We have been enjoying TooJay’s for many years and they never disappoint. Today we ordered the Tuna stuffed Tomato $10.99, Pastrami Grilled Cheese on Challah $11.99 and the special of the day called Turkey Pastrami Melt $12.59. Both sandwiches were served with steak cut fries, Cole slaw and a crisp pickle. Each of the meals was ample in size and reasonably priced. The Pastrami Grilled Cheese was very flavorful and the Challah was toasted perfectly. The only thing that could have made this better was if they would chop the Pastrami. The special Pastrami Melt was very very flavorful and we wish it was on the regular menu. We will ask for it again. The stuffed tomato was large, nicely ripe and the tuna was very tasty. Our server today was Jarvis and he was friendly and attentive.
My wife ordered the pick two, matzo ball soup tasted fresh and nicely seasoned, and shrimp salad was light and tastey. I ordered the deli dogs. Two natural skin dogs grilled with pastrami topped with coleslaw and absolutely delicious. Loads of coleslaw accompanied my lunch. Way too much honestly, but it all tasted very good. Upgrade the fries to their onion rings. Toojays onion rings are fantastic. We shared the banana dream layered cake and it was a perfect ending to a great lunch.
We are local here in doctor Phillips and really quite enjoy this restaurant. It is typically not very crowded and a nice and clam atmosphere. Staff is very friendly and the food is very good and comforting. Lots of good deli meat selections, comfort foods, and breakfast here are all very good. The only complaint I have is a lot of the food is very high calorie count and not many options under 1k...might be why it is all so delicious 😂. Definitely recommend this place!
For more than 20 years, my family and I have been regulars at ToJay's. The food quality is consistently high, with a wide variety of dishes that have remained delicious throughout the years. The service is friendly and personal, making each visit enjoyable. It's our go-to spot for its reliable dining experience and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality meals and exceptional service. Solid five stars.
Loved it! You are treated to the sights of some amazing cakes and pastries as you enter. Our server was great- attentive without being overly in your face and checked in with us throughout our meal. The nova Benedict was awesome - eggs cooked perfectly - and the potatoes were very tasty. The mimosa was sparkling but beware you get a lot of fresh chunky bits in the orange juice, but after my first glass I didn't care (lol - hic!) My husband got an egg wrap and it was simple but very tasty. Had a look at the rest of rhe menu and will certainly return for liver & onions, meatloaf, soup,..... ah, the wish list is growing!!
We have been to a bunch of different TooJay’s locations and have always been fans of the restaurant - this is no exception! We came here for Passover dinner recently (they did have a pre-set meal option but we opted to choose our own dishes) and received great food and great service at a very reasonable price! We got a bunch of different things ranging from their famous matzo ball soup, nova latkes, chopped liver and cheese blintzes as appetizers, to the TooJay’s Classic and the beef brisket dip as our entrees. Everything was really good! They always have a really solid corned beef and pastrami sandwich, so I’d always recommend getting The Classic when you come here, the matzo ball soup tasted exactly as it should, and the other appetizers were very satisfying as well. There aren’t too many delis like this in the Orlando area, so it’s nice we have TooJay’s! Check this place out next time you’re in the area!
The Food, The Vibe and The Service we received from Toojay’s and Debra is spectacular. Debra is super friendly. Gave us recommendations. Her service is extremely fast. We are extremely satisfied. Way to go Toojay’s! Please give Debra a Raise! Thank you very much for the amazing experience. We will definitely be coming back here again and again! - Ryan
We’ve known Lisa for years and she has always been great! Very friendly and efficient. She almost knows what we need before we ask. Thank you Lisa!
What a beautiful afternoon to enjoy dining al fresco in the heart of Dr Phillips today. Lisa was great checking in on us and bringing us great food as she has for years.. We love the Thanksgiving options. You have to try the Bellini. They’re pretty good too. Buon Apettito.
Our waitress, Debra was awesome. She was very helpful, attentive, pleasant and totally amazing. This lead to an enjoyable dining experience. Next time we are in town we will revisit and ask for Debra.
Love their matza ball soup. They also have great sandwiches and phenomenal catering. We often order catering of sandwiches, breakfast and dessert trays and it is always plentiful and delicious.
