Amazing Italian food! Very fresh, very yummy. I'd definitely go back for any occasion. We did have to wait sometimes when our server was busy and/or kitchen was backed up. But well worth it!
Delicious authentic Italian food 😋 we had ravioli, fettuccini and gnocchi. Service & environment is classy 😊
My server for the night was Peppe. He was absolutely lovely the entire time. Little bit of a slow night, still made sure to keep a good energy and left me feeling appreciated for giving this place a try. Brought food out quickly, and gave great recommendations on what to try. He's a star and represents this place perfectly. If I had to sum this place up with three vibes? Delicious Savory Calm and soothing Open dining space, and with a homely atmosphere. There is a piano befitting of the relaxing atmosphere. Unfortunately I did not get to hear anyone play it, but I look forward to hearing it on the next time I'm here. Appears very clean, very minor things to clean such as curtains and windowsills. Appetizer Stuffed Tortellini (special of the day) Thoughts: Well plated, well portioned Very delicious seasoning on the sauce Tortellini was perfectly cooked Ate it so quickly I forgot to take a picture Highly recommend Fettuccine Primavera Amazing, hands down one of the best dishes I've had in a while. Sauce perfectly seasoned, absolutely not lacking missing any flavor. The pancetta, onion, mushroom, cherry tomatoes, spinach, and peas were like a flavor explosion. Incredibly satisfied. Fettuccine was perfectly cooked again, the best way to warm up in this Florida cold. Tiramasu- I know, everyone has tiramasu. This was one of the better ones I've had , and tasted wonderful. The slight bitterness of the coffee mixing with the sweetness of the milk/cream was just amazing, perfect texture. 100% ordering it again. I ordered a Ravioli Casa togo, to bring home to the wife. Ravioli Casa- Brought it home for the wife, who said it traveled well. Said the sauce was delicious, and that she just wished it had a slightly higher portion size. All in all this was absolutely a 5-star visit and I can't wait to come back.
What a great hidden gem! We love this place. Beautiful! Cozy! Romantic! Exceptional food! Fresh ingredients! Great decor! White and Blue decorations! Don't let the strip mall location fool you. This is one classy restaurant! They also have gluten free and vegetarian options! Many dishes they can accommodate special requests! The waiter was enchanting and endearing!
Review: Casa Cosenza - Oldsmar, FL Casa Cosenza – Oldsmar has become my go-to Italian restaurant, and each visit is nothing short of a culinary journey through the diverse flavors of Italy. From the moment you step through the door, the warm ambiance and friendly staff make you feel like you've been transported to the heart of Italy. The owner is what I call fresh off the boat, and many of his staff reflect the flavor and ambiance you would expect in Italy The menu offers a delightful array of authentic Italian dishes that cater to all tastes, and all the pasta is made in house! Michael Glinter has traveled to 87 countries and 36 states to get the flavor of some amazing foods. His view on reviews is simple – Taste, Presentation, and Service. He believes it's important to tell the reader both a positive and negative unbiased look at the restaurant. Let's take a look and see how Casa Consenza scored in these 3 categories. Taste and Presentation We started with a special appetizer for the night which was a Homemade Tortellini stuff with Italian cheese and white truffle in a white cream sauce. Then for entrees we had Filetto al Barolo a 8oz Filet Mignon in red wine sauce, served with mushrooms, vegetables, and house potatoes, and the night special which was a Branzino filet with mussels and clams topped with a red sauce. The filet was cooked to absolute perfection, the Barolo wine reduction is a symphony of flavors and truly complemented the meat, The presentation was equally impressive, with an artful arrangement that highlighted the dish's elegance and with a side of perfectly cooked mushrooms, zucchini, and potatoes. and a choice of potato accompaniment The Branzino was a true celebration of the sea, a dish that impeccably combines freshness, flavor, and culinary artistry. It was grilled to perfection, showcasing the pristine quality of the fish. Each forkful revealed a subtle sweetness that spoke of the sea, and the expert seasoning allowed the natural flavors to shine. The inclusion of mussels and clams added a dynamic layer to the dish. The shellfish were impeccably cooked, tender and brimming with the essence of the ocean. The savory broth, infused with garlic, white wine, and herbs, was a symphony of complementary flavors that elevated the entire dish to a new level of indulgence. The presentation was a work of art, with the vibrant colors of the seafood and the aromatic broth creating an enticing visual appeal. The dish was accompanied by a medley of seasonal vegetables, adding a refreshing balance to