Brisket is really good. Service is even better!
We have been going here for years. Love to support a local family business. I love the Sadie potato. Best BBQ baked potato I’ve ever had! My husband loves the Jumbo Texan sandwich. We live about 30 minutes away now but still make the drive when we want BBQ!
Polite, welcoming, and hidden treasure are just a few ways I'd describe Jambos! The only constructive criticism I could give is the fried okra had 0 seasoning on it. Definitely needed salt and pepper. Now, the fries were seasoned so this could've just been an oversight. BBQ sauce in regular, sweet, and spicy. Great prices for wonderful food. We'll be back when we are in the area.
Best turkey hands down!! Super juicy! Ribs and brisket was delicious as well. Staff very friendly. Glad I stumbled across this joint!!
Best service and food! Will definitely be going back!!!
Love this place!! The best BBQ you'll ever eat!!! The Jambo's Texan sandwich is the absolute best!!! Saw Jambo's on the Texas Bucket List went there immediately & have been eating there ever since. I refuse to eat BBQ from anywhere else! TRY IT YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!! They need bumper stickers that say I ❤❤❤ JAMBO'S BBQ I'd totally put one on my car that doesn't have any bumper stickers on it!! LOVE LOVE LOVE ME SOME JAMBO'S BBQ!!!!
Can I just say wow. This place is amazing I'm from out of state and if this is Texas bbq this has to be the best I had the beef brisket and it was amazing, and the ribs have to be best I've had the dry rub they use is incredible, you don't want to use bbq sauce in the ribs, and finally the potato well what can I say it is a big as Texas and loaded to the max with smoked meats. This is a must go place
Now this is a solid bbq joint. Jambo's sides made up for the fancy taste of price. If you can justify $20 bucks for some good meat, it will be better than any chain bbq around Dallas/Fort Worth. Don't let the area throw you off, the bbq sauce alone is worth the stop. Pulled pork, ribs, or brisket were all juicy and full of flavor. You can't go wrong with the baked potato either. Amazing pinto beans, "God Loving Texas Boy" I have no idea what you're talking about on your review!
Great BBQ! No sauce needed! Smoke flavor is on point! Brisket burnt ends are candy! Cowboy corn is nail hitter replacement for a country western style elote! Pinto beans were great especially with the chopped brisket dipped in them, I like to mix things. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back!
By far the best BBQ in Arlington that new and the wife live to eat at. Great price and great cuts of meat.
I was able to ponder upon a great little gem today! Jambo’s BBQ did not disappoint! I was raised around a family that loves to BBQ and are rather competitive when it comes to the flavor and texture of the meat. Upon walking in I was greeted and able to have a quick chat about some local favorites. I chose to try my two favorite meats brisket and ribs. Both meats were flavorful and tender. The ribs were fall of the bone delicious! I also tried the cowboy corn which was amazing!! This place is a MUST try!!
What a terrific place for some down home BBQ. The stuffed bake potatoes are enormous. What a great bargain. The spicy sauce is my favorite. Don’t forget the pickles. The peach cobbler great. Stop for lunch or dinner. This is a great new find.
This place was on POINT!!!! Me and a coworker stopped here to eat and everything we got was amazing. It’s hard to find a place where the meat is tender. This place you could cut into the meat with the plastic fork. Didn’t even need a knife. Amazing food. Highly recommend trying.
Honestly I'm not a big BBQ person but Jambos has been a personal favorite for as long as I can remember. Amazing employees, (especially Gabby, she was very patient and professional) friendly atmosphere, and truly worth my money every time. They have a very delicious menu, so many great options. Definitely would recommend to family and friends!
March 2021. My most recent visit was a let down. I ordered a pull pork sandwhich and was served a sandwhich with big chunks of meat instead. They didn't take the time to make it the correct way. Manager says she will replace ****previous review 3yrs ago **** Everything i got was so good. Ribs pulled pork fries cowboy corn and a stuffed pepper. I don't know what is in the pepper but it's heavenly. The sauce i love!!! It is sweet which I know not everyone loves with their Q so that's a heads up.
