We went here on Valentine’s weekend so it was a busy night. Regardless, we were well taken care of without any rush. Our waiter, Luis, did a great job with attending to us, as well as, answering any questions/giving recs. For apps we ordered a Shrimp Polenta. Main course was Salmone (blackened) and Ravioli All’Aragosta. We had a couple deserts, but the one that stuck out most to us was on special: pistachio cheesecake. Everything we ordered was prepared well and tasted great. Def enjoyed our night, will return.

First visit to Lucca Osteria & Bar on a packed Saturday night, and it delivered across the board. The space sets the tone immediately — large, energetic, and buzzing — yet it never felt chaotic. We were seated toward the back in a quieter room, which worked perfectly for a long dinner with friends. Service was excellent: attentive without hovering, well-paced, and confident enough to let the evening unfold naturally. We spent close to three hours at the table and never felt rushed. The bar program is a standout. Cocktails here are outstanding, both in balance and execution. The espresso martini was exactly what you want — real coffee flavor, smooth, not overly sweet — and we ordered several over the course of the night. Their gin cocktails were equally impressive; Northern Lights leaned a touch sweet but was clearly intentional and beautifully presented, while Still of the Night showed real care in construction. The Aperol spritz was picture-perfect. It’s obvious the team behind the bar does serious work. Apps were excellent. The polpo arrosto was phenomenal — easily one of the best octopus dishes I’ve had. Perfectly tender, well-seasoned, and confidently cooked. East Coast oysters were fresh, clean, and briny in all the right ways. At one point, the manager stopped by and sent over shots of their house-made limoncello, which tasted bright, clean, and authentically Italian. Entrées continued the strong showing. The brodetto di pesce was outstanding: deeply flavorful tomato broth, generous seafood, and precise cooking across the board. One pasta dish we tried was more middle-of-the-road, but it didn’t detract from an otherwise excellent meal. This is not cheap dining. Our bill was around $600 for four people with two appetizers, entrées, and about three rounds of drinks. That said, it didn’t feel like a ripoff — the quality, execution, service, and experience justified the price. Lucca delivers what it promises, and it’s absolutely worth the spend. We’ll be back.

This past Wednesday, my company had our annual luncheon at Lucca. Being new at my company, I was nervous about planning my first event. I found out quickly that I had nothing to worry about. Sonia, the Sales & Catering Manager, helped me with the whole process. She was wonderful to meet online and an even better experience meeting in-person. She was great with communication for this event and being very accommodating to my last-minute requests. Besides working with Sonia, I got to meet her amazing team this Wednesday too. For this event, the team that served/hosted us were Caroline, Luis, Karen, Justyna, Dano, Nicholas, Teo, and Aregorio (apologies in advance if I misspelled anything). Not only were they quick on their feet, but they paid close attention to the needs of everyone at the event. When Sonia first told me about this group of people, she was not kidding in saying that they were the best. I am very thankful for everything that Sonia and her team have done for my company event. I already spoke to Sonia about having our event at Lucca again next year. Thank you again Sonia and her team for everything this week. <3

My Bridal Shower was absolutely perfect! The delicious food, decadent dessert, Bubbles & Berries beverage service and wonderful atmosphere was everything that I dreamed of and more. The staff members Sonia, Jasmine, Carla, Luis, Candy and Sergio truly helped to make this event seamless and enjoyable. I can’t thank The Chef Claudio enough for his dedication to making Lucca a great venue for all.

Lucca was incredible. Low lighting, intimate, a solid date-night spot right away. Service was outstanding, and honestly our waiter deserves his own shoutout. He was unreal. Knew the menu top to bottom, answered every question without hesitation, and gave great recommendations. I started with the Spicy Mango Not-A-Rita mocktail. Wow. Every sip had mango, lime, and the Tajín rim tied it all together. Super fresh and a little spicy. For the main, I couldn’t look past the Carne, filetto alla Rossini. 8 oz Black Angus filet, ordered medium. When it came out, it was charred on the outside, super juicy and tender. The flavors were insane. Beef, mushrooms, sauce, all working together. The edges had this crispy texture, and every bite had a smoky note. Straight up heaven. The only downside, it leaned more rare than medium, so I didn’t finish it. Still, that first bite? Totally worth it.