the richness of the seafood. Service What can I say. Max. Dear Max. He was amazing. He exhibited a genuine passion for the cuisine, providing insightful descriptions of each dish and its preparation. His enthusiasm not only enhanced our dining experience but also reflected a true dedication to the art of hospitality. He was constantly attentive to our table, always asking us how things were doing, tasting, and making sure we were well taken care of. I observed him around the restaurant and his passion for people and really creating an amazing guest experience was top notch. The Italian décor, soft lighting, and the piano truly created an intimate atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a romantic dinner or a celebration with friends and family. In conclusion, Casa Cosenza is a gem among Italian restaurants. The dedication to authenticity, the quality of ingredients, and the overall dining experience make it a must-visit for anyone craving a taste of Italy in the heart of Tampa Bay. Every visit has always been a celebration of the rich culinary heritage that Italy has to offer. Buon Appetito! If you do go to visit and Max is working, tell him “Uncle Mike” sent you there and he will make sure you have an unbelievable experience.
went for family Thanksgiving and it was wo derfyl. fresh food and attentive staff. would highly recommend!
Excellent food and service. Our group had the lasagna, fettuccine, filet, and kids pizza. Recommend everything. Service was great too. Had a pianist which was a nice touch.
Had a decent dinner here with a large party , the food was good the service was good. Only bad thing is which they told us from the start was there was no bartender on duty which was a little weird they need to teach someone else in the staff how to mix drinks when this happens as I’m sure they lost a ton of $ that night. You’d drive by this if you weren’t looking for it as it’s tucked away in a plaza.
Nestled in the heart of our community lies a culinary treasure, "Casa Cosenza." This local Italian gem offers an authentic taste of Italy with every dish and excellent Red Wine. With its cozy ambiance, attentive service, and mouthwatering cuisine, Casa Cosenza is a must-visit for anyone craving a taste of Italy right in our own neighborhood.
We enjoyed dinner so much at this place. The waiter knew the menu and ingredients very well and his recommendations were spot on. The best thing for me was that they use fresh and imported things from Italy and make their own fresh pasta. I had the best pasta al pesto and the fettuccini primavera was fresh and delicious. The seafood dish with home-made ravioli was great too! 👍🏻👍🏻
We loved this place. Excellent service and quality of food served. We loved the ambience. Very family friendly. Polite and courteous staff. So many vegetarian options to choose from. Worth every dime and time spent here.
Best Italian food in the area hands down!
Last night I had the pleasure of dining at Casa Cosenza for the first time and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was top-notch. First, let's talk about the food. My Friend and I, we both ordered the Fettuccine Primavera and it was absolutely out of this world. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was rich and flavorful with just the right amount of seasoning. Kudos for chef Eddy. We also had the Burrata as an appetizer and the wine oh my Lord. Last but not least, Ugo de Ambrossio my dear friend, you and your music are the soul of the place, thank you for enlightening us with your incredible talent. Our server was amazing too. Casa Cosenza is definitely a place I would recommend for anyone looking for a great dining experience. Service overall took a little bit longer cause they do everything in House but this is not a fast food restaurant after all. This is a place to come, sit, relax and enjoy, the best company, food and wine, the European style. I can't wait to go back!
I love this place. Basically I believe it’s a husband and wife team where the husband runs the front and the wife runs the kitchen. She prepares all the food fresh by hand herself and it is served with love. They moved here from Italy and they are really making their home here in the tampa Oldsmar area. Now it’s in the back of the ace hardware shopping center on forest lakes and tampa road. Small seatings and definitely call for reservations because there are always large parties for birthdays, communions and anniversaries. The fried mozzarella is probably the best I ever had. My gf had the gnocchi and enjoyed it. I had a grouper with red sauce that was nice and fresh and tender. Very nice server and the owner is a great guy. I’ve been about 5 times already and will be back again soon
This place is amazing ! Fantastic food , impeccable service and great atmosphere. We had no idea this gem was hidden behind a modest store front . The decor is homey and charming but in an upscale way .And the pianist ?? Wonderful ! Our new favorite spot !! I only wish I had taken more photos .
