Côte Brasserie - Norwich

A lovely quiet breakfast to finish off a lovely little break. I ordered the french breakfast (black pudding was amazing). However the stand out of the breakfast oddly was the humble mushroom. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The wife had french toast which was a huge portion. I added a sausage, did not need too!

The food was delicious!! And the staff were super nice. 🙂‍↕️

My partner and I came here on a date, before our movie. We were looking forward to our French meals. We arrived 15 mins early, and when we asked if we could come in before our table was booked, they said yes with warm and welcoming smiles. We sat and ordered our drinks. I went for a small detour, getting lost on the way to the toilet, completely missing the door that said, "wc." Had a little laugh when I got back to my table and told my partner, who also thought it was funny. We ordered our meals, enjoyed our drinks, and chatted. The atmosphere was calming and had a lovely warmth to the restaurant. For starters, I had a French onion soup with bread, which was tasty, and I ate all of it, wanting more and more. I also ate a crab paté with radish and bread, which I also ate all of it. My man had a delicious plate of Calamari with a tangy sauce. I tried a nonalcoholic drink, as I am pregnant, but I was still worried that it had alcohol in it, so I didn't drink it, but it didn't look very good. For my main, I had a seafood in a sauce. I ate all of it. He had some meat with tastey chips. We both had two desserts each. Which we enjoyed. I had the chocolate mouse with honeycomb and vanilla ice cream. And a cake. And my man had truffles and a croissant with cream and sauce. (The pictures are more clear, of what we ordered) I would recommend this French restaurant with all the people, whom loves French food and food in general.

We had dinner with colleagues. We were more than 12 persons and it was simply great from the service and the food quality. All went so smoothly which made us a great experience. The cost is also very well positioned to make the restaurant in the best place. I would definitely recommend it for everyone and will come back certainly. Thanks for all the restaurant team.

We had a wonderful experience celebrating my daughter’s birthday at this restaurant. Staff were accommodating, friendly & attentive. The food was also amazing!!

We came here for NYE - the starters and mains were delicious. Portions were much larger than expected (which is good!) - we didn't like the Madeline's but this is just because it was our taste. Coffee was great, reasonably priced. We will absolutely come back, the staff were lovely, the decor was nice and much bigger than I expected too. Thank you for making our NYE very special.

We hadn't booked, and the restaurant looked nearly full, but they found us a table in the corner really quickly. Superb moules marinier, excellent selection of cheese, very tasty french malbec. The service was the highlight though .. Ana and Brygide were both friendly and helpful, and easy to call over even though the place was packed. My friend and I had a wonderful evening. Thank you.

After having our evening completely wrecked by the chaos at Brick & Bones — who ran out of steak, offered us one to share, and left us stranded on a busy Saturday night — we turned up at Côte, knocked on the door, and explained our situation, hoping for a bit of luck. Despite being absolutely rammed and with no reason to squeeze in two extra people, the team at Côte couldn’t have been kinder. They didn’t hesitate. They found us a table, welcomed us warmly, and genuinely wanted to give us a proper evening after the mess we’d just come from. The food was excellent, comforting, and exactly what we needed, but the service was what made the night. Thoughtful, attentive, calm, and incredibly accommodating — a level of hospitality that you just don’t see often. Côte didn’t just feed us; they rescued what was meant to be an important night out for us. Thank you so much for your kindness. We’ll absolutely be back

Excellent all round, food portions were perfect not excessive. Staff attentive and well priced. Would recommend and visit again.

We were greeted by a very attentive host and chose a nice table. The food was excellent and good value. My mate picked up the bill of around £100 but we did over indulge in a few Irish Whiskey's included in that price. Will definitely go back.

