
This was maybe some of the best Italian food I've EVER had. We visited here twice during our week-long stay. I am insanely picky to the point where people think I am never happy with my food. For reference, I live in NYC, so I'm in close proximity to excellent restaurants. The ambiance is really nice. It has partial outside seating, but covered. We ordered a Margarita pizza with a garlic sauce. Our server, Alessandro, told us it was for the crust, and it was incredible. Every pizza should have a sauce like that. However, the crust alone was good enough to be eaten by it itself. Sometimes I'm a person who throws crust away if I find it underwhelming, but I happily ate the whole thing. I am a huge gnocchi person, and Lucca's had THREE gnocchi dishes, so I was very happy. I also find that gnocchi is easy to screw up if it's over-kneed. This was perfect. And the cheese and pesto were perfect. My husband loves lasagna and got it both nights. The service was very good. We had Alessandro both nights. The second time he seemed really busy; they were understaffed, but he was very personable and attentive. I wish this place were closer to where I live!
The consensus among my 9 Italian and critical family members was that this pizza was amazing. We loved our meals and highly recommend ordering pizza, the dipping sauce for the crust was amazing!!!
Went for the pizza. Good size Personal pie. Being from North New Jersey, I have had some amazing pizza over the years. This ranks as one of the all time best I have had. If you want pizza in Aruba, go nowhere else.
We have walked past here many times but finally thought to stop in. Lasagna, pizza and Tiramisu were top notch and the employees are all friendly and competent. See you again.
While staying at the Hilton Aruba, we were told that this was the place for pizza/italian food by folks in the know (from NYC). Being a self proclaimed foodie family, we took the advice and weren’t let down. In fact, this place was the best pizza and gnocchi I’ve ever had (espresso martini game was amazing). We’re a party of 6, with 4 kids under 10 and I can say Lucca Trattoria was over the top with quality, atmosphere, and service. The only suggestion I’d would say would be to not follow the walking directions from google maps, which takes you through the back parking lot. I think one of previous reviews mentioned they didn’t know if it was a club, restaurant, lounge etc but I would think that’s if you came through back of the building.
The food is delicious! We had the lasagna and it was fantastic! Rich, juicy, crispy, DELICIOUS! Julian took care of us and he was wonderful, very sweet, attentive and polite!
Super friendly staff and the food is SO good! Better than my expectations and my expectations were high! I was literally scraping the plate the get every last bit. Amazing experience
Went to dinner at Lucca and ordered a pizza with bacon and sweet corn as an appetizer and the carbonara for dinner. Both were great The carbonara was the best I’ve ever had. The service was exceptional. The food was so good we actually went back the next night and ate two pizzas which were great again then had the bolognese which was awesome. This place in Aruba is a must visit for dinner. You won’t be sorry
I had a great experience with this restaurant! Of course, there is some room for improvement in terms of service (some mistakes in food ordering). However, all this is minor when compared to the food. I really loved tomato soup (don't expect big portion), and Ossobuco. My wife and kids loved oven baked pizza! Recommended.
Impeccable service! Delicious food had to come back twice. We ate the pizza too fast to take a photo but it was cooked to perfection. So good we ended up coming twice. Gorgeous atmosphere. It’s off the busier street but so worth the visit. Our FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN ARUBA!
After nearly 3 weeks travelling around 5 Caribbean Island nations and Miami this was the best meal we've had so far. The pasta was cooked perfectly with great tasting sauce. Also, the chicken parmigiana was optimal. Compliments to the chef and all in the kitchen. Service was fine as well. It may not be cheap, but this is Aruba after all, do yourself a favour and come here to eat. Make sure you reserve in advance.
There were many items on the menu, but I chose the pizza. I found that it was very tasty and fresh. The tomato sauce was good and the dough was not too far but it had a thin crust. Parking was limited, but there’s a lot in the back.
Margarita Pizza was 7/10, salmon was 9/10. Staff was great, environment was great.
One of the best if not the best Italian meals I have ever had!! Lasagna was fantastic as was the pizza! If dining in Aruba feel 100% confident to go here! Ambiance was great. Had outdoor and inside a/c seating.
This restaurant is technically an outdoor space under cover of a large commercial building roof. It is part of a three restaurant owner within the structure and the breeze of Aruba kept it pleasant with temperature. The food was very good , fresh and had many of the traditional Italian offerings. We will be back.
This is now our favorite Italian restaurant in Palm Beach, Aruba. They have a nice menu including 2 Italian beers. I ordered pasta bolognese. The sauce was tasty and the pasta was served slightly al dente, which was terrific. My wife ordered lasagna. She said the taste was good but the pasta was too soft for her liking. We'll go back when we return to Aruba.