Beautiful meal last night for my anniversary. Griffin was our server and the service and experience were absolutely 5 🌟, we will be back soon!
This is a little hidden gem. The service was great, food was wonderful and it had some real ambience. It took a little longer for everything to come out but that is because they're making everything to-order! Worth the time and money :)
The food is wonderful and the service was even better. The tiramisu is a must try!
The restaurant is very cozy and everyone working there is so lovely. It felt like a very authentic Italian restaurant. I can’t wait to come back.
Food was excellent! But Please do not put on the TV behind the piano player, it's Very rude! He was a fantastic player and deserves more respect. We were in a fairly large group, so we got to do a lot of tasting, everything was wonderful except the salad was a little disappointing.
What a wonderful experience! It was our first time at Casa Consenza and not only was the food fabulous but our hilarious waiter George made our night. We highly recommend!
Wow. I mean, wow. Who would have guessed that Oldsmar would have such an amazing Italian restaurant? I mean, Oldsmar is my favorite town in the Tampa Bay Area but this place is a hidden gem. Invited by my parents for my birthday, I underestimated this experience. First, I went “Florida Casual”…nice shorts and a fishing shirt. I felt underdressed but in no way was made to feel so. I would have fully enjoyed the experience more if I had worn a nice shirt. The funny thing though, as soon as I walked in I immediately took off my baseball hat; it just had a feel where hats are certainly allowed but again, it just feels better to embrace the environment. Ok, the service? Nearly impeccable young men working. They knew the menu, they were polite and they were personable. The atmosphere gave me the vibe that we were Italy though I’ve never been. It felt like the owner is obviously Italian and proud to share the best of Italy with his customers. The live piano was a tad loud but I didn’t even think of it until others at the table brogue it up. It didn’t bother be and watching the pianist lost in his joy was just mesmerizing. The food? I’m a horrible food critic because I love everything. But I can tell the difference between good food and food that flies at a higher plane. I had the Chilean sea bass with oysters, clams and ravioli. The only problem I had with it was that I was so fixated on the truth that it would all be gone soon that it distracted me from fully enjoying it. This means it was good. So good. The fillet was juicy and touched with so many things that it all blended into a masterpiece. Did it mention how good it was? Bottom line? I want to go back. I want to go back very soon, 24 hours later and I’m craving it again. My regret? I don’t drink. I feel that for those that can appreciate god to great wine, this would be the place to go. I could write about this place for hours. Go there…and bring some cash to tip the pianist.
Excellent pasta, fresh sauce. Nice wine list, good cocktails. We've always had great service. Good ambiance, well decorated and clean. We enjoy the weekend piano player.
What a lovely place! It was full and yet we were greeted and treated like if we were the only ones there. Dinner was so delicious. We had the sea bass special and the ravioli. Such quality! Griffin went the extra mile with us. Recommending this place to all that want to have good pasta!
We had an amazing experience, it was our first time there, we loved the ambiance, it was nice quiet, definitely a fancy yet homey vibe, perfect for a date night, good background music, it was clean, and the server did a great job. For the appetizer we had the cheese tortellini in vodka sauce and calamari - both were exquisite, truly amazing. My wife had lamb chops and I did the lasagna, both were very good. My wife enjoyed the wine, and we both did some gelato to end our dining experience. We definitely will come back.
Hands down one the best restaurants I have ever been to. The atmosphere, service, and food is out of this world! We increased the size of our party twice and they still accommodated us with no hesitation, even with a packed house on a Friday night. We will definitely be back! Thank you!!!
Great food great company and a great place to eat keep it up cazs cosenza your the best
Had my first experience at Casa Cosenza and it will not be my last. The restaurant was cozy and comfortable. The service was outstanding even with a larger party (8). Best of all the food was made to order and absolutely delicious!!
