Been coming here for years, and they've never missed. Ingredient quality and craft is very high. Ahi tuna is high quality, always perfectly seared, and never stringy or chewy (as with many other poke places). It's very clear they take pride in what they do here!
Was missing poke from california and this place did not disappoint. Fish was fresh, and the flavor was brought out nicely and not overwhelmed by the sauce. The host was also kind enough to provide free beverages as well. Overall, a well sized and well thought out lunch bowl.
Love this place! The food portions are generous, fish is fresh quality and the staff are all super kind and welcoming. I highly recommend if you want really good quality salmon bowls
Friendly staff! Spicy tuna poke bowl was delicious and very large portions! Very accommodating and knowledgeable for gluten free as well. Thank you!
I felt compelled to write a review and I don’t do that very often. This place is so yummy! Two things: 1. I love poke bowls but I’m super picky with them so it’s always a risk for me. 2. I ordered delivery and sometimes the travel with poke bowls do not fair well. Well, it was soooo yummy! I got the spicy tuna poke bowl and I highly recommend it. This place deserves to get called out bc they definitely put care into the ingredients. Needless to say, I recommend!
Simple Poke is bar none the best poke in NYC. It’s refreshingly light and perfectly portioned. While it is quite literally simple, the wholeness or shall I say Holiness of a singular bite with all the fixings is wildly complex in flavor and texture. The fish tastes as if it was caught minutes before and scooped aboard the ship and delicately placed in my bowl. The veggies are amazing. The pickled ingredients are brilliant. They load the bowl with ginger as if knowing I have ailments available for solution. There’s a oceanic saltiness to each bite that settles the unknowns of the sea, ultimately landing on one fact: There’s one thing I know: I could eat and live like this every day.
From the outside, it looks like a "hole in the wall" shack...though those type of places are usually the best hidden gems and Simple NYC is no different. What it lacks in size, it makes up in flavor! Had one of the best tuna poke bowls in my life. I wish I took a photo before devouring it...though once I took a bite, I couldn't stop eating. I was honestly expecting restaurant chain quality and was blown away by a bowl under $20 that gives Nobu and Bond St. a run for their money. This place is tiny, so you should order delivery, as opposed to me wandering in. Though what an absolute joy I took a chance. Now it's one of those IYKYK places.
Amazing! Great food and service, they are very receptive!!! Highly recommend!!!
I came here craving a poke bowl and I'm glad I did. It was so good and satisfied my craving. I asked for cooked salmon on mine and it tasted so crisp. I loved the flavor of the seaweed and just everything in it. It's a small space but there is seating. The girl who took our order was nice and attentive. They also have water in the fridge with cups on the table which I liked. The bowl my boyfriend ordered was delicious as well since he ordered raw salmon. Can't wait to come back here.
Wonderful Rose is so kind and she cleaned and fixed my bag when I spilled food on it. Love this place. Thank you
I started coming here when they first opened and the owners won my heart. Even today when I walk in Betty and Kim bring joy, not only to my stomach with there amazing, fresh, made with love food, but with their kind smiles and happy demeanor. Each bowl of Poké is made fresh, with care and attention. Give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.

One of the best Poke spots in the LES. Every grain of rice is finished! Outside of poke the teriyaki bento was delicious - tender chicken with a savory balanced sauce. This humble poke restaurant respects the raw ingredients, and quality comes through in everything. Even the surprise truffle egg salad! Perfect for takeout or a quick bite, you can’t go wrong with this neighborhood staple.
We were looking for a place to get fresh poke bowls and came here due to such great reviews. It did not disappoint. We got one spicy tuna bowl and one miso salmon bowl. Both were great. Next time I'm interested to try the ahi tuna bowl. Be aware there is very limited seating inside.
Great poke bowl. Tried the ahi tuna and tasted fresh, generous variety of ingredients. The portion size is very nice, probably the most I've had from a Poke place. Take out space only.
It is great and delicious poke Bowl I have ever had. The shop is too small, I don't want both to sit there, even though there are cool decor. That's the only thing I complained about.
Usually I don’t eat raw fish, but I find out they do had cooked Bento as well, I did try their beef stew and Octopus Bento, they both amazing to made me keep going back again and again, proportion are big and their price are more then reasonable to fill up your hungry stomach, highly recommended, I gave it two thumbs up!! 👍🏾👍🏾
Such a sweet and cute place! They mainly serve poké and bentos, their prices are average city prices, comparable to other lunch spots. It’s a pretty small place but they manage to fit a little more than ten seats in. There is a lot of adorable and pretty decorations and it has a homey feel. I really liked the design of the shop despite it being a little cramped. The employees are friendly and very nice. I came here specifically to try the poké. They put a lot of care into the presentation of their dishes. I was underwhelmed by the rice in my dish but overall the poké was good and flavored very well.
One of my favorite finds in NYC. The cooked salmon is ridiculously good and very high quality. All the ingredients are fresh and the food presentation is beautiful. The people who work there seem very passionate about the dishes they create and always make sure the customer is happy! It is a smaller place so I typically get take out but it’s definitely worth trying!
I had to fight to finish the spicy tuna poké in one sitting. It took about 9 minutes from when I ordered to when the food was ready. Perfect portion size. The price is right ($11). It is very casual. There are about 10 seats and it feels comfortably cramped. Pictured --> spicy tuna poke and spicy salmon poke.
Quick service, delicious poke and at a fair price. Would recommend if looking for a vegetarian or vegan meal that’s a quick grab and tasty.
Such a nourishing, filling, and delicious meal!! Had the cooked salmon poke bowl and was impressed, even after reading the great reviews. Can only second all of them!❤️
I have ahi tuna perfectly cooked 👍🏻Yummy and super healthy ❤️🩵💜 my son and me loveeeeeee the food here👍🏻
So good I wouldn’t know what more to ask for. We tried the spicy salmon and the chicken poke, and they were both perfect. Highly recommended!