Upon entering, you order at the counter, but the food is brought to your table. The meats are amazing, with a choice of 3 bbq sauces -bbq sweet and spicy. All are delicious. As an added bonus, their sides are also fantastic! This is some of the BEST BBQ we have had in Texas. Don't miss this when you are near the stadiums.
Jambo's is just awesome! It's a small family owned BBQ place. Nothing fancy, but the food is outstanding! My favorite is the 2 meat, with okra and cowboy corn! Their sweet tea is pretty great too! 😋 Try them out! You'll be glad you did! ❤️
Great as always. Took my sister from out of town here for some great BBQ!!!
The food is amazing and their BBQ sauce might be even better. They have sweet, regular, and spicy. I like mostly sweet and a light layer of spicy. My wife is not a big BBQ fan, but she loves their loaded brisket baked potato. I always go sausage and sliced brisket. Their sides are good and definitely add to the meal, but are not the star of the show. Overall it's delicious food at a reasonable price, what more can you ask for?
First time visitor, and we will be back! I couldn't decide on what meat to get, so ordered the Texan sandwich. Didn't even make it halfway through there was so much stacked in it! The other winner at our table was the Sadie potato. If you don't split it with someone, you will have leftovers. Staff was so friendly while we were eating. Found out they make their own sausage and it is wonderful!
Fabulous brisket, sauce, service, sides, value. What more could you want? Let me start by saying that I love the building -- a great bit of local history, a stopping-point on the Bankhead Highway, route traveled by many historical figures. In its current incarnation as Jambo's Barbecue, the food and service do great credit to the location's tradition. Other reviewers have praised this place, so I'll keep this simple and just say -- I agree!
The chopped brisket was delicious. There have various sauces to choose from and the original sauce was excellent. The okra and mac & cheese was great as well.
Not only was the staff super helpful and friendly, but the food was BEYOND amazing. You cannot beat these prices! We called around to 6 different BBQ restaurants and couldn't beat these prices, and they probably couldn't beat the deliciousness! We'll be back, thank you all so much!
This place looks, feels, and tastes like home town BBQ - in the best way possible! I got the Pambo (fully loaded fries), and I was impressed with the size of the plate for the price and the layers of flavors. The BBQ sauce wasn't too sweet or too acidic - right in the middle where I prefer it. I will definitely come back and try something else, which I'm sure will be just as good.
Whenever I'm in Arlington TX, I'm sure to stop by Jambos. The best baked potatoes ever!! Im always intending to try something else on the menu. I get to the baked potato with all the stuff on it including bbq sauce and beans and that's as far as I get! I wasn't sure about the beans on it the first time I tried it but it works. And it's huge. Enough for 2 meals.
We've tried Jambos BBQ before but it was a to-go meal ordered by someone else. This was our first visit inside. We ordered the 1 Meat 1 Side Kid's Meal with Chopped Beef & Mac n Cheese, Pulled Pork Sandwich, and the 4 Ribs 2 Sides Rib Plate. The ribs were very good. They have 3 BBQ sauce flavors: original, sweet, and spicy. I liked both original and sweet sauces.
Why have we waited so long to try this place out!!!!!! We had the chopped sandwiches and they were huge and SO GOOD!!!!! My wife had to get a box for her leftovers. I also tried a bacon wrapped jalapeño and my tongue is numb. Lol. It also very tasty. We will be back again. The gentleman working the counter was very nice and fun to talk to.
I visit Texas to visit family and friends every so often and I genuinely wish I had known of this place earlier. The Mac and cheese is absolutely an immediate favorite, and the brisket was divine. I had their jalapeno sausage, burnt ends, and cowboy corn as well, all amazing and memorable, but the brisket and Mac and cheese were some of the best I've had. They aren't too expensive either and their desserts are a perfect end to an amazing meal. I will come back every time I get the chance from now on.
Amazing food!! I am so happy that I found this hidden gem. I am usually not a brisket fan and got it for my bf. Lol he had to share because the burnt ends and chopped brisket are seasoned very well and they are delicious. Jalapeño sausage is on point. The mac and cheese is yummy comfort food and the cowboy corn is like a creamy non spicy elote. Definitely coming back. We had the banana pudding too and its good. No complaints!
