This is my go to every day for work, and i've never been disappointed. The pizza is great, and they have plenty of other options when I don't want to have my 75th slice of pizza in a row.

I ordered the fried clam dinner it was delicious! The tartar sauce was sooooo good! The service was quick and friendly! Will be a regular!

First visit! Delicious subs and sandwich. My family will return soon. The sandwiches were made with care not just thrown together.

Probably the most underrated pizza place in Syracuse. Best crust, delicious wings and their egg salad sandwich is awesome too. Give this place a try, you won't regret it.

Great classic lunch/American dinner place. Good pizza, good subs and sandwiches, plus pasta dishes and more. They handle their rush volume in a fully acceptable manner. Laid back atmosphere, with a window-bar, and at least one television by the booths, alternately playing news or sports, maybe a cheesy comedy once or twice (pun intended!!). Oh, and Gannon's Ice Cream and Murphy's Gas Station are within two hundred paces for other conveniences (like gas, or a car wash, or those delicously dope small batch baked goods (; ). (Slices happen to be ideal to my taste: crispy-yet-flakey crust, notably tasty sauce, and a lil greasy, perfect for single-creased fold technique :L I try to get the most 'classic-delux' style that's out, but there basic three (cheese, garlic, pepperoni) are each and all solid choices as well (: )

I love their pizza. It's a greasy delight. In fact, this is one of the only places where I prefer just a plain cheese pizza. Sure, you can order toppings, but the cheese itself is so good, I actually feel like the toppings take away from the texture. It's also reasonably priced.

Walking in the place doesn't look like much but their pizza sure does make up for that! I have been to many pizza places and their pizza is the best pizza I have ever had! Garlic, broccoli and tomato is my favorite!

Pizza was amazing wings were crispy and just like we ordered we sat down to have some lunch today and it was nothing short of amazing always like coming here but sitting here and eating is nothing like when you order delivery the food is so fresh and good going to come back for lunch again tomorrow probably

Great customer service. I had to call from out of town and have it delivered for a charity event. They took payment and tip over phone, which is not unheard of but I needed a copy of the receipt for expense purposes. I wasn't going to be there to sign or obtain a copy of the receipt. They went above and beyond and texted me a copy of the itemized receipt and cc transaction. I hear the food was delicious too! It was refreshing to talk with someone at a busy pizza place who had great manners and patience.

I was there a wk ago. I had a scallop dinner with Cole slaw and potato salad. Everything was good, but I wld prefer my scallops not to be cooked so long, too deep fried.

A Very Nice Change for Me Usually, I'm not near McDonald, or Velasko @ lunch time, but I made it a point to try this pizza parlor. Was the pizza worth a special visit? Of course; the pizza was not special, but it was a lot better than the pizza I get on Milton Ave, or in Green Hills Farms. The fast, and friendly service made the pizza taste better.

We actually didn't eat here but I'm going to start with 4 stars there were lots of people in and outside eating it's actually in a pretty convenient location next to the liquor store and Gannon's Ice cream shop..... Maybe next time we will grab a bite then have dessert...

“We’re closing early tonight” - Every single time 20 minutes before they close. It happens every time you call. Basically the place has great food and a bunch of young lazy kids working for them.

Average slice nothing to rave about but nothing to be upset about either. Seems like they have alot going on and should focus the menu a little more. But I will return in the future.

Pizza is just ok but the sandwiches are good. They actually have surprisingly good desserts made in house, especially the lemon cake.

Food is ok but a little pricey. The fries are always over cooked. I do not like the extra charge for paying with my card.

The food mediocre. It was feast or famine for seasoning on the food. Food was 20 minutes longer than what we were told.

The store seemed very clean and the staff was very friendly. I'm not sure if they have a set uniform here but everyone seemed to be wearing whatever they wanted to wear. The girls had their hair down which is a health code violation and always bothers me. The lady at the front counter was cheerful and took our order quickly. We sat and waited for our food (2 pizzas and 2 orders of wings) and we watched her cash out other customers. The customer service seemed very nice and she was on top of her game. The food was okay, the wings were just so small and just saturated with wing sauce. They had these yotzi (yahtzee) wings which was a new flavor to me (half medium half blue cheese). Everyone seemed to like the sauce. The pizza's were just okay. I"ve spoken to a handful of pizzas and they all agree their wings and pizzas are just okay but that next time i need to try their subs that they're amazing. I'm looking forward to trying a sub next time.