This was my second time dining at TooJay’s, and it was just as great as the first! The food is fantastic and has that classic old-school NYC diner vibe. The pastrami is absolutely delicious, and my wife really enjoyed the liver and onions. Both times I’ve visited, I’ve had the pleasure of being served by Peter. He’s friendly, knowledgeable, and always makes us feel like VIPs. Definitely ask for him when you stop by—he truly elevates the experience. Highly recommend this spot. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
It's always a pleasure having Debra as our server. Food is always amazing, I feel like I am eating my mother's home cooked dinner. Heavily recommended the the mashed potatoes
I have to say. I haven't felt special in a long while...But today I got Debra! She made my day! Not everyone have someone during the Holidays so her kind attention patience and great service made an impact on me! Thank you kindly Debra. Love to see that there is beautiful people around that still love to serve and enjoy it with a big smile.
We had such a wonderful breakfast thanks to our waiter, Ryan. He was incredibly attentive and kind, making sure our group of girls had everything we needed from start to finish. He checked on us often, ensured our food came out just right, and did it all with such a pleasant, friendly attitude. It’s rare to find service this genuine and consistent—Ryan truly made our morning special. Highly recommend asking for him if you want a great experience!
Peter provided excellent service and we greatly appreciate it. He made our Toojays experience pleasant . He was attentive. He filled our drinks quickly without us having to ask. He asked us if we needed anything. He has a great smile and personality. Thank you Peter !!!!
Too Jays is my favorite spot for lunch but they have a fantastic dinner menu as well. Excellent food and outstanding customer service/friendly staff who go above and beyond. I would like to especially commend Debra for her terrific service and cheerful demeanor. Debra and the Too Jays staff make me feel welcome and at home every time I dine here.
Always love going to this restaurant! The food is always great and the service is excellent. It is a deli style restaurant so don't expect anything beyond a bright and airy place to enjoy a meal.
Server was very patient as it took us a long time to decide from the extensive menu. She was helpful and kind. Food is always good. We live some distance away so we cannot visit very often.
TooJays responded promptly to my negative review and so now I am revising and updating. Cara offered me a gift card and invited me to come try them again, which I did yesterday along with my wife. We were greeted the moment we entered and were seated after only a moment's wait. Our server was Debbie, who has served us well several times before, including this one. She was busy but she spoke to all parties, even greeting some of them by name when they entered. The food came quickly and was nice and hot and delicious. I appreciate people and businesses who move quickly to correct things. I'm looking forward to coming again soon.
We love Too Jay’s. Great dining experience and especially excellent service with Lisa. She’s attentive, friendly, fun and just creates a great experience every time we dine at Too Jay’s. This picture is my current favorite! Grilled cheese and delicious tomato soup! Love it!
Corn beef was excellent. I had the 1/2 roast beef sandwich and cup of French onion soup which was great. Would recommend eating here
Our server, Arielle, was wonderful—so friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely be coming back! The food was an absolute 10/10, and the strawberry cake was so delicious I didn’t even think to snap a picture until I was already halfway through. Such a perfect spot for a lunch date
Amazing deli with Jewish culinary classics and the beloved ✨Dr Brown’s Soda✨ The service was fantastic, the food hot and comforting. Genuinely the best pickle I’ve ever had.
First time in this place! Came in w my best friends! The hostess was very friendly and our waitress was superb!!! Now the food, the food was very homie and delicious!!!! It’s a must if you are looking for a nice homie place away from home!!!
Absolutely loved the fast and friendly service! Our waitress was very friendly and didn't over bother us while we ate. I had a drink refill before I needed it and never had to ask for anything. The food was perfect. The sandwich is a little hard to eat, but it tasted so good I didn't care that much. Fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned. We ordered the knish and it was so good we were sad we only ordered one. Definitely our new favorite deli when we come to visit Orlando!
It was my 1st time @ a TooJay’s and I was not disappointed at all. They have a large menu to choose from. Serving breakfast Monday-Fri till 11am and 2pm Saturday & Sunday or their lunch and dinner menu served all day. We had the Avocado toast, the Matzo Ball soup and Corned Beef Hash and Eggs with a Bagel. The soup was not too flavorful, but great portions. The rest of the food was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. They have a large selection of desserts and cookies .