A Texas Must-Stop for BBQ - The Jalapeño Poppers are Legendary! (5/5 Stars) I was visiting the area and my host was kind enough to bring home some Jambo's BBQ—and I am so glad they did! We had both the Brisket and the Jalapeño Poppers, and both were absolutely amazing and full of authentic Texas flavor. The brisket was tender, smoky, and had a great bark. However, I highly, highly recommend the Jalapeño Poppers. They were truly exceptional—some of the best I have ever had. They were perfectly prepared and a huge highlight of my trip. If you are in the Arlington area, Jambo's BBQ is definitely worth a stop. You will get some really great BBQ and those phenomenal poppers! I can't wait to visit again next time I'm in Texas.
10 out of 10 yall. Most recommend hunnie!!! Food was delicious even without the BBQ sauce. Yall know that rare. The service was great! Very welcoming and friendly. And the atmosphere was super clean. Going back again and AGAIN🤏🏽🤏🏽🤏🏽🤏🏽
Good barbecue for the price. Ribs n Jalapeño sausage with a spicy sauce was great. The beans and mac n cheese got devoured pretty quickly. Nothing goes better with it than a Big Red! They don't slack on the onions pickles and peppers! Recommend.

Very good food, staff, environment. A must experience! Thank you so much for a great experience.

CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! Run, don't walk. The BBQ here is so so good and is exactly why Texas is know for its barbecue. In the words of my husband, "This brisket melts in your mouth like cotton candy" Everything was fantastic, from the food to the people. Definitely worth the stop!
It was Labor Day and one of the only places opened. Graciously fed us but they were out of quite a few things....we walked in 30 minutes to close but never felt rushed.
I went in and ordered the Jambo Texan. This thing was fantastic! Now let me tell you this first...Don't plan on finishing this monster in one sitting. If you're able to do this then more power to ya' champ! The meat was well seasoned and properly cooked. I enjoyed the beans as well. The potato salad was the standard potato salad sold here in TX. I would say that the BBQ here is above average. Stop on by and get you some of this!
Hi peeps. Joy to the world, the smoke has come, let earth receive, it's king. Of bbq smoke that is. Merry Christmas and a Happy New RIB. I said it. The luscious aroma of real wood smoke over savory meats your thing? Then Jambos is the spot if you are anywhere in the DFDub. Historic Division in Arlington. Went with my brodi to look at an S550 he just has to have. Got a tummy grumble that only bbq could address. Slide on over to Jambos. Saw some pics in a review that looked tempting. I got a mountain of peppery sausage on what had to be the best toasted bun ever a bun was prepped. The meat was pure pork heaven, and the bun... soft, but with a goldeny, buttery, crispy layer of caramalized goodness that brought it to another level. Side of fried okra rounded out the meal. Kept it simple because it was my first time here. Well worth a pin on my map. Jambos is now my spot when in Aggtown looking for smokey, mouth pleasing bbq. The people greeted me, checked on me to see if I enjoyed my meal.. Great service is part of a great experience. Could use some butcher paper or parchment to line the tray to give it a better bbq joint flair. Felt like my food was put on a serving tray. Okra could use one of those red lined plastic baskets, or just line the trays. It cheapened the plating, the eye appeal. The ketchup was watery. Presentation is a part of how you increase appetites, or kill them. Overall, this was 5 star food, but really need to tighten up the finishing touches. We have a ton of top tier restaurants in the DFW. If your prices match the spots that look finished, then elevate your game to match.
Quite joint with clean tables and restrooms. Bottled beer and fountain drinks. Sauce is good and I liked the pulled pork, sausage, corn and green beans. the meat overall should be better. The sausage shouldn’t be cut until ordered, it dries out. Also don’t serve meat that it is hard and burnt.