It is ok. I lived in the Onondoga area for 2 years, and this was the only real highlight. Appreciate them for that. The turkey club is pretty good. It's still not great though

Food was good last time was poor.but this time it was good. Not out of this world yummy, but was not bad. Lol, services was bye younger people that seemed like they where rushing to close. Realy annoying, when you are trying to get your family of 6 requests correct,,when the worker repeatedly asking what can I get you, what would u like? What can I get you? Are you ordering food that needs the fryer? 😆 that one was really weird.. but food was better. Prices obviously high for that location.

Ordered online. Wings and fries. Arrived in between time estimate. 3 orders of wings and 1 order fries. Had to wait on 1 order of wings with 2 orders done and fries. Why weren't all 3 orders dropped at same time? Wings, for me, were way over cooked. Every 3 wings was a 12 oz drink. ( just to swallow) garlic Parm wings had very little to no sauce....should have just been plain. Counter girls were polite.

Just got home with a meatball pizza. Burnt...Black on the bottom! Called. A manager is supposed to call back about a refund. Ate some of the topping.

Pizza was not great. Maybe we just had a bad day, but sure didn't live up to the other reviews.

Sub roll was super dried out. Not like a lovely crusty roll… that would be totally acceptable. More like “we forgot to buy/make bread this week”. Won’t be back. Waste of money.

The kids that answer the phone and take orders have driven many customers away. Not only me, but several colleagues and friends have protested ordering just because of the horrible customer service. Pie isn't bad and the Chiken Tender subs are great. Too bad its hit or miss when calling in an order. You may be treated rudely or even ignored as I have experienced.

The most overrated pizza place I've ever been to in Syracuse. I have heard so much about it I could not believe how disappointed I was in it. I had a slice of pepperoni that they forgot about and left in the oven too long so it was brickish. I gave them another opportunity with a slice that they did not put into the oven and it was mediocre. I ordered the chicken fingers and honestly it was nothing special about the chicken fingers they obviously got them from a restaurant supply place three about 5 or 6 in the fryer and that was it. Very Bland and tasteless. The marinara sauce: should have just asked for ketchup. That and the honey mustard obviously came from a can that sat on the same shelf in the back. Pizza Hut has better food.

Food is pretty decent in person the staff our friendly on the phone sometimes good sometimes rude.. I work at Hillbrook we spend alot with Velasko but service is up and down an they close at 9 but stop taking orders at 8:20pm soooo yea if you close at 9 take orders until 9 or change your hrs. My main issue is them stopping the orders 40mins before they close an that goes for take out I’m not more than 4mins away and still can’t order after 8:15pm

Ok pizza but, never really had a good experience with the staff. Met the self identified owner who was working the counter one day, she sold me a slice from and old pie when I request one from the new one right below it.... Got plenty of attitude along with my request. If I wasnt super hungry I would have just jetted however, that was the last time I went there and will most like remain such.

I love their pizza but I went there at 9:12pm when they closed at 10:00pm and was told "I mean, I could drop something in the fryer". How are you out of slices 50 minutes before close.

I order from Velasko’s often enough. I am satisfied with the food, and most of the time I can accept the immaturity from the staff because it’s a pizza shop! I placed a simple order of pizza and wings on a Tuesday evening, and it took an hour and ten minutes to come 7 minutes around the corner. My food was left on the floor at my door without having knocked. I got a text that said my food was “out front.” They also didn’t bring the $3 2 liter I paid for. Some of the young people there need to be better trained in Customer Service!! When a customer is clearly “Upset” you don’t fan the flames!

Service sucks every time you call you get some young kid who answers with an attitude. I don't know why they work there if they don't like it there.

I ordered a sandwich and sandwich was given to wrong person. I waited for the correct sandwich. Bread was stale. Overall not a good experience.

Worst service ever; Ordered two sheet pizzas and 50 wings both sheet pizzas had the plastic k cups melted into the pies, called and complained received a gift cert for a free large ok good faith so we order again this time two large pies one of witch where complementary from the failed attempt the first time and both pizzas where cold witch would have been ok I guess BUT THEY WHERE ALSO BURNT. GREAT PIZZA IF YOU LIKE MELTED PLASTIC AS A TOPPING ON YOUR BURNT PIE…

Do not eat here. I have been a paying customer for 4 years. I got hair in my pizza and when I called and asked to speak with the manager I was hung up on TWICE. Then I was told to call back later because they are to busy. This is a health code violation and you think they would take it more seriously. I am absolutley furious and will never give them another dime.

