Opinions de Rosalind Bakery Pacifica
Introduced to Rosalind Bakery by a café in SF that uses their sourdough bread for the sandwich and I loved it. Came to Pacifica from the city just for Rosalind and wasn't disappointed. I got a breakfast sandwich which was a bit on the heavy side but it was very tasty, the bread was fantastic and the egg nicely cooked. Took home a ham and cheese croissant, which is delicious; and a half loaf of walnut bread, which has great texture but I do feel like it's a bit pricy at $6 for just half loaf. Overall they've got some good bread and pastries but I don't think it's worth the trip from the city.
Best, local croissant in town. Roslind Bakery. It's also a nice place to hang out. On the weekends they even have live music. But they are more than just a croissant and music, may or also the best local Bakery for artisan breads, sandwiches, and small meals. Excellent coffee as well. Other offerings of locally made items of quality nature. Clean inside and out, including the bathroom. Easy to find with lots of parking in the Pacific Manor Shopping Center in upper Pacifica. I love Rosalind Bakery, you will too!
I've always loved the bread that Matt has made! The bread is really good and wholesome. It may be on the pricier side, but it's because there owner actually likes for his employees to have a reasonable wage. The food served here is also very good! The photo I included with this review its the grilled cheese with an egg. While it may look strange due to its red hue, the flavor was delicious! The mocha i also got was a really good example of a tasty mocha coffee. 10/10 will still continue to shop here and support this great local business but also still continue to recommend to other!
The best bakery for sourdough bread in Pacifica and Daly City. I came across Rosalind 3 days ago through an article that listed Rosalind Bakery in their top 10 list in the entire Bay Area. A bakery in my backyard and I had no clue about it, this I had to investigate. I placed an online order for their 60/40 sourdough, followed by their soup of the day, a vegan lemongrass sweet potato soup that comes with a side of, you know, what else, but some sourdough. The order was ready within 15 minutes, and parking in the outdoor strip mall complex is plenty. I was greeted with a warm smile by Nick Gonzalez, who made the experience 5 stars. While picking up, I started chatting with him about pizza - and yes they have pizza available with a focaccia base on weekends. Note to self - go there on a weekend to try their pizza. Nick mentioned his favorite is the Coastside sourdough that his family loves (this is your classic sourdough loaf), and his ultimate go-to is the Rye Sesame (12% pumpernickel rye flour sourdough with toasted sesame seeds, not just outside, but on the inside as well!). I left my wallet in the car, so Nick offered me half a loaf at no cost. Who does that? So grateful I got to try it. Both the loaves (or is it loafs) are crunchy on the outside and super soft on the inside. I asked Nick about the 'sweetness' in the description and he confirmed there is no sugar added. Any sweetness is natural. TBH I couldn't taste any sweetness. I really like the bread. It's rich, decadent, you feel like a French royal, who was fortunate enough to get the best pain a la sourdough. This has the promise to beat Tartine. I preferred my bread toasted, with a dip of simply high quality astringent cold-pressed greek single estate olive oil. And on some bites, add a little extra sharp cheddar. The soup was flavorful and a perfect dip for the sourdough slices that accompany it. With carrots, and a luscious emulsion of lemongrass creamy goodness (the creaminess from sweet potatoes). Spiced just right, to let the subtle flavors dance on your palette. Rosalind checks all the boxes to become my go-to bakery. They sell out soon, so head there in the AM. And if you meet the wonderful Nick, say hello and get a taste of what every bakery should aspire to be.
Cute little place to get breakfast in Pacifica. I especially love their breads and seasonal Danish. Tip I would give for customers is go there as soon as they open because they run out of stuff super fast
Amazing bakery! Best pastry case in the bay. Cold brew is delicious. Staff very friendly. Highly recommend! :)
Excellent sourdough bagettes. Pizza is a hot seller. They sometimes have live music.
Everything we tried was delicious - chocolate croissant, bread, veggie sandwich of the day& egg sandwich, cookies. I loved the pimento cheese on the egg sandwich just wish I could have added some avocado or bacon! This plane is worth the drive from SF! I wish we had bought some extra cookies!
What an amazing bakery! The quality of the products are really unique and the quality of the serivice is fantastic. What a hidden gem!
Great local bakery -- when you go there, I highly recommend getting baked goods
Exceptional artisinal breads, pastries, 'walking cinnamon sugar bread sticks', cookies, coffee and sauerkraut. They even have pizza dough and seed bread (a personal favorite every weekend). Rosalind knows bread and bakes love into every loaf. Only the very best ingredients too baked by the best people. A weekly ritual in our family. Go early and get yours before they sell out.
Everything I put in my mouth was delicious. But that's not what's amazing about this place. The owner has a bookshelf that is as well put together for any single subject as I've ever seen. They are definitely a master of their craft. Highly recommend.
My friend's favorite bakery who is a local there. Now it becomes my favorite as well. Her favorite is the morning bun, while my favorite is the chocolate almond croissant. The best of both worlds lol. The pastry is a bit pricey on my standard, but it is worth splurging here and there. The crispiness and flakiness of the pastry are what set their pastry apart.
