Osaka Northampton

Everything was flavorful and it made my friend’s evening when the Japanese lady said Godzilla is coming just because we just finished watching “Godzilla x Kong”.

Honestly one of the best places i’ve been to for sushi! Everything tastes so fresh, compared to other places where they taste just alright or just not all that great. I highly recommend! I definitely will be coming here again in the near future.

Really goid atmosphere, we had lunch steak and rice some sweet potato rolls and some California rolls, soup...

Great sushi, didn’t try the drinks but they looked good. Near the parking garage and street parking available. We sat outside, good service.

Great place for sushi and hibachi. Very busy place on weekdays and there’s paid parking available at the opposite side of the road (roadside parking also available, if you’re lucky).

Always greeted warmly. Seated quickly at the sushi bar, greeted again by the chefs. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. I have eaten here 50x, sometimes good, usually great 5*.

Excellent sushi at a good price. I came here for lunch and was very pleasantly surprised at by the overall quality. Nice location too!

Late night sushi spot DELIVERED!!! When nothing in Northampton was opened Osaka came to SAVE the day. it is SO good. Just classic yummy sushi spot Such amazing creative rolls and very fair prices. 10/10 recommend

One of the mainstays of Northampton. Never been disappointed in the 20+ years I've been coming here. Quality sushi, run by a wonderful team. New expanded deck is a big plus.

Celebrated a birthday with family. Our experience was great! Our Hibachi chef was very friendly and made great food for us. He was very interactive and funny. We will definitely return soon!

This place was SUCH a gem of a find! The downtown was a double win but the quality of the food, the chef, and the experience for ourselves and our kids really a WIN. We look forward to making this our hibachi spot when we pass through this part of Mass. We wish we lived closer to this location.

I’ve been going to Osaka for years, they have always been so friendly and the cooks are amazing, everytime. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody who’s looking for an amazing hibachi experience. To this day I haven’t found a better hibachi restaurant around this area. Thank you Osaka staff! We love you!

Great restaurant with lots of options. For vegetarians and vegans, they have a good selection of rolls. The hijiki maki and the shitake maki are standouts. Staff are fast and efficient.

I got the Summer in Osaka drink, paired it with the Pink Dragon Roll. We also ordered the chicken Pad Thai that came with a Miso soup. The vibes were so nice outside with ambient lighting. It’s also right across from an ice cream place!

I had to go but had I known their casual not too bad environment I would have dined in. Parking side street can be challenging with coins only but sashimi was surprisingly very fresh. I didn’t have much expectation at first because it was one of the few restaurants not bars open until 1130 pm.

We had a party of 20 people and wait staff was wonderful. Food came timely and was delicious!

The price is normally way more than what you see in the menu, but their service is perfect. Recommend the experience!

Stopped in for lunch and was seated right away. Ordered the Lychee Martini that was very good. For sushi rolls I had the Bad Boy and American Tango rolls and oh my..... what delicious and creative flavor combinations and amazing tasting sauces. Loved my lunch experience. Service was quick. There's metered on street parking, a parking garage or a ticketed parking lot, all across the street. The option for dining outdoors is available. Really enjoyed this spot!

There are lots of different rolls to choose from, definitely recommend fancy rolls, dynamite, and dragon rolls. There are many sits and the night view is great. Perfect for date for friends gathering. It’s about 20 dollars per person to try multiple things.

Sat on the patio overlooking the street. Was very nice and we thought the two rolls we got were amazing. Service was okay, a bit awkward and as others have said unwelcoming, we felt a little rushed even though it wasnt busy or anywhere near closing time (we went late afternoon) and one of our rolls came out much later than the other, but they were still really good.

We had a wonderful time. The food is so good, we will be back.

The food was excellent except mine had a hair in it. They redid my meal and comp'd it which I wasn't expecting. She was very nice about it. We were pleased with our time there and will be returning.

Osaka is great for large and small groups alike. I enjoy their Tomo roll. The service is quick and thorough, and their drinks are delicious.

