Fabulous experience, our waitress Dierdre couldn't have been any better! The food is always phenomenal. We had an bad experience (reservation issue) the summer of 2023 that left us very angry with PPB and how management handled it. We vowed we wouldn't come back. But very friends visited last weekend and I decided to them a second chance. We were all very happy with our food choices & our waitress was excellent! Our favorite is the grilled octopus, it is by far the best octopus we have ever had and we try it at other restaurants for comparison. My husband had the fluke and said it phenomenal. All the entrees were fabulous! The blueberry dessert was very good too.

If you’re looking for a spot where the focus is on quality over speed, this is the place. Don’t come here expecting a quick in-and-out meal—come ready to relax and enjoy the experience. The service is attentive and genuinely welcoming, never rushed, which matches the cozy, charming atmosphere perfectly. Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared and worth the wait, making it clear that care goes into both the food and the overall experience.

Fantastic service, excellent menu with a ton of variety. The spicy lentil ball appetizer was a standout. Cocktails were above average, too. The Sunset Martini and the South of the Border were excellent. Edit: back again 3 to 4 years later, unknowingly ordered same cocktail, same lentil ball app and same strawberry shortcake dessert!

This is a nice small restaurant in North Kingstown I would definitely recommend having reservations. Everyone here was really friendly and customer service was great including the bussers! The bread and butter they provided were good and the bread was nice and warm! We had their calamari which was really good and crispy with a slight kick to it. I really enjoyed the cherry pepper sauce and pickled onions with it! My husband and I got their handmade pastas. The fettuccine was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked! I got the mafaldine which was much lighter and I really enjoyed their handmade noodles but probably could have used more cheese and/or more sauce. Overall, we were very happy with their homemade pastas and the perfect chewiness to them. My husband loved their take on a dirty martini called some like it hot and enjoyed the blue cheese stuffed olives. It was a delicious drink! I had the harbor sunset drink which was okay and light. My only complaint is the restaurant gets very loud inside so you feel like you're yelling to each other. Also, when we arrived and checked in the hostess mentioned she was waiting for the people to finish up (we were also 20 min late) and it seemed like other people were waiting for their table too but soon got seated on a Friday night. As we shifted towards the bar area to order a drink, the hostess mentioned to us that our table was free but she was waiting for the other table nearby to leave so we could have a little more space. The tables weren't super close together so we said it's okay we can sit down. While sitting there, it might been another 30-40 min until the other party left, so I'm glad we opted to sit down at our table because the closeness was really no big deal. I came here back when this place opened and haven't been back in a very long time. I'm not sure why it's taking so long to return but I will certainly be visiting again more often this year even if it's ordering take out. Overall, the food is absolutely delicious and service is great! We will be coming back more often! Thanks again for a great experience!

We at Newport on vacation and found this place that was away from the tourist areas. The food was amazing, probably the best meal I ever ate. Service was fast and friendly.

Excellent service and food. Spinach chicken ravioli on special was phenomenal. My friend said his chicken parm was one of the best he's ever had. Nice ambiance. Creme Brule was not perfect, but very good. Escargot was prepared perfect, delicious buttery sauce. Love that they had espresso, which was also very good.

Cannot go wrong with anything on the menu! This is a super cute and charming cottagecore restaurant with its own herb garden and outdoor patio very randomly squished between a gas station and a kiss and ride. Both an excellent date night spot and also a quick bite at the outdoor bar (if you get there early enough) before heading to the nearby airport. The escargot is an absolute must. So is the octopus. Actually in true Rhode Island fashion you can’t go wrong with any of the seafood options. Or anything on the menu really.

Absolutely amazing in every way. We sat on the patio and had the best food I have had in Rhode Island. From the apps the the perfect Spicy Mussles to desert. The service was top notch with never empty drinks with smiles. Perfect night, thank you for such a great experience.

Absolute most try! This is a wonderful (somewhat) hidden gem. Visited while staying in Narragansett and I’m very glad I was able to find it while randomly looking for something other than fried clams. Had a reservation for 8:45 but was told it would be a 30 min wait - did not bother me because the young lady at the host table was very honest, open and nice about it. Understandable given the staffing issues everyone seems to be dealing with. The outside seating is great and the ambience is wonderful! The service was impeccable and everyone on staff was a pleasure Including our wonderful server. For the food: impeccable I would very highly recommend the octopus- it was so tender and perfectly cooked. The eggplant rollatini was also delicious and unexpectedly wonderful. They were out of the calamari but I would imagine that would be just as good. The clam chowder was just perfect In every way possible. Fresh and bright with the dill, loaded with clams. As for entrees, the bistro steak was perfectly cooked and wonderfully seasoned. The fried were probably one of the best I have ever had - perfect. The homemade spaghetti and clams was on a different level - so fresh and delicately made. Also would recommend the grilled swordfish which was perfectly prepared. Couldn’t even fit room for dessert but everything I saw pass us looked absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to come back and visit again!