We've had the bread several times before finding out we could go to the bakery. Service was great. The bread is the very best - but we've now discovered the pastries. Yikes - thank goodness they're a little bit of a drive for us - so we don't make them a daily habit. They are sooo good. Best Almond poppyseed muffin, best almond croissant and a great choc croissant!! Our new coffee shop in Pacifica.
Walked in without hunger or need for bread, lured in by the muffins in the window display. And boy, am I glad we did. We got the olive loaf and the brown sugar poppyseed muffin, and all I can say is that I’m going to be thinking of that muffin for a long time. We live in SF and there is no shortage of great bakeries in our neighborhood, but we might have to drive down to Pacifica soon just to visit Rosalind’s again. The texture, moisture, and sweetness level of the muffin is unmatched. Well worth the (somewhat hefty) price.
Nondescript bakery with huge production of breads, baked items. Again, you pay for quality. Great coffee, nice touches of art. They have a small table of day old bread. The secret is to spray the bread with a bit of water and heat up the bread before eating, at home. This brings out all the spirits of heavenly bread: the aroma, the warmth, the labor of the dough, the aroma of yeast rising, before you break the daily bread.
The most amazing rye bread. Enjoyed every slice of it. Sweet pastry was good too but bread was the best. Nice and helpful people too.
Such a cute space! Staff was so kind and friendly. We loved the loaf of bread we got, the vegan seeded bread slice was delicious and the drip coffee and decaf latte with oat milk were so good! Will definitely be back
Great service. Unassuming in shopping plaza but quality bakery. Apple Danish flaky and not overly sweet. Lemon croissant puff was nice and tangy.
I was first introduced to this place from my friend. She was raving about their millet muffins. I've never had one before, and I thought it sounded interesting. Since then, I've had it a bunch of times and just recently had it warm, right out of the oven... it's so good! It has that nutty crunch without being a nut. The place is cute. It's a nice place to sit and catch up with friends. There's seating outdoors too, so you can bring your furry friends. I haven't had their coffee, but my friend liked their cappuccino. I'll have to try their other pastries and menu items next time.
I took a class at the mill in San Francisco and they recommended Rosalind bakery. My friend and I ordered a bunch of breads. We had croissant and chocolate croissant, savory danish and a blue corn cookie. Everything was so delicious and their coffee was good too had a good time chatting with the owner and was impressed by how he started the business out of passion. I definitely recommend this place to everyone in the Bay Area. It’s a very chill vibe and fun place to have breakfast because you get to see how people work in a bakery and enjoy the view from Pacifica.
I found this place thanks to the reviews and I loved it. I had a mushroom pizza bread for brunch, which was delicious, very filling and only about $7! I also shared a chocolate croissant because I couldn’t leave without trying the pastries and it was also yummy. They have a bunch of caffeinated and non-caffeinated drinks. I drank a capuchino and it was good. The atmosphere is nice, and it has seating options both inside and outside (in front of the parking lot). The is music a bit loud for working and I wanted to dance to the cumbias they were playing haha. It gets pretty busy around lunch time during weekdays, but most people didn’t dine in. The service was great, and they have clean restrooms. I can’t wait to go back and try more pastries and bread.
I stopped by this place, which stands out for its wide variety of fresh, high quality baked goods. This time, I tried the almond croissant crispy, fresh, and truly delicious. I paired it with a well made cortado. Overall, a very pleasant experience and definitely worth returning to.
Excellent coffee shop/bakery i’ve been stopping by there almost every time I’m in that neighborhood for coffee and pastry, and a loaf of bread I love the French bread baguette they might charge a little more, but they make excellent bread plus take a good look at the neighborhood you are in . They have a really nice shop! and I believe they have another location at Embarcadero four San Francisco
Great selection of pastry and breads! The garlic mushroom savory is delicious!
Gorgeous, bright, clean bakery with so many tasty sweet and savory options you’ll have a hard time choosing. Seasonal orange blossom latte was a unique and delicious flavor choice, and also bought the classic croissant, ham and cheese croissant, and the ricotta toast which was phenomenal.
My favorite bakery in Pacifica thus far. Their hearty breads are EXCELLENT, and their pastries are superb… my favorites are the kouign-aman and the almond croissant. Can’t wait to try more.
Excellent pastries and a great baguette to take to the beach. Casual/ industrial environment with rock music playing in the background and skateboards on the walls.

Visited for the first time after seeing it on 'Check Please'. Got great help from the lady at the counter, purchased a nice big sampler. Much of their baked goods were gone by the time we got there at 1.30pm, but we got half a dozen different items.