The service is the star here. You will not wait for service once seated regardless of how full the place is. The atmosphere is not the best. It feels dated and over saturated with a dull, warm ambiance. The food is pretty typical, but the sushi doesn't stand on it own. I'd go to several other places before Osaka if im going out for sushi.

DON'T EAT HERE IF YOU CAN'T EAT GLUTEN Sadly, the food I was served contained gluten despite informing the server of my intolerance/allergy. I found out because I bloated like a balloon with some abdominal pain. Anyways. The food we ordered was decent, at best. Not much flavor and the chicken cooked for my fried rice was pretty dry and flavorless. I think it's worth noting my sushi was pretty good. First time having a Philly roll with raw salmon as, apparently, their smoked salmon has gluten (I'm assuming due to a shared surface?) I also wonder if the food quality tanked due to how busy they were, if the chef was in a hurry to just get the food out ASAP. The food was served quickly, and we were able to get timely seating considering how hectic the place was. Our server was also very considerate and helpful.

The food is fine, nothing to write home about, but not bad either. The service is nice on surface, but they can be slow and can forget details. The most egregious experience was when they entirely forgot my order in a larger party and didn’t apologize at all, just kept saying that it’s coming, but then it didn’t come for several minutes while everyone else was eating their dinner. Bad form.

Can use a new face lift, and it smells moldy lately. The food was horrible. Over cooked,dry and salty service by wait staff is stiff and dry. I have been going there for years and honestly Its boring and corny now. No type of ambiance. NOT worth going there.

Nice place, friendly staff. We didn't have to wait long (for a Habachi table or for drinks/ordering). The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because compared to the habachi place I usually go to the food was not as good. It wasn't bad, just not as good as what I'm use to having.

Very good food. The prices were average. The selection of beers is very weak. And the service. below average.

This was our second time dining with hibachi. This time food was too salty with too much soy sauce. Will be back again to get best food with good cooking on the grill.

I have been here a few times, I have had the hibachi and the sushi. The ambience is wonderful, service was always good, but I just wasn't overly impressed with the food. It was kind of bland every time. For me, it's about the value, if the price was lower I probably would have rated it slightly higher, but you can get better sushi for same or less just up the street.

Regular customer and get the sushi dinners. Today, sushi was delicious BUT smaller size than our last visit. Too bad- really like their sushi but will plan to go find another place as they must feel it’s okay to keep same price and reduce the size.

Our group of 7 had an early 5:30pm reservation on a Friday. They tried seating us at a crammed 5 person table. After moving us to an appropriate sized table the staff rushed us from start to finish. It was very evident they wanted us in and out. Not giving us time to order or asking us for drinks and then just dropped the check. The meal was over $300 so for that money you’d expect some better service. Someone in our group had a shellfish allergy which we told the staff about right away and the severity. They proceeded to try to serve her shellfish and miso soup which they told us after ASKING was not shellfish friendly. The food is mediocre so it does not make up for the bad experience.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this place deserves it. The sushi tasted anything but fresh , we also order a coke which they charge almost four dollars but was just flat and tasted like syrup. On top of that, the service was indifferent, our server just didn’t seem to care much and had little patience. For the prices they charge, I expected at least decent quality and basic courtesy. I won't be coming back.

Had our girls night out Christmas party tonight. There were 5 of us. The young girl had ZERO personality, came across as rude and not very attentive. Our cook was good, but we were in and out in 45 minutes. We all felt like the food was ok, basically we drank salt. We will not go back EVER. We told the staff at the desk, he looked at us like we were from a different planet. We asked for management he had no clue what we were saying. GO TO K’s in WESTFIELD MUCH BETTER!!! Don’t waste time or money here!!

From entering the restaurant to a standing room only waiting area for 30 minutes (with a reservation) and constantly overlooked by the Host who seated everyone behind us, to sitting in a cramped room with gas fired hibachi’s with poorly planed emergency fire exits (people sitting in chairs at hibachi inhibiting easy egres,) to waiting 20 minutes for our hibachi chef to show, to the waiter forgetting one of our drinks after 15 minutes of waiting, to a room temperature appetizer, to no way to get the waiter back over and the list goes on! About the only thing good was the food from the hibachi. It was hot. Never again!