Really pleasant enviroment will be back with family soon, staff seem very friendly and welcoming spoke with a supervisor about living in the south of france and felt very welcome. My only gripe was with tne baguette certainly not and fresh as i had hoped for the price point and was quute dificult to chew but this is understandbly not the fault of front of house staff. Was advised this would be put forward to the kitchen

Only the second time we have been here but is now one of my favourites. The fench onion soup is lovely and the sea bass was a good portion

Such a cosy spot with amazing food! My confit pork belly was absolutely lush and the calamari buttery soft. Staff were amazing and took off our desserts simply because they had to request we move seats, due to an unruly customer. Above and beyond, highly recommended

From the start all the staff were very attentive and polite, knowledgeable about food served, atmosphere great it was busy but we didn't wait long for our food after ordering. Highly recommended

2024 12 14 We came for a last minute lunch as we had a voucher to use. It was busy which was nice. The food was ok. Just ok 2024 10 31 We haven't been here for a while. We came for an anniversary with friends who has never been. The food was good but my wife found the pumpkin soup a bit thin and restless but we enjoyed our visit. We have been a visitor on many occasions . We recently went on a weekday. We arrived 10 minutes early and when we were greeted at the door we were asked to choose a table which we did but were immediately told it was not available. It had no reserved sign on it. (During the time we were there no one came and sat there) We then ordered food and waited ages as other people who arrived quite some time after us ordered and got their food. In the end I had to ask a waiter who stood consulting a tablet for ages to be told "it coming"..... No apology, no explanation.... The food was ok ... Just ok A disappointing visit. We come here often. It'll be quite a while before we return. There are other restaurants in Norwich

Excellent food and service!!! Loved the beef bougignon dish and the bread. The beef was so tender, perfectly cooked. The broccoli was cooked just right.

I came to the restaurant for dinner, the reception was very friendly and smiling, my order was a very delicious beef steak with potatoes. I highly recommend it.

Always great service from the friendly staff at Côte in Norwich. The menu is sufficiently broad to accommodate all taste buds, so if they’ve run out of your favourite roast chicken - because it’s so good - it shouldn’t spoil your evening.

Excellent food, full of taste and served hot (2 things sadly lacking from so many other restaurants nowadays) also had an offer on with a free drink

Adam was a gem to our table this evening. He looked after us wirh such kindness and we felt our experience was very tailor-made and personal. He is an asset to this restaurant.

It was my first time ever at a Cote and I loved it. The food was delicious but the best part was the friendly and fun service.

Dined here as part of an anniversary the other night. Food was excellent. Staff were all very friendly and funny and just really a pleasure to be around. Food was all the very top of quality. It was served very promptly and we weren't waiting very long for each course. Linen napkins. Speedy service. Very reasonably priced for a good selection of courses and brilliantly presented. Staff were ever present to assist and it's a 5 star french cuisine. Only thing to let them down is they add on 12% tip onto the bill which you therefore can't give to your waiter. All in all a top class place that I highly recommend.

Portion size is no joke here! I was planning to have a three-course meal but had to settle for two courses because I could barely finish them. The dishes were really interesting and creative. I did enjoy my main. The servers are very busy, so they can be less attentive, but overall it was still a fantastic experience for me.

We had a very nice lunch - the atmosphere is cosy and the service was good. We had the elderflower lemonade, and there is also a wide variety of other non-alcoholic drinks, wine and beer. The crispy calamari were nice and indeed crispy. I also had the crab maison, which was nice but needed a bit more seasoning. Our waitress was friendly and attentive.

Dinner was great. Loved the starters - beef tartare and seared scallops, then fish stew with a tomato based sauce, which also had crunchy prawns, mussels and halved baby potatoes. Then we decided to have desserts and ordered creme caramel and strawberry trifle, a sweet finish to a delicious meal.

Had a dinner date with my partner here. Very nice aesthetics and nice service. We went to sit round the back. Unfortunately it was very warm and even warmer when we started eating the hot food. Eventually we asked staff if they could put in the air con and then kindly did tk good effect. Staff were very lovely. The Cote Royal(a cocktail) was quite disappointing so I got another cocktail from the daily special and that was👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽. I also got the lank shank special of the day and that was great. Could have done with a bit of bread as side to go with the stew. My husband ordered steak and that was a bit disappointing in the size of the steak. Still nice though. Desert was YUMMYYYYT. Prices were okay- proces for lamb shank was worth it but not so so much the steak.

Food was brilliant and the guy running the place that evening was amazing as well! We went for a mate's birthday and he Had decorated 4 tables so we could choose where we wanted to sit but still be celebrated! The only slight shame was we chose to sit by the bar which was great until we just kept hearing the staff talk about each other behind each other's backs and nearly everyone except the manager got involved. But other than that it was an amazing evening!