Ordered pizza and wings, drove 25 minutes and they said I didn't order. Pulled out my cell and hit redial, they answered. I knew I dialed correctly. I went to another pizza shop.There are better run places, avoid Velasko pizza.

One of our favorite pizza places around, however we were very disappointed last night when we called multiple times to order dinner with no answer. We checked your hours and you were definitely open, hoping there's a good explanation and it doesn't happen again.

Took 27 minutes to get tenders. Staff doesn't say hello. Or anything they just looked me. It was odd. Food is not bad. I try to het the riggies that they keep in the fridge, but the last q times i went there. They werent available. Wasnt happy about that being that it was the only thing open within a pretty good distance of any other ffod. Oh well. Place isnt horrible. My experience wasnt the greatest the last few of times that ive went.

A half a tomato and a sprinkle of shredded lettuce with no blue cheese as requested. Not a hard menu item to get right.

Had to edit my review and deduct a star as the place seems to have no quality control or standards. Of the last 10 times I've ordered they've messed something up. If they werent the only place up here they wouldbt be in business. From forgotten side sauces, burned items, forgot to toast my mother's BLT, gave me the completely wrong order and asked me if it was ok or if I wanted them to fix it...FIX IT of course! They don't take all Credit Cards. Mediocre pizza. Not good not bad but convenient. They don't always answer the phones at night.

The pizza was black literally burnt. Messed up the toppings probably because the robotic sounding girl on the phone acted like I was bothering her by placing my order and was barely listening.

I order from here quite a bit.. I called tonight at 8:13 to place an order, was told it would take 15-20 minutes. I got there at 8:38 and lights were off, door locked. Sign out front as well as online says it should have been open until 9. They also took my phone number, could have easily called and asked where I was instead of let me get all the way there to see I couldn’t even get my food when it was still supposed to be open.

My experience with Velasko Pizzeria has been great until 4/25/2015. I have been ordering food from here for a little over a year. Every time has been a delivery until today when they said that they do not deliver to my house. I live 2.6 miles from there location and now all of a sudden the deliver driver that is working today said that the don't deliver to my house and that they never have delivered to my house. If this is the type of people that they have working for them (dishonest, ignorant and to lazy to do there job) then I highly recommend that you do not eat there. I mean who knows what they do to your food when you make them mad for screwing it up or forgetting something. The food is Barely ok and over priced anyways. I guess the bottom line would be just don't get food there.

I have been going to Sko's since High School. I am now in my 40's. It's good pizza not great. I was calling for a delivery as I have for my family over the years. I like the pizza and the chicken tender subs. The girl (Kelsey) was incredibly rude and said "we don't deliver to your house." I asked to speak to the manager and she hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak with the manager and left my contact information. The manager called me days later and essentially told me the girl had a "bad day", and have I ever had a bad day? I knew at this point I could no longer give them my business. There food is not that good to be that rude. I am extremely disappointed by their management and staff members customer service. This could have been easily rectified.

10/31/25 AGAIN!!! I'M DONE WITH THIS PLACE. THEY NEVER STARTED MY ORDER TIL I GOT THERE AND THE GIRL WAS SMART MOUTHED WITH ME WHEN I COMPLAINED. THE OWNER NEVER STEPPED UP AND SHE WAS RIGHT THERE. SCREW THIS PLACE. IT'S NOT EVEN THAT GOOD. Why call ahead when you get there and they haven't even started making it?!? Not the first time. Poor service! I've been a customer for years but not sure about going back. Byrne Dairy has good subs and a great panini. There ARE other choices sooo.....

Was greeted promptly & ordered right away. Ordered one large pepperoni pizza and 6 boneless bbq tenders cashed out then put $5 bill in tip jar right away before sitting and waiting for my completed order. The female behind me also ordered large pepperoni pizza. The cook bring out order, I open pizza box and it's not pepperoni but broccoli pizza. I explained that wasn't my order and that my kids will not eat a broccoli pizza. The cook say nothing take the box away to make correct order. My boneless tenders was not hot by the time the pizza was complete. On my way out to leave I went to register to purchase another bottles drink. The Cashier snatched the tip jar and slammed it further away as if she thought I'd want to steal the tips not even knowing I put a $5 bill in it when I first walked in and purchased order. No one deserved a tip.