We really enjoyed our dinner at Plum Pt. Bistro. The patio seating was comfortable and relaxing. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and tasty. The mussels were excellent and the pasta with cauliflower and olives was super tasty. We also enjoyed a cocktail and found the wine list to be a nice surprise. They were able to accommodate a gluten and dairy allergy without any issues. Highly recommended!

Love Plum Point Bistro! Everything on the menu is fantastic and the ambiance of the restaurant is great. Love the traditional yet eclectic vibe of the restaurant. The service is always great and the drinks are delicious. If you’re wondering what to wear, this is a place where you can definitely be ok wearing a nice top and jeans or dressing up for a nice occasion. Highly recommend making a reservation.

We made last minute reservations to try a new (for us) restaurant, and we were blown away by Plum Pt. Bistro! The scallops with apricot risotto were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. The shrimp & scallop scampi was simply out of this world. This "new" restaurant is now a favorite!

Always consistent excellence, great food, drink & staff. Updated with pictures from last week. Mussels app is always great and we split the chicken parm, which was excellent

The mussels were so delicious!!!! The absolute best mussels I’ve had in RI! They were in a spicy curry sauce/broth, ooh la la… I look forward to going back for more! For an entree I tried the chicken parm and it was huge and scrumptious! I do have plenty for tomorrow’s lunch! I was not expecting the chicken and the sauce to be so tasty! The service was excellent and the restaurant’s renovations look great! I’ve been to this restaurant a few times and I’m always pleased, tonight, however I was blown away by the mussels- Wow!

We were a party of 3 adults and a 15mo old. The wait to be seated was long, but only because they were short staffed in the kitchen. The wait was well worth it, and the food excellent. The octopus starter was stellar, and the pastas cooked to perfection. Even the little one's spaghetti with butter was outstanding. We look forward to our next visit!

Had a great meal at Plum Point Bistro. Our waitress, Lisa, was fantastic. We enjoyed her app recommendations of the grilled octopus and butterhead wedge salad. We both enjoyed our main courses and the wine list didn’t disappoint.

Impeccable service from our server, Madison, and food runners last Tuesday, 8/26. Hostess was a little flighty, but Madison with her amazing timing, professionalism, memory and outstanding recommendations made up for any of the staff's shortcomings. We had a party of 10 people which can be difficult to manage during the peak time of the biz. Madison didn't miss a beat. PP Bistro's culinary artistry was Impeccable as well. We all ordered several apps, drinks, then the entrée for each if us. Followed by a decadent desert. I had SAUTÉED LOCAL FLUKE with artichoke, shiitake mushrooms, chablis, citrus wild rice and fresh green beans. Delicious! I've never had Fluke fish before and I'll definitely be back for this dish again. And will request Madison.

Tried Plum Pt Bistro for the first time last night after a recommendation from a friend. I can't wait to go back again! We sat at the bar and the service was very good. The bartender was attentive, constantly refilling water and checking in. Drinks were tasty, appetizers were delicious (calamari and escargot) and our meals were equally as amazing. I'm a sucker for homemade pasta, and it did not disappoint. Ended the meal with the tiramisu, and even that was tasty. All and all, 10/10. Somehow I managed not to take any photos, will do on my next visit.

What a wonderful surprise. Plum Point was open on Monday I love this restaurant and wish their hours coordinated with mine. I had the Chicken parm with a side of pasta Agli e olio. It was by far. The BEST pasta agli e olio I’ve ever had. My wife had the Lobster special. A - Z. It was a wonderful experience. As always. We sat at the bar. Our server was Leah. She absolutely made our experience even more extraordinary. Even the other waitstaff who we interacted with we extremely nice. Great job Ralph on delivering wonderful food by a wonderful staff in a beautiful setting. Best restaurant in South County by a mile. Keep up the phenomenal work.