I eat a lot of BBQ - I also smoked a lot of BBQ myself. Jambo's BBQ shack is actually pretty good for the quality for your buck. I have had better but if you want a decent BBQ meal for a price that matches the quality this is the place for you! I got the sliced brisket with stuffed Jalapenos peppers. The service was quick and friendly, no complaints there at all. The peppers were very good and one of the best I have had! But the big test... The brisket - the brisket was average. There was a good smoke ring which is what I want to see when I open up my plate. The brisket was under cooked just a tad, which is typical with a lot of BBQ joints due to the convenience of slicing. You don't want it to be over cooked because it gets annoying when trying to slice or eat and it's just falling apart. There was a very mild smoke taste, not over bearing but definitely enough to taste. The BBQ sauce was an average homemade sauce that isn't anything to write home about, it was a little too sweet for my likings. Where this place gets a homerun is the price to quality ratio. I will be going back to this place in the future if it continues to be this good. Overall it's an above average BBQ joint - much better then some of its competitors around that area but not the best in the metroplex.
They have very good Bar B Que. You cannot go wrong with The Sadie baked potato. It is SO GOOD! And at least 2 days to eat it
Delicious BBQ ribs & jalapeno sausage, great cole slaw & the corn is tasty as well. Clean & friendly, although it is a bit run down, but if you're into the hole in the wall type establishment, it's all good for eating inside.
First time trying out Jambos BBQ and I can say the ribs were 5 Star worthy! By far our favorite part of our meal. We also had brisket and jalapeño sausage and both were very good also. Working our way through the menu. Also loved that they have Big Red on fountain drink. Loved Big Red growing up. Excellent service, very friendly staff. Next I'm trying a sandwich one im off my Keto week🤣

This was our second time eating at this location. The first was pre-Covid and the experience was phenomenal! This time, not so much. When we pulled up tonight, my husband thought they were closed because the parking lot was a ghost town. That should have been our clue to find another cue joint to dine at. Dead on a Friday night? No bueno. Staff at the front were friendly. Menu was easy to navigate. Prices a bit high, but we didn’t care because we remembered the food was outstanding. The food was not outstanding tonight. A 3 rating is generous and that was due to the sides - they were yum. Macaroni and cheese and potato salad. I ordered ribs and they were dried out and tasteless. I paid $2.75 for a coveted brisket stuffed, bacon wrapped jalapeño. I received a tiny, cheese stuffed, bacon wrapped jalapeño that was just plain sad to eat. I had to drown my ribs in sauce, something I never do, to make them edible. My hubby ordered a two meat plate with brisket and jalapeño sausage. Dried out brisket, but the sausage was pretty good. Fried okra was over cooked, which was a shame. One side of the restaurant, over by the drink station, is roped off, but full of old sauce bottles, boxes and a mess to look at. I get that it’s roped off, but we can still see it. The side of the restaurant we sat down at to eat was clean and tidy. Sorry Jambos, but we won’t be back in your current state. Not sure what has happened to your place over the last couple of years. We hope some changes are made to get the cue back to awesome.
Good tasting food, but the food was served lukewarm. The owner greeted only certain People while dining in. Some were offered onions , pickles, ect while waiting for food to be served while others were not. This place has fell off a lot!!
We have not been to Jambo's in a couple of years. Last time we were there, the parking lot was packed. When we pulled up tonight, there were barely three or four cars on the lot. That should have been our hint that this place was not what it used to be. Half the dining area was closed off and being used as storage. The lady at the front counter, who took our order, was pleasant and did a fine job. The food arrived quickly to our table. From the first bite, we were disappointed. The ribs and brisket were very dry. What good flavor they had was overshadowed by this. The fried okra was either overcooked or freezer burned. My wife got the mac and cheese side. This turned out to be the highlight of the night. Not sure what changed since last time we were there but we hope they figure it out.
This place was one of my favorites. Seems like there has been some changes to the food. Cowboy corn tastes different but edible. The meat was super dry today. Whatever recipe or cooking method that was used previously for the sausage please go back because I used to make a drive for the sausage alone but t was disappointed as it was super dry. Baked potato was a bit undercooked.
I had high hopes for Jambos BBQ, but overall, I was left unimpressed. The brisket was incredibly tender, but it completely lacked seasoning or any real flavor. The mac and cheese was bland, and the potato salad tasted more like straight mustard than anything else—again, no real seasoning. The ribs were just okay, but none of the meats had that deep, smoky flavor you’d expect from real BBQ. Honestly, it seemed more like they were cooked sous vide rather than actually smoked. For a place that specializes in BBQ, I expected much better.