Beautiful restaurant. My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here and I requested a quiet spot to enjoy our time together because I read it gets a bit loud . We sat by the bar and because our reservation was early had that part of the restaurant to ourselves. Our server Anna was very charming and attentive and answered all our questions. The drinks from the bar were excellent , I highly recommend their version of the Moscow mule . Delicious! The food was heavenly and succulent and we were surprised by a special dessert for our anniversary. Friendly service , delicious food and drink, and gorgeous atmosphere. We will be back !

We dined here for the first time, and our experience was so amazing we will absolutely be returning! Dario was our server tonight and he made us feel so welcomed and taken care of! He made expert recommendations that did not disappoint, we enjoyed the 3 of the chefs specials throughout the evening because Dario was excellent at explaining each of the special menu items to us! We also enjoyed some of their most popular dishes, and with each bite our night got better! The ambiance was absolutely amazing and the dining room was filled with different tables of friends and families enjoying their time! Every aspect was more than great and we can’t wait to return to experience more!

Let's start with our incredibly kind, humble and attentive server, Dario. He made our whole experience even better and left a lasting impression! We dined leisurely with great friends and we both ordered the special steaks that were carved and served tableside by Chef Francesco. WOW, he cooked the steaks to absolute perfection 👌 We enjoyed the robust flavors of homemade pasta figioli that had a nice accent of fresh rosemary. Finished it off with a terrific cup of Cappacino and homemade fresh desserts of creme briulle and flourless chocolate cake. Dario served us complimentary, smooth orangecello served in a frozen shot glass. The atmosphere was lively and fun. Overall, the experience was worth every penny. We will def be back and will certainly request Dario!

Food, service and atmosphere all get a 5 star at Lucca. Friendly, efficient staff and manager. Lovely place with great daylight. Ordered the Linguine, Pizza, Salmon, Bass, Gnocchi and Bruschetta. You will not find a better Bruschetta and Bass in town. Just terrific, FRESH food! Will definitely come again.

First time dining here and the experience was phenomenal. Our server, Luis, was exceptional! His suggestions were right on...from cocktails (Luccachello Martini), appetizers (Grilled Calamari and Gambiere E Polenta), main dish (Dover Sole and Fettuccine) and dessert (Crema Bruciate)...superb! Luis even gave us a couple of shots of orange dessert aperitif on the house! Thank you, Luis! We will certainly be back!

Amazing Valentine’s Day Experience! This was our third visit to Lucca, and it was, without a doubt, the best one yet! We indulged in the Valentine’s Day special, which featured shrimp ravioli, aragosta, and tagliata di manzo—each dish was absolutely delicious. The ambiance was perfect for a romantic evening, setting the tone for a memorable night. A special shoutout to our server, Bianca, who truly made the evening unforgettable. Her attentiveness, warmth, and excellent recommendations took the experience to the next level. If you’re visiting, I highly recommend requesting Bianca—she truly elevated the whole experience to the next level! And of course, we can’t forget the tiramisu!

We hosted my parents' 50th Anniversary Party in one of the private event spaces and everyone had THE MOST AMAZING time! Per usual with Lucca, the food was outstanding and service spectacular! (Check out the Pic of Caroline going to extreme lengths to get our perfect group photo! 😁) If you're looking for exceptional Italian food, coupled with stellar service and a vibrant atmosphere, look no further!!!

Lucca Osteria is truly a hidden gem... from the moment you walk up the ramp you are greeted by very friendly staff. Everyone offered a smile and help before I even reached the hostess podium. We held a private event there recently and the menu was amazing! Chef knocked it out of the park! We wished we'd met him! Our waiter Luis is a master of service, skill and warmth. He was always attentive and offered amazing service to each of our guests. Event coordinator was present to make sure all needs were met and checked in throughout event which was so greatly appreciated. Each server was polite and friendly as well. From our menu we recommend mimosa bar (Bubbles & Berries Bar), Fried Calamari, Rigatoni Dell'Orto, Lake superior white fish and Pollo Vesuvio. Overall, an amazing experience. Core memory moments achieved!

