How have I waited so long before visiting? A lovely roast dinner in a very generous portion, followed by a delicious dessert. Service was spot on within a lovely relaxing atmosphere

We celebrated our Grandad's 90th birthday here. We had Sunday roast which was absolutely delicious. Every single member of staff was lovely,chatty, accommodating and very efficient. They put a birthday banner on the table for us with a birthday card for our Grandad. We thought that was a lovely touch. We definitely recommend this lovely place and will be coming back. Thank you :-)

Recently we enjoyed a stopover in our motorhome at The Crown Banningham. The friendly service and approach to us as customers was first class. We were really well looked after with a great menu for dinner and tasty home cooked food. The staff helped us with a hosepipe and water for our motorhome and they could not have done anything more to please us. Even the dog got a treat or two. Highly recommended.

The Banningham Crown was outstanding, a beautiful traditional pub. We came in as a large group of 13 to celebrate a birthday and had such a good experience. The service was excellent, really lovely staff who were helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time. They served really delicious seasonal food at a fair price, everyone really enjoyed our meal. I would whole heartedly recommend and will definitely be back when we are in the area. Thank you for a lovely afternoon

We have enjoyed the food there and also the service wasn't bad either. Perhaps my fish sauce was slightly too rich for me, but everything else was really good so 5 stars.

Food was amazing, we had a roast dinner and sat outside. It was very sunny and a beautiful atmosphere. Only thing I would say is more gravy but I’m sure if I asked I would get more. I also had chicken liver pate which was amazing! Especially the onion chutney, the pate was a big portion so would just say maybe add another bit of bread as had some left over

The Banningham Crown is a very quintessential village pub. The menu's are very hard to choose from but when you make your choice you won't be disappointed. Everything cooked on site with a expert chef and fantastic and helpful staff to make sure you enjoy every minute of it full marks all round

Absolutely lovely atmosphere! The staff have gone above and beyond for us and the food was really nice. We had an amazing time and we definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a pub in the area!

The wife and I had a very enjoyable lunch yesterday I had the fish pie and it was wholesome and plentiful as was the wife's liver and bacon so much so neither of us could manage the sweets on offer ....great selection, there again we are both in our 70's lol. Big thankyou to both manager and his young lady waitress who worked tirelessly managing a large party and obliging them with festive music 🤫 and our crazy 9 month old puppy Elle on her first trip for a pub lunch. Hopefully we will now be able for more such outings soon. Thanks guys see you soon and hope you both have great Christmas👍 Colin, Trish and Elle

My family and I had a fantastic meal at the Banningham Crown early on a Friday evening. Staff were very attentive - huge thanks to Grace and Jacob - service was excellent and food was delicious. Highly recommend the gammon and steak & kidney pudding.

What an amazing pub. We ate here on Valentine's Day so it was very busy and still the food was absolutely first class and the service was spot on. This is a must-do pub if you are nearby. Well done chef and the team

Had a few meals at this establishment and all were superb. Service was good in all departments the staff couldn't be more attentive. Great selection of ales served. If you in the area you must try this place.

Just had the most amazing meal, cooked to perfection. The staff are really professional and friendly. The evening was absolutely lovely, we was celebrating my Husband's Birthday and it was just perfect. Thank you to all the staff, you're a real credit to the restaurant. There's also a brilliant choice of Gluten Free meals too xx

We were recommended the Banningham Crown by our host at a nearby holiday accommodation. It was a good recommendation because the food was delicious and the range of drinks was good. The service was polite but due to the pub being quite busy the service was somewhat uncoordinated at times. Would definitely visit again for food.

Despite being in the middle of nowhere the place was very busy. However my lunch was served within about 15 minutes. Dog friendly and a large car park. I sat next to the fire and it was very cozy on a cold day A nice experience all round.

Lovely restaurant with excellent food. It may seem more expensive than other restaurants but with the quality of the food we had, it was well worth it. We have been previously and will be going again. Visited again with a group of 14. Ordered in advance so no long wait for food. The burger was excellent and had to have the cheesecake for dessert.

Lovely meal the chips were especially good. Black forest cheesecake 😋

First class. The food and staff were excellent. I can highly recommend here. I also felt very safe. There was a good selection of food. I did take a picture of my dessert.

A wonderful Sunday dinner. Our party of 6 consisted of ages 7 months up to 65yrs, we were all made to feel welcome and well looked after. Being a busy Sunday lunch did not take away from the quality of service or food. I would highly recommend the Crown for a family meal, we will definitely be back again.

Came for Sunday lunch - great experience! It was busy but the atmosphere was relaxed and the staff all very professional. Service was quick and efficient without being overbearing. We all had the Sunday roast (four on offer including a vegetarian option), pudding and a coffee. Food was very good and beautifully served. Particularly enjoyed the chocolate cheese cake! Will definitely return when next in the area and highly recommend.

I had the special of the day, a Bolognese with chorizo. Very tasty and a very generous portion. I couldn't eat any more!

Really nice, genuine, friendly pub with great food. We had an excellent sharing seafood platter. Everything was super fresh and top quality sensibly priced.