The food is a hit and miss. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s not. I recently ordered burnt ends and it was just straight nasty. It was tough, didn’t have any real flavor. It tasted way too sweet. The ends were overcooked to the point to where I could not taste the meat. It wasn’t juicy & tender. It was tough, and dry. I’m very disappointed. The last time I had their burnt ends it was very delicious! The last time it was juicy and tender and very flavorful. You could taste the flavors in the meat. There were burned crispy parts that complemented the tenderness. But unfortunately today I didn’t get that same experience. So I give them two stars for the food because the cook is not consistent enough.

overpriced and not very good. Traffic and parking problems. Crime in area. Poor service.
Decided to try out Jambo's for the first time tonight as my wife's coworker recommended it. We're new to the area so we've been wanting some good BBQ. This was the worst BBQ I've ever had. It was gray and the most dry brisket I've ever had and the portions were very small. I also got the burnt ends and they were so hard I couldn't chew them at all. My wife tried to cut into the burnt end with a knife and she couldn't. The sides were fine but I was so disappointed with the BBQ that I lost my appetite. It was a waste of $40. The McRib is better BBQ, and that's not an exaggeration. I don't know if they were having a bad night or we got old food...
I used to go here all the time. The last 2 times I've ordered they are out of product. I called this time to verify they had the product and the guy told me yes. I placed the order and the young lady on the phone had an attitude and told me they did not have it and claims not to see my order. The guy gets back on the phone and says I placed a future order and I did not. The website converted it to a future order because it was 7:15p. He continues to tell me he doesn't have all the things I ordered for my children. I ended up just cancelling the whole order. I will wait on a refund and just find a better spot for us to frequent. Customer service goes a long way. We spend too much for bad attitudes and inconsistentcy.
Just picked up $167 order. Never in my life have I had brisket cut this poorly anywhere. Specifically asked for moist cut with bark. They sent moist cut with the bark completely cut off so there is no seasoning except for a couple chunks of fat that have bark but no meat. I called and the "cook/manager" was very rude and dismissive. He asked I drive all the way back there to bring him this horribly cut brisket with no flavor since he sliced off all the bark with the seasoning (and despite that is a health code violation to accept food back after given to customers). I still agreed to bring it back bc I didn't want to waste the money. I only asked for assurance if I drive back, letting the rest of this $167 order get cold, that the brisket be cut correctly, sliced evenly so that the meat, bark and fat are distributed. It was at that point he said he knew what he was doing (if he is the one who cut this I assure you he absolutely does not or simply didn't care) would provide no such assurance, and didn't have time for me. Providing such poor customer service in this economy after this business already had to close their other location is really risky but to each their own. I won't be back. That's too much money for terrible brisket and poor customer service in a run down restaurant who violates basic health code rules. This is TX, bad brisket should be a crime. We have way too many options to pay good money for this disappointment.
I called in an order for a Sadie, 1lb Brisket and Rack of ribs. Went to get it came home never checked it cause I’ve been several times never had an issue until today. When i get to check my order we missing a rack of ribs no issues i called back thinking it was gone go smooth sike! I got on the phone stating my issue she place me on a hold for at least 5-10 min. So manager comes on the phone saying it was in my bag asking me what kind of bag/ box i have all this irrelevant stuff basically calling me a liar in so many words. I’m continuing to explain i got no ribs, i bring everything up there showing them it’s not in there yet they still basically calling me a liar. The Worst Experience I’ve ever had with Jambos i will never be back i spend too much money with them. $75 order.
I tried to give them another chance in hopes that maybe my taste buds were off the previous time, but I stand corrected, this place has the most tasteless food, the service is very vague. Our food came out as soon as we sat down after getting our drinks and washing our hands. It was so cold with piled up sour cream on it. I had to return it and ask for a hot plate. Omg we just left the food there, the meat was so dry and no seasoning. My husband and I tried this back about 3 or 4 yrs ago and the place was packed inside and out, it was absolutely delicious. We tried again last yr and it was trash, but gave the benefit of doubt being we arrived right b4 closing. I did notice that everything was different but paid it no mind. So we tried again today, awful. There were no cars in the parking lot, but decided to give it another shot. It was disappointing, no love put into the food like the previous owners. The barbecue sauce is sweet but very tasteless, the spicy sauce tasted just like the sweet one. Now I’m at home which is around the corner about 5 mins and on the toilet, as well as my son, I will nvr go back.