We hosted my nieces bridal shower at Lucca Osteria. The entire experience was first rate. I can not say enough about manager Sonia with her assistance planning a wonderful event. Every detail was handled with care. The wait staff was attentive, kind and just truly wonderful. The food was delicious. Hats off to the chef. I give Lucca Osteria my whole hearted endorsement as an event location. Absolutely fantastic!

We hosted my daughter’s bridal shower here and had the most amazing experience! The staff, service, and food were excellent. Everyone was so accommodating. A special thank you to Sonia for all of her help planning! Carrie and Carolina were amazing along with everyone else. Would recommend Lucca’s to anyone hosting an event or just going out for a great meal!

Visiting for work. Restaurant recommend by Marriott front desk. Hostess was very pleasant. Waiter was very friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. Food was amazing. The mocktail was delicious. The Mediterranean Sea Bass was cooked perfectly. The capers, olives, potatoes and cherry tomatoes were seasoned to perfection. The Creme Bruciate was reminiscent of Paris. It's a yes for me. Nothing but compliments.

Celebrated my birthday at Lucca’s on a Thursday. I couldn’t have asked for a better evening. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating. Our server was Luis and he did a great job! From cocktail recommendations, to entrees he knew his stuff. He went above and beyond making sure our meals were timed perfectly. (Dinning with a little toddler is hard and timing is everything, his attention to that detail was amazing.) On top of the wonderful service and food they had live music on the patio that we were able to catch a bit of. Overall we had a great time and excited to make this our go to place for all occasions.

My fiancé and I had a wonderful time on her birthday. We had gone to Italy and saw Lucca this past summer. This restaurant provides the food and atmosphere of the small Italian city. The food was delicious. Our fried calamari came out very quickly, and was fantastic. I had the linguine which came with clams, shrimp, and mussels. My fiancé had the lobster ravioli and added shrimp. We had the opportunity to talk with the owner who spent over 15 minutes with us, talking about the town of Lucca and Italy in general. Such an amazing guy. Our waitress was phenomenal and was able to answer any of the questions we had on the menu. She also helped me out by telling me what I might have dietary restrictions on as I am lactose intolerant. I would highly recommend this restaurant anyone looking for authentic Italian cuisine that was just as good as the food we had in Italy.

G
Gloriya Andreeva

The restaurant’s authentic atmosphere and incredible flavors made us feel as if we were dining in the heart of Tuscany. We had the pleasure of meeting chef Claudio, who has truly captured the essence of Italian cuisine and culture. Also, speaking of authenticity, we highly recommend requesting Daniela as your server. She was attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations! From the ambiance to the food, everything about Lucca feels like a little slice of Italy. We can’t wait to return!

fully enjoyed my experience here!! Chuy delivered FANTASTIC service! our glasses of water and wine were never empty (until we finished the lovely bottle of pinot grigio). the west & east coast oysters were both VERY fresh and the mignonette was a perfect addition. the carpaccio was tasty but a bit too much olive oil & salt for my tasting, but my friend loved it. the ahi tuna entree with the spicy topping was absolutely delicious- i find myself thinking about it DAYS later. creme brulee for dessert was good as well, the berries were very fresh. i would absolutely come back. i saw another review complaining about the parking being very far away forcing you to use the valet- but valet is only $5 so it is very reasonable valet rate.

The food is amazing. We ordered the East Coast Oysters. They were amazing! The Cesar salad is like no other. The woodfire pizza was amazing. Added many flavors to the dish. The cocktails are delicious. Coconut Margarita was very good. They poured well in regards to my Kettle one and club soda. I totally recommend this place. Daniella was our server. Super nice and very knowledgeable about details of the menu. Please come here. They have reasonable and valet you can trust.