This charming, family-owned restaurant is a hidden gem! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a great ambiance that makes you feel right at home. The food is absolutely delicious, showcasing fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. What truly sets this place apart is the humble and friendly owners who take the time to personally greet and chat with their guests, adding a special touch to the dining experience. The service is top-notch, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable meal from start to finish. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food in a welcoming atmosphere!
Giuseppe and his team are amazing. During Covid, they kindly seated my family outside, as my dad had cancer and could not be inside. It was my parents' 45th, and Casa Cozenza and their team made our night amazing. The service was great, and we felt special. We have been here for many family events. When my dad passed, I couldn't think of a better place to honor his love of food. Giuseppe was amazing and was so kind and thoughtful as I dealt with grief and planning a memorial dinner. He was thoughtful and offered up a great fixed price menu for our party of 20. When we got there, the service was second to none, and the food was amazing. They made an anxious and sad day amazing, and our family loved all the food. I can’t thank them enough for supporting me during the hardest time of my life. The food there is amazing and you will be treated like family.
Had dinner here recently and it was fantastic. I had the gnocchi and it was honestly the best italian food i’ve had in an extremely long time. The atmosphere is fancy while still being friendly and perfect for families or romantic dinners. The waiter was great and extremely helpful when deciding menu items. Overall, I would strongly recommend this place for families, romantic dinners, or special occasions
Charming strip mall gem with terrific pasta, great staff, and a very cool bar. Every dish our party of six had was wonderful, with flavorful sauces. The house salad dressing is unique and delicious. Support this great spot!
Such a wonderful experience for my daughter’s wedding shower. The owners are amazing and went above and beyond to help decorate, as well as make sure every guest was happy. Food was amazing! Will definitely make sure to go back!
We drove past the restaurant location and it caught our interest. I looked at their website and was impressed by their offering of dishes. We went for dinner with friends on a Thursday. When we stepped in the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We were met by the host who showed us to our table. My wife had Gnocchi alla Sorentina and Lasagna, I had the Nettuno sea food fish. Presentation was excellent and the flavor of the dishes reminded us of being in Italy. We also had the Bruschette and the Polpette alla Nonna. The owners came to our table due to my wife being Italian and we had a great conversation down memory lane. I am looking forward to our next visit to Casa Cosenza and we both highly recommend this hidden gem in Oldsmar for great tasting authentic Italian cuisine.
Had our 2nd experience here tonight. They handled a party of 20 for a birthday beautifully. The chicken marsala and veal limone were excellent. Such a nice atmosphere and great service. Looking forward to our next visit.
Love the authentic Italian atmosphere! Everything about our meal was very good- food, wine, customer service. Tiramisu was wonderful! Will definitely be going back.
This place is a hidden gem! The food was excellent, the atmosphere was great, and the prices are very reasonable. The owner was incredibly nice. Highly recommend!
Please note. I am 60 plus and have been to a "few" restaurants. Casa Cosenza I will place in my top 10 of memorable dining experiences. Recommend this restaurant highly!!
Fresh Italian food! All of the pasta is made in house and fresh. The Rigatoni tastes like it’s from Italy and was excellent. My wife had a filet “special” for the day and it was just ok but the pasta side was also very good. The meat and cheese plate was very good as was the Caesar salad. Personally I like the bread and breadsticks they offer as they are light but not as salty and seasoned as most people are used to but if you’ve been to Italy then you know what to expect and I enjoyed them. Easy to get a table in the weekdays without a reservation and the owners and wait staff are very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend as a great local find.
We had a delicious meal at Casa Cosenza. The restaurant promotes homemade ingredients and the pasta is certainly fresh and scrumptious. I also enjoyed the quaint atmosphere. Our waiter, Griffin, was exceptional too - sharing mouth watering specials and exciting appetizers. We felt we were in a classy restaurant, as he made us feel like a queen and king. He was professional, efficient, and superb at making recommendations and we enjoyed our time eating and the talking to Griffin. Great conversation, great food!!?. Definitely worth going here; we highly recommend it and can't wait to go back.