Seems to be a local favorite casual dining spot. Situated in a random area next to nothing but gas station, upon our arrival at the parking lot, run down patio comes into view first. We were tempted to turn around and leave, but glad we stayed. Dining room inside was clean and comfortable. Surprisingly good food with interesting menu items. Standouts were: Plum point chowder $9- refreshing to find this delightful chowder after having clam chowder all summer long Escargot in garlic parsley butter and pistachios $14- could smell fragrant garlic butter from miles away point judith calamari $17 -was so tender and came with pickled red onion. We liked the pickle so much we asked if we could have some more. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner until after we left and saw $1 was added to our bill for that extra pickle without informing us. Wow.. what a petty service to charge for extra condiment.. as another reviewer mentioned they seem to be nickle and diming for petty things without informing diners..

The atmosphere at the Bistro is really nice. We could seated right away but I would highly recommend a reservation. I started with the local organic Field of Greens. It was big. Easy enough for two to three people. My friend got the escargot. I said it was really good. I ordered the eggplant rollatini. That was excellent. The main course my friend ordered Radiatori. It was on point. I ordered the Grilled Twin Pork Chops. They were cooked a little longer than I like but tasty. The spicy strawberry barbecue sauce had some kick to it. I would definitely go back.

Great food and service. Outside, deck seating is preferred despite seasonally low temps because indoors is painfully loud

Overall, an A- rating. I thought the food and beer selection were fantastic, however it was quite loud in the restaurant, and got extremely packed extremely quickly. Overall, great food and would recommend again

Drinks & apps were terrific! The calamari and shrimp burrata were to die for!! The steak I asked for medium well & it came very well done, my jaw hurt from chewing. Cannot go wrong with any drinks here, they're all a hit & made with love. Do expect to wait a bit if it's busy here, they seem to be short staffed & it's hard to their attention. If you like medium well steak get the bistro steak instead of the sirloin, the pepper sauce wasn't it. Friend who got the cod loved it & was phenomenal. Stick to the seafood and pasta, and you'll be good. Overall good food, I see the hype, wouldn't come again.

The Old Fashioned could be better with not so much ice. The Burrata did not have a creamy gooey center.

Went here for dinner with coworkers and left full but frustrated. We had a reservation booked a week in advance, yet they ran over 30 minutes late, leaving us stuck in the narrow entryway while people constantly squeezed by. We didn’t get seated until 7:35 PM. The atmosphere didn’t help either—the restaurant was so loud that I could barely hear the person next to me. As for the food, it was decent. I had the whole fish, which was delicious in a butter sauce, but deep-frying it with the skin on made it look like a giant chicken tender. The skin ended up rubbery in some spots. The dish came with a tasty butter-caper sauce, but there was barely any of it on the cutting board. The sides were well-cooked but underseasoned. The highlight of the night? The drinks. I had an incredible smoked mezcal cocktail—easily the best part of the meal. Unfortunately, for the price and atmosphere, and quality of food I won't be back. However for drinks at the bar with friends I would.

T

We always order to go because the restaurant can be loud and I'm just looking for a little peace on the weekend! My favorite is their calamari, but I can no longer order this item to go. This is the third time they put the sauce in with the calamari and the plastic container melted right into the food. Plastic is so bad for our health, but melting plastic is next level potential cancer. Please train your staff to put the sauces on the side.

B
Bobby Fournier

8:00pm reservation 8:40 seat time Restaurant was so loud I couldn’t even hear the waitress . Ordered the chicken prosciutto dinner. WOW… you want to talk about sodium. Stay away from this dish. When I told the waitress about this, their response was that that’s how it’s supposed to be. And the strangest thing was I had one tiny piece of chicken left everything on the plate and they never comped the meal. That’s how we are doing business these days?

Z
Zachary Pozniak

Best food in the area but expect them to be running 45-60 minutes late with your reservation. Manager would rather yap and drink than address any wrongdoing or god forbid, comp a drink. Just text me if you’re running late!

P
Phillip Teixeira

Had a 6:30pm reservation, wasn't seated until roughly 7:15pm. What was frustrating was seeing larger parties (we were party of 4) arrive well after us, but be seated before us. After waiting 45 minutes for our reservation there was no apology for the wait. After being seated it took 10-15 minutes to get water, and another 10-15 minutes to get our cocktails. Again, we saw tables seated after us (same party size) receive service before us. This increased frustrations. Once we ordered the food everything game out quick, and everything was really tasty! The staff kept saying the kitchen was backed up, and that's what was holding up our table; but they were pumping out takeout orders left and right! Maybe during busy hours it would behoove the kitchen to stop takeout orders and focus on the diners that are there? All in all, I wish we had a better experience because it's unlikely we'll be back.