Great place, great vibe, great drinks, good food. Everything is just done well. Been here many times without complaints…. On a side note, the pasta made directly in the Parmesan wheel is fantastic. Highly recommended.

It was my first time here and it was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The food was delicious but the service was outstanding. Braxton was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, coming around multiple times to fill our drinks and check in on how we were liking the food. Food, service, and ambiance were all fantastic, I will for sure recommend to everyone I know.

I hosted a baby shower for my daughter and son-in-law at Lucca a couple of weeks ago. It was fantastic!! At the start, I communicated back and forth with Sonia for several weeks before I finally decided on a date. Throughout the whole process, Sonia was very kind, patient, and helpful. Once we finalized a date, everything fell into place perfectly. Sonia was in constant contact with me, regarding menus and options and deadlines for my final menu choice and guest count. It couldn’t have been easier. On the day of the event, the room was set up beautifully! Our waitstaff for the day promptly greeted me and made themselves available. Caroline went out of her way to be helpful!! Luis, Karen, Gregoria and the entire staff were polite, friendly, and respectful to me and all of my guests. The food was absolutely delicious! Drinks were available whenever anyone asked. Overall, this was a wonderful experience. I definitely recommend Lucca for any event. You won’t be disappointed!!

So I rarely leave reviews, like rarely! But sometimes an experience that's so great warrants a review. I saw Lucca Osteria on IG and any experience where they cook or prepare food for you is intriguing. So I decided to take my wife there for her birthday. Lucca is located in the heart of Oak Brook near the mall. Approaching the restaurant, it's extremely well lit and plenty of glass. Def makes it feel more upscale. We didn't have a reservation but we were seated immediately. Our waitress Shannon treated us with a smile and a welcoming personality. Now let me say this, I don't typically like Italian. I don't eat pasta or bread pretty much ever. This was purely for the wife. (Ok this review is getting long. Here's the TLDR). Shannon recommended 3 items throughout the course of the night, and man o man they were amazing. We had calamari, oysters and gamberie polenta. Do not leave the restaurant without trying the gamberie...seriously one of the best dishes I ever had. She also recommended the sea bass which was damn good but not as good as the gamberie. There was this expresso she recommended (can't remember the name) that put the perfect cap on our night. Very few restaurants impress me and this is one. John (GM) came by our table and spoke with us for a few. He even invited us to come back for several hosted dinners. I'll be there for the whiskey and cigar one. Another gentleman came by and asked us how we were doing (can't remember his name). Overall, I'll give this place 5 stars. It was so welcoming, cozy, while still feeling like an upscale restaurant. Almost a perfect spot for any kind of night.

Five stars is not high enough for the overall quality of the food, service, and atmosphere of Lucca's! We have had dinner/lunch here on several occasions and have always loved the entire experience. We recently had a large gathering of about 60 to celebrate the life of my mom. From the first moment we started planning to the last moment we left the event at the restaurant, everything was perfect. The food quality and service was outstanding. Everyone attending loved the food and complimented on everything. They were so friendly, attentive and responsive to everything. I could not imagine having an event anywhere else. Sonia, the catering manager was fabulous! She loves what she does and she loves people,...taking care of every detail to ensure that the day is everything you and your family could imagine. Menu and bar/wine selections were exactly what we needed for our group. Steven, an owner, stopped by to check to make sure everything was exactly as we wanted. Starting with the mixed green salad to the main entree of Mezzelune Cipriani, chicken piccata, sausage and peppers, meatballs, grilled vegetables and finally the wonderful Italian gelato trio was delicious. Portions more than accommodated our group. Loved this place and I and all of my family very highly recommend for dinner or a wonderful party! Can hardly wait to go back soon!

FIVE STARS FOR LUCCA!!! Our event was fabulous thanks, of course, to Sonia and her banquet team, the restaurant hosts, servers and kitchen who each catered to whatever my guests desired. The food was amazing! We received really positive comments from everyone!! Your food and beverage suggestions and other ambience recommendations were spot on! Everyone truly enjoyed the evening. I could not be more pleased.