Lucca is truly amazing. The team treats you like family. The place is spotless and inviting. I had a tastebud orgasm over and over again. I highly recommend this place for anyone who enjoys authentic Italian food. You will not be disappointed. And, the vibe is awesome. It’s one of my new favorite places to visit in Aruba. Treat yourself and your family to a wonderful experience. God Bless America! God Bless Blue & Gold! Remember Everyone Deployed Everyday!
My husband and I really enjoyed our meal here! Such a cute little spot with a great lush green set up with warm lighting. We split a pasta and pizza and ate EVERYTHING! We are always looking for an authentic Italian cuisine that uses ingredients from Italy and this place exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re visiting Aruba and are near Palm Beach. 😊
We visited Lucca Trattoria and were immediately impressed by its beautiful, modern design. The tables were stylish, and the chairs were comfortable, with the option of sitting outside or in a fan/AC area—an absolute plus given how hot Aruba can be, even in the evenings. For our first visit, we ordered the Melanzane Parmigiana as an appetizer, which honestly didn’t quite hit the mark. However, when the main courses arrived, we were absolutely blown away by the incredible flavors. The homemade Rustic Pesto Gnocchi with shaved almonds was fantastic—easily the best gnocchi I’ve ever tasted. The Imperiale Deluxe pizza, with burrata, truffle oil, and prosciutto, was beyond imagination. The way they combine flavors you wouldn’t expect to work together is pure magic. We loved the food so much that we returned for another meal, and our wonderful server recommended the Mezzaluna Bosco pasta filled with goat cheese—it was absolutely amazing. We also tried the Nettuno pizza, topped with shrimp, leek, and mascarpone, and it was equally fantastic. The handmade pasta at Lucca Trattoria is hands down the best I’ve ever had.l Kudos to the talented chefs! I only wish we had this restaurant in New York so I could try a different pizza or pasta dish every visit. I highly recommend this amazing Italian restaurant for anyone who appreciates beautiful, flavorful food.
Dined here twice. Both good experiences. Classic Neapolitan style pizza cooked in a beautiful oven. Ingredients fresh. Fresh pasta and tomato soup also very good. Service was pleasant and efficient. Good location just a short walk from main Palm Beach drag. Recommend making reservations as it fills up quickly.
This was one of the best meals I've ever had. I had the Paccheri alla Bolognesa and my wife had the Linguini Vongole. She very much liked the linguini very much, and I absolutely loved the paccheri. I had the opportunity to visit Italy and had bolognese in Bologna. This meal was right up there with that. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce was incredibly light, the meat was slightly sweet but not overly so, and paired perfectly with some chianti. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but is absolutely worth it. If we get the chance to visit Aruba again, we will absolutely come back to Lucca for dinner.
Holy Jesus!!!! This place is phenomenal and outstanding in every possible way. The decor is simple but gives the place an upscale look. The pizzas were unparalleled in taste, freshness, and presentation. Honestly, this place exceeded expectations to the extent that I find myself holding myself back from returning to order more food. Our server Juan was phenomenal and attentive. If you are looking for the best pizza on the island, pay this place a visit and you will not regret it.
Luca: Still a Culinary Gem in Aruba I recently revisited Luca in Aruba after a three-year absence, and I'm happy to report that it still lives up to its reputation as the best Italian restaurant on the island. The food was just as delicious as I remembered, with perfectly cooked pasta, flavorful sauces, and fresh, high-quality ingredients. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was impeccable. If you're looking for an unforgettable Italian dining experience in Aruba, Luca is a must-visit.
This restaurant is a beautiful all outdoor restaurant. We went with our family of 12 people and absolutely loved everything on the menu. The octopus carpaccio had beautiful presentation and was delicious. The tiramisu was delicious. Wonderful restaurant. We will definitely return on our next trip to Aruba!
Excellent food without needing a fine dining experience. Friendly service, food came out quickly, pizzas tasted amazing and we even had leftovers. Would definitely return again!
This elegant Italian restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience with its delicious menu. The ambience is soothing, especially at lunchtime when the prices are as attractive as a dollar-to-florin conversion. Outside of these hours, however, the prices can be a bit on the expensive side. The menu features a broad selection of pastas and pizzas, and you’ll appreciate the consideration given to allergy needs. I recommend trying the Rigatoni alla norma—with its savory blend of eggplant and goat cheese—as well as the tasty Pizza Italiosa. Both are not presented in the video with this review (good argument to visit this restaurant more than once;)). Overall, this restaurant is a great choice for a quality lunch.
Place looks amazing and the food was too. We had the American pizza and carbonara. Will come again for sure!