Very nice coffee and bakery shop at pacifica. We found it ehrn we look for coffee and bakery shop nearcpacifica pier. We stopped by on the way to see whale at the pier. The complex was kind of empty. The shop is pretty large with in house bakery. The also has store at the SF. There are plenty of coffee and pastries options and we ordered Latte, matcha, and almond croissant. I wish they serve the drink using ceramic cup instead of paper cup. Latte, matcha and croissant are good. Looks like they are famous with pizza. They also has other type of croissant.
Stopped by because my usual spot (Perfect Pour Cafe) in Pacifica was closed. It was a cute spot with lots of seating, parking, and bathrooms. We got some coffee and pastries. The coffee was okay-I didn’t hate it, but I wouldn’t order Vietnamese coffee here again, but I did like their cappuccino. The pastries were delicious! We tried their cinnamon morning roll and a chocolate chip cookie. I also ordered a piece of pizza and asked if they can warm it up (which was an awkward interaction for me because the service was not the best), but the pizza was delicious. My pizza did have sesame seeds which was a bit of a surprise. Overall, I think it was a good place for baked goodies.
Oh man, I'm broken, I'm split, I'm divided, I'm crushed, I'm polarized. What's not to like about a bakery that's a 15 minute walk along the Pacifica cliffs? A beautiful way to start your day, that it is, my friend. A place where friendly waiters with heart framed glasses await your order and shower you with friendly ease as you make eye contact. A resting spot that exudes the industrialism of your local baker is a gentle reminder that while you were sleeping, squinting your eyes open for another gorgeous day on the Coast, here the busy workers were getting ready to get you ready. I recently moved to the area and came to buy bread on a Sunday: a microdough, considering there's only one stomach at my new place. Some comments here complain that the crust was burnt and hard, and the inside lacked sourdough-ness. I beg to disagree. My crust was perfect as pictured. And it's true the flavor was not overflowing with sour notes, and that worked for me. My eye caught a lonesome kouign-amann next to the cash register. I'm a sucker for kouign-amann, which also makes me a bit of a connoisseur. I was hesitant because of the yellowish dot but figured that maybe it's just an adventurous spin on the real thing. Oh how my heart sank! Sacrilege! This is no adventure, this is bringing the honorable kouign-amann down to donut hell! Cream filling! Oh my ... Please rename the "thing" or have a real, true to its origin, kouign-amann in addition. But this ... Non, mais alors quel gâchis ! Last word: it's a bit pricey.

The breads and pastries are all epic, and it's a bright open atmosphere. Much better than Starbucks because it's a small local business run with love and local ingredients. The clerk didn't seem to know much, however, but perhaps she is new and it was near the end of their day. You should definitely go there to work on your computer and have Grandma Rosalind's breadstuffs and the tuneric latte!
Pastries and food items are on point. Coffee, however, needs work. $5.50 for a flat white and the barista had no idea what a flat white actually was. After ordering, I asked how tall the flat white was here given it tends to vary most places; to which the young girl responded it’s equal parts to the espresso..? That would be a macchiato, so I let her know usually it’s closer to a he size of a cappuccino to which she replied (sweetly but) cluelessly that she could make that too. I said never mind and just waited. The flavor was super bitter. Even for a dark roast, espresso coupled with that much milk should not have the flavor of being borderline burnt. My partners’ iced mocha literally just tasted like milk and water with some flavor of something. Bummer, especially at such a high price.

quant and cozy bakery in pacifica, a good place to stop by before a hike. pastries do the job but nothing top tier. skip the coffee. loved the atmosphere and live music on sundays!! ham & cheese croissant: forgettable but decent asparagus ricotta danish: unique combo that worked well but pastry tasted a bit stale
Waited over 20 minutes for a single slice of pizza. Saw at least 6 people that came after me leave. Then it was warmed too much it was practically rubber. I wasn’t even offered a pastry for my waiting… just a smile and “thanks for your patience”
Decent enough baked goods. They need to work on the customer service though. Clerk that sold me the goods seemed moody and confused and insisted I need to tap my card the second time because the first time didn't work. Both taps ended up getting charged to my card.
I really didn’t like the loaf of sourdough i brought home. Opened the bag, and the crust was extremely tough and burnt. I tried the inside and it was soft enough, but in my opinion did not taste sour at all. It just tasted like wheat bread. This was my first time here because my usual place closed already. Not sure if it was because i came in the evening. Nonetheless, the crust was burnt and tough. Plus it was $14, so that was disappointing.

Months ago I would have given this sourdough bread 10 stars! However, something has dramatically changed in the recipe or technique because the loaves are tasting more and more ordinary. I hope the owner reads this and brings the bar back up, before the loyal clientele catches on. They really had something special. Please bring the magic back!
Baked goods are amazing. Some of the best in the Bay Area. The service is the worst, they are painstaking slow. Be prepared to wait 20 minutes for a slow counter person to spend 3 minutes on each customer in line. No sense of urgency or awareness of the line.
most mediocre hot chocolate and coffee that I bought. I asked for no whip creme but half a cup was filled with whipped cream or foam. service was ok but not the taste of the drinks neither the quantity. I wouldn't go there again. 2 rating is still generous for that taste