Great Italian restaurant. Always busy with expected volume from large groups of people but the food (authentic Italian) and service are exceptional. It's always a treat to eat at lucca Osteria & Bar. It makes an obligatory trip to cold and snowy Chicago in January a little more tolerable.

Excellent. Very busy on a Saturday night so I recommend setting a recommendation. The food and service were outstanding. We will definitely be back. We had grilled Polpo(octopus) Bolognese Seafood Broth Everything was fantastic.

We went for a Valentine’s Day dinner and ultimately left pleased, but some minor complaints. Service was great! I think the menu had great selections, and had several Valentine’s Day specials. My husband ordered the sea bass which was delicious. It was served on parchment paper though, so as you can imagine with the moisture of the food, and as you’re cutting into the fish, the parchment paper rips and you’re eating that. I got their Valentine’s Day special shrimp and artichoke (or asparagus, I can’t remember) raviole. The sauce was extremely salty, and it’s the first time I’ve ever sent a dish back. I instead got the lobster ravioli and that was phenomenal. Some bites of the lobster were also a bit salty but it was only a few pieces, it was great otherwise and I highly recommend.

First timer. We were gifted a dinner by our children. Seated quickly which was great. First impression was the place was loud! Was seated in the bar area. We stopped talking to avoid screaming. Server was considerate but didn’t stop by often. Caprese salad was wonderful. Husband liked the gnocchi, was a bit firm for my taste. I had the pork chop. Unfortunately was dry except for the center cut. The broccolini was wonderful. The steak knife was dull but couldn’t get it replaced since the server didn’t stop to check in. Overall good but won’t be coming back with so many options in Oak Brook area.

S
Shashwat

Overall, the experience was good. The food is tasty and the portions are large enough that you shouldn’t feel short-changed given the prices of the items. We had an issue with flies outside and were quickly and easily moved inside, which was nice. Overall… the pizza was tasty and I’ve now been here twice and ordered the same dish both times. Would recommend, but be prepared that the prices are a bit high.

L
Lisa D

Great food. Nice menu and specials. Nice variety of wine. Atmosphere was great and plenty of parking or valet. I would have given 5 stars but the Bruschetta could have been better and service was bit slow. I don't ever want to rush at a nice dinner, but I should not have to look around for my server. I would definitely go back.

L
Larry Martin

Greeted by very nice staff. Food was unbelievable and the service was great. Had the table service Caprese salad. Live music was nice , but difficult to have a conversation at the table. Rude people smoking cigarettes and the smoke wanders into the eating area.

E
E K

Our waitress and overall experience was lovely. Only complaint is the hostess. The black haired girl was dismissive and had a bad attitude. She was extremely rude and short with us for no apparent reason, and the brown haired girl had to be extra kind to do damage control. Poorly behaved staff shouldn’t be placed in the front of the restaurant, or hired at all. It is extremely stressful for your competent staff to manage them- it’s not their job. Food was delicious and other staff is fabulous! I’m sympathetic to how difficult it is to find front of house staff, but please get rid of her.

Went to Lucca Osteria & Bar for a midweek dinner with my wife. The place is close to us and has great reviews, so we made a reservation and showed up a bit early. They seated us right away, and the place was already packed for a Wednesday evening which is always a good sign. We kicked things off with drinks. Our server, who was super friendly and helpful, recommended the Angelo Nero for me, and my wife went with the Old Fashioned. The Angelo Nero was a winner, smooth with a unique bourbon flavor that really stood out. For appetizers, we had the polenta with shrimp. The shrimps were big, fresh, and cooked just right, and the sauce had a spicy kick that balanced things perfectly. For mains, I got the Australian lamb chops with brussel sprouts and potatoes, and my wife went with the branzino. The wait for the food was a bit long, but the portions were generous when they arrived. The lamb chops were hearty and flavorful, and I really liked the sides. The branzino tasted fresh, but I felt the plating could have been done better. It didn’t quite feel like a standout dish in terms of presentation. For dessert, we asked for something with dark chocolate, and the server recommended the flourless chocolate cake which was excellent. To top it off, she surprised us with a complimentary tiramisu which was a sweet and thoughtful gesture. Overall, the food was decent, the drinks were solid, and the service was great. The wait time for entrees was longer than expected, but the staff made up for it with their attentiveness and warmth.