Every dish comes out perfectly executed each time. You'll enjoy good dishes, decent prices and attentive service here. The employees showed authentic care through smiles. The food meets expectations, while the ambiance exceeds them. I'm scheduling my next visit soon.
The whole restaurant operated like a well-oiled machine. This restaurant provides positive mood and attracts nice people. The portions are impressive, and I had leftovers for later! The employees give amazing attention. Thanks for making our night special. And for the attention to detail.
A very small, cozy place with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Only two seats, but you can order for pickup. I tried the cooked salmon ball — it was amazing! Tender, well-balanced, and fresh.

The best so far. Actually pretty damn good. We have been trying different Poke restaurants. Most are just horrible fast food joints. And that ain't good when serving raw fish. Here everything was fresh, rice was properly cooked and flavored, and the sauce just the right amount and flavor to complement all ingredients. Presentation grades above the run-of-the-mill places that dot the landscape. Highly recommended. I just wish there was sitting
The salmon poke was covered in a thick sauce which overpowered the poke but was tasty they gave a lot of rice which was needed to off-set the sauce. Unless I was supposed to mix everything together and I was just eating it wrong. The Ume Soda was delicious. The staff was really nice. The place did have 3 places to sit but if they were full, it would be extremely cramped.

I was super excited to try this poké spot because of all the fantastic reviews, but I was so disappointed by my bowl. The ingredients seemed like they could be super high quality but it was hard to tell because everything was drowning in sauce to the point that there was a visible pool of it forming at the bottom. I ended up having to throw half of it out, and I’m the type of person who absolutely hates throwing out food. At most fast casual poké places, you can usually see what you’re getting or see it assembled in front of you so you can prevent this kind of disaster, but here everything was behind a curtain so I didn’t realize until i was back in my hotel room and it was too late.
The poke is great, but the bowl is impossible to mix, which is an egregious oversight for a lunch bowl place.
I ordered the raw spicy tuna poke bowl with salad base and it was good, but there was way too much sauce. It completely overpowered all the other flavors. Which feels bad because you can tell the whole thing had a lot of thought put into it. I had to pour the sauce out of the bowl as best as I could, but it was already all in the greens. Overall, it was way too sweet. Sauce should maybe come on the side. Edit: typo

The chicken was full of chewy fat, it was greasy and fried. Not healthy, not tasty. Neither my friend or I who bought our lunch there, could eat it. It was greasy and full of white fat. And they don’t pick up the phone.
I’m really not understanding the positive reviews. Maybe they’re bought? The chicken in my bowl was not edible. Half of it was pure fat. It was a chewy texture. I threw my bowl out.
Each bite of the chicken was overly greasy, coated in oil, and the excessive fatty pieces made it difficult to enjoy. The texture was unpleasant, and instead of a crispy, flavorful bite, it felt heavy and overwhelming. It was disappointing and not at all what I expected.
Just had had a gyudon for takeout and I'm really appalled at the portion size. Paid $15.50 for a big bowl of rice and an egg. I really have never had such an appalling size of beef for a gyudon. Adding insult to this bowl was that the meat was clearly frozen for weeks on end. Tasteless and the most awful texture. Maybe it was my fault for getting a gyudon at a poke place but I guess I'll never be back to taste the poke.

Rice is soaked in the sauce. Eww! Not edible! Too sweet and sour like a dessert, portion of protein is small for the price being.
The worst cashier! Very rude for no reason. Didn’t say hello when I walked in. Didn’t look at me when I said hello. When the food was ready she completely ignored it. When I asked her to pass me the food she said that usually the wait is 10-15 minutes. Horrible service! Will never come back
