Looking for a hidden gem Chinese restaurant? Here it is! Hunan Yuan has the BEST honey walnut prawns because YOU CAN ALSO GET FISH!! I always get the combo prawns and fish 🤤 it’s my favorite! When I order on Uber Eats or something, they are quick with bringing out the food and dining in is quick too. Ask for the hot tea, it’ll get you right for your meal. Like dry fried ribs? Try the fried pork chop, it’s HELLA good, it’s like big pieces of dry fried ribs that got some kick. Chow fun and the combo fried rice are the sides and the salt/pepper chicken wings schmack with company. Broccoli beef is tender and the Chinese greens are delicious with garlic. I’ve been coming here for years and finally leaving a review since I want them to win and have more business. I’ll remember to take some photos next time since I always dig in and forget until it’s half gone! They’re tucked behind the Peets and Jamba Juice near the dry cleaners. Maybe I’ll run into someone with the honey walnut prawn and fish combo and know the good work has been done *nodding head in proud accompaniment*

The food here is always excellent. The only thing we ever got that we didn't like was the hot and sour soup, as we thought it too sweet. The restaurant can be hard to find. It is around the back of the building from the parking lot. There is wheelchair access to the left and stairs to the right. The majority of the seating is inside with one table outside.

Even better than I remember it. Try the fish in garlic sauce - probably not your regular order but it will become a new favorite. I also love the wanton soup and green onion pancakes. Great service, and the food is always fresh and delicious. So glad to have them back.

The waitstaff are excellent and have been there for years. You can always rely on them. The setting is relaxed and peaceful. The food is delectable. The prices are very reasonable.

Always good food. Prices are more than some, but the quality is good. Food is quality, staff is always pleasant. Not nearly as salty or greasy as lots of other "cheap" places. We always come here when we want healthier, quick, options.

there is no better burger me and my dad when to eat here every tuseday and just keeps geting better for one their curly fries are like heven there is no better frie you get a fun shape crunchy on the outside and soft ont he inside. the chesse burger is evan better with the chesse getting perfictly getting stuck in between you teeth, so if your in the oakland hills and want a good burger this is the spot

Fantastic burger, great place on a sunny day to sit out under the awning and enjoy the trees and shade around the restaurant. I like the overall set up. Their fries are awesome and plentiful. Burgers prep and spread reminds me of in-n-out in overall composition but better quality.

Sparky's is a great quick lunch option. They've stream lined their systems during there busy times to get their customers in and out quickly. You can expect the same food quality every time. I got the teriyaki plater. I've changed my eating habits and have become sensitive to salt. Unfortunately I'll have to explore their menu to choose more healthier options. I haven't given up on returning.

Early morning hike…stopped to get gas and seen this gem..Stopped by and grabbed a burger and curly fries! The curly fries…FRESHHHHH!!!! CRUNCHY!!! The burger!!! Mouth watery! So delicious! Glad I stopped by to try this gem out. Quick service…food came out in minutes.. Awesome awesome awesomeness!!

Delicious and fast! They have impossible burgers and variety menu. I don’t like the plastic curtains (I think is for any reason), but the place is like a garden, 10 min from Redwood Park, enough parking too.

This was such a wonderful place to eat. The outdoor patio had fresh crisp air flowing through the open windows with the smell of trees and thriving plants surrounding the perimeter blowing in the wind adorned with stringed lights to add the extra touch of eye candy while we dined one of the tastiest burgers I have had in a long while, French fries were crunchy and perfectly fried ,while the onion rings were equally some of the best I have ever had. Also, for ranch lovers out there, theirs is top notch. They had free cucumber water as well. All in all, this was such a great place to stop for some decadent grub! Would love to come here again next time I am in town. I ordered the turkey burger while my comrades had a double cheeseburger and bacon burger. The self serve kiosk made ordering fast and easy.

MUST try!!! Nice & cozy vibe kind of place. We are not local, just stopped by for a dinner after hiking at Reinhardt Redwood Park. Got the salmon burger and sweet potato fries which were excellent! I will be coming back to try their other options. Prices were a little high with mine being 24$ for a burger fries and beer. The beer was only 4$ though which was a nice break. Came back again a few days later and got the hamburger with cheddar and fries with a beer and ranch and that was great as well. I plan to come here more when in town

Been a Sparky’s frequent flyer for years when living in the East Bay. This trip was another great one. Had a medium done double burger with blue cheese while wife had a bacon avocado burger. Patty is high need to fat ratio, the way like it. Just enough fat to be tasty but not more. Sweet potato fries are the best and you can feel they are home made, minimum processed, making them very tasty. Another great visit!

Sparky's Burgers is a hidden gem! Very unassuming food stand across the street from a Chevron but inside there's magic happening behind the counter! I got the cod fish "burger" with curly fries. The fish was crispy and flaky, freshly fried to perfection. The sandwich came on a whole wheat bun with homemade lemon dill tartar sauce. I'm not even a fan of tartar sauce but the stuff they put on this sandwich made me a believer! Hands down one of the best fish sandwiches I've ever had! Me, being one to never finish my food, DEVOURED the whole sandwich because I just couldn't stop eating it. Curly fries are delicious, too. The portion was great and they were perfectly seasoned. One order could comfortably feed two people. I would highly recommend this sandwich if you go but, from what I've heard from the locals, all the food here is worth a try down to the freshly squeezed lemonade. Service was friendly and fast and the food came out within 20 mins 🥰 if you haven't been yet, GO!!

The options for food is great, lots of variety. They serve a lot more than just burgers. If you have a family that can't all agree on food, this spot is great. In the overall rating I had to take away a star because my burger bread is always soggy. The patty of the burger is always really delicious.

Nice burger / sandwich restaurant with good food. A little difficult to figure out entrance and ordering (online, kiosk or in person) but once that is resolved, the menu has many options and the food is nice. Seating is a bit cramped but available around portions of the building. The food is worth a visit

Hot link was delicious! Grab the regular cheese burger, you can't go wrong w/ the high grade hamburger meat! The Texas was decent but the avocados did overpower the flavors. Try the sweet potatoe fries, crunchy soft and slightly thicker than most fries, not wedges of course. If you're into "not too sweet" drink. Arnold palmer is a great choice. Order online, so much easier then being crowded with everyone picking up, ordering or waiting. Just order online, wait 15 mins then walk up to online order pickup window, and then you leave. Great burger joint. Would love to dine in; atmosphere is really kicking back, love patio area. Recommend if in the area.

Hard to find place behind the building. Chicken wings tasted slightly bitter. Either bad or old wings. But nothing like what fresh chicken wings I’ve had at any other chinese restaurant. Beef and broccoli at least had well cooked broccoli, unlike some places that serve semi-raw. But they skimped on the sauce. Usually should have oyster/soy sauce perhaps thickened with starch. But this was very bland. Just add more sauce to beef and broccoli.

Based on only three dishes we were not impressed. The food seemed not to be prepared with very much effort, or love. It could have been an off night for the cook, but we’ve had a couple of similar experiences in the past. But it’s been a while so we thought we give them another try. Sad to say, I don’t think we’ll be back again.

I've had much better for a lot less money elsewhere. The sesame chicken was bland and the sauce was very soupy. I've been other places that give you white rice with entrees which would've helped to soak it up, but this place doesn't do that. I ordered veggie fried rice with it, which I also thought was bland, but it at least helped soak up the soupy sauce. Maybe this place skimps on takeout orders compared to eating there, but I'd try a different place if I were you.