What a great vibe. I ordered the pineapple bacon pizza and it was inspired. Such thin slices that were grilled to perfection, placed on top of a super thin crust with crispy bacon-- amazing. My mum got the mushroom ravioli with the cream sauce, it was very decadent. Welcoming service, will definitely be going back
Great little place! My wife and I walked in and ordered a couple of wood fired pizzas to take on the beach. The staff was super friendly including the manager who helped take our order and then graciously invited us to wait at the bar. The pizzas came out quick and were delicious! The bartender Alejandro was even friendlier and chatted us up after bringing over some waters. No pressure to buy a drink or anything. He was so great we decided to come back later that night for dessert and a night cap. We split some Nutella cannoli’s and he makes the best espresso martinis on the island! Everything was fantastic!
Excellent dinner. Food, service and drinks were awesome! We had two small children with us and the staff was very accommodating. Highly recommend!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Lucca Trattoria. The atmosphere is warm, inviting and peaceful. Our waiter, Joel was wonderful. We ate a delicious gourmet pizza with salad and fabulous wine. Joel was attentive to our every need. We highly recommend Lucca Trattoria!
Beautiful outdoor seating. Really enjoyed the grouper in butter and wine. Mushroom risotto and lamb. People say the pizza is good but we've never tried it. We dont go here for pizza!
Lovely open air atmosphere. Our meals and drinks were delicious! We had the Pasta Alla Norma and Chicken Parm. Our server, Carolina, was excellent. She was informative, friendly, and made for an overall great experience. We enjoyed chatting with her through out our meal. Thank you!
The food was fabulous and the service outstanding. Outdoor dining area was wonderful and Gabriele our waiter, made some terrific recommendations. The lasagna was amazing and the Caesar salad had plenty of chicken. We will definitely come back again!
From start to finish, the fresh pasta, seafood and bolognese sauce were superb. The cocktails were wonderful as was our server, Samir! We highly recommend!!
The eggplant and vegetarian pasta was very delicious. However, the pizza was okay and needed sweet pasta sauce. Other than that, it was a good dining experience.
We had mixed feelings about our meal at Lucca. The octopus was disappointing—very thin and not at all what I’m used to in terms of texture or preparation. It lacked the tenderness and depth of flavor I expected. The catch of the day was also underwhelming; the texture wasn’t great and overall it felt nothing special. That said, the pizza was delicious, and the pasta—especially the seafood pasta—was very good and definitely the highlight of the meal. One downside was the pricing of drinks. The virgin mojito was $17, which felt excessively expensive considering it contained no alcohol. Overall, Lucca does well with pizza and pasta, but some of the seafood dishes and drink pricing did not meet expectations.
I love traveling and trying new restaurants and this restaurant was on my list to try out while in Aruba. Lucca Trattoria is beautiful with a upscale vibe throughout the restaurant. The bartenders were amazing and were available to make any drink. I have now tried several dishes from the menu and I haven’t been disappointed yet on anything I’ve ordered with a delicious taste. My biggest downfall from the menu is the pizza and why ? Because if you order a pizza and decide to you don’t want ham on it or want to substitute it for pepperoni it’s a hefty up charge this makes ordering pizza for me disappointing and then makes it’s an over priced pizza for me. Also adding extra toppings is pretty expensive too. Don’t get me wrong the pizza is amazing and I love it with amazing flavors. I also noticed while sitting that several families came to the front entrance but weren’t greeted promptly by the hostess or by the manager and waited a long enough time in my opinion to finally get service. But my overall thought of this restaurant the atmosphere was beautiful, bartender and waiter were great and the food was delicious and that alone will definitely bring me back to this restaurant again.
This place is a great spot and definitely fills up at regular dinner hours. I loved the food but I took a star off because the lobster on our pasta came out raw and I can’t understand how you would think that’s okay to plate. They took it back to the kitchen and fully cooked it but I don’t like we had to point it out to them. The pizza and apps were really good. Don’t get the panna cotta, it has the right flavor but not texture. The tiramisu is good for being on a Caribbean island though.
We have eaten here the last two times we were in Aruba. Make sure to ask to sit outside when you make your reservation if you want a more casual dining experience. The service was slightly lacking, but the food makes up for it. Try the pizza, pasta dishes, and Osso Buco was delicious.
Overall, a solid option but nothing particularly memorable. We shared the Caesar salad, lasagna bolognese, alla norma, and a Neapolitan/Margherita pizza. Everything was okay, but each dish felt like it was missing something special. The Caesar salad was the weakest for us light on dressing and lettuce, and the chicken was a bit rubbery. The alla norma could have used more eggplant and bolder flavour, and the lasagna bolognese had too many breadcrumbs and not enough depth. The pizza was fine, but again, didn't really stand out. Not bad overall, just room for improvement. A shoutout to the service team who were friendly, professional, and really wonderful the entire night!