A pretty disappointing meal overall. I haven’t been in well over a year but it’s historically been the best fillet steak and creamed spinach I’ve had. This time the cut of meat was very fatty to the point where I had to send it back and get another one. The second steak was much better but unfortunately parts of it were rare rather than medium rare, but by this point I didn’t want another. The creamed spinach was also disappointing - just watery and with grilled cheese on the top which they didn’t used to do? Sharing dessert presented very poorly but did taste lovely. Staff were polite and attentive but I did expect them to perhaps give us the dessert for free or some money off etc due to the meal being poor. Atmosphere wise it was fine but the toilets were dirty and had no soap for the duration of our visit.

Fantastic roast chicken, delicious beef bourguignon, and lovely frites with various sauces. Was not too crowded at all for a Saturday lunch (still had several empty tables between 12.00 to 13.00). But unfortunately, service left much to be desired. They advertise free-flow frites and sauces, but took over 20 minutes to bring us our second helping of frites, which arrived long after our mains had gone cold. We also then waited ages to get our bill as many waitstaff walked by without making eye contact. When we finally managed to flag down a staff member to ask for our bill, it happened to be the ?manager, who was on his way to another table. His tone was incredibly passive-aggressive about us interrupting his route to serve another table. These experiences rather soured our first time at Cote, and we will not be returning to this branch any time soon.

We ordered and our coffee and tea arrived quickly but our French onion baguette and mushroom and Camembert cheese were not to be seen. Other people who ordered after us were being served. When we asked about our order we were told it was being processed but the tartlet took a long time to cook (mushrooms and cheese!). Eventually our food arrived. The French onion baguette didn't have much in the way of camembert cheese. The tartlet was okay but the service issues took the shine off our experience. We considered asking for the 10% service charge to be deducted but instead of making a fuss we decided to do this review instead.

We were given a £100 Cote gift card via Amazon, which we activated and printed as a voucher. We booked a family meal (including my parents who were visiting), and when we went to pay, were told the voucher had expired — despite there being no expiry date shown anywhere. There was no flexibility offered in the restaurant, and we had to pay the full bill ourselves. I later contacted Cote customer service, who kindly extended the voucher until Christmas, which I appreciated. We rebooked for a family lunch on Saturday, only to be told before ordering our food that gift vouchers aren’t valid from Friday to Sunday. This restriction isn’t mentioned on the voucher, wasn’t flagged during booking, and isn’t clearly stated on the website. A gift card is not a discount code — it’s been bought with cash and should be valid at any time. It feels very unfair to impose these limitations on something that’s already been paid for. After two disappointing experiences, we’ll use the card on Cote at Home instead to avoid a third disappointment. A real shame, as we’d been looking forward to enjoying a nice meal out with family. We ended up going next door to Jarrolds and had an excellent lunch there

Went with group of 9 people for works Christmas lunch. Within 5 hours of eating, my colleague and I both got acute food poisoning having eaten seafood. We complained on the phone and in writing. Nearly 2 weeks later, they wrote to tell us it wasn't food poisoning and they refused to take any responsibility. They claimed it was a bug or virus, but if that was the case I would have been ill for days and so would the rest of my household. My colleague and I spent over £100 towards the meal and have not been offered any compensation. Not only this, but it took 40 mins for the waitress to take our order. Our lunch took a total of 3.5 hours! Having been a loyal customer for 20 years, I am so disappointed by how this restaurant has dealt with this situation.

Went there today...ordered starters..all good so far....went to main...my wife's turned up no problem. My main which should have been a serlion steak. ..was a baguette...not wot I ordered...sent it back and cancelled my order....server was so apologetic but nothing from the management...won't go there again....if u don't care...don't work there

This place has gone dramatically downhill. I have a bittersweet feeling leaving this review as I used to love coming here. The service is always excellent and still is. But the food has gotten so bad it’s almost crazy. I ordered the most expensive steak on the menu at about £30 and it was absolutely tiny. Having to pay extra for the sauce. And then the chicken I also ordered seemed to be very undercooked and I have woken up not very well today, which may or may not be related. Have a look at the pictures below and judge for yourself!

The new menu is a serious step down in quality and choice: the fries that were a standout now resemble oven chips, favourites like the chocolate mouse now no longer available, the kir royale gone, the vegan burger basic at best. More like fast food than a restaurant with the latest incarnation.