I ordered veal chop medium rare, but it came medium and no seasoning. Disappointed taste was so bad. Rest of food was ok. We went on a Friday, got the table after 10mins wait even with a reservation. Waiter was friendly but seems like they are short of staff.

J

Beautiful ambiance and friendly staff, but room for improvement in my opinion. Lucca Osteria offers a beautiful setting with warm, welcoming front desk staff and a great atmosphere. It’s a very nice place for a night out in Oak Brook. Parking, however, can be confusing — the free lot is not well-marked and requires a bit of a walk, which makes valet the easier option. Our server was attentive but leaned a little too heavily into upselling. The burger I ordered looked appealing but was underseasoned, and the bun a bit too dense for my taste. A small service slip-up during clearing also detracted from the otherwise pleasant experience. Overall, Lucca has a lot of charm and potential. With a few improvements to service consistency and food execution, it could easily become one of the stronger dining choices in the area.

R
Rick Pumo

Went for lunch with friends. Food was ok. Red sauce is underseasoned - and this is one of those restaurants that does not provide salt/pepper at the tables. I'm sure you can ask for it. The real problem is the service. There was a baby shower on the other side of the restaurant and the staff was unorganized and inattentive. 2 servers took 30 minutes to take our order and then kept interruping our table - unaware of each other's activity. Food was botched/delayed (server did not write down ou orders). 2 hours for an overpriced, mediocre meal with poor service. Disappointing.

D
David Divoky

The food was excellent. The service and the drinks were poor. To say I am disappointed is not quite accurate of a description. Lucca's was one of my favorite restaurants prior to this experience, and it genuinely is upsetting. Our server was Teo. There are three specific reasons why I feel that his service was poor. First, I understand the attempt to upsell a customer, but it's generally used when buying a car or upgrading service; not when ordering an appetizer. When I told him we wanted to order an appetizer, instead of "What would you like?" I get, "Would you like the seafood tower?". The $89 appetizer. Secondly, the upselling continues. My daughter ordered the risotto, Teo said with the white truffles, yes? No, the $45 risotto is perfect, not the $115 version. I will admit i might be overthinking this reason slightly but, because of the appetizer I am still annoyed by this. Lastly, we all ordered desserts, they were excellent, by the way. My wife ordered a chocolate martini, she was brought an espresso martini instead. And it was not good. Ordinarily, I would have asked for the correct drink but by this point I was done. And on top of these points were virtually ignored once a larger party was placed near us. 6 was an expensive lesson for me, I spent $400 (not included tip), and I should have been thrilled with my experience. But that was not the case. I have no intention to ever give my business to Lucca's again. And that is what is most disappointing of all.

A
Algis Kivenas

Would have given it 1 star but the drinks were very good, the food... not so much. This was my 1st time returning here since Tuscany and I will say I was far from impressed, none of us were. The skirt steak was far from tender and highly overpriced for the portion which looked more like an 8oz than 12oz. The smoked salmon was tough and gummy and I could go on but what's the point. The restaurant transformed into something I can't even describe. The old place was elegant and classy with such a different vibe. There were 4 of us, all of which left disappointed.

S
Stacey Bloom

We were super excited to try this place and we will never return. First of all, the parking is ridiculous. All of the main spots are reserved for valet. If you don’t want to walk, you have to pay to park. The valet guy was rude too. We were sat all the way in the back corner. It was so dark and the service was not great. Our waiter was nice but inconsistent. We ordered the octopus appetizer and it was undercooked. The wedge salad was the best part of the meal, although it wasn’t the greatest we’ve ever had. We both ordered the fettuccine wheel. The pasta was undercooked and had no flavor. It tasted like flour. I ordered chicken in my pasta instead of sausage and they charged me extra. To say that we were disappointed is an understatement. We will never be back.