We wanted to try a new bbq place. We were very disappointed. First off, something was definitely fermented in the corn. It literally tasted like self-made yogurt. Second, every item was cold except the fried okra and jalapeños. The mac and cheese was cooler than room temperature. The sliced brisket was extremely dry. It literally had no juice what so ever. The sausage (regular and jalapeno) were both dry but edible. The turkey had ok flavor but was cold. Overall, I'm regretting trying jambos, we originally were headed to heim, but I thought let's try a new spot. That is a decision I now regret. I really hope i don't get sick from whatever that fermented flavor was in the corn. Even though I spit it out, the nasty corn was still in my mouth.
Went here on yesterday, first time in a long time. The ribs tasted like they came from Albertson's deli and the chopped brisket smelled spoiled so no way I was eating it. $30 wasted.
2nd comment (original comment below) Restaurant has no response because THEY DO NOT CARE!!!!!!! They deserve a zero!!!!!! We have been satisfied customers of Jambos on Division for years, even prior to the latest management change. We have always been treated with respect up until now. I called in an order for 3 Sadie baked potatoes. I requested specific ingredients to be on the side. The young lady who took my order stated her name was Gabriella. When I placed the order with her she rushed taking my order even after I repeated it twice due to food allergies we have and certain necessary requests . Please note, I called back after placing the order to give a name for our order since it wasn’t asked. Once again, this exemplifies the rush she was in when taking our order. Needless to say, 2 of our orders were incorrect. I called back to inform Jambos (her) of the errors and she placed me on hold then returned and stated they would remake them if brought them back today. I advised her I couldn’t get back to that side of town , as we live far away. When she asked when could I come back, I advised her Saturday and “unbelievably” she told me to bring the 1 Sadie’ back to them Saturday! UNBELIEVABLEx5!!!! I expressed there were 2 incorrect orders and she stated they would remake the one. Please be advised we have worked all day and had PLANNED having Jambos for dinner all to be told to bring the order back in 2 days. What if I couldn’t get back tot hat side of town for a week? I’m more than convinced she would have stated bring the order back to them in a week. This is poor, unacceptable customer service! Are your customers, who should ALL be valued, supposed to not have dinner because of your errors? I assume she spoke with the manager to whom she advised his name was Jose. I am shocked that we were told to bring it back 2 days later. This is NOT good customer service and not a practice that should be acceptable to any customer. The potato I ordered was skimped on the brisket although I ordered all brisket no sausage link, the same as I have for many years. The potato had so much butter and sour cream on it til it was VERY mushy.. Please note these are the items which were NOT suppose to be on the potato to begin with. What manager would accept this? Doing business with customers who take the time,, to drive completely out of their way to choose and select “your place of business”and be totally dissatisfied for not being able to eat dinner should have been told you are willing to remake the order to get it right without being told to bring the incorrect order back in 2 days . Who does that? This clearly shows our business means nothing to you. We are extremely baffled by this situation and highly disappointed that 2 people cannot eat their dinner as planned as a family practice. Management should be ashamed of themselves to treat any customer this way. Take pride in the fact WE (your customers) chose your restaurant and let that be of importance to you. This is extremely rude and clearly let us know how you feel about our business.
Came in to use the restroom...i usually ask but the lady at the counter was very busy i tried to let her know as she looked at me and i pointed to the PUBLIC restroom.....after i came out she asked what i wanted to order without a hi or anything after i said thank you for using the restroom... she said next time let her know. Well i couldn't if she was away. Kinda weird usually nice people i guess theres a new must order food in order to use the restroom because ive done this several time. Training needs to be done one nice hospitality. Short lady with long blk hair in a pony tail needs so lessons on how to look and speak to people like she doesnt hate her life and the job that pays her bills. Get the hot mess tho....its really filling