We tried this place recently and thought the food was just okay overall. We ordered the chicken parm with risotto and the carbonara Alfredo—both were pretty average, especially considering the higher price point. That said, the dessert pizza was incredible—definitely a 10/10 and something I’d highly recommend. What really made the experience great was our server, Gaudys. She was absolutely fantastic—attentive, friendly, and super helpful. She really elevated the whole meal. If you go, definitely save room for dessert and hope you get Gaudys as your server!
My one and only complaint and I am upset I didn’t say anything because I didn’t enjoy my dish at all was the linguine vongole aka pasta with clams. It was full of sand that coated my whole mouth and crunched in my teeth. There is nothing worst then having shellfish pasta with sand. Very disappointing. However everything else was decent. My boyfriend really loved his lasagna. We thought the grilled bread with pesto butter was delicious and the garden salad which we were told had onion and tomatoes . However the tomato was sliced as thin as paper. Also disappointed but it was good. We went back a few days after to try the pizza . I would give it a 5/10 . Tasted like the pizza you get in the freezer section at the grocery store and something about the cheese was off. It was far from an authentic Italian pizza . They also offer you bread as if it is complimentary but then charge you we realized this the second time we ate there . I didn’t like that as bread in most restaurants in Canada is free so it was very misleading . Not sure I would be coming back here .
We were not that impressed. The setting is nice and the food was fine. Overpriced for what you get. I ordered the fettuccine with shrimp and lobster. The shrimp were small and the lobster was just small pieces of claw meat. For $45 I expected much better. My husband got the spicy vodka pasta which was good but had no protein and no option to add. Everything felt 20-30% overpriced. I was expecting something better give the ratings but I guess this is what you get in the hotel zone.
Dont get sat by one of the big fans that blows on you constantly cooling your food quickly. Service was slow and inattentive. Food was meh, the carbonara was very bland and the topping was stale and chewy. The chicken parm was good, the pasta side with the Napoli sauce was the best thing we had.
Over all, it was ok. Nothing special beside the skirt (stake). We ordered a lot of items off the menu. Unfortunately, the pasta didn’t feel much home made and the cace e pepe was completely wrong and off track from the original. The Milanese was nice and simple. And food was good in general but nothing over the top. On top of that, we were really looking forward for the tiramisu which they didn’t have so we ended up going elsewhere for desserts. Staff was really nice and friendly. Their restaurant Brutto (next door is much better and will definitely go there again!).
In short, food was good and place was beautiful, but as many others wrote, service was terrible - was moved to different table mid-meal. I arrived early, at around 5PM for dinner. There was no one else being served outside but quite a few staff members were busily setting up tables. However, none of the hostesses greeted me and I had to go up to a staff member to be seated. They gave me table and asked me what I wanted to drink water-wise, not mentioning the free tap water (or maybe I didn’t hear it in the options). Several staff members passed me before one approached me asking whether I had put my order in already. The wait wasn’t long, but given there was no one else there and staff was constantly walking past, it was a bit odd to have to wait at all. Mocktail came quickly and was good and caprese pizza also came quickly and was very good. After I had eaten the first slice of pizza and as I was swatting away a mosquito, one of the waiters came up to me and asked whether I would mind moving to another table. Mind you, the restaurant is still empty! I was a bit perplexed because I was in the middle of eating and there was no one else there, but agreed (because they must’ve had their reason?!). He then talked to the other staff members and moved me to a table that was still set, so that while he and I were carrying my things over, we also had to remove the cutlery and table mats on the new table… Only one family came as I was wrapping up eating and to this point I still don’t understand why I was asked to move - especially while eating. (As I am writing this I wonder whether they moved me because I was swatting at the mosquito, but then the question of me moving should have been worded VERY differently, not like a issue that needs to be addressed on their side, because I would have preferred to stay at my place and finish the pizza there). Overall bad experience and won’t come again.
This was on a long run the worst restaurant in Aruba we have visited. The interior is dark and uninviting. It feels like a night club more than like a restaurant. You can hardly see your food on the plate. There might be a reason for it. I have ordered fettuccine with lobster and shrimp. I have never experienced any lobster or shrimp smell so badly. I had to return it. There were at least 15 staff people and restaurant was completely empty when we came and still our water glasses were non stop empty as nobody bothered to check or leave a bottle of water on the table. My husband had chicken parmesan and spent the next day in the bathroom. Please, do yourself a favor, walk few steps further and go eat to any place out there and you will be better off.