Awesome sandwiches and desserts. Wish we had one in Pensacola Fl.
Delicious! A taste of New York. Matzo ball soup and stuffed cabbage was amazing. Deli style sandwiches were perfect. Definitely will be back!

Our amazing server -Debra-was friendly, professional and extremely helpful with our dinner visit. We traveled directly from the plane (I really wanted the matzo ball soup) and we had the most delightful dinner. We will be back several more times with family for the delicious food and variety of choices you offer.
Our server, Peter, made such a difference. He was very welcoming and kind. I will say he didn’t visit our table much but seeing the true friendship he had with a table that only came for a season each year out a smile on my face. The food was great! I had the improved Deli dogs all the way and they were absolutely delicious. Had a side of onion rings that were really good. Love this place thoroughly!
Consistently great food and exceptional service in Dr. Phillips. We love the homemade soups, the chicken/shrimp/tuna salad sandwiches on fresh rye bread, the turkey dinner, and the Chicken Capri. The homemade bakery items are all unbelievable good. Thanks to Lisa for the friendly and attentive service!
I have been to many TooJay's locations, but this particular one always seems to shine above the others. The pastrami this day was some of the best I've had since I was in New York City. It was juicer and seasoned better than any other TooJay's restaurant' I have been to in the past 6 months. The tuna, chicken and shrimp salads were fresher and more favorable than most of the other locations. The restaurant was busy this day, but the waitresses were keeping up with every table.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Orlando!!! We are regulars there. The staff is always friendly, and portions are huge! We always take food home! 90% of the time I order liver n onions with mashed tarors n gravy, with broccoli and salad with blue cheese! Liver n onions taste amazing! The atmosphere is always comfortable! Prices are as they should be! Fair dollar for the portion s. I have tried just about everything on the menu. The only thing I don't care for is the smoked salmon.
We visit Too Jays often. Love the food, love the atmosphere and the service is amazing. We always ask to sit in Lisa’s section! She is the best! Friendly, funny, and is always ready with more coffee , tea, etc. She now knows exactly what we want before we even ask for it. Absolutely wonderful experience with Lisa and the entire Too Jays staff. Five stars all around.
TooJay’s is one of our “go to” lunch destinations in Dr Phillips. We probably go 3-4 times a month. TooJays has an excellent variety on the menu. The new extension of brunch to 2 pm has been especially pleasing to some of our party that love breakfast no matter the time. Food quality is a strong point. Soups (you have to try the beef and cabbage), salads, sandwiches are all great and include many of the traditional NYC deli classics and favorites. Breakfast also is varied and we’ve never had a bad choice. Service is quick and friendly. Many of the servers have been here since we started visiting (our favorite is Mackenzie) and provide the attention and friendly service others would love to emulate. If you’re looking for a great breakfast or lunch in a friendly informal setting, give TooJay’s a try.
We arrived as a group of over ten people. The waitress was incredibly welcoming and didn’t hesitate to accommodate our large party. She was both efficient and organized, and she even remembered our drinks. I ordered a pastrami burger, which was delicious and cooked to my liking. The kid’s meal was generous and tasty, consisting of a hotdog with French fries, a cup of grapes, and a cookie. Overall, I recommend this restaurant.

Great food great atmosphere I really love a delicatessen that serves more than just what you expect them to have. This was my first visit when I received my food it wasn't exactly what I ordered. My server Jean thought it was necessary to disagree and argue with me. The manager came out they made sure our meal was fixed the way it was ordered. From that point Jean didn't check on us or offer drink refills. She quickly passed by and slapped the bill on the table without saying a word. On my way out I spoke to the manager about her unprofessional behavior. He was apologetic and sympathetic to the situation while being very professional. Jean receives -1 star the reastraunt receives 5 stars the very welcoming host and manager did a great job.
My co-worker wanted a good Reuben sandwich and I looked up New York delicatessen and this came up on Google Guides as a good place to eat. We were not disappointed. The Rachels' (a Reuben with both pastrami and corned beef) were huge and flavorful. The steak fries fresh, hot. We got some fresh cookies to go from their bakery. Their cakes look amazing, but we were way too full. The only knock was service was slow. I think they just were confused on who had what table. Once they got it figured out everything was fine. Manager came over to speak with us. Very nice. Not too far off Sand Lake and Dr Phillips.
Went during lunch. Atmosphere was friendly. Resto was clean. Ordered the brisket dip. Sandwich was ok. Service was excellent. Prices are moderate.
We used to eat at TooJay's in The Villages, Florida, but they went out of business. When we saw there was one in Orlando we had to check it out. Service was not great, we ordered Matzo ball soup but after 20 minutes we realized our server had planned to serve it not as an appetizer, but along with our sandwiches, even though we asked to have the soup first. The food was very good, not great but definitely good. The soup had lots of chicken and the matzo balls were good. My Rachel Sandwich and my wife's brisket sandwich were well prepared and the servings were huge. I was happy that they had Cel Ray soda, which I had missed a lot. I would definitely return. This is a good deli with good quality food. Perhaps our server was just having an off day, it certainly wasn't the end of the world.
A very casual diner setting was immediately elevated by our waitress, Debbie. She was fast, observant and always ready. It was a pleasure being under her care. The beef liver was a bit on the tough side but still extremely nice considering most menus don't offer this dish. The chicken Capri was some of the most tender chicken I've ever had at a resturant, with the artichoke and capers blending with the right amount of punch and mushrooms to smooth it out. The "Classic Comforts" menu came with some rye bread and our choice of soup or salad. With the big portions, we were fully satisfied with a to-go box to top it off.

Terrible service and manager did not care. Order was not what I ordered. When asked for it to be corrected, there was no concern that it was wrong to begin with.