Perfect ! I love it . I live in canada and I’m here on vacation to visit my family friends. They invite me here tonight and I love it . The atmosphere is great cozy feels like home . The food … ooh mama mia amazing ! The veal perfect ! Pasta amazing ! Appetizers great ! Griffin was helping us and was super friendly and good . 👍 thnxxxx a lot
Went for their Valentine’s day reservation special and it was exquisite. The food was rich and well balanced. The ambiance was tasteful. There was a lovely pianist playing instrumental renditions of popular songs. And it was all moderately priced. I had a lovely time and am looking forward to going back
Had dinner here after about a 4 year absence. The foid was very good and everyone in our party loved their meal. I ordered the chicken piccata. It didn't taste bad, but it had a smell as if it was about to go bad. I ate it and had no repercussions.
Charming location for our group of 8. We really liked the way the tables were laid out and the piano player was wonderful. The food was creative and the pasta superb.
Wish I could give this restaurant more than 3 STARS cause the Customer Service deserves 5 STARS. This was our second time at the restaurant and the food was disappointing compared to the first time we dined at Casa Cosenza. My husband had the Chicken Piccata was very blend and the presentation was minimal. I had the seafood special and I would rename this from Lobster dish to a plate full of Muscles. And few tiny pieces of Lobster. But more than anything I would like to address the overwhelming smell of the cleaning product FABULOSO. You get hit with the smell the minute you walk in the restaurant I was hesitant to stay because I have asthma but chose to dine in regardless. The whole time that we were there I could smell it. This is not healthy or pleasant especially in a restaurant. Please consider toning down on using this cleaning product. Thank you.
We ate there on a Thursday evening, it was simple enough to just walk in and get seated as there was only Two other tables seated around 6 o’clock. The interior of the restaurant was decorated nicely, clean presentable. Our waiter that evening, was personable and stayed on top of things well. Now for the food portion : the bread lacked flavor but the butter flavor I made it more palatable. We ordered the meatball appetizer and that disappointed as well; the meat was very bland and tasted like generic ground beef balled up without much seasoning: which was baffling as we did some research and supposedly the cook and owners are from Italy. For my main dish, the chicken marsala was bland. The tastiest part was the mushrooms itself. My wife ordered the Penne Tricolore which seemed to come with the Spicy red sauce for other dishes and not their normal red sauce. Tasty but a bit spicy if you aren’t ready for it. To say the least we probably won’t return to try anything else.
Horrible experience, stay far away! The $40 grouper entree came with 6 pieces of mini potatoes, broccoli was only the stalks no florets, primavera only had cherry tomatoes the size of a dime, a few tiny slices of mushrooms, no carrots, no asparagus, no zucchini, no broccoli and you call that primavera? The bread was stale and the water is room temperature! Come on! When trying to explain to the manager Giuseppe and the server Griffin, they both retaliated like there wasn't anything wrong and we were stupid for even mentioning anything! How dare they be so rude and ignorant to their patrons! There's more to tell about this disastrous evening, don't want to waste my time on them anymore!
This was single handedly the worst take out food I've ever had. The seafood risotto smelled like the seafood was spoiled and 1/2 the clams and mussels weren't opened indicating they were bad. I took one bite of just the risotto and it was like eating a tablespoon of salt. The chicken piccata was something out of a horror film. It wasn't floured or fried, it had the appearance and texture of being boiled. The sauce was a congealed mess and was dumped all over the boiled chicken and pasta. The "fried" mozzarella was soggy and served with browned and wilted greens. This monstrosity of a meal cost $87.74.
Went to enjoy my first night at this restaurant with my friends this past week. I will make it short and sweet, ordered Chicken Marsala and it had no taste, watery, very little wine and zero pasta came with it. Unless you ask, the dinner comes with breakfast potatoes and zucchini. I was not happy but didn’t make an ordeal about it. They make their own pasta and hang it in the window, was looking forward to it and no pasta. Disappointed and will not go back. Price to what you get, I know many other places I would rather go. Please learn from this and put it on your menu, “ NO PASTA” . Understaff and hard to get service.
Horrible take out. The food looked and tasted like it was cooked days ago and reheated. Disappointed since we get food from here often but won’t be in the future.