Christmas menu, plus food was piping hot even though we were a large group. Service was good and fast considering the number of us being fed. Negative: food was a tad salty for me.

We like it here very much, however this last visit was not upto their normal standard. The veg was very undercooked and the dishes didn't all come out at the same time. Which meant some of the group either starting before others or having to wait and their food go cold.

I had the summer seafood platter which was really great. More than enough food for one with a great variety of items. We came at around midday so the pub was relatively quite and we had no problem finding a table. They have a varied menu, a light lunches menu, and a specials board which means you're guaranteed to find something you'd like. They have a good selection of draught beers and ciders as well as all the usual wines, spirits, and soft drinks. The service was friendly and professional at all times, however, the meals did take quite a long time to arrive considering how quiet the pub was when were there and the types of dishes we ordered. I'd definitely go back.

Really tasty food and an a nice restaurant indoors and out. Despite this the portions were very big and just a main course is enough to fill you up, it would have been nice to have tried something else.

Food is v good indeed.Good chef . It's fresh and seems mostly home cooked. They do interesting specials such as veg samosas chilli sauce etc. usual pub mains but note they offer fresh skate wings and local seafood/ charcuterie/ cheeseboard sharing meals on the menu. For real ale enthusiasts they offer Abbot ale / Adams ghost ship and other local micro brewery ales They appear to care about everything they do here (including the beer) and might benefit from increased local trade to ensure a good turnaround for these ales but my overall opinion is that you will enjoy a beer here and you will certainly enjoy the food. It's a good traditional style country pub and we in the UK need to support these independent pubs which survive. Pub chains generally don't serve the locals but it's fair to say the Banningham Crown does.

Very disappointing. Booked a table for Saturday night. Seemed very disorganised when we got there. Had to wait 5/10 mins before someone spoke to us at the bar! They gave us menus to choose our meal but couldn’t go to our table!! Myself and a friend had fish & chips, the worst ever!! Food luke warm, batter was dark brown (overcooked) and bones in the fish, just truly awful. Mentioned it and they took the fish & chips off the bill. Spoilt a nice evening. Ant chef worth his salt would not have allowed food out of his kitchen, very poor. No excuses just because it was busy. Staff were good.

Really disappointed. We visited last night and initially thought the place had a great vibe — front of house had good energy and there was a solid selection of beers. Unfortunately, things went downhill once we ordered food. At first, the open kitchen and menu gave us high hopes, but in hindsight the menu is probably too broad, which often leads to lower-quality or frozen ingredients. My partner and I both chose steak as it was steak night, but when it arrived it looked nothing like the advertised photos and was massively overcooked (we ordered medium rare). We had no choice but to send it back — something I rarely ever do. Based on that experience, we changed our orders. My partner chose the chicken, which was better, while I went for the burger. Sadly, that was also disappointing and tasted like it had been cooked straight from frozen. To make matters worse, I’ve been up all night with stomach issues since. The pricing also felt excessive for the quality. Places like Honest Burger or Patty & Bun offer far better food at a lower price, so this felt very poor value for money. Between the cost and feeling unwell afterwards, I genuinely feel short-changed. It’s a shame to be writing this because the service itself was good. Perhaps it was an off night or due to it being quiet, but overall the food was extremely disappointing. Sorry, guys.

Not busy but staff seemed un interested in the few customers there were. Desserts we tasty and large ! But main course scampi was doggy and greasy. Fish pie and burger were good.

Disappointing experience, sat outside as was a nice evening, waited over an hour for our food (family of 3). I ordered 3 x tapas dishes, was overcharged £5 as the deal was not took into account (later refunded no problem). The garlic prawns on toast were tasty but the other 2 were not very nice at all - hummus and pitta, plus pulled pork bao buns. My husband had the burger, which was burnt. My son's starter was cold. When the nice young man who collected our dishes asked if everything was ok we explained and he said he would send the manager out to speak to us. We waited 5 minutes and no sign, by then we were cold and fed up and left.

Came for a Christmas eve meal We had to get our own water glasses from nearby tables. Drinks took a long time to come, asked several times, told the girl at bar was busy. Our mains came out, steak, which we ordered 2, they got the steaks the wrong way around which we realised once we had started eating. Our sides of chips took at least 4-5 min to come out after our mains The onion rings where very greasy, and stodgy. We also had to wait for our steak sauce. Which was wrong, ordered stilton, both got peppercorn. And they completely missed a meal, so my mother had to get her main when most of us had finished. Also forgot her garlic bread which never came. They didn't charge for the late meal. Open kitchen, seems quite chaotic. Also given the wrong bill.

Terrible restaurant.Quick to take people's deposits for Christmas Day, but when it comes to organisation, or replying to people's messages, they don't wanna know.I was receiving other people's menu choices,and had to explain to them they had sent to me . When I tried getting in touch with restaurant multiple times if they had received my menu choice,via email and messenger, I had no reply whatsoever. It's a lot of money to pay out when you have no confirmation of anything, and feel like you are being ignored. Should of read other reviews from people before I handed over my money Just glad I didn't part with any more Certainly will not be recommending them to anyone.