Not only does Velasko not close their online ordering services when they are closed - they also don't even read their own google reviews lolol Poor customer service- Disappointed in Velasko and your customer service as your online website was accepting online food orders despite being closed (10/1). When I went to go pick up my food- your shop was closed. I have been trying to call you guys nonstop to speak to someone for a refund. No one ever picks up the phone at Velaskos (in general) and your website doesn't have any email option either to get in touch. If someone could give me a direct email contact to get in touch with someone- that would be much appreciated.

Wow! What happened to this place?! I know the owner changed but unfortunately so did the food and service. I use to love their food and especially their soups. I ordered 3 items (pizza, buffalo chicken sandwich and beef barley soup). The sandwich was not made by time I got there so I just cnxed it. The pizza was mediocre at best but the most disappointing was the soup. For me the beef barley is what brought me in. The soup wasn’t bad; it was horrible. The soup didn’t have the vegetables that it once had (no zucchini). The beef was substandard and there was absolutely no taste. To make it worse, the bowl size was in a smaller container and not full at all. I know all places are cutting corners to make ends meet but this has been a drastic bad change. I would have written to the deli privately but I didn’t see an email on your website. I don’t wish this place to go under (the hill needs places) but the food has changed for the worse. I hope you turn it around bc it won’t survive.

Just picked up a “Medium” pizza. Which is actually a small lightly dusted with sausage and peppers for over $20. Growing up downstate, I guess I was spoiled. Safe to say, I’m never coming back to this slop house again.

Wings had no seasoning. Pizza looks like and taste like Lunchables pizzas if they had a CBR pizza one. The Philly cheese steak I got tasted barely okay. I recommend not eating here and definitely dont get anything delivered. Everything was cold and old by the time I got it to top it off.

Have been a loyal customer for almost 5 years but the quality has really gone down in the last year. Some staff can be very rude. They seem too busy talking when you come in to order and they often look annoyed when you order. I totally understand being busy but glancing at me then continuing a conversation without saying anything to me while I stand waiting to order time and time again is off putting. Sometimes can be hard to get through by phone, will get a busy tone or put right on hold for a while without saying anything. Food quality has really gone down hill I used to love to get slices especially the chicken wing because it was fresh and tasty. Now it’s usually burnt and tastes old and stale. Most times now the pizza has been sitting in the warmer for hours and is hard, greasy and gross. The crust is harder than a rock and burnt and makes you feel gross after eating. The poutine had very little cheese and had a very watery gravy last time I ordered, hopefully not the new normal bc the poutine was super good in the past.

Co-worker and I ordered on slice at 530 for a 7 pm delivery to work so we could eat on our break. 730 I call and ask where our delivery is, the female who answered said the delivery person left with several orders and it would be here soon. My co worker calls at 755 ish again asking where the food is, the female on the phone is rude and gives the phone to the delivery driver who says he was here and there are 5 doors and no doorbells and he left(we have been ordering from here for 25 years). I sat in the lobby while waiting on my break and there were no cars that even drove by on our road let alone came thru our gate. He then says its 8 o'clock and we are closed and hangs up !!! So that leaves myself and my co-worker on a 12 hr shift with no food and no break time to go and get any. I have been a regular at Velasko deli for 25 years and am there frequently. I can honestly say I have never been treated like that by any restaurant and won't be returning any time soon and will make sure my co-workers are aware so they to can take their business elsewhere.

I would give 0 stars if that were possible. Just had the worst possible experience with Velasko pizza. Ordered delivery through their website. Delivery time came and went so I called the restaurant to ask if the order was on its way. I was told that i had called and switched it to a pickup which is a complete lie. When I told the woman on the phone I never once called I was met with nothing but attitude and wasn’t offered a solution in solving my issue. I will never order from this restaurant again nor will I ever recommend it.

Disappointed yet again! The food at Velasko is less than average, basically gas station pizza, but it is a convenient location. Ordered two subs and a medium cheese pizza ($40) for eating in. Every table was dirty, had food remnants or other garbage on it. After cleaning off the table, we sat down to wait. Two teenage employees were standing and talking the entire time, apparently oblivious to the dirty tables. Subs came out. We waited for over 30 minutes for the medium pizza with no update. I finally asked where our pizza would be ready and was told five minutes. We ended up waiting over 50 minutes in total for one medium cheese pizza. This will be the last time I support this business. The obviously don't care beyond making a profit.