Been here plenty of times. There is plenty of competition on Restaurant Row and this restaurant is losing it's charm and character. Sandwiches is the way to go for most Toojays and The soups are usually good as well. But when you order an entree you over pay for a sub-par quality. This particular experience the server was very stoic, And not very talkative. Daughter ordered the kids hamburger, which was dry. Ordered two soups which were good. Wife had the Chicken Capri which was ok, simply drowned in some white glaze. This dish should be listed at $13 not $17. On again was just ok. I ordered the Pastrami Burger which was juicy, but lacked simple salt seasoning, and the fries were ok as well. On an unusual side note we ordered club soda (soda water) , and there was this taste of mold. Not sure if this was from the ice or the soda water line. I do not think we will returning. Unless im really craving a Ruben.
I am a tourist and come to TooJay each visit(Nov 7). This time I ordered a Reuben ($14.99). It had more sauerkraut than corned beef and I did not see any dressing. The fries were hard and the coleslaw is an extra charge now: $4.39. Although I was disappointed in the food, I didn’t complain to the waitress(she was nice and attentive). I expected quality but this meal missed the mark.
I've always heard about TooJay's from My Wife and how much she loved the place unfortunately there's none near where we live anymore. So as we're on our second honeymoon I look to see if there are any in the Orlando area and I found this one and surprised her with it. She was happy. But unfortunately when you walked in at this location it reeked like a men's room. Make me not really want to eat here. Turns out the men's room have some kind of issue with it and it was messy and the whole floor was wet. The food here was okay bit pricey. When we are leaving looked at the display case where the cakes were and where they keep the chicken salad egg salad and other salads like that notice how dirty it was and that the door was opened by a good quarter of an inch. I'm not sure if I'm not coming back or not to this location
We just drove to this location all the way from St. Cloud to get the Banana Dream cake because I tried it at work during someone's birthday and it was really yummy. So I wanted to purchase one for my birthday. Well we took the trip and as soon as we walked in we could tell the customer service was not on point. There was someone waiting at the Host station. We stood in front of the bakery items waiting for help. I will say the lady that helped us was pleasant and helpful. She was blonde wearing a red shirt. We wanted to purchase the whole cake but it was already cut into. There were 3 slices which made up the whole cake. So the manager told the lady that they couldn't sell us the whole cake because they still have mobile orders coming through...so lock the item on mobile ordering because I would like to purchase the slices and the cake as a whole. The manager wanted to sell it to me by the slice which 3 slices came to 31 something when the whole cake is 34. So of course she have in and just sold me the rest. So in the end I was happy with my cake. Now we also wanted the Qt. Of Motza Ball soup. Its not even filled to the top...I paid 16 for that too. I was really excited to try other things from the business but now because of the service I dont think I will take the drive. The customer behind me got told the person to make sandwiches just got there so they had to wait. The other two employees just left talking amongst themselves while walking out saying well I guess they will just have to wait! How unprofessional. No eye contact, no greeting, no paring remark from anyone but the nice lady in red. It seems that no one really cares here. Sorry but the only reason I would recommend this place is the cake, and I haven't even eaten it yet. Hopefully its as good as the last time. We'll. I just ate a slice and it was "Chefs 💋 " yummy in my tummy. So the quality of the food is good but the customer service needs a revamp. Need new employees. Hire the right people.
Great ambiance and wonderful staff. Food was average. We tried their sandwiches and they have generous portions which compensate for their prices. They have diverse selections of desserts. Overall,…

Took and hour and 15 minutes to finalize our meal. Had to wait 15 minutes to be seated and there were 2 people in the place. A total of 8 people were there during our stay... Tried this as was recommended.... Better to go to Kikis.

Went to this restaurant Saturday it wasn't very crowded we waited over 10 minutes and was not seated. No hostess in sight girl behind the counter said twice someone will be with you we finally left…
The worst hot pastrami sandwich I've ever had, like rubber, I could not eat this thing so stiff and chewy
Update: Had the stuffed cabbage and i guess they Sunday Chef must’ve been a line cook. The meat used to stuff the cabbage was hard as a rock (after heating); the sauce was not sweet but bitter and the cabbage did not seemed cooked. I even had to wonder if they gave me the meal uncooked. It was a take out order from Sunday. —- The only place where you can get liver in the area. But can’t say it was comparable to New York. Even the chop liver was mediocre at best. The grilled liver with onions was on the very thin side. Bagels also limited and the stuffed Cabbage I haven’t tasted yet. Quite fancy price for the quality.
I was on my lunch break so I didn’t have a lot of time and I literally stood at the hostess stand for a good five minutes before somebody crawled over. I ordered the matzoh ball soup and the broth was salty. I had the brisket sandwich that was ok but Waitress was lousy. Couldn’t even get my check so that I could leave she just kept going from table to table. I had to repeatedly ask for my check. Finally I got up and just went to the Register where they sell the deli food and she said no I couldn’t pay there. I have to get it from my waitress so finally she gave me the check like I was bothering her. I will never eat there again.