Food was fantastic. Waitresses was awful paid attention to everything but her customers. Never mentioned specials to our table or the one next to us. Only found out because I overheard the bartender going over them for someone else.

I had not been to Plum Pt in over 12 years, but it was always one of those restaurants that you remember was really good, just never think of going to due to the location. My 2 friends and I had a reservation for 6pm on a Thursday. The food was wonderful and our server was sweet. It was around 7:40 when the hostess came up to our table and very rudely asked us to leave because we had extended our reservation for over a half hour. At no point were we told that reservations were only for an hour. Had we had known this when we booked a few weeks ago, we likely would have gone somewhere else as we all hadn’t seen eachother in a few months and wanted to catch up. My friend was in the middle of her wine, and when telling the hostess she still had her drink to finish, she said that they had already given us enough time and the next party wanted the table. She later went on to say that it should be coming from the waitress and not her. It was honestly quite embarrassing, unprofessional and just left a bad impression. She offered no solution like welcoming us to sit at the bar to finish out our night. We left with my friend glass of wine over half full. I am not sure if this was a mistake in the restaurant over booking, however, it would have been nice to have been told this prior to us being seated, or while we booked on Open Table. As previously noted, it was very embarrassing how of guard we were approached, and made the impression as if the restaurant just wanted our money and then for us to leave.

1. Calamari had freezer burn. Not appropriate for May 26 in Rhode island. 2. 22 dollar fish and chips made from frozen Cod. May even have been from the west coast. 3. Pasta not made with durum wheat. 4. Complained about food and still had to pay for 3 crappie meals.

Plum Point has been one of my favorite spots for years. I’ve always enjoyed the food & atmosphere, and even featured them on my espresso martini page (@beanimartinis) because I’ve genuinely had such great experiences in the past. That’s why this visit was so disappointing. I was dining outside with two of my best friends when we noticed a man at the bar blatantly take a photo of the three of us, zooming in on each of us. We all saw it happen and immediately told our server. A manager came out shortly after, but no real action was taken. We were eventually told they “didn’t know what to do,” and were brought wine and offered dessert instead. We later found out this guest is a regular and has apparently done this before, which made it even more uncomfortable. No one asked him to leave, and we weren’t offered to move tables until I personally went to the host stand and asked. To be clear—our server and the host were kind and empathetic, and I appreciated their response. But overall, the way management handled the situation just didn’t feel like they prioritized our comfort or took the issue seriously. I’m sharing this not to tear down a place I’ve loved and supported, but because I hope future situations like this are met with more care, especially when it comes to respecting and protecting guests.

N
Nathan Pollock

Food was fine. The way management at Plum Point Bistro chose to address, or lack there of, another guest taking an inappropriate photo of the women in our party was absolutely unacceptable and tarnished the chance of first time customers returning. We were seated at an outside table by the corner of the bar and all noticed a man turn and very obviously take a photo of the women at our table, and proceed to zoom in on the photo as if to inspect each one. When we immediately notified our server of what just happened, they were quick to inform us that this was not the first time that ‘Frank’, a regular customer, had taken unsolicited photos of women at the restaurant before. We proceeded, several times, to try to have management address the issue but due to his supposed status as a regular and friend of the owners, they could only ‘talk to him in private later’. It was disgusting that this man and his wife, were able to continue dining undisturbed while our party had our dining experience ruined. The choice of management to offer us complimentary wine and dessert felt as though they were trying to keep us from making a scene instead of addressing the issue in a sincere manner. Use caution dining here especially with women and children, knowing that this will likely happen again with the lack of intervention.

This pains me to write. Owner was there and witnessed it. Plum point was one of our favorite restaurants. Ordered the wings and drinks. Great as usual. Ordered the bistro steak and the cornmeal crusted cod for entrees. Watched the runner bring our food to the table behind us. Thought wow they got the same entrees. We witnessed The people salt there food, didn't see them eat anything (but who doesn't grab a fry when the food gets placed) the runner walked away back to the kitchen where she would grab the food. Then realized she made a mistake. Came back told the couple behind us, grabbed the food, brought it back to the heat lamps, waited a second then brought it to us where i said I don't want that. People have already salted it, breathed on it, and probably touched it but the runner said don't worry they never touched it. Nope didn't want it. She brought it back. Owner was made aware. Didn't seem like it was a big deal to him. I Didn't trust that they would remake our food since they already tried to give us food someone else had touched. Makes me question there morals and cleanliness
